I've been enjoying drawing flowers mostly using the techniques from this book. It does get more challenging as the book goes on, but I just do what I can so I don't get too tired. There are some fun projects later in the book that I will definitely enjoy trying, like the strings of flowers, cascades, and especially the flowers around a slice of moon!

The instructions about penciling in the placement of where you want to draw each flower are particularly helpful. I used to have an etsy shop and sell a lot of digital, floral watercolor clip art that I handpainted traditionally, but I could easily create compositions for bouquets by moving flowers from different paintings around on the screen. Making a pleasing composition in one shot on a fixed substrate is harder! This book has taught me to plan things out ahead of time.

I like to do painted vignettes or clusters of flowers, then slip them into pockets in my junk journals. Over time, I forget which I put where, and it's like a little mystery when I repopen the journals and pull a flower out of a pocket. I will be using the flowers I make from this book inside my junk journals.
