No one could have prepared for the inferno that would ignite when they collided, least of all them.
Lucy
Seven years ago, I fled from a life where being a woman meant you were bound in shackles, and only dangerous and sadistic men held the keys.
I made a new life for myself and found the family I always needed in a group of outlaw bikers.
There’s only one problem—Jude Ashcroft. The man needles under my skin like no one else. When he goes low, I go to hell.
Until one night when my past catches up with me, and he saves me from the hell I barely escaped the first time.
But the trouble that found me that night was only the tip of the iceberg.
He doesn’t understand what or who he’s dealing with. He thinks he can protect me, but if I let him, true evil will come knocking, and it won’t come alone.
Jude
My life is simple, uncomplicated. The only things I care about are my brothers, my bike, and having no strings attaching me to any one woman. Everything is status quo, just how I like it.
Until Lucy. I’ve never met a woman more obstinate than the little demon. If cutting me down and showing me up were a sport, she’d have a gold medal in the pocket of those tight jeans.
She’s nothing I’ve ever wanted. Too mouthy, too opinionated, too… Lucy. Now I need to convince the part of me that craves a challenge, craves her fire.
She’s hiding something, though. I don’t know what, and I don’t know why. The only thing I do know is it’s going to bring trouble like we’ve never seen to my club.
But I’ll show her exactly what happens when someone tries to take what’s mine, because whether she likes it or not, that’s precisely what she is.
Kate is a lover of all things books. It doesn’t matter what genre, as long as there’s a HEA, she’s in. She started reading romance in high school and would hide novels in textbooks to read during class. Becoming an author was always a dream she had and finally decided to put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) and write what she loves. She grew up in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan then became a West Coast girl where she lives with her amazing husband and hilarious son. She would love to hear from readers so check out all her socials and sign up for her newsletter so she can keep you up to date on her books and whatever other ramblings come to mind.
I KNEW I was going to love Jude and Lucy story ! What a power couple they are. As we know Jude is the amazing MC member who’s British and ex Royal Military for the Queen of England. Do you need more? I don’t ! But there is more because he is amazing and funny. Done I rest my case . That’s all I needed to love him. Lucy is ALSO a baddie and funny. They are perfect for each other and they are both passionate about helping abused women. The rescued mission in the end was the best. I honestly can’t wait to read Ozzy’s book and I will keep it up with this series as the books come out. I would love to have also a book about Liam, Jude’s brother. He is one of the most interesting characters.
Jude is the second book in the Black Roses MC by Kate Randall. I love, love, love Jude and Lucy. Lucy is a bada** female main character with trauma and Jude is a bada** member of the MC. Their angry banter back and forth made me love them all that much more. I couldn’t get enough of these two characters. I feel like they balance each other out throughout the story and to see him stand behind her was amazing. This is the first Kate Randall book I have read and I must say she has became an auto buy author for me. Since I have not read Book 1 in this series about Jude’s friend Linc I thought I might feel lost but, I never felt lost. It gives Lucys backstory and how she met the Black Roses MC and it feels in the gaps so you never feel lost. The side characters are also great and you will fall in love with them too. There was great plot and character development and that gets me every time. The spice was chefs kiss in this book and I rate it at 4 🌶️. It is a standalone and ends on a slight cliffhanger for another character but not for Jude and Lucy. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and will be buying the first one as soon as I can. I have a book hangover from this book and don’t know what to do until I get more!!!! ❤️
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trope: hate to lovers Angst: 😱😱1\2 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
I really liked the storyline with this one and thought it was interesting. I did struggle with the dynamic between the two MCs a bit. They were super combative at first, which I generally like since I enjoy that kind of heroine, but I definitely got a bit of fatigue by the middle which wasn't helped by the fact it was a little slow in the middle as well. I'm definitely glad I stuck with it, both the relationship development and the action picked up again by the last third and I really enjoyed it! I hope we get something for her sister some time in the future. Jude can be read as a standalone, but there are continuing story arcs that make this book best enjoyed when read in series order.
Jude by Kate Randall is book two in the Black Roses MC series. This story is told from the two main characters POVs, can be read as a stand alone, has a HEA and no cliffhanger for these characters. There are characters from the previous book, however the author gives just enough back story that you won’t feel lost. There is a slight cliffhanger for another character which leads into the next book.
The main characters for this story are Jude and Lucy and I loved reading about them. They have great chemistry and I loved their back and forth angry banter.
Kate Randall is a new to me author and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after reading this book I am a new fan and can’t wait to read more. This is a great read and one that I would highly recommend.
This book was fabulous! I loved the antagonist being a religious cult. It was a nice change up from my norm. The beginning relationship between the 2 mc's was hysterical. I love a woman who can put a big bad biker in his place!! The banter between them was awesome, and the sexual tension 🤌. When it finally did happen, WOW!!
Who could not eventually fall for sexy, grumpy, overprotective, Jude?! He is definitely a new book boyfriend for me. And strong, sweet, and incredibly sassy "Lucifer". She was fabulous, and I would love to be a little more like her when I grow up!!
There was tension at times and some action, but the story underneath it all was a sweet love story. Loved it! Cooper 🫶
This is the 2nd book in the Black Roses series and follows Jude, best friend of Linc from Book 1. This could be read as a stand-alone but you get a better feel of the characters and relationships if you have read book 1 Linc.
Although I enjoyed the first book, I didn’t love it and I wasn’t so sure on if I was going to read anymore of this series. I, however, throughly enjoyed this book and personally felt it was better than the 1st.
The flow of the book was smooth, I really enjoyed the characters, the relationships and the drama. It was all very believable and captivating without feeling forced, it was fast paced without feeling rushed and the whit between the MMC and FMC was fun and sassy.
I felt the writing compared to book 1 improved, the characters were stronger and there were only a couple of errors, wrong FMC character name is mentioned once.
I would definitely recommend this book to any reader who loves a biker, a sassy FMC, crazy families and some action.
4*, 3🌶️ definitely hooked to want to read the next book.
Jude is a member of the Black Roses MC and has found a nemesis in the little bar maid with a sharp tongue and a penance for beating the big bad biker at every bar game there is. I loved the banter between these two…just about as much as I loved their chemistry.
Lucy came from a religious cult that has no regards for women which she broke away from years ago. It was when Lucy’s past comes back full force into her life that Jude takes it upon himself to protect this woman who he is falling for. There is no way she is going back to these monsters.
I fell in love with Jude and Lucy’s story. It was full of suspense and steam. I’m ready for more from the Black Roses MC.
Boy, are these two going to take you for a sizzling, spark filled, pulse-pounding, breath stealing ride. Jude and Lucy are a sinful explosion of intense feelings, irresistible attraction, and fiery desire. Trust me, the barbs are razor sharp, and the tension is thick in here and when you add in loads of suspense, drama and action, you have yourself a book that was almost impossible to put down.
This is the second book of this series. It is part of an interconnected series, so this can be read as a standalone without having to read book one first. In my case, that’s what happened. I do plan to go back and read the first book though.
I absolutely loved this story. I loved the enemies to lovers trope in the beginning. The way this story played out was smooth and steamy. Once the action really started, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I may have even shed a tear for one particular scene, I won’t give anything away but I know my side character who was a favorite of mine, won’t be getting a story.
I loved that the Lucy was feisty and not afraid to put Jude in his place. I love that, though she had her weak moments like every human being, she was strong, determined, independent and had a sass that couldn’t be contained. I loved Jude’s nickname for her and how ironic it was, considering her background. He was definitely the closest romantic and completely stole my heart. I loved how protective and loving he was with Lucy, once he realized his feelings. I loved their banter when they were both enemies and lovers.
I’m excited to go back and read book one, but from the hints of what is to come, I’m excited for the next book and hoping that a few of the other side characters who caught my interest will get their own book as well.
I received an advanced readers copy via The NextStep PR. These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after reading for my own personal enjoyment.
This second book was everything I needed! 💖 Enemies to lovers, all the angst, and all the drama of Lucy’s past catching up with her while the MC, her bestie Charlie and the wonderful tall, British, arsehole that is Jude 🤣 The first couple chapters were a tad confusing swapping pov but after that the story was absolutely gold! Loving this MC series!
Lucy is finally starting to get comfy in her new life with her best friend Charlie, and by extension the Black Roses MC. That is until blasts from her past walk through the front door of the club, members of the Bone Breaker MC. As a child Lucy grew up in a heavy doomsday religious cult up until she was 17, when she found out she was to marry within the week, and ran away. Bone Breakers supplied the cult with their weapons, and they knew of the reward on Lucy's head from 7 years prior.
Will she get to keep the life that she's slowing going into and getting used to?
I loved book one I love book two and I can't wait for the third one!!! Highly recommended.
OMG LOVE LOVE LOVE JUDE AND LUCY!!!!! Love this story so much!! While reading Linc, I hoped Jude and Lucy would come together and Kate delivered!!! The fighting, the passion, the spice!!!! Ahhhh!!! I love this story so much and can’t wait to see what happens next!! I think men like Jude need to be real and we all deserve to find one. Anyone who wakes you up with orgasms and coffee is perfect book boyfriend!!
JUDE is the second book in the BLACK ROSES MC by @katerandall
This is a story about a girl who grows up into a strong brave woman that tries hard to get herself out of an impossible situation in a society that sees women as nothing worth more than bearing and raising kids and serving their husbands.
Lucinda was born in a family that is a part of a religious doomsday cult that lived in the Nevada desert where elders believe that a war is coming. In this cult women are belittled and physically abused by their husbands. Girls are kidnapped and forced into marriage and if they try to escape and they get captured they are then whipped and beaten by a group of elders (men) in the name of seeking repentance.
I know religions are absurdly and so outrightly out of line this days but in this book the things this people do felt so waaay out of line. The double standards between the men and women was just so unbelievably painful to read. Boys are treated like princes and girls like demons.
Lucinda is then betrothed to a guy 2yrs older than him a son of another elder in the church. And she’s just not having it so she runs away from home to New Orleans where she meets her best-friend Charlie. In New Orleans she experiences a whole different view on how men treat their women. Here men treat their women with respect and kindness and they would lay their lives to protect them and their families.
Her and Charlie then move to a little town called Shine in Massachusetts where she starts working a bar owned by a biker gang. And she blends in perfectly and finds new family and makes new friends. She also meets Jude here.
Jude is perfect for her; British, 6ft 3, loves being in jeans and t-shirts and is the leader of the biker gang. This two aren’t exactly close; in-fact they fight lots BUT
HE respects her he’s protective and possessive of her. The minute he thinks her safety is in question he rans to rescue her. cares for her; somehow they get along and with time a certain ease develops between them and with that something comes deeper feelings.
But that is cut short when Lucinda is found by the Nevada cult and they would do anything to take her back home for punishment as a lesson for everyone else who tries to run!
After that i was blown away by everything that happened. Kate really wrote this book with lots of intertwined considerations that will have you mind-blown…definitely 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️ ✅Perfect Storyline ✅Perfectly written characters and support roles ✅Dual POV with amazing link from previous POV to the next. To say i felt part if the book is the least
✨WOULD I READ THIS AGAIN?? Absolutely💯 ✨WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS? Am surprised you haven’t got your hands on it yet Thank you The Next Step PR for this ARC now i gotta go find out if i can get my hands on the physical copies of both books in this
Jude by Kate Randall is book 2 in the Black Roses MC series. As always, I recommend reading a series in order, but it can be read as a standalone if the reader chooses. This is a motorcycle romance, and Readers should expect what comes with that, but it also has a new twist to it as well.
Jude and Lucy are a great, funny read that many readers will enjoy. Lucy is a independent woman, but has a past that she is trying to still deal with, Jude of course is an alpha male and overly protective. The banter between these two is funnier than most I have read, as the plot starts to unfold, and the characters to develop more, we get to slowly seeing more and more of their relationship.
I feel for Lucy, after all that she has been through, and making her new life better than the one she broke from. Kate Randall, is a newer author to me, but I can safely say that her books are definitely going to become a must read. The book ends on a slight cliffhanger, but don’t worry, Readers, Jude, and Lucy get their happily ever after. Who the next book is, only the author knows… But we all know who we want to be….
Jude by Kate Randall is the second novel in The Black Roses MC series. Each book follows a different couple, so it can be read as a stand-alone, but I suggest reading the books to enjoy the series entirely.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spiciness rating: 🌶🌶🌶/ 5 Kindle Unlimited [ ✕ ] YES [ ] NO Stand-alone [ ✕ ]YES [ ] NO POV: first person - dual POV Genre: contemporary romance Tropes: MC Romance Badass, sassy, and strong heroine British hero religious cult abuse/ violence Hate to love
My Thought: I recently read Jude by Kate Randall, and it was the first time I had read anything by this author. I enjoyed the characters and the author's writing style. The plot and the mystery of the book were intriguing enough to keep me reading. Personally, I love a strong female lead character who stands up for herself and knows exactly what she wants. The banter and chemistry between the two main characters were also enjoyable to read. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I'm considering reading the next one in the series."
This is the 2nd story in the The Black Roses MC Series. Lucy has left the desert cult she grew up in seven years ago moving to a new town every so often until she lands with the MC as her best friend, Charlie ends up with one of the guys. Jude has a unique relationship with Lucy where he challenges her at every bar game and never able to beat her frustrating Jude and their banter goes back and forth. Lucy lives in fear of being discovered by elder Otto and his equally horrible son that she was to marry. When the Bone Brakers MC think they can start a new deal with the Black Roses things get turned around and Lucy’s fear becomes real. Jude does what’s necessary to protect her and once they find common ground does their relationship become hot and heavy exploding into something special! What a sexy MC biker will do for the women he loves!
Jude and Lucy were everything I thought they could be. These two cracked me up as side characters in Linc, but as main characters they are officially my favorite couple. The dialog between these two had me equal parts cracking up and swooning. Let me just say this, Jude is the king of dirty talk!!!! This man, ahhhh, he literally had me panting while reading. The storyline had me in a chokehold. Hearing Lucy's backstop and seeing how far she had come meant so much to me as a reader. I love character growth and that was in here tenfold. Kate, you did it again. Just know that I am counting down until the next book in the series!!! I love your writing!!!!!!!
Lucy grew up in a religious commune, not conforming to their ideals and being forced into an arranged marriage she escapes leaving her younger sister behind, seven years later and with her best friend Charlie she lives in Shine with the Black Roses MC but she’s always looking over her shoulder, ready to run if they find her, meanwhile she has fun especially goading the 6ft 3” British Biker, they hate each other until they don’t, but then her past catches up to her.
Omg, I loved this, there is a sad part which I needed a tissue for but other than that there was plenty to smile about, couldn’t put it down even if I tried.
So don't come after me but I did not read the first book. I will definitely have to go back and read it. This is my first Kate Randall book and she has a new fan for life. I loved Jude! Everything about him. Jude and Lucy are those two characters that absolutory need to be together. I am one for some good banter and spice and this has it all. I was able to follow along with a clear picture in my head of what was happening. I wanted to know all about the secondary characters and couldn't put it down. I love the FMC that can bring a man to their knees and put them in their place with their sassy banter and this definitely did it. Definitely check out this read, it's worth it.
Such a fabulously awesome story. I loved and devoured every page with baited anticipation of what was to come next. I absolutely loved Jude and Lucy’s story ❤️❤️❤️ they make such an incredible couple. Lucy needs no one to protect her, she’s her own personal saviour but secretly enjoys the snarky back and forth she shares with Jude. Jude is slightly annoyed that the woman beats him at pool, darts and is an amazingly accurate shot, although his annoyance is from the fact he thinks she’s so hot with all her talents. I can’t say enough about this book it was just that great. A real page turner. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎
This is book 2 in The Black Roses MC series and my goodness, Jude is an awesome man. I am partial to Linc from book 1, BUT how Jude is with Lucy is everything. What starts off as snarky banter and annoyance between the two turns into more as their relationship progresses and Lucy leans on Jude for support. The spice in this book is fantastic! I am loving how this series is unfolding. Here we are again with another cliffhanger... but not for Jude and Lucy.
I cannot wait for book 3. Kate, you have a reader in me!
So for book 1, I gave it 3 stars because of a lot of inconsistencies and grammar issues, but this book? It has redeemed this author in my eyes. I love Jude's cockiness and mouth and I love that Lucy isn't just going to take his crap. She gives as good as she gets.
I also love that he falls first, although she is yes, right there too. This is gearing up to be a good series. Now who will CeCe be with his my question...I thought Liam but was weird he called her lil sis... so not sure how I'd feel if it was. But oh well, Ozzy is next anyways!!
This is the second book in this fascinating series and this is Jude and Lucy's story. This is a well written story which is easy to read and action packed, with found family, friendships, emotions, loyalty, challenges, humour, witty banter, heartbreak, danger, suspense, intrigue, undeniable chemistry, and love which all leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable thrilling page turner I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Jude is book 2 in the Black Roses MC series and is Jude and Lucy's story. I enjoyed this couples journey quickly fell into their story with them. Chemistry between them is great and I love the strong, sassy woman that Lucy is. She definitely gives as good as she gets and is capable of standing on her own. Lucky for her she doesn't have to though. She has Jude who's willing to fight all of her battles for her whether he needs to or not. I can't wait for book 3!
It's been awhile since I've read MC books and I came across this series while reading the Mafia books connecting to the Black Roses. Mafia is my fav books to read so when the Black Roses was mentioned I thought I would give them a go. I loved Jude and Lucy's story so much and even more so the banter between these two. Looking forward to reading the next one and I have no doubt it will as good as this. ❤️
I so enjoyed the dynamics of Jude and Lucy. I melted at his pet names for her. Jude really lured me with every use of endearment ’Love’. Such a swoon-maker right there!
This story took some twists I did not see coming! And others that had me shouting and squeezing my eyes shut.
I feel like I would rate this book a 4.25.
I received a copy of this book from Kate Randall. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.
This one was kind of a letdown after the excellent debut of the series, but it wasn't bad. There was just a lot going on in this book and I think the author may need a map because the truck driven from Nevada to Mass. doesn't sound like it actually would have made it half way across the country. I also was baffled that the other MC just disappeared after the three guys - that's much different than we know about MCs, even bad ones.
JUDE by KATE RANDALL is book two in The Black Roses MC Series. This is the story of Jude and Lucy. Lucy is a barmaid who hasn't had it easy but she if a feisty lady who gives it Jude at every turn. Jude is a grumpy biker who at ever turn is bickering at Lucy. Their back and forth is hot for play for them I think. Enjoyed this book.
if you're looking for mc romance with feisty FMC and enemies to lovers than this is for you. please read trigger warnings. Lucy is strong and independent person with a sweet side too. Jude is very competitive and stubborn person with. I loved their banter and chemistry. my favorite chapters is 13 and 16. This was such a funny and fun book to read I loved it and would definitely recommend
