I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
At school, I was mostly disinterested in every subject except creative writing, for which, at age ten, I won my first award. However, calling it my first award suggests that there have been more, which there have not. Accolades may come but, in the meantime, I am having a ball writing mystery stories and crime thrillers and will claim to have more than a hundred books forming an unruly queue in my head as they clamor to get out.
Now retired from the military, I live in the south-east corner of England with a pair of lazy sausage dogs. Surrounded by rolling hills, brooding castles, and vineyards, I doubt I will ever leave, the beer is just too good.

This is the 7th book in the Patricia Fisher Cruise Ship series. This book takes place off ship. Although this book was off the top like the previous one, I still can say that it was a fun read.
Since Patty and her 7 friends found the blue sapphire ( in book 1), the young Maharajah has invited Patty and her friends to his coronation. A jet that the 8 friends are riding in almost gets shot down even before reaching the country. When meeting the future Maharajah, Patty finds him young, rude and crude. Each of the 8 are given a valet. Patty's valet informs her that he is confident that the real Maharajah has been kidnapped. This leads the merry group all over the palace involving snakes, imposter guards, dungeons and finally finding the lost Majarajah.

Outrageous fun, although I think you would have to have read the previous books in the series to appreciate the characters.
To thank Patricia for having returned the blue sapphire to his country, the maharaja of Zangrabar has invited her to his coronation. They are to be flown by private jet and to be showered with every luxury during their 4 day stay.
Their flight starts well, and they are enjoying the luxurious plane, complete with spa, when suddenly they find themselves under attack. They do make it to Zangrabar, but still find themselves in danger.
Mrs Fisher and friends defend themselves from sabre waving palace guards and a vicious vizier as they attempt to free their friends from the palace dungeon and to escape from the palace harem.
The former cleaning lady manages to save the young maharaja and see him crowned, and the country of Zangrabar will prosper because of her efforts.
Once again, there is no stress because we know Mrs Fisher will save the day.

Patricia and friends were invited to the Maharajah of Zangrabar's coronation as honoured guests, after they had recovered the nation's precious sapphire. The gang thought that they were in for a week of pampering, good food, fun, rest and relaxation, but they were very far from it. As they journeyed to Zangrabar, their plane was attacked, followed by a cobra being introduced into Patricia's room, 2 of her friends arrested, accused and locked up, a sword wielding masked man determined to kill her and other instances that made them feel that perhaps they were not as welcomed as they had been led to believe. But that was certainly not the Maharajah's intention - it was just that something was well amiss.
I thoroughly enjoy Patricia Fisher and her friends and their madcap adventures. This series has made me laugh out loud, many times and yet it is exciting and fast paced in places, and even had my heart in my mouth on one or two occasions. Totally 5 stars, as always, Mr Higgs! Well done, you.

Receiving an invitation to the coronation of the new maharajah of Zangrabar, Patricia and her crew is off on another adventure. Prepared for the splendor and spectacle of the coronation, the group is excited, until bad things start to happen. It’s up to Patricia and friends to defend themselves and attempt to protect the young leader of Zangrabar.
As with all of this author’s books, hilarity is afoot, as is danger. I listened to the audiobook version of this book and loved it. The writing is quick paced and clever. The narration helped to bring the words to life. You won’t be disappointed if you give this book a try. While it’s the seventh book in this series, it’s easy to read as a stand alone.
I received a free copy of this book from the author through Audible. I thank all involved for their generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reaction to reading this book.

Thank goodness it's fiction!
All is not well in the kingdom of Zangrabar, which was saved by Patricia's clever recovery of their crown jewel in book 1. Someone tries to shoot the plane carrying Patricia and her friends right out of the sky on their way to the coronation ceremony! Although the hijinks the gang has to go through get as absurd as the Keystone Cops more than once, it turns out that they are uniquely suited to save the young Maharajah and his land from a fate worse than death. If harem life in reality resembled this charade in Zangrabar, it would be unforgivable. Luckily we can freely laugh because it is about as authentic as an adventure of Herbie the Love Bug. Patricia is truly a treasure herself.

The gang is off for the coronation of the Maharaja of Zangrabar. Patricia, Anna, Jermaine, Barbie, Hidecki , Akamu and Rick.
Things at the palace are not as they seem. The rap talking, male chauvanist "Maharaja" is a fake.
Now Patricia and the team must find out why, and where the real king is, before the imposter is crowned the king of Zangrabar!
Danger lurks in every corner.
Even little Anna has a part to play in protecting Patricia. And she stops by to visit some new friends. (Snicker)!
Patricia has her own troubles. She and her team must not only dodge assassins, Patricia must evade the advances of the besotted Lord Edgar Postelwaite.
It's so much fun to watch Patricia solve the mystery.

Book 7 in the series, and this time Patricia isn't on board the ship. She's visiting the Maharaja of Zangrabar. The Maharaja invited Patricia and a few of her friends to his coronation.
Now they are all there after a near death experience on the airplane, and things go from bad to worse from there.
There were so many attempts to get rid of Patricia and her friends, I couldn't put the book down until I finished it haha.
Great story, and as always I look forward to the next book in this series :)

I am addressing this review to the author and I hope he reads it or someone tells him about it. Steve you are a prolific and creative writer and I love your Patricia Fisher series but you need to get better proofreaders. You need someone who actually reads the book not a person that speed reads/scans/spell checks. Some examples from this book alone “Rick clapped him on the arm as he past.” “Anna, where do you find that?” “Even with our best intentions, one will slip inside the place every now and then.” That was supposed to say palace not place.
Steve I will continue to read your books because they are very entertaining but I will not rate them any higher then three stars nor will I spend a lot of money for them because the typos irritate me and interrupt the flow as I am reading.

A Wild ride!
I do not believe thete is such a thing ad a bad Steve Higgs book. This was no exception. That said, I felt more lost than usual in Patricia Fisher's leaps in logic, though by story's end I knew what was going on. I still wasn't too sure how Patricia got to her conclusions at all. I intend to re-read the book and see if it makes a little more sense. Again I stress that Steve's book are hysterical at the very least. Read them - they are like sex - the worst I ever had was wonderful!

Patricia is smart, determined and brave, all qualities a good protagonist needs to have. She's also humble and quite funny. This is the seventh book in the Cruise Ship mysteries and it just keeps getting better and better. The plots are clever and twisty and the characters are like friends by now. And who can resist a cutie like Anna? I'll be sorry when the series ends.

Mission for the Maharajah: Patricia Fisher Mysteries is the seventh book in the "A Humorous Cruise Ship Cozy Mystery" series. This entertaining story follows Patricia as she and the gang head to Zanzibar for the coronation ceremony. With wonderful characters, danger, attempted murder, secrets, deception, and lies, this amusing book kept my attention from start to finish.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

I love Cruise Ship Mysteries, and I love this Patricia Fisher series.
I love Cruise Ship Mysteries, and I love the Patricia Fisher series. This book was fun and fast-paced action. All the characters were great, but I did miss the Captain and their budding romance. I highly recommend this book and the entire series. Can't wait for the next book, I wish it wasn't ending so soon.

Zangrabarian Maharajas
I don’t write a retelling of the story. I will write that I have enjoyed the series so far and will continue to read the final two books. If you are incapable of putting aside the belief that a story line should not contain far fetched premises this tale may not be for you. If you relish the idea of a fantastical plot detail or two (but nothing paranormal or the like) you’ll be very entertained. I highly recommend this book and series.

Another fun read!
This storyline is fun. Patricia is a 53 year old woman who is finding herself after her husband 's indiscretion. Patricia and her friends are well defined and likeable. The plot and subplots move quickly with twists that makes it hard to put the book down. Can't wait to see where Patricia 's journey takes her.

Another exciting adventure
Another unputdownable story! There are bits that made my heart race even though I hadn't been to the gym because I am getting over an operation. Patty is a great advertiser for getting fit in middle age. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series

Better and better…
I love this series. Each book is better than the previous one. Steve Higgs’ imaginative writing is easy to read and delicious to consume. I also love the notes he leaves to the reader at the end of each book, updating his life events. Excellent series, highly recommended. Now, on to Book 8…

The best Patricia yet! The new maharajah has a mystery for Patricia to solve. She and her friends are invited to his coronation. The fun starts with a fighter jet trying to shoot down their plane. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I'm not as fond of Anna as I am of Bull and Dozer in the Blue Moon series. But she is cute, loyal and just as curious as the boys. Recommended.

Awesome
Not as exciting as book 6. But it did answer all the questions of how Mrs. Fisher came into her money. It did make a good point about countries who still treat women as slaves. Not allowing them to get an education. This book brought more knowledge about other countries in regard for things that we take for granite. . .

Another great read.
I love the Patricia Fisher series. This one was even better than the last. Will Patricia, her dog Anne, and friends save the Maharaja. You will need to read to find out. You will laugh out loud while they do what they do. You won't be able to stop reading until the last page.

Lovely

Fun cozy mystery

Another wonderful book
I really enjoyed this one. Lots of action and on dry land, mostly.
The usual crew of characters were present and accounted for, at least some of the time. Read it and figure out what I mean.

An interesting coronation
The owner of a big sapphire Patricia found in the first book has invited her and her friends to his coronation. What happens between going and returning to the ship is exciting.

OMGosh! Such fun I just can’t quit reading once I start. Always a good mystery, strong characters and a lot of laughs with the drama. I was first drawn to Patricia because she is a bit of a klutz just like I am, I’m glad that hasn’t changed.

The opulence of the Aurelia is outdone by the trip to Zangrabar but it doesn't make Patricia want to stay there. It is a dangerous place to be and with less back up available the team has to really work to get things done. Help is available as they make connections to survive this adventure.

Just not that interesting. Too much detail, too wordy. What is the obsession with breasts? This seems like a series for women - I think the male author has misread his audience.
