Medivac pilot, Taylor Morgan, investigates plane crash attributed to pilot error. Taylor had trained that pilot and felt confident she was not at fault. Suspicious clues point to murder, then Taylor's car is tampered with and she crashes but is not injured. Things start to point to another pilot who is involved drug running. Finale is a fight in the cockpit and a crash in the ocean. Taylor survives but the killer drowns. Not too bad. Author has knowledge of medivac flying and Alaskan terrain.

I had a bit of trouble with this book. Good idea for a plot, but I was ready to scream at Taylor to just stop whining about women's rights....and I totally support women's rights and know I personally have been discriminated against because I'm a woman. But geez...and then when she acts like 'a girl' and not the professional she is supposed to be, I was ready to throw the book.

Really more like 1.5 stars... I can't remember a main character I loathed this much... the only thing that saved this was the Alaska locales and a plot twist about 4/5 of the way through... but absolutely not worth the read.

Anyone who loves Alaska and aviation will love this book. Aviation professionals will scoff and say, "That wouldn't really happen that way," but literary license makes this much more readable to non-aviation types. This is well written, and I can't wait to read the next in the series!

A new woman pilot is hired by Lifeline Air Ambulance. Co-worker Taylor Morgan hopes that new hire Erica will be a friend and sympathetic soul in the otherwise all male aircrew. When Erica’s first flight ends in a fatal crash, everyone assumes it is pilot error. But Taylor has other ideas, and begins to investigate on her own.
I liked the Alaska setting and the woman pilot-as-sleuth, but the characters and plot never got off the ground. Too bad!
