Four years have passed since the harrowing Salt Pines Acres Massacre, and in its wake, Galan Rain finds himself in a desperate struggle to safeguard Dana Scarlet. Threats loom as his former flame, Paige, reemerges, casting a perilous shadow over Dana’s life.
They started a new life together and opened a coffee house on the grounds of Salt Pine University; there, they came across a group of friends who whispered about rumors of the attack in Salt Pine Acres. Eder Barlow, a famous social media icon, was suspected to be one of the victims. The uproar of his millions of fans caused the story to go viral, and as a result, copycat killers began popping up around the world.
The opening day celebrations became a nightmare when a body was found outside the new Grounded Coffee House; SPU was home to a copycat killer. Dana realized the power of the Ripper’s fandom online and devised a plan that would end the killings. Being one of the two survivors of the original attack, she orchestrated a reenactment on campus when a storm warning was issued. With the campus mostly evacuated, Dana’s plan was set into motion until the real killer made an unexpected appearance and declared Justice for Eder.
Now trapped, SPU turns into a hunting ground for the Ripper. Their efforts to stand against the Blood Rain Ripper prove futile when a chilling turn of events shakes them to their core. Meanwhile, Paige’s hunger for vengeance threatens to dismantle every piece of Galan’s life and strip him of everything he holds dear.
Woof. That was rough and not from the gore and killing. Where do I start? Hmm, I think the word “decisive” might be his favorite word from the amount of times it was in there. Geez. I’m all for a psychological thriller, but this was not that. I was rolling my eyes and muttering “seriously” at every plot twist (if you can call it that.) This storyline had great potential, but so much BS was crammed in and rushed. I think he just lost the plot or lost sight of where this should have gone. Far too many holes in the story. Don’t want to list them all since they would be spoilers. A thesaurus would have helped the insane amount of repetition. Disappointed because I was really looking forward to see where Galan’s story went.
Galan, wtf??? I was confused majority of this book 🤣 and somehow it all managed to come together… I’m low key wondering HOW is this based on true events because ??? Does anyone know 👀👀
DNF!! My first ever DNF too! Made it 300 pages so I gave it a good go, but I just couldn’t force myself through it anymore. Where to start with this review…
** CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS **
I only read this book because I’d bought it at the same time as the first, not knowing I’d dislike the first as much as I did😅 so since I had it, I figured I’d read it. I already had an inclination it would be a waste of time but thought I’d give it a go in case it drastically improved since the first book.
Shocker, it didn’t.
Firstly, I cannot stand Galan’s “I’m untouchable”, God’s-gift attitude. The fact he can’t stand to have anyone touch him or call him “sir”, even men, for fear that he will get so instantly turned on that he won’t be able to control himself🤦🏻♀️ ugh, ick. I get his past is supposed to explain why he’s like that but it just didn’t sit well with me.
Secondly, the plot is so wishy washy, contradicting and rushed in places. The writing is overdone and repetitive. By overdone, I mean seeming to write the same sentence in different ways, all the way through (like I said in my first review for book 1, it was like he was trying to hit a word count😅). And repeating words or phrases throughout the book. If I had read the word “amidst” one more time, I would have stabbed my eyes with a fork🤦🏻♀️🥱 There is also very little character or scene development, making it hard to visualise things.
And, thirdly, I’m sorry but, the doppelgänger surviving being stabbed in the chest, having his throat slit and then his neck snapped and STILL SURVIVING is just ridiculous. I know fiction is made up but there should still be elements of belief, unless the genre allows otherwise, i.e. fantasy or sci-fi where powers/magic are involved. But since that’s not the case at all, this part was just stupid and definitely didn’t improve my overall opinion of this book. It was after hitting this point that I finally lost the will to continue and gave up.
Only positive I can think of is the fact the books are dark editions, so they look cool and was part of the reason why I bought them in the first place. But this also meant they cost more than a standard paperback and in the end, wasn’t even worth the money.

Let’s start from the beginning. The cover. That’s 5⭐️ all on its own. Sexy and beautiful. Dark pages? Yes please. Sets the tone for what you are about to embark on inside. I don’t usually read psychological thrillers or anything with spice in it. It was because of the dark pages and cover of Book 1 that got me interested in the author to begin with. I got the amazing chance to beta read other books and then ARC this book, and please please!! Give me more of what this book is! And more of Galan! Yum! This book has made me feel things I didn’t know existed! Made me realize some things about myself as well. Kinda scares the crap outta you too. Messes with your head a little and then grabs you and choke holds you!
From the descriptions of the scene, to the characters and the actions of which they are doing; Neel has always managed to do it so perfectly. The authors writing style is unique and so engaging. He is so descriptive and can set the tone for such a wonderful escape from your own reality. I always feel like I am apart of every scene and I can physically envision peoples faces and their emotions. Book one was amazing, but I do have to say when he said this was more. It’s MORE! Leaves you at the edge of your seat, picking up your jaw off the floor. I had to put it down a couple times, due to the heat 🌶️ and holy 💩 moments!
If you aren’t into psycho thrillers, just try it. Even if it is just at first because of the cover, or dark pages. Because you will be hooked. I swear!
It’s available for preorder on kindle, and available September 9th, 2023 on Amazon! Do NOT miss it, understand? 😏
What a page turner!! I'm normally not a fast reader, but this book had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish and guessing along the way. The perfect blend of thriller, mystery, and a touch of spice 🔥😉 It will leave you wondering what you would do for love? #comingforthecrown #darkeditions #neellatchman
Man oh man I could not put this book down. I read this book as an arc but the kindle version is up for preorder on Amazon. It is extremely action packed. I read this book within a day that is how good it was. I would highly recommend I'm Broken Too by Neel Latchman. As well as his other books. What I really love is that all of his books have black pages which you do not see anywhere else.
Well I’ll start this review by saying I made it through and only thought to dnf once -That’s a record.
My thoughts still stay the same as they did with the first book. WHAT. THE. FUCK. Honestly this book was a step up from the first one but still fell flat and landed in that “Car accident can’t look away” place.
To sum it up, Just read it to understand why I’m saying this. 😅 or don’t -begging you don’t.
Did you know that Neel blessed us with a third installment????? 😭😭😭😭😭😭 send help
Some events that happened in the book that just *sighs* didn’t do it for me. > The copy cat killer that wouldn’t fucking die???? > The fighting scenes???? HELP > The authors writing.. ugh 😣 > How nobody read the room…. > Galan Rain and Dana Scarlett (please I loathed them both) > The smut was insufferable.. > Cheating??? This case was so complicated cause Dana thought Galan died? So in her defense she was mourning him??? Okay Dana girl! 😒 Galan just cheated out of spite in the spur of the moment and I quote said “FUCK IT” after confessing his unconditional love for sweet, sweet Dana...... > Galan’s need to get feral after hearing ’Sir’ no matter the gender? Or situation? I’m concerned.
Hold up cause Kaito was hilarious at all the wrong times LMAO
“So you’re not a complete idiot after all.” “Genji! If she wants to fucking die here, let her, Baka! Now move your ass!” “That’s exactly what we’re going to do. Fuck those students; this is about life or death. It’s everyone’s for themselves.”
THIS GUY!!!! 😭🤭
I don’t like lengthy reviews but I had to say my peace! Also I will be reading the third book because Kaito will be seeking revenge and I thought he was the best character -Tolerable at least.

Ever loved or feared a character in a book? This book will have your feelings all over the place. When you think you have figured it all out, the twists will prove you wrong. This story has everything - every genre mixed in a bowl that pops up with every new page. The anxiety level is so high especially when reaching the end. Now I think it’s time for a Nursery Rhyme to bring the litter patter of my heart back to normal !!!
Neel has done it again! I honestly thought I couldn't love anything more than the first book, how wrong I was! If you're looking for a book that's thrilling, twists and turns that'll keep you guessing, with some spicy spice and a dash of violence and gore, this is the book for you! This book takes place 4 years after the massacre, any theories you have should just be thrown away now because you'll never guess. I love the animated characters that are sprinkled throught the book, you finally get to put a face to the name Galan and boy oh boy is he HOT HOT! I binge read this in 2 days. It's more addicting than my morning cup of coffee! Do yourself a solid and READ, READ, READ!
I enjoyed this book quite a lot, as I did the first part. There was so much to dissect about the characters old and new, and the suspense kept me up, craving more. You, along the way, start collecting pieces to this puzzle but every now and then, your preparation isn't enough for what's to come. And the smut... if you thought book 1 scenes were spicy, get yourself a seat, darling. It made my heart race, that's all I can say 😉 There's so much to love about the writing itself, how the author constructed this world and brought everything together. If you're a fan of dark stories coated in mystery, I recommend this series. One more thing; the physical book has white text on black pages. Isn't that so cool? ☺️ Enjoy~ #darkeditions #neellatchman #comingforthecrown
O. M. G. This book has ADD! Please make it end!! He loves her, he sleeps with someone else. He loves her, he sleeps with someone else. She loves him but sleeps with someone else 🙄 The doppelgänger repeatedly coming back to life 😒 This is my first one star review. I’m so glad this struggle is over 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Definitely a psychological thriller.. I'm not even sure I followed what happened there at the end.. heard there will be a 3rd book.. I feel like I'm going to end up reading it, but might regret that decision?? 😅 I'm very confused.
What a ride...! Neel Latchman - Pioneer of getting husbands unexpected... gifts😅 (see: Chapter 20)
Move over dark romance writers, Neel Latchman deserves the crown for these books!
In this captivating macabre sequel to Broken Toys, I'm Broken Too picks up four years after the Salt Pines Acres massacre. The town is seeing what appears to be a copycat killer. Readers will be enthralled with this edge-of-your-seat, physiological thriller jouney to come full circle on the who, what's and why's of the first book, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. This book is a real... ahem... *Paige* turner.
Always able to articulate beautifully and true to his unique writing style, Neel keeps developing multifaceted, not basic or flat characters; some you hate to love, some you love to hate. Elegantly written with immersive scenes, the second book in the series draws the reader in with a mixture of emotions. It's like a delicious meal you want to keep devouring: savory, sweet, delectable, and spicy...
For those who have ever had the incomplete feeling of unrequited love or felt as if you were never good enough to be someone special to anyone, the wording Neel uses to portray Galan's struggle evokes a deep, relatable feeling throughout the book. "Love is a form of suicide; you survive physically, but the rest of you die." Galan's unrelenting struggle for the love he so much desires made my heart drop several times (almost as brutally as those hearts that the Ripper dropped...)
Spice level: Reading the first sentence of a "spicy" scene, I was like 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 and then the proceeding sentences pushed the spice level, making it 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶(yes, 6!)/5!!!
I wish I could experience this series for the first time again, and I keep recommending it to everyone! As mentioned in my review of the first book, I could definitely see this becoming a movie or an adult anime.
Honored to be an ARC reader on this book!

This book... I just really don't know how to describe how I feel...
At the end of Broken Toys, Galan's first love turned up, which made me dive straight into this too see what happened. Paige(If you read the book you'll know) appeared in the book at the start and towards the end. Causing conflict and all sorts of emotions in her wake. I've got to say I think she's disgusting, can saying with 100% certainty that I hate every inch of this woman... and she's not even real!!
When I think of this book, there is one scene that comes to mind, and its when the Doppelgangers came after the main characters for this book, but not matter how many time Galan or Kaori would, break their necks, slit their throats, burning their bodies after death, they'd still come back and murder whoever crossed their path. This had me so confused when I was reading it, I was like 'did this turn into some sort of paranormal/supernatural book?! how are they coming back to life!!!'
And this brings me to when Paige comes into the book, not too far from the end, where plot twist had my mouth hanging open like it was dislocated and couldn't close All the characters that appeared in the book, that became friends with Galan or ended up friends of Dana, where all part of Paige's plan to completely trick Galan into trusting them, befriending them, suspecting nothing was amis As Paige explained all this to Galan, it all started to make sense and i just had to sit back from the book for a minute to wrap my head around what had been revealed
----
I. Have. No. Words
The Ending!! Biggest plot twist I've ever seen I'm my freaking life!! but it was also like the plot twist had a plot twist too!! "I can't cope" that what I kept saying to my friend after each page a read towards the end of this book, the where to many twists and surprised they didn't jump out the book and choke me! I'm just speechless
After reading the first book I was unsure whether or not I wanted to read the second. I’m glad I did decide to read it. There were parts that felt slow and I’m not going to lie there was stuff that I ended up skimming over because it didn’t feel necessary. There were points where I thought “should I even finish it?”All in all, the last 20-25% the book really determined my rating because it was twist after twist after twist and I loved every moment. It really brought the entire story together for me. Even making me like book one more in hindsight because the way everything tied together nicely in the end. ABSOLUTE MADNESS. It was wonderfully chaotic.
This book is insane. I've never read a book with more twists and turns than this. You seriously never know what's going to happen until it's happened. The ending was a more WTF ending than any other book I've ever read too. Being the 2nd book in the series I can not even begin to describe this whole graphic story. It is a wild rollercoaster ride of shock. Also the book is in real life dark mode so it made it easier for me to read with my light sensitivity. In short this book is phycological thriller smut and I highly suggest the series read.
The black pages are beyond gorgeous as is the artwork. The roller-coaster ride from this book is insane. Have you ever blamed someone for something they didn't even know about? Have you then went absolutely crazy? Want to read about it? I am still twisted up about this series, my mind just won't stop. Apparently Neel Latchman won't stop either....a special edition with a bonus chapter releasing on October 30th. You are killing me!
Oh my lanta. The first book was good but this one exceeded my expectations. There was more spice and one crazy thing after another. All the reviews I read were 100% right when they said that this book will keep you on your toes and just when you think you know what’s going to happen, you don’t. I couldn’t put this book down. I read when I woke up, at work, and when I came home and it was so worth it.
I really enjoyed this book, just like the first. The suspense kept me up, I’m a sucker for suspense. I like being sucked into a story and not really knowing where it’s going and being drawn in by those mysterious suspense moments. And the spice is nice. I love a book with well written spice. Neel is a fantastic writer and this book and book one are proof of that.
I devoured this book. This book has it all, F***Ed up MC, Psycho thriller mixed with some smut. The twists and turns of this story are NOT normal just when you think you have it ..NOPE you don't. It took me by surprise every time.
Now, it is very important that you read the triggers online before buying this duo-book set, now I understand why it is so hard to get your hands on a copy.
saw a lot saying the second book was better than the first …. NOPE they are equally as bad. i don’t want to talk badly about someone’s work but like, WTF did i even read 🥴 i think this whole idea for a story was a total bust or was just executed extremely poorly. it’s impossible to take anything seriously in this book. i’m so sorry neel but this was just NOT it
You’re holding your breath at every turn - either from all the sexy times and/or from the thrilling. Erotic, heartbreaking, loving, sexy, scary, and insane are a few words to describe how you feel while reading these intense chapters.
This is my first time ever enjoying a sequel as much as the original. This book had everything! It had the psychological plot twists that I needed, action that I didn’t know I needed, and spice that I needed so much that I’m gonna need a book three!!!
Didn’t think I would like it more than the first book , but here we are , this book was amazing. I loved everything about it. The storyline was so fun I don’t want to spoil anything for you so I definitely recommend you check it out.
2.5 this book was pretty bad, the ending tied everything together which redeemed it a bit but overall its a no for me. The fact theres most likely a 3rd book im mind blown like you couldnt get everything out in the over 1000 pages. Smh
I’m sorry but wtf. That was worse than the first one. 2 stars I think is generous and that’s only because I finished the book. Thoughts and scenes were jumbled The characters just… Yakuza? How was that a good idea?
All I can say is WHAT THE HELL!! I don’t like to say anything negative about an authors work, but this was smh!!!! The first book was ok. This just didn’t make sense. Too many typographical errors. It jumped and sometimes just didn’t make any sense. Sorry Neel Latchman.
I don’t know how but even though the writing was just as confusing and terrible in this one I still couldn’t stop reading. Really I think I was just so hopeful that at some point it would all be explained and make sense. But here I am disappointed again.
