Roxy Sloane is a romance junkie with a dirty mind. She lives in Los Angeles and loves writing sexy, complex stories about pushing the boundaries and risking it all.
What the actual fuck was this. I cringed the ENTIRE time I read it. I’m not even being hyperbolic, like my body had a physical reaction to how terrible this was.
Also how many times can an author really write different versions of the same sex scene? There was so much monotonous smut in this, I found myself skipping it. I’m all for smut but how unrealistic that she just GOT SHOT AND THEN WANTS TO FUCK AN HOUR LATER??? Bffr
Upset that people enjoyed this. And that the plot of this trilogy could’ve definitely just been shoved into one book. And that the word “howl” was used 11 times. 8 of those times were during sex. 8.
My two favourite words - protective MMC. Saint fits the bill. The angst in this one I was at the edge of my seat and turning the pages of my kindle so fast. I devoured this book in a day. Who is sleep for anyway?
Roxy's writing style kept me hooked. Giving just enough on each page, the build up, tying all the lose ends and unearthing more betrayals than we think we signed up for, damn.
The growth our beloved Tessa and Saint go through (also the damn trauma my academia babies had to endure) really puts them through the test. Watching it unfold, watching them confess their love, watching them help the other heal and open up? Poetic.
Saint's POVs take the cake honestly, in his feelings for Tessa, he falls first and harder. The sincerity can be felt in every bit of his thoughts explored about his girl.
Tessa's walls finally breaking down, her finally seeing just how much Saint adores her. She knew, we know that she knew but reading the realisation? The equal return of feelings? I sobbed.
This book is the best way to end this trilogy, the culmination of Saint and Tessa's story. It's such an enjoyable read. I can see myself re-reading these books again and again.
Thank you to good girls pr and roxy sloane for the ARC opportunity, so grateful for it.
Ridiculous, over the top, predictable, very trope-y, and the definition of “explicit and plentiful;” I would be happy to never read the word “clench” again.
I had to see it through, but it was a solid 2.5-3 stars. I will not be reading the next series.
There's too much in this one that, if you haven't read the series yet, gives too much away. On vibes? Better than book 2. Good spice still, but no more just "we can't resolve this with words, let's get nekked!" like in book 2. Mystery-wise, I dunno, it was... Not bad... I was not blown away, you pretty much had the pieces to put the puzzle together (which, ok, you should hear me complain when it comes way out of left field and ends up being some random character you've never even met. I know, I know, I should be singing this book's praise from the rooftops)... but...
There, summed it up.
Unfortunately, because KU played hard to get and I'm cheap, there was too much of a break between books 1/2 and 3, but as I look back over my highlights, I was so stoked about this attack on scientific integrity and I guess at the end it was just... 'Yeah, it happened' and our MCs just wrapped everything up tidily and went about their way... Maybe there wasn't enough comeuppance for the bad guys?? I dunno...
What I DO know is this was a quick and fun series that I will come back to again and again because man is the spice nice! And maybe a second read will make me more articulate... It was good... I really liked it... 😬
4.5, the series as a whole? Also a 4.5. I loved it but there were a few things that threw me off. But overall, this book was amazing, so many plot twists, I literally dropped my iPad at one point out of shock lol.
The spice? *chefs kiss*, top tier. I love them together. The ending tied everything together perfectly and left no plot holes which were greatly appreciated. This was my first time reading anything by this author and I definitely plan to check out more of her work now.
Thank you Good Girls PR for this arc, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Seal My Fate, the final book in The Oxford Legacy trilogy by Roxy Sloane…
Book three kept pace with the first two books, bringing the mystery to a close and giving us a HEA.
The relationship between Saint and Tessa is one to be envious of, wrought with passion, loyalty, trust and a love that couldn’t be swayed. From the first book through the entire trilogy, the plot stayed consistent and at the forefront. The pace and momentum was carried through all the books exceptionally well, it had a cast of astounding support characters that added so many layers. This was heavy on the action, never a dull moment or lull in the story and the spice was consistent but never detracted from the plot, in fact it added immensely to the relationship development of Saint and Tessa.
This was an explosive trilogy that held my attention and kept me invested through the entire series.
I received an advanced reader copy and am leaving my review voluntarily.
I was really enjoying this trilogy but this last book fell a little short for me. The smut just kept coming at the most inconvenient times I wanted to know what was going on and get to the missing sister!
Does one couple usually keep my interest through 3 books.....no....did this series.....ABSOLUTELY!! The twists and turns in this series blew my mind! The spice was never skimped but it was always used at a tactful time. There was plot, betrayal, intrigue, murder, arson, long lost loves and mysteries, AND great spice!! You really can't go wrong with this series!
Tessa's sister was pissing me off ngl. I wasn't too fond of the last book in this series, so 4/5. It was a good plot twist, just not enough to have the same lasting effect as books 1 and 2.
Favourite quotes: - I look filthy. Debauched. Debased. I look free. - How did we even end up here?”“Because you tried to do the right thing - He’ll shape up eventually and marry her, it’s not like he has any better options, but she won’t forget the humiliation of having to wait. - “Isn’t it all terribly vulgar?” my mother asks, “People braying for attention on their mobile phones all day.”“Mother,” Robert chides her. “Don’t be rude.”“I wasn’t calling Tessa vulgar,” Lillian protests, although the way she’s looking at her betrays her true feelings. “Merely that I don’t understand this constant need for the spotlight. It’s so… American.” Tessa smirks. “Is that so? I heard that Big Brother was invented here in England. So really, you’re all to blame for reality television.” - “No comment,” Hugh grins. “And if the bride herself should ask, I’m stunned into silence by the beauty of the occasion.” - She giggles and tosses a potato chip at me. “Maybe. Or maybe I’ll quit medicine altogether and open a bookstore-slash-tea shop on the coast somewhere, and spend my days baking scones.”“And flirting with hunky fishermen,” I add.
Smut moments: - Page 43 - Page 73-76 - Saint bites down on my shoulder, and I rake my nails down his back, demanding, as his body drives me higher, and the world melts away. - Page 188-194 - Page 255
Okey dokey. Where to start. So the trilogy as a whole had a good story. In my opinion these books could have easily been one long 4-500 page book or two 250-350 page books. There was so much filler throughout the whole series and I love me some smut but it was just weirdly placed and too much. Without giving spoilers I did call out who done it but also I totally got it wrong too that part did indeed shock me. Let's talk about Saint.. man I do love a golden retriever he was the best throughout the whole series and never wavered one bit. Tessa.. I liked her but also wanted to ring her neck a few times boy did she make dumb choices lol overall for the series I'd give it 3.75 stars...would have been more but parts def did drag on.
Nota 2'5 estrellas.
We've made it to book three of this series! I think this was the perfect way to wrap up this story. Again, we get a consistent plot, lots of spice, and two main characters who have stolen the show. I feel like I'm repeating myself with each review but these books are fun and captivating.
In this one, we get a little more action. Nothing felt too overdramatic or over the top; it felt like a romantic suspense book. I really did enjoy this, just like the others.
Saint is still a charming and suave guy who's head over heels in love with Tessa. Tessa is still large and in charge and knows how to get what she want...especially from Saint. I love that within these three books we get to see their relationship grow. They really are the perfect match.
I loved the elements of surprise in this as well as the twists that occurred every so often. I think we got a nice conclusion to this story and I'm happy with how it ended.
I really enjoyed reading these books. I loved how it was written (again, apart from some grammatical errors), I loved the characters and the plot. I was hooked and intrigued the whole time. These also go by really quickly which is an added bonus. They're quick but they don't feel rushed.
'Fuck, where's a surface-to-air ground launcher missile when you need one?'
Well, the dramatics all coming to a head was quite something. I'm kinda underwhelmed, though. Or just whelmed? IDK, I mean it did end the best way it could have but the way it felt it was going from one development to a sex scene to another development at one point LOL. Tessa's discovery kink is real and she also got bossy once so that was new, heh. Saint saying she fucks like a champion was hilarious, though
literally from the minute i opened this thing i couldn’t put it down. the twists and learning more on wren and how it just spiraled out of control only to leave me sobbing tears of joy at the end!!
LET ME TELL YOU... this book is SPICY. The way that Saint WORSHIPS the ground Tessa walks on is my favorite. He will literally do whatever she wants... and enjoy it. I love the dynamic these two have SO so much. An overprotective MMC with a spitfire FMC? Say less.
I love how the plot just gets thicker and thicker as the story progresses from Book 1 to here. Roxy put me through the wringer with these books. I was guessing endings left and right and was wrong about ALL of them (but that tracks with me and mystery/thriller though).
Roxy’s writing style kept me hooked the whole time. I’m sad that this series is over, but I had such an amazing time with Tessa and Saint. PLEASE read these books!!!
Thank you Good Girls PR and Roxy Sloane for an ARC of these books!
danger. secrets. lies. betrayal. corruption. oh how the plot thickens…
the third and final installment in the oxford trilogy was full of lies and secrets and deceit. you think you can trust someone, and then you find out you can’t. this whole book i was trying to put the pieces together before they were revealed. so many secrets were revealed and so many were forced to be kept… including a key character that i never suspected but was also perfect for the role #girlsrule
what do you do when you find out the one person who who you thought to be dead, the whole reason you’re in london on a revenge mission in the first place, turns out to be alive? ask tessa. when she found out wren wasn’t actually dead, she was happy but also angry for being lied to and the grieving she went through. all she wanted was her sister back. in the end, she got just that, plus more.
and of course, we can’t forget about the spice. let’s just say this one was kinkier than the others (not that i’m complaining). but the tension and the spice were perfect.
saint would do anything, anything, for tessa, even shoot his own brother and forget his family. also his mother is a BITCH.
of course i wouldn’t read anything without a happy ending so i think you can guess how it ends… tessa is saint’s family now. they would do anything for each other. in the end, everyone got what was coming to them.
also, can we talk about how saint is secretly (or not so secretly) a taylor swift fan? that little tidbit made my swiftie heart happy :)
thank you again to roxy sloane for writing this spicy dark academia trilogy and to good girls pr for the arc!! i was so happy to have been able to read this!!
i cant wait for it to be out on september 7! happy reading!!

I couldn’t put the series down, but in the end it just wasn’t satisfying despite the HEA. The last two books suffered from pacing issues and excessive repetition. The overuse of words like ‘howl/howling’ got on my nerves. By the third book, the spice was getting particularly repetitive and there were so many scenes that just felt unnecessary. The plot and spice didn’t really develop or deepen the relationship arc, which left the last book feeling less like a romance than an attempted wrap-up of the wild stakes.
The ‘UK tropes’ were particularly grating in the last two books, especially the clunky slang and superficial understanding of London. For a series billed as an Oxford romance, they spent most of it in London, at countryside estates or abroad.
Shoutout to the taylor swift references (folklore & gaylor ftw) but it was a bit weird to have two of them in the last book when there weren’t comparable references in the other two books.
All-in-all the first book was the strongest, and had me in a strong enough chokehold that I finished the series.
2.5- very ok. I wanted this to be done so badly but there are no summary reviews so I had to read to figure out what happened.
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS So, if you want it: Hugh kidnapped Wren. Robert was the lackey that shot at the girls. Saint’s mom was in on all of it. It all wraps up in a nice little bow
