This is book three of the Mysteries of Mystic Hills series and the main characters is Belinda, whose own mother got her to leave Mystic Hills and then wiped her memory of her then boyfriend Reed and of magic and this hidden magical town. When she returned, with most of her memories still missing, after her mother’s promise to return them turned out to be a lie, Reed wanted nothing to do with her. She had totally broken his heart and his thoughts for the future. He now has a girlfriend Jezelle, but is not in love with her. Belinda has been asked out by the local doctor, Bram, and is supposed to be going out on her first date, but he never shows up. When she calls him eventually, he has no memory of any arrangement and cuts her off quickly. She decides to go out for ice cream to wallow with some of her housemates, Sadie and Dave, while Reed’s father Victor stays home. They end up at Chand’s and start to realise something is a bit off, some of the staff haven’t turned up and couples are acting oddly. Everything was going fine until an hour later when Bram turned up with a beautiful fairy on his arm, his former girlfriend, the first he had fallen for since his wife died. When Dave turns round and asks what Sadie’s name is, knowing she is Belinda’s friend, Sadie and Belinda know something is definitely wrong. Adding to which is when Reed comes and sits at their table as if Belinda is still his girlfriend and kissed her!

When Jezelle phones Reed, wondering where he was and he what he was doing, Reed doesn’t understand what she is talking about. Thankfully Belinda takes his phone and talks to her. Jezelle is dealing with her ex-Manuel, who has turned up professing his love, then married another woman who could give him full fairy kids. It seems whatever is happening is only affecting men in the town, but is widespread. A powerful witch must have done something and they need to figure out who to speak to about it all and see who can help sort it out. Belinda suggests talking to Yelena, but Jezelle tells her the mayor’s wife is probably more influential. It seems all the men have forgotten at least the last week and get a headache if they try to remember anything. Yelena turns around and accuses Belinda of being behind it all, so she could get Reed back! The next day, Penny Castor has turned up with Belinda and blame Belinda again, saying it all seems to have started at her tearoom. As she is busy trying to figure out what is happening, the mayor calls her in to find a powerful object that seems to have disappeared and is needed at the upcoming Summer Solstice FestIval, to protect the town. Without it, humans would be able to find and enter the town something most don’t want. The mayor and his current wife have a huge hold over the town and who can live in it!

She is getting mixed messages about what she should do about Reed and their relationship, with even her closest friend telling her she will be seen as weak if she gives him up again. She was raised to believe in right and wrong, so doesn’t want to take Reed from Jezelle, and knows that once he gets his memories back, he would hate her for dating him when he was with another and after she broke his heart. He had told her he could never be with her again, once she came back, never knowing if she would leave again after the summer, for her teaching job in the mundane world. Thought of the emotionally charged sprite pieces of artwork possibly having carried a huge spell, leaves them chasing around all the locations of businesses who were given one by the mayor’s wife. A death tied to the mayor and his current wife, soon raise questions from Belinda about why no investigation or charges are brought. But when people become too powerful, no one has a chance to challenge them without putting themselves in danger! A wonderful twist at the end as the powerful object is found and something weird happens when Belinda touches it. She has a lot to struggle through personally and with her choices as to whether to stay in this odd town into the future. Another adventure for Belinda and her friends, this one pulling at the heartstrings a bit and bringing her to a powerful ally for the future.

>Book Review – Spellbound: Mysteries of Mystic Hills

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 3rd in the Mystic Hills series and ends in a cliffhanger. Reed and Belinda have a second chance at their relationship, as does everyone in Mystic Hills. Someone put a spell upon the town giving lost loves a second chance. Belinda knows Reed is now dating meanie Jezelle, but Reed doesn’t remember. I felt Belinda did all she could before giving in to the relationship. She tells Reed he is under a spell and is really dating Jezelle. He explains why they broke up in the 1st place. Reed even makes Belinda promise to not give up on him if the spell fades and he thinks he should return to Jezelle. Once the spell does fade, Reed remembers what happened to him while under the spell and seems to blame Belinda for everything. Reed is really mean to Belinda. I feel that another love interest should move into the town as Reed is very close to being unredeemable (for me).

>Some second chances turn out great, like Bram, unfortunately for Belinda. A new femme fatale is introduced in this story. Zara protects the town from human detection. She is both helpful, yet terrifying. There are the same fun, quirky stores and ghosts that pop up randomly to help Belinda. I love that my favorite character is the house, Lilly! Belinda decides to stay in Mystic Hills. There are kids in Mystic Hills, so I can’t see why Belinda couldn’t teach there.

>This book is appropriate for a new (17+) adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. The romantic scenes in this book go into an adult realm, but are all fade-to-black, so there is nothing explicit. The story continues to be quite fun to read.

This series holds a special place in my heart, and this latest installment does not disappoint. With its vibrant characters, engaging storyline, intriguing mystery, sprinkles of humor, romance, and unexpected twists, this book keeps you glued to its pages.

What sets this installment apart is its refreshingly new storyline, introducing a rewind spell that turns back time—a concept that had me pondering its possibilities long after I finished reading. Despite some minor editing issues, the strength of the narrative easily earns it a solid five-star rating.

It's worth noting that diving into this book without reading the first two in the series would be a disservice. Chris Cannon has crafted a truly captivating world filled with delightful characters and engrossing plotlines. In this particular episode, the characters navigate the complexities of a "what could be" or "should be" relationship dynamic with finesse, keeping readers thoroughly engaged and entertained.

While I lamented reaching the end of this journey, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the ride. I eagerly anticipate the next installment and the adventures it will bring.

I am about a little over halfway through this and am having an absolute blast!

So far in Spellbound, someone has cast a spell that has all the men of
Mystic Hills stepping back in time
Not really, but they believe their old loves are their current loves and...
The current loves are not happy about it

Well...
That's not exactly true for everyone
The caster, obviously, wants their former love to be their current but it also looks as though a few others might feel the same way

How far will these ladies go to keep their men?
Will they play along? Keep up the deception?
Will they go as far as Murder?

I'll keep you updated.

I finished
I am so mad at Reed right now Belinda deserves better
In this episode, a spell goes wrong
An artifact goes missing
We gain a new resident
And from beginning to end a fabulous fun read!

I can't wait for the next adventure!

I have devoured every book in this series
Each has been packed with laughter, complete chaos, a little angst
lots of mystery and light romance
If you haven't had a chance to delve into them
I highly recommend them!!

Spellbindingly good - Belinda is drawn into finding a missing artifact by the mayor. Without its renewing power, the town will become visible to mortals. That cannot be allowed to happen but she's distracted by Reed suddenly claiming her as his girlfriend. Seems someone has redirected the affections of the men to their prior lovers, and he's now on Team Belinda. A lot to fix in a few days, what with the Summer Solstice approaching. And there's already been one death caused due to the love rewind spell. But it's so nice that Reed doesn't hate her anymore. Does she want the spell broken?

A fast-paced, fun story with witches, ghosts, sprites, and a siren powerful enough to shut down the wicked mayor and his equally dastardly wife. Magical mayhem is in the air but Belinda can always count on her friends to help her get to the bottom of the issues.

Relationships can be hard, particularly when you have to keep secrets. Just ask our heroine. So when she gets an unexpected rewind, she jumps at the second chance. But things are never simple and finding time to make things right just might be more difficult than it seems.

This is book three of the series, but it is written as a standalone.

This is a paranormal cozy mystery story featuring witches. I find that is often a recipe for fun and this book is no exception. The story is well written and easy to read with an intriguing setup that gets things moving and a cast of characters that keeps it that way. I really enjoyed the mix of characters who alternatively bring mystery and humor to the plot. The plot itself is good with a solid mystery that is fun to unravel. Overall, I quite enjoyed this new addition to the series and I look forward to the next book.

Highly recommended.

A well written and entertaining paranormal cozy murder mystery full of magical characters and a lot of witchy trouble in a small town hidden from the world of mundanes .You'll find yourself drawn into their stories but it's a plot full of secrets, betrayals, intrigue and murder that will have you captivated turning page after page with anticipation of what's to happen next , once I started reading it I wasn't able to place it aside finding myself laughing, suying and sometimes frustrated on behalf of the heroine , time seemed to pass in a flash because all of a sudden I was read the final chapter with a suy of contentment of enjoying a good read. Acquire " Spellbound in Mystic Hills " for hours of intriguing and enjoyable entertainment. Kat.

I have decided to limit myself to certain genres, and one is a good paranormal cozy mystery. I’ve read the books that come before this one, so I was happy to read this one. I love Belinda and her friends, and in this latest, I feel so much for her! There’s been a spell unleashed that brings ex’s back and current loves don’t always remember their partners. Guess who one of them is an ex? Yup, you guessed it: Reed. While these books aren’t exactly about the mystery that happens, these books are still fun as we navigate new friendships, old loves, ex boyfriends, and puzzles of all kinds. A well-written cozy that’s lots of fun. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I like Belinda more and more with each book and I like Reed and Jezelle less and less with each book. Dave, Sadie and Celia are great friends to Belinda, and I like that she seems to be settling in Mystic Hills. I love Zara and hope that we see more of her in future books and that she turns out to be a good friend of Belinda. I love the mysteries that Belinda works to solve in each of the books and can't wait for the next one.

I do hope that Reed redeems himself at some point and he and Belinda end up together. If not, I hope she meets someone else in Mystic Hills and is even happier than she would have been with Reed.

A case of more magical mischief to create some drama and chaos in Mystic Hills and Belinda is affected as will an opportunity to rekindle her relationship with Reed survive a second chance via magical spell. As the rewind spell takes over Mystic Hill and its residents another puzzle emerges for Belinda to solve and find a missing artifact. Lots of quirky, fun and enjoyable characters, discover more about Belinda and her friends as their loyalty and friendship support her through this chaotic time. Mix of emotions on this book but still lots of magical fun, humour, enjoyment and interesting adventure.

This is my first read of Cannon's, but what a great read is. It's fast-paced, has an awesome storyline and such a creative world Cannon has created. It's full of ghosts, witches, spirits and a siren trying to shut down the mayor. Belinda is asked to find the missing artifact that helps keeps their town invisible to mortals and well. While diligently working to find the artifact in time; the town is also under a love reversal spell. Reed forgets about Jezelle and thinks he is still in love with Belinda. I definitely recommend this book to others to find out if Belinda is successful in her missions.

Spellbound: Mysteries of Mystic Hills is book #3 in the Double Trouble in Mystic Hills series by Chris Cannon.

Mystic Hills is a fun place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there. The relationship rewind spell wreaks havoc on the town. It’s great for some and not so good for others.
This was such an interesting situation and complex dilemma for Belinda. Should she fix it for the greater good or leave in place for personal benefit? The ending was quite a shock and I can’t wait for the next book.

Is there a new witch in town? Some men suffer from memory loss. A new puzzle for Belinda to solve. I just love the book. It's a nice, sweet, cozy paranormal read. I just couldn't stop reading. It's so easy to read that it's finished before you realize it. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Belinda was expecting to go on a date, then she finds out that the men of Mystic Hills seem to have a spell on them, making them think they are in their previous relationship. Can she break the spell? And will she find the powerful object protecting the town? I like the interactions and relationships between the different characters, the suspense/mystery of things, I like Zara, though I was disappointed in Reed.

This is book 3 in Cannon's Mysteries in Mystic Hill series and a delightful addition to this series but ends in a cliffy. Our main characters are Belinda and Reed and this is a wonderful cozy, magical mystery read where these two get a glimpse of what may have been as a reverse magic spell has hit this secret town. A great, smooth flowing storyline that's captivating and has me eager for more!

This one hurts a bit. A spell gives Belinda and Reed a glimpse of what could have been with their relationship but like all good things must come to an end. I'm not sure what the long game is for their relationship but what happened had me wishing that someone awesome comes along for Belinda.

Belinda and Reed have a second chance because of a curse that was put on the men of the town allowing past loves to be the current loves of the men but what will happen with the current loves until the curse passes. Yet another great story by Chris Cannon. I love the characters and the story is amazing.

Well-written and fun, in a unique way!

I just loved how different this was, that kept it fresh. A very entertaining plot! The kind of book that’s hard to put down. I wanted to read as fast as I could, while trying not to read too fast because I didn’t want it to end! Great installment!

Chris Cannon is a brilliant author when she's writing about dragons. There is a dragon/human character in this book, but he is very minor. This book has some poor messages about how to handle abuse in romantic relationships, and I cannot fathom how she can make me like the main love interest again. There are some fabulous side characters in this series that keep me reading it, but I so wish the author would pepper the dialogue with her wicked wit and employ some flabbergasting plot twists.
