The original textbook is now running into its 5th edition, and entering the 12th year of its existence. With humility, we may state that the medical community of India has warmly received the original textbook. In retrospect, it gives immense satisfaction to note that the textbook served the students and faculty for more than a decade. There was consistent demand from the students that a condensed version would be very useful for revision of the whole biochemistry; hence, this Atlas. Most of the figures, charts, tables and boxes of the textbook have been reproduced in this book with minor modifications. Exhaustive explanations are given, so that the reader will be able to grasp the important points without any difficulty. This book will give a quick reference to the essentials of Biochemistry, and will be very useful to recollect the basic facts.
