If you haven't read a novel by Iesha Bree, you can expect to read about bold independent women and Smooth, Charming Men ready to mend broken hearts. Each novel penned to heal and show each woman they're worthy of love.
I am an Indie Author! So be on the lookout for that!! Cover Designer, and reader. I have been reading all types of books by many different authors for years and I just love the idea of love so I decided I should share what I dream and hope to have someday! I'm also a military brat, so I always have this itch to travel to a new place that's another one of my passions. I have a book club if you're interested in getting sneak peeks to my new books, as well as participate in deep book discussions, and my character introductions to new series! lookup
My favorite saying from Rocked is, "We'd been strummed, heated, and rocked, but never broken." It also happens to be the final sentence of the book. This novella may have been short, but it packed a punch. Iesha provided an update on two former couples while allowing Rocko and Laine to have their moment. Rocko is managing his mechanic shop, mentoring youth, and keeping his nose clean from the streets. However, his past is back and causing mayhem in his life. Laine owns her dance studio and focuses on being the best mother and wife to Rocko. I loved Rocko and Laine's chemistry. They never lost their spark, but they have to overcome a hurdle. There were suspenseful elements that elevated the story, and I couldn't tell where the threat was coming from. Rocko thought the streets were behind him, but he had to keep his family safe. We stan a protector! Luckily, they have supportive friends to help them during the trying time. There is a balance of romance and street elements and a heavy dose of positive friendships.
Arc copy from the author/ all thoughts are my own.
This book put the final touches on a great series. This book was short, but it was filled with a nice amount of love, drama, and everything in between to keep me interested. Rocko's mother was terrible for treating him the way she did. I loved the friendship between the crew and how they were there for each other. I would recommend this series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️ This novella was a quick wrap up to the Newton Family series. I’m so glad the ending was good and provided a full update on all the characters. The story itself moved quickly but it was jammed packed with lots of action. There were also some mind blowing scenes in the story that as there reader you wouldn’t expect. I really enjoyed those moments.
I will never get over this series. I HIGHLY recommend! 💖
Now this is how you close out a series. Other authors really need to take notes because it does not take a long, drawn-out book to wrap things up properly. You can answer every lingering question in under 300 pages—and this book proved it.
This read deserved way more than five stars. I found myself talking out loud to Laine more than once like, “Not too much on my Rocko!” because she had me ready to fight 😤. Getting more of Rocko’s backstory was everything—it added so much depth and helped me understand his character on a whole different level.
And Vivian… yeah, she could definitely get these hands 🤷🏽♀️.
Overall, this series is really that good, and I will absolutely continue to recommend it. A solid, satisfying ending from start to finish ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐+
Solid finale to a really good series. Loved each character and the family of friends they'd created. They way they supported one another with love, truth, and accountability was top tier. Tru was the equal parts loving family man/friend and savage comedic hero we all needed.
Epilogue: I think the number was an error and meant to be more like only 2 or 3, but definitely not 10 years ahead.
Highly recommend all 3 books in the series: Strummed, Heated, and Rocked.
You won't be dissapointed reading this series that's for sure!I loved everyone of the books to this final point!. Rocko and Tru were the epitome of strong men, who loved hard. The way Iesha brought Rocko's mom into the story was awesome! V can kick rocks! Laine was understanding of Rocko, he just didn't give her an opportunity to know what was up! Love, family and friendship sums up the series in my estimation. Counseling never hurt anyone either, which is something we tend to frown up, but I like that it was part of the story.
I wondered about Rocko’s story while reading Strummed and Heated, as he was always quiet and observant. The incident with Carter made me even more curious. This book brings the series full circle and gave me as the reader exactly what I needed to feel like I had devoured a complete meal. The writing is just as incredible in this book as it is in the others, drawing the reader in with impeccable description and amazing word choice. Definitely a must read!
Ugh... no wait let me be clear I loved both book 1 and book 2. I feel like this book was unnecessary.... It hit no where like the first 2 did at all. It seemed rushed and honestly not need for the series, it was fine how book 2 ended. I guess I am just not understanding the point of this 3rd installment to such a great story if he wasn't going to truly had anything to the series. Because for me it felt out of place and again not needed. It didn't give the same feel as the characters did in the first and second book. I was disappointed in this one!
Yes, yes, YES!! Book 3 brought all the smoke! It answered all those "I wonder moments" about Rocko and his mamie ( for lack of a better word, trust!) full circle. It's been a minute since I wanted to get at a character as bad as I wanted to get at her. Looka here! I am so very pleased with the outcome of this book and series and I'm looking forward to more to come!! Once again very well done Author Iesha Bree! 💖
Iesha Bree has turned into a instant buy author for me. This was a great ending to the series. I loves that we got a glimpse at all three couples lives. The ending was action packed. There was a couple twist I didn't see coming. Also this cover is so good. The entire series will be added to my shelves.
We finally get to read Rocko story. I can't believe his mother did those things to him. Laine and his kids are his peace. After what his mother did the old Rocko came back. I love how his friends Tru and Kadeem had his back. Happy things ended on a good note. Now it's time for their kids to get their own story.
This story... Oh my God, when they say that it takes a village to raise a child....it's true Rocko, Laine, Tru,Harlin, Deem and Jen all of these people came through for whatever, there was a lot of secrets that had to come out and V she was a nut how you treat your child like dirt and kidnapped your grandchild..... A nut and Vic his your son like I said crazy
Applause to Iesha giving us what we want with Rocko &Laine. Also updating us with our crazy couple Tru&Harlin. Jen & Kadeem were also a nice touch. Talk about a plot twist I was very curious on who was taunting him and never would’ve predicted who.. Thank you for the great epilogue maybe a good ya spin-off on the kids ?!
Wow this was so good I loved how Ieaha keeped us up to date with everyone. We have watch how everyone life had changed, developed and grow. To see the kind of life that Rocko had to endure was crazy. but in the end, the guys triumph came back better than ever. This was such a great series. Sad to see it in.
This was a short novella but it packed!! SOOOO much happened! i was so overwhelmed lol. I'm glad to see all the characters come together at the end and and they all stood by each other.! It's crazyyy how things played out with his mother. But being married to a man and he never ever mentioned his mother and you never questioned it?
I really enjoyed this book to this series, I didn’t want this book to end , but it was a great ending to magnificence series, but I can’t wait to read the next book my Ms. Bree
These 3 books were a joy to read. I cried laughed and enjoyed the ride. These stories were so true and let me know Love Will get you through. Thanks for the love!
This entire series was amazing! I loved all of the characters and how their bond was evident in each of the books! I would love to hear from them again with an update on their children 🥰 Thanks so much for an awesome journey 🙏🏽
This may have been my favorite of the series. Iesha did well with these couples. I enjoyed them. I loved how we got to see different dynamics of Rocko. Trauma is real. Men do cry. And black people absolutely need therapy.
Just completed this last book of the series. I loved to see the brotherhood formed between Tru and Rocko and how they would die for one another. Iesha Bree does it again… another one day read for me.
I loved, loved, loved this entire series! I’m glad Tru nor Rocko had to get the job done, although I’m sure Tru wouldn’t have cared even a little bit. I loved witnessing each couple grow with their families.
This was the update I needed on the entire Newton Family. I like how this showed men being vulnerable and how therapy is needed more with men. Overall I enjoyed the entire series.
While this was a good book it would have certainly been great as a full novel. There was so much behind Rocko, complicated yet loving. Strong yet weak in some areas and yet he still showed up and out when his family was threatened. Loved it.
I felt like it was pieces of the story I was missing- turned out this is the 3rd book in the series so who knows what I missed. Nevertheless, I liked it. The boys are loyal and funny. They were all 10 toes down for family.. well except momma dearest 😂
