Judy Nunn (born 13 April 1945) is an Australian actress and author.

Judy Nunn's career has been long, illustrious and multifaceted. After combining her internationally successful acting career with scriptwriting for television and radio, Judy decided in the 80s to turn her hand to prose. The result was two adventure novels for children, EYE IN THE STORM and EYE IN THE CITY, which remain extremely popular, not only in Australia but in Europe. Embarking on adult fiction in the early 90s, Judy's three novels, THE GLITTER GAME, CENTRE STAGE and ARALUEN, set respectively in the worlds of television, theatre and film, became instant bestsellers. Her subsequent bestsellers, KAL, BENEATH THE SOUTHERN CROSS, TERRITORY, PACIFIC, HERITAGE and FLOODTIDE confirm her position as one of Australia’s leading popular novelists.

Oh, I have to say this was utterly entertaining. I love a good juicy soap story and this one was filled with seamy details, a lot of wicked behind-the-scenes gossip and a twist that was startling, a twist I did not see coming, nah ah, nope. Good one, Ms Nunn!

Set in Sydney, The Glitter Game is a light hearted look at the competitive world of television production with the power driven, egocentric executives, actors and script writers. Knowing Judy Nunn starred in the Aussie soap Home And Away made me wonder how much of her story was a crossover from real life. A fun read with a few twists in the tale.

I usually like Judy Nunn's work but this one was in a setting that holds little interest for me.
So many characters to keep track of, too.
The twist in the tale, coming right at at the end, definitely surprised me!

I thought this book had too many characters and too many similar characters (paul/sidney and vicky/narelle). This made it impossible to introduce them all in a prologue and this was to the stories detriment.

It was also quite a depressing story although with recent events brought to light through the metoo movement it can be believed that the tv industry is as described.

On a positive, the final reveal took me completely by surprise so in the end I felt the story redeemed itself a little.

Love love loved this read. Oh Judy, you know how to capture an audience. The stories of the TV industry reminded me of my time in advertising agency land and the sordid details and twists made for a great page turner.

Too many characters ! There were way too many characters and I got confused on who's who. Wasn't much of a plot either . This is Judy's first novel so I'll give her some slack as her future books are much better than this drivel .

Once again a great novel from Judy Nunn. Judy has the great ability to put a fictional story alongside the truth of Australian history.
