This book has a little something for every teacher. One chapter might hit on what the new teacher needs, while another might remind a veteran teacher of what they already knew but got lost in the daily struggle of teaching, like filling the emotional tank before teaching.

I had the pleasure of teaching in the same building as the author. At that point, he was the teacher that had the kids at McNair motivated and other teachers were taking notice. However jealous I was of his snazzy outfits and attention-getting techniques , I realized something that I have heard him (and countless others) say: I could never be him because I needed to be me. That’s what this book helps educators explore: how to be the best version of themselves.

My only criticism is that the graphics did not transfer to the Kindle version. However, Mr. Williams does have the website for much of the supplemental material.

Very positive perspective on teaching but nothing groundbreaking for current teachers. This would be good for brand-new teachers.

Highly recommend for teachers, especially those looking to feel renewed in the profession. While this book doesn’t have the magic answer to make everything in teaching palatable, it does provide the foundation for a positive mindset to shift your thinking.
