Ohhh how I know the Muffin Man after this book, and let me tell you that it's NOT enough of the Muffin Man. We want infinite amounts of the Muffin Man after just a little taste... mmm feed me. And speaking of feeding - beware, this book will give you a food kink. I never thought of that as "something" but only a few chapters in and I was looking at food veryyyyy differently. "Yes, Bode - bring that charcuterie board over here big boy!"
This story is... it is so chock-full of all of the best of Jade Dollston's writing. It's got her humor, her sensuality, her compassion, and the love - omg the love these characters have for one another and for children and even for the people who don't deserve their love... my heart.
Bode and Landree are like a breath of fresh air - and together they are a a hurricane of fresh air! They took my breath away more than once - more than twenty times. Their individual stories are compelling and lovely and difficult. But together - together they are unstoppable.
We've gotten to know Bode as the funny man of his found family, and we've loved him so - for many books now. And to learn his entire story was so-so much more than I ever could have expected. He's the ultimate cinnamon roll MMC - like seriously!!! Bode is THE ultimate man. And it is exemplified from the very beginning of this story, from the moment of meet cute, zebras included. And then Landree Lou, oh giiiiiiiirl! You are the best kind of hot mess express, you are my spirit animal... pun intended. I love you - your spirit, your heart, your kindness, your ruggedness, your fierce mama bear-edness, your tenacious attitude, your hard work, and your love of animals. Girl, I will be your bestie!
And put these two together? *Let's out a long breath* They are Mr. and Mrs. Cinnamon Roll personified - literary personified.
Jade, bravo. Bravo. The voyage you took us on in this book was heartwarming and heartbreaking, and everything in between. You are an A-class storyteller that tugs at all of the best heartstrings and bringing humanity to your characters. And we will now forever think about the Muffin Man in a very different light!

Goodness, where to even start with this review…. Mind blown is what comes to mind, truly a masterpiece!
This author has taken a story and added so much heart and emotion, love, tragic moments, plot twist you will never expect, laughter that will have you peeing your pants, spicy spice that will have you clutching your pearls & characters that will leave you craving so much more! Oh,and a few times I even wanted to drop kick one character in the throat! 😂
Bode and Landree are probably my favorite 2 MC’s in this whole series! The way their story evolves and the push/pull between the bumps thrown their way is written so well.
The safari animals- they made me want to bring them to life and live on the farm with them! So many fun moments and sweetness!! I’m now a big fan of Zebras!!!! 🦓
The side characters are iconic!! The grandparents are my absolute favs from any book ever!! The kids in the story STOLE my heart! Like literally wrapped around my fingers loved loved them!
And don’t even get me started on all the characters from the previous books in this series making multiple appearances! That’s what I love about Jades books is how well they all flow like it never missed a beat. She is truly incredible At what she does and knows how to write phenomenally well!
I cannot recommend this book enough!! Well done, well done!! You are amazing Jade Dollston! And thank you for allowing me to read this earc for my honest review.

When it's time for the story of our beloved goofball that is Bode, you scramble to immerse yourself in it.
The 5th book in the Fierce Protector series is just , I have no words. Bode oh bode , he has been the one giving us such amazing laughs in the previous books and here in his book he is anything less that amazing, beautiful and such a wonderful soul.
I decided I'm not gonna give out any deets or leads or segues into what this story is about but I can tell you that Jade Dollston killed it in this one. Bode you can't do anything but go aww and fall in love with his easy personality and care. He is the ultimate.
Landree Louise hello there , our red headed mama to 3 wonderful kids and a whole zoo of animals this woman is just how she is ought to be. Strong, independent and a genuine woman navigating her life as a single mom.
And our precious lil kids, they are fabulous and makes you want to just give them big cuddles and make cookies with them . The new secondary characters we get introduced are such support and strength to Lou that you automatically fall in love with this family.
And I most definitely did that.
As I finished reading this one I just felt extremely happy and such joy for the way this story played out.
We see them as singles we see them together we see them as a family and it's such a sight.
It has its laughs, joys , excitement, pain , hurt , grief . It takes you on a rollercoaster. And it's so darn worth it and won't trade the time for anything.
Bode and Landree equals couple goals.

This is A Must Read Book. I 💓this book. This was the second time I read, from this author and I was definitely, not disappointed. This book will make you Laugh, spicy, God, what that man wouldn't do for them. you will Fall in Love with Bode. He's the Perfect Guy. My Dream Muffin Man. He can Definitely make food be sexy. 💓 Bode and Lou. They had chemistry , from the beginning. 💓 the kids. Definitely, have Wonderful Characters, in this book. This was the first book I read in the series, need to go back to book 1. I'm Definitely, putting this on my reread list. This book will Definitely, kept your attention. I was Hooked on page one. The things, he do to make you laugh and the thing Lou , would say, will definitely, make you laugh. . You will NOT Want to PUT it DOWN!! I'm definitely, going to reread, this book when I'm sad, because it will brighten my day and mood .

Wow. Just wow! I have so many words, but also not enough, to describe this amazing book! Let me try and get my thoughts out here for you guys without babbling (good luck with that, me). First, let me just say that I was so honored to be accepted onto the ARC team for this book–I had no idea I was even on the team until I got the ARC copy of the book! I had already put this series on my TBR, so it just bumped up my reading timeline. Unfortunately, I have so many other ARCs to read that I only managed to get Dauntless Protector, which is the first in this interconnected standalone series, read before I had to just jump right into Determined Protector. So, while I had a brief introduction to our precious Bode, and while it’s definitely going to throw me off to go back and read the rest of the books (which I will be doing), I was very excited to read Bode’s story. One thing I love about these books is that they’re all so long in the best possible way–which is why I had to put off reading the rest of the Fierce Protectors series. I’m a fast reader, but not that fast! But, despite all of that–let me tell you how much I adore Bode. It’s a lot. Like…a lot, a lot. Bode is the sweetest cinnamon roll angel baby who was ever born and I love a cinnamon roll hero who, by the way, also has a dominant side and a dirty mouth.😏 He and Landree had amazing chemistry both inside and outside of the bedroom, and completely accepted each other’s kinks which was something I loved seeing more of in a romance book. I also really loved Landree Louise so freaking much. She’s an animal lover and a rockstar mom, and I loved seeing her open up and trust Bode after having a bad experience with her ex. Bode also had similar issues with trust, but the way he opened up to Landree in return was absolutely amazing to watch. I also freaking adored how Bode was with Landree’s kids! One of my favorite things about a single-parent romance is seeing how the new love interest in the parent’s life takes to the kids. It melts my heart every single time and Bode was no exception. One of the other things I loved about this book (and Dauntless Protector as well) is the banter!! The found family vibes between all the characters are absolutely top tier and the way they joke with each other makes me smile and laugh throughout the book. The fact that Bode’s found family didn’t hesitate for one second to accept Landree and her whole family into their fold was beautiful. I also love that Landree was not some meek little mouse that let people–including her crappy ex–walk all over her. She was tough when she needed to be, but still a sweet, loving, and caring mother. She and Bode were an amazing couple right from the start, and I couldn’t get enough of their relationship. I can’t wait to go back and read about all of the other men in the group, and I really can’t wait to see what Hawk gets up to in his book.

Bode has arrived! Every book in this series has had me hooked and captivated but I gotta say this one takes the cake or should we say muffins? 😜

Let’s begin! Jade has once again brought us such an incredible story. I’m such a cry baby already for emotional storyline but this one made me bawl especially the scenes between Bode and Katie. My checks hurt from smiling too much because this such a perfect story for this blended family.
So we have our beautiful devoted single mom of 3 ,Landree “Lou”, who owns her own drive thru safari park. I mean she’s a badass overall. She’s an independent queen but deserves to be cherish and loved on and Bode does exactly that and more.
Bode is memorized the moment his eyes landed on this redhead beauty on the side of the highway with zebras in her trailer. He’s the biggest sweetheart and offers his help but is left wanting more as well as Landree after their first encounter.
He’s enamored with her children quickly and not only wants her but to be apart of their family.
What happens when the past comes to threaten everything he worked so hard to accomplish?
Not only does he have deal with Landree’s past but his own past catches up and turns his life upside down. It’s wild ride of emotions and pulls at your heartstrings. Not only will you shed some tears, you will laugh your heart out. There are some heartbreaking moments that you will not expect. This is HEA but it’s never as easy as it seems. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride as you journey along these two characters and their love story.
Spice is always a A+++. Jade knows how to make a woman sweat lol. The chemistry is through the roofs.
What makes the story even better is to see previous characters from her series. Such an amazing family. Most of them aren’t blood related but this family is much more than that. They go hard for each other and will always have each other’s back.
This is 5 star author for me! Automatic read with anything she puts out. 👏🏼

Gosh I love Bode and I feel like I tell Jade that every time I read one of her men from this series but y’all I really think I have found my ultimate book husband this man is EVERYTHING! Is he frekin gorgeous hell yes! Is he an amazing gentleman that can take care of his woman’s need you bet your sweet butt he can! And he melts my heart with how good and sweet he is with kids. And Landree I need her as my best friend not only beautiful and loves animals but hilarious and spectacular mother. I loved this book there was plot that was so wholesome engaging and chefs kiss to the spice. And of course you can’t forget the guys and their beautiful families I always love seeing the gang and there antics. To read how everyone is growing since book one warms my heart. This book brought happy and sad tears to my eyes made be belly laugh, blush and get butterflies in all the right places If y’all have not read this series you are really frekin missing out because each book just gets better and better!!

Omg swoon! I fell in love with Bode right at the very beginning. This book was like it was written for me. It hit me in absolutely all the right places. It was really nice to be reading about a real world FMC. Gives us real girls hope.
I’m not a softie like this but I do actually think this book made my ovaries explode. Bode is just the man to die for and his extended family is just the best.
I’ve got to read the rest of their stories because I need some more of the fun loving stories that these books bring.
This book killed it for me and I purposely savoured it as I didnt want to say goodbye to Bode and Landree.
I just can’t find anything wrong with it. I’ve laughed; I’ve cried and I’m even a little bit jealous but most of all, I’m going back to the beginning as I need more of these men in my life.

Jade Dollston’s “Determined Protector” begins light and fun but then touches on serious topics throughout the story. Landree has independently cared for her three children without her ex’s support. She’s been focused on her family and her business as a Safari Owner. When Bode and Landree met, even I felt the sparks fly. I had a smile on my face the whole time as I was reading their initial meetup scenes. The dialog between them was great.
Unexpected circumstances hit each of them differently during the story, and both handle it differently, but one thing stays consistent. Bode is unfaltering. He’s present, involved, supportive, and loving. I hands down, love this guy.
I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I got this as an arc! And lemme tell u!
Jade has outdone herself again!!! I didn't read any of the books before this and u don't need to but I'm sure u will love it if u did!! The way this author writes is wonderful!!
Bode is seriously everything u want in a man. This character was seriously the greatest! He made u just feel the romance dripping off of him.
I love how each character before wasn't reliving to much from their stories if u wanted to back track and read them nuttin would be to spoiled for u.
The deadbeat. Ugh to many words and not friendly for the post. But once u read it u will see wat I mean.
All the kids were just the cutest. I wanted to reach in and just squeeze them and give them so many kisses. Jade seriously has a way with makin u fall in love with the kids she brings into her stories. They each will forever have a piece of ur heart and make u cherish them.

Ok but seriously this book (just like every book is the series) was so much fun to read! There were so many scenes that had me laughing my ass off… specifically the “dancing” scene in Cams office! That is by far my favorite scene from this book if not for the whole series!
If you decide to read this book you will be rewarded with nonstop laughter from the funny scenes between the guys and the random funny questions the kids make! Like what makes a book better than funny kids? I can tell you nothing tops funny kid comments!
Also be warned you will never see a plum tree the same way again… 😂
I highly recommend reading! I don’t know how Jade keeps doing it but I swear every book she writes I say is the best and she can’t outdo it and she goes and proves me wrong!

Ok but seriously this book (just like every book is the series) was so much fun to read! There were so many scenes that had me laughing my ass off… specifically the “dancing” scene in Cams office! That is by far my favorite scene from this book if not for the whole series!
If you decide to read this book you will be rewarded with nonstop laughter from the funny scenes between the guys and the random funny questions the kids make! Like what makes a book better than funny kids? I can tell you nothing tops funny kid comments!
Also be warned you will never see a plum tree the same way again… 😂
I highly recommend reading! I don’t know how Jade keeps doing it but I swear every book she writes I say is the best and she can’t outdo it and she goes and proves me wrong!

I don’t know if I swooned so hard and fast for a MMC before than I did with Bode!
I mean he starts off with it right away, road side assistants be damn when you see Bode coming down the road in his big yellow Hummer.
And he just got better and better throughout reading.
The Muffin Man…that is all I am going to say about that. Just be on the lookout for that.😏
Landree, oh how I loved this lady. She was one tough, strong and sweet mother. You could feel the love she had for her babies, human and animal, coming from the pages. I loved how she held back a little when it came to Bode and her kids. But my goodness these two were fire! I adored their relationship and then the relationship Bode had with her kids.
This book will have you swooning, blushing, giggling and just falling in love. With some twists and little suspense added in, I highly recommend this book if all of that sounds like a good read to you as it was for me!

OMG, Jade Dollston! You did it again! I was absolutely hooked, from the beginning, when Bode stopped to help Lou on the side of the road. I want to say so much, but I don't want to say too much. Bode and Lou are awesome together, and with the help of kids, animals, and grandparents, I laughed out loud, swooned, gushed, and blushed.
This story was so well written. You felt every moment of love, happiness, sadness, anger and let's not forget the HEAT!!! Bode, Lou, and the Plum tree...Yasss! The Muffin Man...Double Yasss!

I absolutely loved this book. Jade is one of my favorite authors and I love this series on all of the guys I’ve read them all!! I find myself having a hard time putting it down but sadly real life interferes lol. I love Bode and all of the characters all of the friends are family and are there for each other and this book actually gives me some hope that just maybe there are some actual really good guys out there in this world those that might actually love and protect you and love your Children as their own. It blends a family together I just absolutely loved this book.

Just finished book 5 of the Fierce Protectors series Determined Protector. I’ve been waiting for Bodes story for what feels like forever! I took my time to read it. I didn’t want it to end. Bode is my favourite in the series. His loving joking funny natured personality won me over since book 1. So to read his story I was so excited. He meets a woman on the side of the road she had vehicle problems and he helps her. She’s a single mom of 3 and has the best job that would be my dream! There’s spice humour drama and heartwarming moments. Definitely recommend this book (well series since there is references to the other books)

Book 5 of the series and somehow it all still feels new every time. How is even possible that the jokester of the group has quite possibly the best love story?! If you enjoy spice, love, laughs, cute kids and wild animals, please read this amazing story.
In the prior books of the series we get to know Bode as the never serious jokester of the friend group. That being said he’s always there when anyone needs him and he’s super loyal. Here we get to see his character expand into an amazing man fueled by such deep love.
We meet Landree as tall, lean eye candy but in reality she is so much more. A devoted single mom and business owner with a huge support system. She’s definitely a woman that can hold her own but why should she have to when a long haired hottie wants to be there every step of the way.
I don’t want to spoil all the fun along the way to their HEA so I’ll just say settle in for the wonderful ride that is Bode & Landree.

This book gave me small town romance vibes and I was all here for it. Bode is literally perfection and I fell for him hard! I love the relationship he shared with the fmc and with her kids. It is honestly a cute little fun read with spice! If you’re into that then this book is for you! He’s a gentleman picking her up on the side of the road when she needs help and my gosh the muffin man 😍 be on the look out for that!!

I loved this book so much, Landree and Bode's story is just.. perfect!
I've laughed so much but had my heart ripped out too.. this is definitely a soulmate story, they were just meant to be!
Landree is just so strong and independent with some issues from her past which made her build big walls around her heart.
Bode is just dreamy, the perfect man who found a way to break Landree's walls down...
Three things that will always make me think of Bode, Landree and Co are Shake the Plumtree, the Northstar and... The Muffin Man...
You want to know more, just read the book, you won't be disappointed, it's fabulous!

Do you know the muffin man??? Do you want to…because I’m 100% sure you won’t regret meeting THIS muffin man. Bode is everything and more, and his book was definitely worth the wait. I truly adore that Jade paired Bode with someone like “Lou” . It just made sense from the beginning and was who I would have pictured for the perfect match for our special Bode.

Oh my Bode! Such a softly wrapped up in a rough and tough exterior. I loved this book; it was a great read, with minimal drama in it. Lou and Bode have such a great instant bond that it is hard to put the book down. I was laughing to myself every time Lou subbed her swear words, such a mom thing. I have the utmost respect for Bode, it’s not an easy thing to take on an instant family, especially when the father is in and out of the picture, but he seamlessly enters the picture and allows the kids to gravitate to him at their own speed.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series just to see how the little family is doing!

I have loved this whole series, and this book certainly would move to my top favorites! Bode is definitely a protector of those he loves. Landree is so sweet and loves her family. Her love of animals also gave me all the feels. The way these two meet and come together and how they banter had me laughing so much! I definitely recommend this book and series!

This book is just 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤤🤤🤤🤤🤯 Do not walk, RUN to get your copy!!! Then be prepared to get no sleep until you finish it because you will NOT want to put it down. Jade Dollston is one of my all time favorite authors. I have LOVED every. Single. Book. That she has released. Bode and Landree’s story has just reached a whole new amazing level. The twists, the turns, zebras, the muffin man (seriously though, The Muffin Man 😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🌶️🌶️🌶️)….if you haven’t picked up your copy of this yet, RUN and get it. Now. Author Jade Dollston does it again. Sweet baby jesus I need all of Bode and Landree forever! This is such a well rounded book with again every aspect, the protective man, feisty momma fmc, with twists and turns that will throw you for a loop, this book will have you laughing, crying, and wishing it wouldn’t end! Definitely one for my top favorite list & it’s only the very beginning of the year! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️💕💋

A Great Read With All of the Feels.
I love that Bode is a strong male character who is not afraid to express his feelings. In fact, he owns them. I loved how strong and resilient Lou is. Together, they made the perfect couple and throw in the kids, they have the perfect family. It’s not without issues, but I loved how they tackled them, even when they frustrated me. This book is hot! It made me laugh and cry and feel everything in between. I truly love reading everything I have read from this author and look forward to reading more of her books!

The story of Bode and Landree may be my favourite of Jade Dollston’s. Every woman needs a Bode in their life. They meet on a highway where she has a flat tire and they fall fast and hard. The story is fun and spicy. The kids and animals add another level of humor and show that blending families isn’t always easy. The past coming back provides some angst. Well written and easy to read. Very enjoyable book.

Fantastic book, Jade is an amazing storyteller.The characters have amazing chemistry, I laughed a ton, there is a great amount of spice, and perfect storylines to keep the story moving and interesting without being too much. Can't wait for the next one!

OMGS! I love all these wonderful characters! A must read page turner of a charming and hilarious single mom romance book! Landree ex-husband left her devastated. She didn’t have time for a man in her life. All her focus was to raise and provide for her children. When she found herself on the side of the road with a flat tire. She never expect Bode a tall, charming, long-haired man to help her and come full force into her and her children’s life. Enjoyed reading!

I loved Determined Protector so much! It had the perfect balance of spice, sweetness, plot, comedy, and romance. The chemistry between Bode and Landree was exquisite. They both were hilarious. Between Plum Tree Baptist Church and The Muffin Man, they had me laughing from beginning to end. Having such a funny FMC as Landree was very refreshing. Bode had me swooning from the start. There is no way not to fall in love with a man like that. Bode is the perfect embodiment of possessive protector, doting lover, and devoted family man. From chapter 1 I was hooked and it only got better and better. The secondary characters were also amazing, from Landree’s family, to Bode’s mom and his friends made this story even more lighthearted and compelling. This is not my first book by Jade Dollston but it is my first in this stand alone series (The Fierce Protectors) and I will definitely be going back to read the rest. Absolutely would recommend!!
