Mail-Order Bride Trouble

Rate this book
She can’t outrun her past.

All Coralee wanted to do was start over. She doesn’t believe in love at first sight but she’s desperate for peace and security and believes she will find it as a mail-order bride. Lanigan is night-and-day different from her outlaw brother and the criminals she’s used to. It isn’t long before she begins to trust him. Maybe even… love him?

Lanigan still has nightmares of being buried in a coal mine, shot, and left for dead by a gang of outlaws. The only thing he wants is a quiet life with his new wife, Cora.

But when danger threatens, Lanigan discovers just how quick Cora is with a pistol. What other secrets is she hiding? And what will he do when an outlaw comes to take Cora for himself?

Linda Ford

Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.

Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and eventually a non-fiction book about tuberculosis set in the 1930s and 1940s (Touched By The White Plague). But romance had always been her first love and she turned to writing love stories. She is multi-published in the CBA market.

She lives on a small ranch in Alberta, Canada, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren.

Wonderful series. Just what we need in today's world.

Love love love this series. Each one just keeps getting better and better. This one contained some scriptures that spoke to me personally so that was an added bonus.

Trying to move on from her past, Lee Spencer boarded the train headed out west. Many things would change on that train ride! BUT…could she really forget her past? Could she ever feel safe?
Lan was late picking up his mail-order bride at the train station because someone needed help. Would she still be there waiting for him? He was hoping to move past the bad things that he had experienced. Would forgiveness play a part in that?
Well done, Linda!

a story of forgiveness and peace in the Lord

It’s another installment in the series and it does the series credit. The choice to love, the desire to enjoy the life, to see the beauty of the world around, and the need to forgive those close are all the themes that make this book into a good Christian, historical fiction. The plot is well-developed, the storyline is good, and the characters are relatable.

Unique story and background for each mail- order bride

Some of us can’t choose are own siblings. I know I had trouble with mine! Mine weren’t outlaws oh wait my brother did go to prison for reasons I won’t go into. I know these books are fiction but isn’t it amazing they are all the right person and match for their mates. This is why I so love to read books. It is a feel-good world especially at the end.

what a great adventure

I appreciate that God was honored and glorified throughout this story. A young woman dresses as a boy and boards a train to escape a gang leader that ensnared her brother and wanted her in every way. At the other end of the lane the man has encountered her sadistic brother already but that doesn’t come out until the end but a least all is well and God gets the glory.

Mail Order Bride Trouble

I was riveted to this story. It covered all the bases, romance, suspense, forgiveness, pretty much every emotion in one story. I loved the storyline and the characters so much. I look forward to reading the next book with all the familiar characters and new ones to meet. Great story!

trouble in paradise

It’s interesting how someone can claim they love you so deeply but then walk right out due to their own issues. I believe the Bible says love never seeks his own. But so glad everything worked out.

you know but then you don’t

A lot of books have a sameness to them. These do too but you never know how they’ll get there. I love a spicy woman who carries a gun. 😊

I enjoyed the book! Cora was trying to escape her past. Lan was trying to overcome his past. The two marry and start to fall in love but then their pasts collide. This is a clean wholesome book where the characters rely on their Christian faith. This book is part of series but an be read standalone. I highly recommend reading this book.
