Earth has been nothing but bad luck for Mia Ambrose. So when the opportunity arises for her to be a nanny on a different planet, she jumps on it. But she should’ve researched her new employer a bit more. When he turns out to be a strict, super hot and stuffy military commander, she wonders if her bad luck followed her.
Tharon is the highest-ranking commander in the Tor’vian military. And he has no idea how to take care of his children, a set of eight-year-old twins. Help comes in the form of hiring a nanny from the planet Earth. Mia isn’t exactly what he expected in a nanny. She’s beautiful, strong and loves his children, but is he strong enough to resist the attraction to the little earthling?
However, not all is perfect on Tor’via. Tharon and Tor’via have enemies. Enemies who will stop at nothing to destroy the planet and its highest-ranking military official. Tharon must discover who wants his innocent, loving nanny dead before he loses his second chance at finding love and gaining his family back.
Milly Taiden (also writes as April Angel) was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean (to her) known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.
When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop.
She’s addicted to shoes, chocolate, Dunkin Donuts coffee and JIMMY THOMAS covers!!!
This is the most poorly written book I have read this year. That is saying something because I read "Fated to the Alpha" this year, and that book was so bad, it used the wrong word at times. (The "right a**" instead of "tight a**" was my favorite. ) The entire book was incredibly dry, the dialog stilted, timing unrealistic, and reactions unbelievable.
I hate to throw this out there, because I do not wish to take away from anyone's hardwork, but I believe AI wrote this and Taiden thought, "good enough," slapped some "I don't think my translator caught that correctly"s and called it a day.
I mean, who goes from "this is wrong due to our power dynamic," to having one brief kiss, to taking off one's shirt in the study because the boss needs to "relax?" That literally happened. Then after like 2 bang sessions, I mean, 2 weeks, the kids asked her to be their new mom (honestly, that part was actually believable) and the nanny says, "well that's up to your dad," then be surprised he blew up. I was like, "bro run. this chick is crazy."
There were just so many other examples of this book being ridiculous. For example, Tharon always being there right as Mia was being chased. He could be at the office and her on another planet, and bam, he's there. This happened twice. There was also the brother's nonreaction at the end. He basically said, " well, that tracks," and that was the end.
I also do not really know what much looked like, especially Mia and Tharon. She has red hair and he is like a large human, and I think blue with purple and gold eyes. It's not really described, which is a shame since that could have been actually interesting when all that was being described where oddly timed romantic dates and humpy times. Who goes from "my entire family was attacked in the woods" to "I'll send the kids away, you put on something fancy and we will have a date?" Tharon, I guess.
Honestly, much of this left me baffled. I barely finished this. It was probably because I spent $2.99, and I was determined to not waste it.
To sum up, this was awful and read just about any other book from any other author. The end.
A simply wonderful, heartfelt alien and Nanny s read, she cares deeply for her two charges Mia Ambrose has left earth and what little family she has remained behind and she has taken the position as a nanny where she is caring for twin boy and girl and when she meets them she is amazed at how quickly she falls in love with them. Their father Tharon is one of the highest-ranking officers on the planet and it is his job to ensure he keeps the inhabitants safe from aliens on other worlds as there are some that would take from other colonies rather than actually work for it themselves. As the relationship between Mia and Tharon begins to grow and there is obviously a spark between them, it has been over seven years since his wife died and now as they begin to enjoy each other and become closer as a gamily he is shocked when they are suddenly attacked. If it had not been for Mia at the cottage who would have known what would have happened to his children, she had fought as valiantly as any one of his soldiers standing strong against the attackers and had ensured that no one got anywhere near his children and this made hi, so proud and thankful for her being there. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
The Characters did not connected with me. Their actions where not believable at all. There was no depth to the story and there was no Raffinesse or Thrill to it in any way. Everything fell flat.
How can you make a threat to kids and Nanny so very boring and uninteresting? Why would you write more about Earth stuff than the planet she is on now? He keeps talking about their customs on his planet, but you really do not learn anything about those. And if it is a tabu for him to be with a human, how come he marries her and that is all fine? This story does not make sense, beside being boring as hell it is stupid. Just blah!
Last but not least : I am also getting tiered of reading about red heads and about pollution of earth. I was waiting on reading she is fat too. So she being fit was something new. For most of the time the female characters are over weight in alien stories and it gets painted as that is a good thing.
I am so done with the Earth / Human bashing in Alien Romances and that all of those Alien romances have red head humans showing up, I am about to puke.
Alien Commander's Nanny by Milly Taiden pub 11/10/23 4 stars Tharon & Mia +the twins
As a widower and head commander he is so busy, that he needs help with the children. Mia seems to be dealing with bad luck and she needs a change. Another planet, other people, and so much more to offer. She tried successfully for the placement.
The father was gorgeous. The kids were smart, fun, and took to her right away. Mia had to spend time with Tharon to learn the different customs. It didn't take long for their attraction to show both ways.
An enemy made his job stressful. He worried about his people, his family, and Mia. Will he be able to protect those depending on him?
Good worldbuilding, lots and lots of heat, and characters blending together make for a good read.
I believe that the conversations and endearments between Tharon and Mia could have been less earth-like. Their relationship was awfully fast. But overall a really good read.
Mia leaves Earth and travels to Tor'via to work as a nanny for a widower with twins. It turns out her new employer is an important Commander who is a little distant with her. The children, a girl and a boy, are more outgoing and obviously intelligent. Mia enjoys her time with the twins and works to figure out Tor'vian cuisine and cooking methods so she can prepare meals they can all enjoy together. Tharon grows more comfortable with her when he sees ĥow she interacts with his children. Something starts to grow between them but replacing a spouse/mother with another female is not something that happens on Tor'via and Theron is reluctant to proceed. Also, he has enemies and one or more of them has begun to attack him through his family. Someone has inside information, but how are they getting it?
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
This book, is like a cosmic rollercoaster of love and feels. Mia and Tharon? Their love story is the kind that sneaks into your heart and sets up camp. You can't help but get wrapped up in their world The spice level? It's just right. Enough to keep things interesting without going overboard. The page count is spot on, just enough to devour in one sitting without feeling like you're on a literary marathon. I seriously can't get enough of how Milly Taiden crafts these characters and storylines. It's like she has this magic touch that turns words into emotions. If you're into a love story that's both out-of-this-world and down-to-earth, this one's for you. I received an advance reader copy of this book at no charge in exchange for an honest review.
A human woman called Mia has arrived to become a nanny to an alien Thoran a widower who happens to be a military commander and they get off to a slow start but she and the children get along very well and they enjoy her company and she theirs, but their are others on the planet that are intent on getting the commander ripped from his position he knows who is behind the plan he just doesn't know who is providing information on him and his family. He finds out that someone is trying to hurt or kill his children's nanny but he will never let that happen. A romantic suspense. Strong characters. I read a copy without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
Tharon was the top of military commander and Mia his nanny for his perfect children. When danger approached their home he had a few men to watch out for trouble. Well, his home was infiltrated three times by the enemy, three times mind you. They were lousy at their job to be military soldiers. Now Mia turned into a Stepford wife and she was perfect too. They kept telling her that the food she cooked was good because she was trying hard to make it like their food. It was never explained what she did to the food to make it like similar. I guess I like my heroines to be spunky not perfect all the time.
I really liked this book! Mia & Tharon are definitely meant to be a couple. The children Cian & Triat are adorable. But someone keeps trying to kill Mia and take the children. Then someone tries to come after Tharon. Someone doesn’t want Mia & Tharon together. Tharon knows one person behind it but who the other person is the question, he keeps asking himself. You’ll need to read the book to find out. I received a free ARC copy for my review.

I really enjoyed this book. Tharon and Mia are a great pair. They compliment each other well. I like how the story brings people of differents places together and shows that their differences can make them better. I like the feeling of family, second chance love, and HEA that this story gave me. Let's not forget the bit of excitement and danger lurking in the shadows either. I look forward to reading the next book.
Great start to a new series. Starting over on a new planet as a nanny, has Mia finding more than a new home. Strange planet and even stranger alien lifestyle that seems to fit Mia perfectly. Commander Theron needs a nanny for his eight year old twins. Finding an Earthling with impressive credentials is the only option. War brewing and attempted kidnappings doesn’t prevent him from falling for the nanny. Great start.
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mia took a job on an alien planet, as a nanny. She knew he was a commander and had twins, but beyond that, she didn't do her homework. When she and Tharon fall for each other, will he show her what he's made of or cave to long standing traditions/social mores? And when his family gets attacked, will they find who's to blame, from his inner circle, before it's too late? Excellent start to a new alien romance series by Milly Taiden!
Alien Commanders Nanny (Alien Needs a Nanny Book 1) by Milly Taiden. Mia was going to another planet to be nanny to twins whose father, Theron, was commander of the planets army. As time went by Theron and Mia got closer until they fell in love. Unfortunately it was against tradition for widowers to take another wife and there were several attempts on Mia’s life. When the culprit was uncovered it as a shock.
I loved this book, The kids were adorable, and the Commander was hot and very, very sexy, and the Mia was perfect for all three of them. Add some danger and excitement, and you have a book that kept me reading every single page. These two were perfect together, and the storyline kept you completely entertained.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I didn't know if I would recommend this book to anyone until the end of the story. But overall I can say it had me at the first three chapters. The book was well written and easy to follow. I enjoyed reading it and finding out was really going on in it. Nevertheless I would recommend this book and author to friends to read it.
Poor Mia had nothing good for her on earth. Fortunately for her an position for her to be an aliens nanny she jumped at the chance. Her employer was a strict non-smiling handsome hunk and two adorable twins. This book has deceit, fierce fighting, serious love making. Definitely a page turner.
The AI narration is AWFUL, dropped in the 2nd chapter... I think, can´t be sure. Couldn't concentrate, couldn't discern who was talking most of the time. Cheap AI narrator. I -maybe- will read the eBook, taking the sample to test. But, PLEASE, kill this! Is really painful to hear. Or try a better voice. ARGH!
Sweet romance that has you enjoying that cup of coffee while engrossed in this read. I enjoyed the differences in culture and how they dealt with it. I loved those adorable kids and the joy they found after the death of their biological mother. Download and enjoy❤️❤️
Moving to an alien planet to escape all the problems on Earth, and to be the nanny for the military Commander's twins turns into much more excitement than expected ... and not all of it good!
Wonderful new series for the paranormal romance lovers out there. Plenty to keep you guessing and some definite twists. I did receive this book as an ARC, but this is my honest review.
This was a great start to a new series. The character work and story line were well written and kept me hooked from start to finish. I can't wait to see where this series takes us.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This wasn't as good as Milly's other books which, was disappointing. I found this story to be very predictable although, I didn't expect Tharon's sister to be involved. Mia was very likable. The children were very well behaved.
Tharon and Mia was the start to a new series called "Alien Needs a Nanny". It was a great short story and I consider it both mystery and romantic suspense.
Good start to a new series. A Human Nanny who falls in love with her Alien Commander and his 2 children, but someone is trying to prevent their love for each other. Has a twist to the end, but also a hea. A must reaf.
Pretty good! It was cute, even if I was slightly bored lol. I liked the characters and the background danger was good, if a bit disenheartening. I was still entertained.
