The next thrilling adventure in the Jason Drake saga.
The Assassin's List will be the seventh entry in what is one of the most full-throttle CIA assassin series to hit bookstores in decades. It has been created from the ground up to fill the space between Jason Bourne and Mitch Rapp. The extensive series will see one new novel every four months.
Auston King is an avid reader, who has consumed every Tom Clancy, Brad Thor, Lee Child, Vince Flynn and Robert Ludlum book he could get his hands on and he wants to share stories that entertain, provoke, and leave you wanting more.
Auston King is the author name for an ex-intelligence officer who prefers to keep his anonymity about him. He's an avid reader, who has consumed every Tom Clancy, Brad Thor, Vince Flynn and Robert Ludlum book he could get his hands on and he wants to share stories that entertain, provoke, and leave you wanting more.
This author needs a new proof reader. There are so many spelling and grammatical errors in the first 2o pages it's ridiculous so a 2.5 instead of 3.
The story however has Jason once again helping a government that doesn't value him and enemies that want to capture him. Jason is in Italy looking for the missing Sierra who has been captured by the head of the Russian GRU. He's pulled off the search to deal with a hostage situation in Greece not knowing they are tied together.
He seems to get more help from the British SAS than the CIA, does find Sierra but is captured in a cliff hanger for the next book.
You don't stick with a series this long if you don't like the storyline, characters, etc. But there is something going on with Mr. King's editor. I noticed small typo's and other errors in the last book. But this one has many editorial hiccups. Text out of place, words missing, and misplaced character behavior. For example: In one of their many encounters, Drake and Colt are in the same room and Colt is "smoking a cigar in the corner of the room." And then a few lines later, "Drake is the one smoking the cigar." So, Mr. King, I really like the books, but please have a serious talk with your editor. To reference one of Clint Eastwood's famous quotes, he or she..."Ain't makin it!"
This book will leave you breathless. A fast paced ride on the scariest roller coaster. Drake still searching for Sierra is dragged into a rescue mission that puts all the pieces together for him. He saves the mission and it brings the American government to its knees. Finding her may be a trap but what else could our hero do? Hold onto you seat cause another loop is in sight. Will Jason make it back from this mission. I can’t wait to find out. A terrific story with all the thrills you can take. Read it!
Auston King had proven himself to be a first rate story teller. His Jason Drake spy/assassin may be genetically enhanced but he also has a conflicted human side which makes him relatable. Auston has done his homework on behind the scenes government espionage and, like many readers, I can’t wait for book eight of the series to conclude the story. Very well done!
So far I would say this is the best of the books I've read in this series... but I don't think I will put any alert to know when next one is going to be released (The Assassin's daughter have been not released yet when I finished this one). I like when some threads are not closed and can continue in following books in a serie but this one has turned into a one big plot whit different chapters ending everythime in a cliffhanger and I don't like that.
Well what to say, this was a wonderful read and I enjoyed this one for sure as well as this whole series. Sad to see October release is the end of the story. Maybe? If your are new to this great series give it a try, keeps us fans of Jason and Scott you will find a excellent read that sometimes is hard to find out there in bookland. So give the series a try you will not be disappointed!
Omg, the best Jason Drake so far, page turner and so disappointed it h ad to finish it. Can't wait for the next in this series. Fascinating turns on each page. Remember all the players as they intertwine at the end.
The storyline is still enjoyable but the typos throughout is annoying...please proof before publishing. If this is a self-publish , the author should hire a private editor...
The problem with power is that many will covet it. You won't know who you can trust so you have to watch and wait. Meanwhile your enemies will try to find your Achilles heal.
I'm enjoying these books, but they need to pass through an editor. There were quite a few grammatical errors in this book and the books before it. Still going to read book 8 though!
This book defines the word Espionage. Nothing is as it seems and everything that should go this way, goes that way instead. And, in the end, Jason Drake is in a situation that you would never have imagined.
I'm enjoying this book series, but they aren't deep reads. The characters are fine, the plot is fine, the settings are fine. I was looking for a fun, spy series and that is what I am getting. No emotional impact, but solid enjoyment.
Good story with plenty of stimulating segments, somewhat annoying due to inadequate proof reading/editing to replace missing words or incorrect grammar.
This was an exciting book, but it’s not the end of the series. That might have to wait for the next book that’s not yet published. The question is how do I wait.
