There’s only one problem with Holly’s grand scheme… There’s much more to sexy Zane than she imagined.
Will Holly be able to let Zane go when the time comes? Will Zane’s surprising secret ruin everything?
Here is a Top 10 list from Ann about her likes, dislikes, and oddities:
1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin. 2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle. 3. If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all. 4. There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return. 5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above. 6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word. 7. Dorothy was right. There's no place like home. 8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy,' but I can't seem to control this particular quirk. 9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain. 10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!

The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙🖤💜💖 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍 Character development: 🤨😟😳🥰
The heroine:Holly Hennessey - she is a jewelry designer working in Indianapolis. She goes out to her friends matchmaking even at a local bar and while there, she stops off in the bathroom to take a pregnancy test. It turns out she is pregnant, and the only person she has been with in a long time was a one night stand she’d had while depressed and drunk and she doesn’t even remember what the guy looked like.
The Hero:Zane Alexander - he is a wealthy man who spent the best night of his life with a woman who ghosted him the next morning. When he couldn’t stop thinking about her, he decided to track her down and found her in a bar in Indianapolis.
The Story: Holly is basically knocked for a loop when she finds out she is pregnant and doesn’t quite know what to do. She then meets the handsome Zane who she blurts out everything to, including the fact that she had been depressed about her ex and now she has to go home to the Florida Keys for Christmas and will have to attend her exes engagement party while there. So Zane suggests she doesn’t go alone.
This was a fun little book and when I say little, it was only 152 pages, but seemed much shorter. I love the fake engagement trope and the surprise baby trope so this was great. Holly was adorable, and her family, especially her gran, was quirky and cute. Zane was a genuinely great guy who really liked everything about Holly and I thought it was funny how she thought he was too good for her but he just really wanted to be with her.
Completely unbelievable fast paced holiday romance. I mean, anything is possible, but this was so over the top. I only refer to it as a holiday romance because it occurred around Christmas. I didn't find anything romantic about it.
I didn't like Holly. Her behavior was not cute. Her accusation against Zane was both misleading and irresponsible. I was surprised that it never crossed her mind with any level of true curiosity who this man was, where he came from, or why he was willing to do this for her.
Zane seemed a little desperate to me. He hadn't spent 24 hrs with Holly, and there was nothing about her that I could see to make him fall so in love with her. I could see why she would fall for him. Not only was he attractive, he was more than a decent guy, and he had money.
I thought this would turn out to be a cute, surprise pregnancy holiday story. I believe there were 20+ chapters that were very short. I read the book in less than an hour. There didn't see to be enough to develop any connection or chemistry. There was nothing there for a relationship to develop. It was disappointing.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
This is an offshoot of The Man of the Month series. It kicks off with Holly finding herself in the family way 👶 at the December MOTM unveiling. From there, things go topsy-turvy and a tad disgusting.
I laughed, cried, shook my head, and laughed some more as Holly and Zane stumble through the crazy maze they've stepped into. The bonus epilogue takes the insanity to a new plateau. 😂🔥💜🎉
Taking A Risk For Their Forever - After Holly’s hotel tryst whilst trying to get over her heartbreak, she discovered she was pregnant, but she just couldn’t remember the specifics of who her tryst was with. Zane was ecstatic when he found Holly again, but he was thrown into a tizzy, when he discovers she didn’t remember him, but her shocking piece of news, turned everything around for him.
Their agreement was meant to be temporary, but Zane was keeping a secret that could derail his plans of being in Holly’s life. Fortunately, even though the revelation of the secret caused chaos initially, it ultimately became the catalyst for them to acknowledge their destined lives. The characters really wormed their way into my heart and also totally blew my mind, as the story grabbed my attention. This is a definite must read that will keep you entertained.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Holly Hennessey enjoyed a drunken one-night-stand and can’t even remember her partner. When she finally discovers she is pregnant, she is in an embarrassing predicament. Her family wants her to come home for the holidays. With her ex-boyfriend, Liam and his new fiancée also attending, she can’t stand the humiliation of going there pregnant and alone.
Zane Alexander, hearing her awkward situation, agrees to be her fake date and the father of her child. Then after the holidays, they can pretend to break up and all will be well. Did Zane agree to this arrangement to give them a chance to get closer? Does he want a real relationship with Holly? Or does he have his own secret reasons for offering his help?
This book was short and sweet. Normally I don’t care for the pregnancy trope but it was fine here. I was starting to get a little annoyed with Holly when gran called her out as being a jerk and she realized gran was right. I wish the epilogue was more like after the baby or if they get married (or both).
No one can deceive us quite as skillfully as we deceive ourselves. This story mixes a fake relationship with a second chance and all the magic of the holiday season to give us a sweet and spicy little read. I pretty much loved Zane for the entire story, even though I knew the secret he was holding back was going to bite him in the butt later. Holly, I really liked until I learned how she was blaming Zane for her own actions. I adored gran and I’m glad she was able to show Holly the error of her ways. That feisty old lady was my favorite character in the book. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout as part of the box set.
My first holiday romance book. Feels like a Hallmark movie but a tad more sexual. The plot and love interest makes it go from pretty cute to cringey to straight up icky.
A very happy accident This book is about Holly and Zane. Holly is at a Man of the Month Club event and has just found out she’s pregnant. That’s the result of a drunken one-night-stand after finding out her ex was engaged to be married. Unfortunately, Holly also doesn’t remember a lot about that hot, passionate night she spent with some random dude in the Florida Keys. She meets Zane at the event and shares her predicament with him. He kindly offers to pretend to be her fiancée and baby daddy when she needs to go back to Florida for her ex’s engagement party. Little does she realise that he knows and feels more than she thinks. He will try to make the most of this not-so-fake Holly-date, and try to convince her that they belong together. I really enjoyed this story. It was sweet, steamy and funny! The characters were great - Gran was an absolute crack-up! This was the second time I’d read this book, and it hadn’t lost any of its appeal and charm! I give this book four and a half stars. I received a free copy of this book set via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Holly’s Fake Date for Christmas was a great read by Ann Omasta. Holly Hennessy is a jewelry designer who's life never goes quite right. She finds herself pregnant after a drunken night of debauchery. Holly's family wants her to come to the Florida Keys for the holidays. But her ex-boyfriend, Liam, and his fiancé will be there. Holly comes up with a plan so that she doesn't look like a fool. Zane Alexander will be the perfect fake date for Christmas. She convinces him to be her pretend boyfriend and baby daddy. They will then stage a break up after the holidays. She never thought that Zane could be everything to her. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
This book (more like a short story, really) isn't very well written, and the characters are so poorly written that they are more like cardboard cut-outs. Holly is immature, Zane is too nice to be believable, and, sadly, all of the other characters are way over-the-top in their fakeness (the ex-boyfriend), goofiness (the grandmother), or grumpiness (the mother and father). This reads more like a college English Comp assignment than a published book. It's not even a good way to pass a couple of hours.
I picked up this book for something seasonal to read around Christmas. I was pretty disappointed with it for a lot of reasons. It was very unrealistic and short. I didn't realize it was a novella. Novellas don't bother me, though, but this one was really rushed and very, very unrealistic. In fact, my review might be longer than the novella.
Here's my take on it. It starts out with the FMC in the bathroom of a bar. She just finds out she's pregnant. I'm not putting this as a spoiler, since it's literally the first line of the book. Holly had taken her previous break up hard and had a drunken one-night stand with some random guy she met while she was out. That resulted in her being pregnant. Okay, no judgement. It happens and that is probably the most realistic thing of the story. But! Holly goes from being freaked out about being pregnant (again, realistic) to basically planning her child's college education in the space of one thought. I mean, sure, she could get there, but she was so freaked out that she found out she was pregnant, and her feelings switched in like 10 seconds. Also, as the story goes on, Holly says she hadn't been feeling well for months (I'm guessing she's about 3 months pregnant in the beginning) and couldn't figure out why. Either she's incredibly dense or she doesn't understand basic biology. Especially when the story gets going, and all of a sudden everyone is remarking on how pregnant she looks and how her pooch is sticking out. I'm kind of wondering if she hung a neon sign around her neck, given how big of a deal her suddenly noticeable baby belly is to the story.
Okay, now enters the MMC, Zane. He's charming, gorgeous, and mysterious. We meet him when Holly faints and he just happens to be right there to catch her. Next, we're in his head when Holly is eating a large pickle, and of course, Zane's mind goes immediately to Holly giving him a blow job. Seriously? You literally just met this chick. So, we move on from that, and Holly immediately spills everything to this guy she just met - her being pregnant, her ex cheating on her and dumping her, and her having that one-night stand with some guy she ghosted the next day. Because Holly has no friends and tells strangers everything? OH, but we find out at the end of this chapter that Zane is...drum roll please...Holly's baby daddy! And she was apparently so good in bed that he stalked her across the country and around the town she lived in to try to meet up with her again and remind him of their night together and to find out why she left him. Really? I mean, we find out later he works with his dad, so I guess he went in and told his dad that he needed to find this chick who rocked his world and then disappeared, so he's going to put his corporate job in his family's hotel business on hold for an undefined time to go find her. I'm sure that went over really well. But it must have because that's what he did. She doesn't remember, so now he's using her plan of being fake fiancés to go to her ex-boyfriend's engagement party with her and remind her of who he is.
They travel together to Florida and not once does Holly ask him anything about himself. (Again, dense or just plain stupid?) He upgrades her to first class on the plane, gets them an upgrade on the rental car, and then pays for a suite at the hotel, and she never even asks him what he does, where he's from, where his family is, etc. She just continues to think he's a bartender and comes up with a stupidly complicated backstory to convince everyone that they are a couple. Because, you know, they need a meet cute to tell everyone at the party. We meet her family, who can be summed up like this: Grandmom and Dad fight constantly, Mom constantly puts her hand on her head dramatically and says she has a headache because they are fighting, and then Holly gets embarrassed. Oh, and Granny hits on Zane constantly, even when Holly says she's pregnant and he's the dad. Honestly, I know why Holly was getting embarrassed by her family. They were cute for maybe 10 seconds and then got really annoying. They were all so one-note. They had nothing going on other than that one defining trait.
Speaking of one-note, Holly's ex and his new fiancé were so flat and cliched. He was the asshat womanizer and she was the mean girl bridezilla. That's it. That's all they were. The only thing they were there for was to set up a kiss between Zane and Holly and have Holly suddenly remember the whole night with Zane when they kiss. She gets pissed at him, because he didn't tell her who he was from the start. You mean like yesterday, Holly, when you came up with this great plan? I would have been more concerned that he followed me from Florida to Indiana, but to each their own. So, she storms off and won't talk to him, and Granny goes to tell her that she's being the bad guy in this situation. No one is apparently upset that he followed her and stalked her for months. But, okay. Everything's fine because his family owns a bunch of hotels, and they are going to give Holly job setting up jewelry shops in all of their hotels (she designs jewelry). Because, of course, they have to have a happy ending.
There were so many issues with this story. It maybe could have been redeemed if it wasn't a novella and if it was so stupidly unrealistic. Every character in this story was just someone who had one characteristic and that's it. There's no depth, no background, no tension, no thought. Nothing.
My rating: 1.5 stars rounded to 2 stars.

This was weird. A lot happened in this book, it needed to be longer as the pacing was really strange as it started somewhere and then it would skip to days later it was confusing. It was the pregnancy trope which wasn't written well but I am willing to look past it. The plot twist again it felt like it was chucked in there to make it all tie in but it didn't I was sat there questioning why would this be your baseline. Odd. Just odd.
This started out kinda good, I guess? It has 20 chapters and an epilogue, but the chapters are quite short. Around chapter 14 or something (I can't really remember), I didn't really like it anymore because it felt like they were creating massive problems out of some minor trivial complications, I just don't really like Zane and Holly much.
The authors have given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Holly and Zane and does not let go. A one night stand a few months ago, while on vacation, is enough the change the lives of both of them.

Holly and Zane are meeting again. Only Holly has no clue. You see the book opens with her taking a pregnancy test that says, yup you got it she’s about to be a mommy. There’s just one small little problem, suddenly, it dawns on her who the father of her baby is. She had only been intimate with one man in the past few, well twenty months. But, she can’t remember him and that is when she faints. The next thing she knows a sexy man is carrying her to the cushioned booth in the bar. Her friend was just about to announce her as the perfect date for, Mr. December. The dating matchmaking service friend, Phoebe owns. The reason for her moving to, Baltimore in the first place was to get away from, Miami after, Liam her ex started dating, Bella. She was born in, Miami and after a little more than four years she and, Liam broke up. Soon after he starts dating, Bella. Giving you the impression it was, too fast if you know what I mean. While drinking a soda and eating a pickle she starts to tell, Zane her plight. When her parents call saying they bought her a ticket for, Christmas to go home, and that they are all going to, Liam’s engagement. She is now totally out of sorts. He asks if it is because she still loves, Liam. At first, she says, yes. Then, she says, no. It’s just she’s going to her ex’s engagement party alone, pregnant, and she doesn’t know who the baby daddy is. Zane comes to the rescue. What she doesn't know is a lot, but he hopes to win her over. However, she believes that the baby daddy took advantage of her, which is not the case. What she’s also finding out is, that Zane may not be a flashy guy, however, he lives in a different zip code than she ever could dream of. By the comforts, he treats her to during their time with her crazy family. What a laugh-out-loud story. Two sexually charged people who created a baby out of love at least by one and once the cloud lifts she realizes it, too. Her gran is so outlandish with her remarks you can’t help, but roar with laughter. So, if you are offended by a very senior citizen open with flirting and her and her granddaughter’s sexual wellbeing, not your book. Otherwise, get it now.😆
Holly was at the bar where her friend has the monthly meeting to find your match. Holly was in the bathroom getting sick because she just found out she was pregnant. She told her friend to start without her. After getting out of the bathroom, Holly was still not feeling well. Getting up to fast she felt faint and then she was caught by a gorgeous man but ended up getting sick on his shoes. Holly explained to this perfect stranger how she just found out she was pregnant and had no idea who the father was. Zane was shocked by this news and cleaned up and continued talking to Holly. She proceeds to tell Zane that she is needing a fake date for her ex fiance engagement party. Zane tells her he will be her date and be the father to her unborn baby as well. Zane didn't tell her who he really was but he was extremely wealthy and even number her ticket to first class. Holly just thought he was being nice but Zane had actually been looking for Holly for sometime. At the party, she introduces Zane to everyone and they started getting to know each other but something rings a bell in her memory. She remembers the night she got drunk, throwing up on his shoes and how they spent the night together. Upset thinking he took advantage of her, Holly jumped to conclusions until Zane explained everything to her. No more needing to fake anything, Zane made it clear he had been looking for her since that night they were together. Now they are a real couple and will raise the baby together.

Looking for some humorous lite reading. Then look no further as you have found a story with the zanest grandmother around that lives with her daughter and son-in-law. They all live in Key West, Florida while the granddaughter, Holly lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. When she was in Florida last her ex-boyfriend of four years threw her a curve ball by announcing his engagement to another woman. Holly went to a local hotel got drunk following into bed with a stranger. Months later there was a meeting with a group of friends at the local bar for the monthly man of the month matchmaker to be announced while Holly sat in the restroom having discovered, she was pregnant. She returned to the table to learn, she was the best match for this month's man. Life started going down hill from there for Holly or so she thought. She blurted out to Zane, she was pregnant. Actually, he had came to the city looking for her, because he was her one night stand. He came to convince her to marry him. She has him pretending to be her fake boyfriend/baby daddy. When for him it was anything but fake. Enjoy this holiday fun filled sizzler of a read.

Phoebe is back at her matchmaking game and is getting ready to announce December's perfect-match couple. Meanwhile, Holly is staring at the pee stick and feeling queasy, but she needs to get back to the party. She looks up and who catches her eye but the man with whom she had a one night stand a few months ago. He remembers her vividly, and she's pretty sure that Zane was the guy. Now that she knows she's pregnant, she can ask Zane to be her "fake husband" and introduce him as her baby's father. Holly makes plans with Zane to spend the holidays with her family in Key West. Her ex is getting married and she's expected to be at the engagement party. With Zane at her side, they'll enjoy the fake holi-date, with Holly as his Holly-date...for the holidays! Clever, cheesy and doubtlessly perfect! Holly is the embodiment of goofiness and, in her infinite wisdom, momentarily contemplates keeping the pee stick as a cherished memory! I loved the trip in the Jeep across the Overseas Highway on the way to Key Largo, picturing the sunlight and miles of ocean as far as the eye could see. And, yes, I could even see Holly's first-class, over-sized, crystal-encrusted sunglasses on top of her head. There are so many adorable characters and Gran is the best of them all! Loved this story!
Holly is at the monthly meeting of her matchmaking group when she realizes that she is pregnant from a drunken one night stand and she doesn’t remember the man she was with. When she starts to pass out she is caught by Zane and she explains her dilemma to him after she throws up on his shoes. They talk and she explains her predicament to him and he agrees to pretend a fake relationship where he will be her fiancé while they visit her parents and attend her ex’s engagement party. Why did Zane agree to the fake relationship and will they grow closer on this trip?
I enjoyed this fun story with Holly who is hot mess and Zane who is handsome, charming and rich. Holly didn’t remember any details of her past encounter and Zane is hoping to get to know her better. Holly’s family were hilarious and I loved the interactions with her Gran and her dad. The epilogue was a fantastic ending for their story.

This is a Surprise Baby Holiday Romance and it is Holly and Zane's story. Holly is.a jewellery designer and after a drunken one night stand she finds out that she is pregnant and unfortunately she doesn't remember who the father is and then on top of that her family wants her to spend the holidays with them but she knows that her ex boyfriend and fiance will be there so she decides to come up with a plan f a fake boyfriend and that is where Zane comes in to the picture. Zane can't seem to forget the one night that he spent with Holly and he is determined to find her but when he does things are about to get even more complicated. I really enjoyed reading this book as it was a real page turner that had you laughing along with great chemistry between Holly and Zane that you can feel sizzling off the pages and it was so well written worth reading and I can't wait to read more book's in the future.
Do you love quirky, outrageous characters and insta love stories? Then this book is for you! Holly may not remember her one stand from a few months ago very clearly, but she does have a souvenir from that night to remind her that it happened. On the day she realizes she is pregnant by a man she can’t remember, she comes face to face with a charming stranger. Zane is wealthy, handsome and very keen on helping Holly when she faints in front of him. Holly is in quite a dither about going home for a Christmas, a party for her ex and his new fiancée and having to admit she’s pregnant. She is surprised and delighted that Zane offers to go home with her and be her fake baby daddy. Her trip home is full of surprises, confrontations and crazy characters, some even related to Holly! Not to mention that Zane has a secret that he has been keeping from Holly. The whole book is hilarious, very entertaining and delightful.

This is fast paced easy quick read that is entertaining, witty, secret baby, one night stand, fake boyfriend, second chance, with an interesting plot. Holly has a one night stand and ends of pregnant. She’s going home to the Florida Keys for the holiday and her ex-boyfriend Liam and his fiancé Bella will be in the Keys also. Zane meets Holly when she throws on his shoes but does remember that the two met previously and had a one night stand with her ending up pregnant. Holly needs a date to return to the Keys and she asks Zane to be her fake date and her baby daddy. Loved Holly’s Gran.
So what happens when Holly remembers her one night stand with Zane, how will Zane feel when he finds out that he is about to be a daddy, how does Liam take it when he sees Holly and Zane together, is there an HEA store Holly and Zane?

I was so happy to get to read this story, as the Man of the Month series ended with Phoebe's story but at the beginning of that story you see Holly and how she gives up her shot with Mr. December. However, she has her own crazy true love/soulmate story now and it's just perfect. Holly's family is an absolute whirl of craziness and I think that just adds a lightness to the story and keeps you smiling the whole way through while also slightly cringing inside, as we all know of a family who are just like Holly's. The scene with Holly's Gran slapping Zane on the butt was absolutely hilarious. I wish either of my Grandma's could have been half that bold. The bonus epilogue that you can sign up to receive at the end of the story continues the tale with more of the family and hilarity you expect from them as well as some touching moments with Holly and Zane welcoming their new baby.

If you are looking for a cute holiday book to lift your spirits, look no further. This book was so funny and I loved reading every word. It follows Ms. Omasta's and Ms. Love's Men of the Month Club. It's the December meeting for the MOMC and Holly is in the ladies' room taking a pregnancy test. She is supposed to be paired with Mr. December, but that goes down the drain when she finds out the result. Holly then proceeds to faint and then throw-up on the guy who catches her. Then Holly comes up with this genius plan that her rescuer can go home with her around Christmas pretending to be her fiancé and baby daddy in front of her wacky family and jerk of an ex-boyfriend. Little does Holly know, but her fake date has a couple of surprises of his own and just perhaps they might not wind up faking it at all.

So annoying, why can the epilogue not be included in the ebook? I just don't understand it. All the way through I thought I'd be leaving a 4 or 5 star review and would have but for being made to download epilogue leaving email to subscribe. I feel annoyed not to have the real ending. I bought the book expecting to get the full book but sadly to get the epilogue of the wedding and HEA you have to subscribe leaving email subscribing to emails. I did actually enjoy the short story but so frustrated by the lack of the ending my review is more on that than the book, it this has put me off buying more from this author.
When I buy a book I expect to get the full book without jumping through hoops giving out my email and Details. I feel like I hadn't had what I paid for, I didn't get the ending.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is an interesting romance that is a one night stand, surprise pregnancy, fake romance and a second chance around the holidays, all rolled into one. Zane was a great character and tries to keep his secrets close. Holly is just a mess of a woman, no way around it, a mess. Her life spiraled and kept going. Between her family and the next surprises to come her way, there will have to be some holiday magic to turn things around. I liked the characters and the story. It's unbelievable and ott at times but that's how their love story plays out. A short read with humor, jaw dropping moments, family, secrets, high heat and love.

This was a really cute story. Holly finds that after a drunken night with a stranger she finds that she's pregnant. Holly has been asked to come home for the holidays but she has a problem as her ex will be there with his fiance. She explains her problem to Zane and then faints and gets sick all over his shoes. Zane agrees to go as her fake boyfriend and her baby daddy. Zane is thrilled to finally get a chance to get to know Holly better as he has a secret that he needs to tell Holly. When she hears the secret will she still want to be with Zane? I loved the storyline and the characters but Holly's Gran was the cutest. So glad that there is an epilogue.

This book was fun to read. Holly needed a date for her ex-s engagement party. She meets Zane at an auction and quickly throws up on this shoes. She is pregnant but doesn't know the father as it was a one night stand that she had also thrown up on his shoes. He agrees to be her plus one and hilarity just keeps happening. I love her Granny and her Dad's interaction. It's so funny. At the party, she quickly realizes that losing her ex was a blessing - she just wish she knew who her baby daddy was. Oh wait, she does. A very surprise ending. Very cute story.
