A Little Christmas Charm by Kathryn Freeman is a 2018 Choc- lit publication.
A touching holiday romance!
Colleagues Gabby and Owen have steered clear of mixing business with pleasure, knowing the pitfalls of dating a co-worker. But, Owen feels so drawn to Gabby he can’t stop himself from asking her out. Gabby, however, views Owen as a flirtation, and proceeds with caution. But, as the holidays approach, Owen realizes Gabby has been let down by her mother so many times she’s given up on Christmas.
Can he convince her to take a chance on him and Christmas?
I sped through this story in one day! I was so absorbed in Owen’s plight and how it would affect his promise to Gabby, I had to keep reading to see how everything would work out.
The holidays are supposed to be a special time of the year, full of cheer and good wishes. But, Gabby never had that. Owen really wants to take her away for the holiday, but first one thing, then another comes up. Naturally, Gabby has gotten her hopes up, which creates a dramatic type of suspense for the reader.
I enjoyed seeing Gabby make progress, although she could be brittle, skeptical, and a little hard on Owen at times. But, Owen is such a big -hearted guy, selflessly trying to make everything right for those he cares about.
The story hits upon the various human bonds that create a family, and the wonderful way people can come together to make the holidays special and forge bonds they never considered, as well as heal those that have been broken.
This is a lovely, heartwarming story, full of Christmas charm, just as the title suggests! It’s perfect for setting the holiday mood, or for a comforting romance to snuggle up with in a cold winter day.

As it’s December and frigging freezing in this house, despite the expensive new boiler, I’m covering up my important parts. I don’t want to ruin the image you have of me by appearing in front of you naked. And cold.
My Review:
This was an engaging holiday read yet it contained considerably more angst than I was expecting, sigh. Angst is just not one of my favorite things, and the main character of Gabby was riddled with it and was basically a tight knot of tension, anxieties, and a critical case of wariness. Thankfully, Ms. Freeman also tossed in her own special brand of levity, wit, emotive storylines, and enough clever banter to keep me from descending into the abyss. Gabby was emotionally immature, exasperatingly stubborn, distrustful, easily startled, and a pain in the posterior. Why the luscious Owen was so fully captivated by her prickly nature was a grand mystery. I adored Owen, he was extremely patient, witty, perceptive, and sex on legs.
I found two extra fun new additions to my Brit word list with throw a wobbly (a display of temper usually over something minor) and skivvy – which I have only known as underwear but apparently, it is also another word for servant. Oh my, now I am envisioning a butler clad only in his bow tie and boxers while tossing a tantrum.

5☆ A Tender and Endearing Romantic Suspense
This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone perfectly fine.
A Little Christmas Charm is exactly that, it's a wonderfully charming and Heartwarming read, filled with Romantic Suspense.
It's a story about learning to trust, finding love, dealing with relationship issues and learning to love and let go.
Gabby has always had a tough time trusting people, especially when it comes to Men and relationships.
So when Owen at work takes an interest in her, she wants nothing more than to hide away, pulling up her armour she's worked so hard on, up to protect her heart.
You see Gabby, hasn't had a particularly easy upbringing. Her mother makes her feel unwanted and unloved, which in turn rubs off on her adult relationships.
But Owen is determined to chizzle down Gabby's Armour bit by bit. As there is something quiet endearing about Gabby, and he just can't keep away.
The more Gabby pushes the more endearing she becomes.
Can Gabby open herself up to Owen?
Will Gabby fall in love with Owen and Christmas?
No one should be alone, especially not at Christmas Time and Owen want nothing more than to spend it with Gabby.
I couldn't help warming to Owen, desperate for him to succeed in winning over Gabby's heart. But also preying he wouldn't hurt her.
Owen is charismatic, charming, kind, and very endearing.
Gabby on the other hand is a somewhat closed book, until we get to delve into her past then it all makes sense.
Both are strong and relatable Characters you can't help willing them both to find happiness.
A Little Christmas Charm is a beautifully Romantic and Heartwarming Novel that's wonderfully written.
A totally absorbing read, that will tug at your emotions but keep you smiling.
Kathryn captures the spirit of Romance and the Festive Season perfectly.
This truly is a tender and endearing romance, I devoured in one day.
So if you love Christmas Romances, with a wonderful Romantic Suspense then you will adore this Charming, Feel Good Read.

I really cannot get enough of touching, uplifting and heartfelt Christmas time stories at the moment. A Little Christmas Charm managed to bring those aspects together in a wonderfully romantic package.
Owen is such a sweet talking chap and Gabby initially has him pegged as the office flirt with a twinkle in his eye for all the women at work. Owen is wonderful at flattery and does have a smooth talking talent, a talent that comes in handy for his sales job. However despite Gabby's initial opinion, Owen kept a strict 'No work dalliances' policy, until he met Gabby. Owens rules went out of the window when he met Gabby.
Set in the lead up to Christmas, this is a really wonderful story to put you firmly in the Christmas spirit. The question is can Gabby and Owen put away past pain to rest and find their festive spirit? Or has past hurt denied Owen and Gabby the opportunity for a happy Christmas present and future?
A Little Christmas Charm was a beautifully written Christmas treat and I look forward to reading more from Kathryn Freeman's work.

This is a fantastic festive romance with the start of an office romance that has potential to be more but only if fears and anxieties from the past can be overcome.
Gabby Sanderson is in the marketing department, but she is so used to other people letting her down that she's reluctant to trust anyone in her life, let alone let them anywhere near her heart. When Owen Cooper from the sales department sets out to woo her she's sweet temptation to him but can he get past her barriers to give them both a chance? Can she trust him not to be another person to let her down?
This is a lovely story where Gabby's childhood is slowly revealed and it explains so much about her attitude and angst . . . And when you learn what happened to Owen when his only long term relationship ended . . . . Well, you've just got to hope that things will work out for them both, despite everything that keeps throwing a spanner in the works! I didn't want to put this story down until I'd finished it. The story explores family relationships, their impact on the present and gives you hope for the future for all concerned. It is an emotive read that had me just wanting things to sort out for all of them. If you enjoy festive romances with great characters and plenty of twists and turns to add surprises, I really can't recommend highly enough that you make sure you have a copy of this wonderful festive story to read this Christmas - it really is a sweet treat!

It is always a delight to start a new Kathryn Freeman book, and this was no exception. It was so romantic, with clear chemistry between the two leads and a story that developed and became so much more than it first appeared as it progressed.
I warmed to Owen from the moment we met him, he is an incredibly charming man and he knows it, but hits useful for his job in sales. However it is soon apparent he has a certain vulnerability to him too which just adds to his overall appeal.
Whereas Gabby took a bit to grow on me, mainly because she doesn't seem to be a fan of Christmas. But as you discover her reasons why, and see how the grows throughout the book I found myself loving her more and more.
With the way the book started, and the instant connection from the characters whether they were acknowledging it or not, I did worry that perhaps this was going to be a slightly different sort of book than I was expecting with many hot and heavy scenes, but what we actually get is to hear more about the characters and their families.
Easily all the best bits came in the second half of the book so I can't really tell you about them but rest assured you are in for a treat. As the blurb says there is a connection to A Little Christmas Faith and I spent most of the book wondering if I was missing a link until I found it.
Rest assured you don't need to have read A Little Christmas Faith in order to enjoy this one, its there clearly for her fans, but if you weren't aware of it you wouldn't realise. This is not a sequel in any normal sense of the word.

It’s still only November but I have another ‘Christmas’ book on my list to read and review. You’d think by now every possible scenario featuring anything remotely festive will have been done to the extremes. But having read the first in the series it seemed only logical to read the next one. With so many books rumbling around in my mind I often worry I may not recall the details of the story or characters but I know from previous experience Kathryn has the ability to welcome you right back in within a couple of pages.
Gabby and Owen are the stars of the show in this book, Gabby lacks trust in everyone after being let down by her mother and plenty of others. She is successful as far as her career is concerned so all energy will be put into that without any distractions including Christmas.
Owen has the reputation of being a ladies man so Gabby takes his advances with a pinch of salt, she won’t risk someone else hurting her but you just know she fancies the pants off of him. Part of the thrill of the story is the will they won’t they aspect. As a reader I soon became attached to the characters and was more than happy to get immersed in the festive spirit.
I really enjoy Kathryn’s easy writing style, the warmth flows from the pages A Little Christmas Charm is a complete treat that you can give yourself.

Another sweet treat of a read from the wonderful Kathryn Freeman.
The story starts in the build up to Christmas and life at work has just picked up for Owen as he spots Gabby and he's smitten! Is it wise to start a work relationship though? Gabby is just as smitten with the seemingly confident salesman, but she senses he's a flirty character and that is just the way he acts with everyone, so maybe she's reading too much into his glances and attention!
But as they begin to spend more time together, they both allow themselves to open up to one another and as their pasts have scarred them, it is no wonder that they both seem a little reluctant to jump right into a relationship. But they are both such endearing characters that you quickly warm to their ways and wish they'd both be brave and embrace their time together.
With Christmas fast approaching there's always going to be some extra drama to muddy the water and it's how they both deal with the problems facing them that tug at your heartstrings and make this such a satisfying story. I just wish it could have gone on for longer as I loved spending time in their company! Fabulous!

Festive fiction and romance lovers will love this wonderful story about Gabby and her trust issues and Own the office flirt. A story about two people that looks at first glance like it should fail before it starts, but when you get under the bluster and bravado you find two people who are more than first meet the eye. Add into the recipe a young girl, an unwavering PA, a grumpy old man and a mother, mix them all up and you will get a book that will add some festive sparkle and cheer.
Oh, this story really did suit me, picked it up to read a few chapters, and then read a few more and didn’t actually put it down until I had run out of chapters to read. I had reservations about Owen, the office flirt, but after a few cha[ters I got to know the man rather than the facade. As for Gabby, she was so aloof and standoffish but here again I got to see what made her tick. There was so much more to the story than I first realised, and also to the shiny, polished, professional exterior of the characters as well.
Trust is a delicate thing for Gabby and at times it leaves her irrational to least but, also vulnerable as she doesn’t always get the way things work. Getting to know how she sees life was a journey that added many emotional ups and downs. I liked the additional characters and the way they were introduced into the story, adding sparkle along the way.
There are some wonderful heartwarming moments as old wounds and grievances are looked at and explored. Past hurts are finally addressed and it was nice to see Owen’s patience and understanding. It gave a wonderfully uplifting and heartwarming feel.
A story that has a great feel-good factor to it, definitely festive in feeling and perfect to read by a roaring fire or snuggled under a blanket. One I would definitely recommend.

This is a sequel to 'A Little Christmas Faith' but can be read as a standalone.
It's a beautiful Christmas story and I loved the little jokes the author added. The book is fluently written and it's very nice to reconnect with the characters from the previous book mixing with new ones. We get to know them a bit better and the whole atmosphere cries festive season. Add a lot of love, romance and snow and you are, even if it's only the middle of October, ready to decorate your own tree at home.
There was nothing I did not like and bring on book 3, I would say.
Christmas, here we come! 4 stars.

The book is fluently written and it's very nice to reconnect with the characters from the previous book mixing with new ones. We get to know them a bit better and the whole atmosphere cries festive season. Add a lot of love, romance and snow and you are, even if it's only the middle of October, ready to decorate your own tree at home.
There was nothing I did not like and bring on book 3, I would say.
Christmas, here we come! 4 stars.

I have read Kathryn Freeman's work before and I always know that I am in for a great read but A LITTLE CHRISTMAS CHARM is far and away my favourite of her books so far. Engaging and loveable characters mixed with heart-pounding romance is a sure-fire recipe for a thoroughly mesmerising Christmas romance.
Gabby Sanderson is smart, witty, capable, and determined. But she is also lonely and afraid of opening herself up to anyone. So when the sexiest and most charming man at work, Owen Cooper, shows an interest in getting to know her more personally, Gabby's natural reaction is to block him at every turn. After all, if her own mother never had time for her and disappointed her all the time, why would Owen be any different?
But Owen is determined to show Gabby that trusting the right person is nothing to be scared of and as their tentative relationship soon turns into something all-consuming, will he be able to break down the walls surrounding Gabby's heart? Or will the past always find a way to come between them?
While the setting is perfect in this book, it is the characters who really steal the show. Gabby is a such a strong character yet I could feel her fear of letting someone into her world, and I really felt for the little girl who was always left by those who should have nurtured her. Owen is suave and witty, but there is so much more to him than a pretty face, and it was a pure delight to get to know him and his family.

A must read to get you into the Christmas Spirit
Owen fancied Gabby from the moment he sees her when she starts working for the sweet company he works at and the feeling is definitely mutual.
This book leads you from a few weeks before Christmas up to Christmas Day itself and on the way we learn about Gabby’s insecurities and Owen’s lack of confidence despite his reputation.
Will their pasts cause a problem for their future or will Santa bring them their happy ever after.
A lovely book to get you into the spirit of Christmas and I love the way Kathryn weaves a Christmas message reminding us of what Christmas is truly about.
Great characters that you can empathise with and characters that I genuinely liked and wanted the best for, some fun and laughter, tears and tantrums, this book has it all.
I highly recommend this book if you want an enjoyable, easy read.

I loved the plot and the writing style was great, the story flowed very well and it was a really easy book to read. It had just the right amount of detail for me to keep the story focussed on the main plot and to allow the characters to develop as the book progressed.
The setting was lovely and I really enjoyed everything about this book from charming cover to the lovely ending. Five stars from me – very highly recommended and another superb book from this author!

A Little Christmas Charm is more than a little charming! It features Gabby and Owen who work for the same company. From the outset it is clear that they both are hugely attracted to each other. Despite her initial reservations about getting involved with someone at work, Gabby agrees to go out with the charming and very good looking Owen. Their relationship quickly becomes quite intense and rather steamy! Yet, Gabby is holding back on committing properly or even calling Owen her boyfriend. With Christmas on the horizon, she is planning to head off for a week of sunshine as she has often been let down in the past, particularly at Christmas.
I felt A Little Christmas Charm gave an unusual slant on relationships as it was Gabby who didn't seem to want to get to committed and had trust issues, where often in romance novels, it's the man. As we get to know Gabby more, it becomes clear why she feels this way and why she is very reluctant to trust anyone. It was really quite sad to read about her childhood where she experienced very little emotional support, leading to her fear of being let down. Her rather brittle exterior was a facade she had built up to protect herself from disappointment.
Owen was a fabulous character and I really enjoyed reading about him. Quite apart from his obvious good looks and charm, we see through his care for his father that he is a very compassionate and committed person too. It was so frustrating for him and Gabby - and for me as a reader - when events kept conspiring to thwart their plans. Owen kept having to let Gabby down and although for totally understandable reasons, I could see why this was so disheartening for Gabby. Owen felt awful too but he was put in some impossible situations throughout the book. I began to despair that they would get a happy-ever-after.
I was so happy to meet up with Faith and Adam from last year's Christmas novel by Kathryn Freeman, A Little Christmas Faith, near the end of the book. I won't tell you how the stories connect but it was lovely to find out what had been happening for them in between books. And I loved the way that Adam in particular could see that Owen was one of life's good guys. The lesser characters in the book all fitted in so well to A Little Christmas Charm from Owen's ex Stella, to his grumpy Dad, lovely little Zoe and his PA Hilda - even Gabby's mum showed her better side in the end.
A Little Christmas Charm is another winning story from Kathryn Freeman and is a perfect book to curl up with on a chilly winter's evening. There is romance and charm aplenty to warm your heart. A book to fill you with Christmas spirit and leave you with a smile on your face.

There are certain authors that I know without a doubt will deliver heartfelt stories any time of the year, but particularity at Christmas... Kathryn Freeman is high on that personal list. Last Christmas season we were given the gift of A Little Christmas Faith which stole my heart, this year A Little Christmas Charm gives us another couple with layers to spare. Gabby and Owen seem, on the surface, to be polar opposites... but dig a little deeper and you'll find two people who are searching for the very same thing, someplace, someone to belong with forever.
It takes skill to present me with characters who I didn't particularly warm up to at the start of this journey and slowly, but certainly peal back their layers to allow me to have a glimpse of what happened in their past that shaped them into who they are today, or the events that are driving their reactions at this moment in time. I felt that way about Gabby and Owen. They both have faced disappointments and challenges in their lives to bring them to this point. Now they have a chance to find that elusive happiness and sense of belonging... if they are brave enough to take the risk, and wise enough to show their true colors to each other.
There were many moments in A Little Christmas Charm that had me chuckling out loud, and others that simply broke my heart. That's what a good story is supposed to do, engage my emotions - and you'll find a lot of those in this Christmas Romance. Full of interesting characters, beautiful Christmas festivities and locations I was easily caught up in the lives of two people who obviously are attracted to each other, but need a bit of a push to take that final step. If you read and enjoyed A Little Christmas Faith then you'll be delighted at running into old friends and discovering how they are doing today. (And if you haven't read the first story, then you certainly should pick it up for it's a delightful Christmas love story)
In all, I had a wonderful time with A Little Christmas Charm and would recommend it to any reader who loves not only a good story, but a heartwarming Christmas Romance as well.

The author is at her best with her characters and their development. The book begins six weeks before Christmas as a committee meets to plan the corporate Christmas party. Owen Cooper, successful salesman, blessed with looks and charm, has begun to realize that the new employee in Marketing, Gabby Sanderson, is quite enticing.
Owen begins his “sales campaign”. The relationship between Owen and Gabby progresses from flirtatious and gentle to full-on sensual pleasure. A tropical getaway for two during the holidays is scheduled. But then…
We learn more about Gabby. She has had an unusual upbringing that has left her with major trust issues. To her, Owen is just another flirt, a casual fling. As the days count down to Christmas, can Owen win her heart forever? Can Gabby finally discover and reveal her feelings?
We learn much about Owen and Gabby and how life and love can get complicated. Each of these main characters is well-developed, likable and memorable. We also get to meet a mix other characters, from work and family that add magic to the story. The young girl Zoe is a charmer herself. And Christmas is fully on display, with all the wonders of the season. (Turns out Owen is the master of corny jokes. You’ll love his “groaners”.)
Many readers will enjoy the slow romance of Owen and Gabby. Owen is a darling guy. For me, the story dragged, filled with too many similar descriptions of Gabby’s trust issues.
For readers who are wondering- yes, there are many “bedroom scenes” in the book. Nothing graphic, but plenty of mentions of heat and passion.
I’m sure Kathryn Freeman’s fans will adore this book.

Owen Cooper is a bit of a charmer, the quintessential salesman, who can talk himself into and out of many a situation and yet, when it comes to charming his work colleague, Gabby Sanderson, he really has to try hard to get her to even agree to go for a drink together. Gabby has her own trust issues and even though she is attracted to the handsome, Owen, there are lots of things that Gabby has to sort out before she can commit to a relationship.
A Little Christmas Charm is one of those wonderful feel-good stories which draws you in from the very beginning. I enjoyed getting to know both Gabby and Owen but, for the life of me, I couldn't see why Gabby was taking so long to be charmed by Owen, he seemed such a handsome hunk, and they had such fun together. However, the course of true love never runs smooth and the complicated processes of both of their lives means that there is always something, or someone, ready to thwart their plans.
The author has done a great job of creating believable characters who very quickly start to become people you really start to care about. And even though Gabby was a bit prickly from the start and it took me a little while to warm to her character, the author's gradual defrosting of Gabby made getting to know why she acted in the way that she does, all the more interesting and such a delight to read.
I loved everything about this story, from the 'will they, won't they' aspect of Gabby and Owen's complicated relationship, to getting to know the other characters who flit into and out of the story, especially Sidney, Hilda and young Zoe, who collectively add a real sense of warmth and wit to the story.
This is the second book in the Christmas Wishes series which started with A Little Christmas Faith however, it can easily be read as a standalone story. Filled with all the warmth and understanding that we have come to expect from this talented author, A Little Christmas Charm is the perfect antidote to Christmas Stress.

It's no way to start a review, but I will admit that I didn’t entirely warm to this book's characters at the start – Gabby seems a bit of a cold fish, Owen the kind of flashy salesman type that I’d usually cross the street to avoid, and the initial focus on the world of work wasn’t really quite what I was expecting. But, as I read on, I just loved the way their brittle layers were shed to reveal a heroine struggling to come to terms with many years of rejection, and a hero who won my heart as the depths of his (and his own vulnerability) were uncovered. This was such clever writing, capturing that slow thaw as they both, slowly and surely, grew to realise that they’d found something rather special.
The supporting cast was particularly wonderful, and rather made the story for me – particularly Owen’s father, complete with his budgie and hens, and Owen’s PA Hilda. The family content of this book is just so very well done – there’s Gabby’s difficult relationship with her mother too, and the complications caused by young Zoe and her mother Stella. There are times in this book you almost want to cover your eyes – or intervene because you can see how everything’s going so badly wrong as the countdown to Christmas continues – and feel a real frustration that they don’t just all talk to each other and sort things out. Don’t get the impression though that it’s a book filled with angst and soul searching – it’s a quite gorgeous and heartwarming read, with some wonderful touches of humour, even a few laugh-out-loud set pieces, and enough tinsel and Christmas lights for the most ardent Christmas fan.
The full blurb for this book mentions that it’s linked to A Little Christmas Faith, but it certainly isn’t a sequel – in fact, I wondered quite what the link was until not far from the end. But when you come across it, it’s an absolute treat, and – if you loved the book – well worth waiting for. Another lovely read from Kathryn Freeman – I really enjoyed this one.

I certainly wasn't disappointed with this well written romance. I find that Kathryn's books are eminently readable with a lovely fluent writing style. Although not particularly likeable at the beginning, both the central characters prove to have much more going on than appears from the surface. You come to see that they both have their vulnerabilities. Owen might be all easy charm at work but you realise that there is much more to him than that. With an ageing parent and an almost step- daughter, he has to step up to the mark and take on his responsibilities. Gabby has had a difficult childhood and felt let down by her mother. It remains to be seen whether she can come to terms with having to give way to other people.
I particularly enjoyed the developing friendship between Owen's father and Hilda, his P.A. You first get to glimpse that Owen has hidden depths when he interviews for her post. There is humour to be found in some of the secondary characters, especially Zoe, who brings a blast of young angst with her. There are some lovely inter-generational moments with some pointers about what is actually important at Christmas - such a contrast to the business meetings where the story begins. Gabby's relationship with her Mum casts some light on why she is so wary of relying on others.

Another stunningly beautiful and encapsulating read from the lovely Kathryn Freeman.
I read this so fast and still didn't want it to end. I just wanted more (as Kathryn manages to do with all her books).
We meet Owen first and he finds himself on the Christmas planning team for the Christmas party for the third year running ...however this year, Gabby will be there. (Gabby is the new Marketing director and stunning.)
Gabby can't wait for her holiday at Christmas. She hates everything about it. She had a childhood of being passed around to family members and being continuously let down by her Mother - who was off helping those in need rather than seeing what was happening to her own family.
All is not great for Owen either - he was left heartbroken by a previous relationship and is now not allowed to see the beautiful girl, he still thought of as a daughter. His father is still grieving for his wife and Owen's sister, moved to France to raise her family - so he is spending Christmas alone.
As fate often does, it lends a helping hand to try and repair past relationships, family ties and bring about new romances.
It was lighthearted and funny. The rollercoaster rides of Owen andGabby always left you wondering whether fate really is real or whether it is just a cruel twist instead.
It was a lovely read and I loved that Faith and Adam made an appearance too. The Old Mill Hotel still had the magical sparkle and the desire to go there and feel it for myself 😀 🎄

This book oozes festive warmth and charm in spades and I was pulled into the story from the opening page and taken on a beautiful journey.
What instantly captured my attention was the flawed relationship between Owen and Gabby which felt real and honest and not manufactured for aesthetic purposes. I fell head over heels for Owen and his dazzling blue eyes, you can't beat a blue-eyed dreamboat in a romantic Christmas story. His character shone brightly with his unwavering charm and bad jokes to match and he stepped into the role of Gabby's love interest with such style and flair. Far from being a one dimensional heartthrob, his character displayed a depth of feeling that draws you in and his love for young Zoe and his Dad moved me greatly. Gabby is a complex character without a doubt.
Fiercely independent with a crippling insecurity from a childhood filled with broken promises and terrified to trust anyone and let them near. I mean why make it easy for the star crossed lovers to find their happy ever after? But for me the stand out character came in the form of Hilda, her story melted my heart and I felt she added that extra special charm to the story.
A Little Christmas Charm is a story filled with trials and tribulations that will leave you glowing with warmth and happiness safe in the knowledge that love can conquer all. This is a cosy and festive read that is uplifting and warms the heart and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this book.

Christmas must be on the way as this is the first book of many I will be reviewing over the next month or so.
I knew I recognised Kathryn’s name so looked back at previous blog tours and that was when I found a blog post from almost exactly a year ago to the day that I read my first Christmas book of 2017, which was Kathryn’s book ‘A Little Christmas Faith’, so this is becoming something of a tradition for me now.
Just like A Little Christmas Faith I really enjoyed this new book by Kathryn and felt it was a very nice Christmas read.
The book follows Gabby and Owen throughout the Christmas Season. Gabby is a bit hard to get into to start with as she seems very aloof, but as you learn her back story you find out why she has trouble falling in love and trusting people.
When she meets Owen she slowly starts to fall in love with him, but if it was all plain sailing then this would be a very boring and unrealistic book. They have their ups and downs and at times looks like they could be going their separate ways, and Gabby has to make some tough decisions in her life before everything falls apart for her.
Overall this is yet another brilliant Christmas book by Kathryn and I look forward to more from her in the future.

When Choc Lit asked me to review a new book by Kathryn Freeman I was very keen to do so, even though I firmly believe in leaving Christmas until December. So with higher than usual autumn temperatures outside I sat down to imagine that it was in fact nearly Christmas. No problem, as usual by half way down the first page I was far, far away and totally transported to the world of the story. I don't think the description of the book does it justice, as usual in Kathryn Freeman's stories there is more going on than the surface shows- how do you juggle the needs of your older parents with what you want to do? All the characters are real people, I think this is what puts these books into a class of their own. My mother had an aviary of budgies and it was enjoyable to be reminded of them. Also we are vey attached to our chickens so I entirely sympathised with Owen's father wanting them cared for! Really this is a great read for anytime of the year but does re-inforce the ideas of Christmas. Even more fun to re-visit Faith at her hotel, if you have not yet read A Little Christmas Faith then that is another treat.

This is a book about a relationship between two very different people which should never work ‘on paper’. Despite demons from the past and real life getting in the way Gabby and Owen can’t deny their mutual attraction… but are they really meant to be together?
Gabby has built up a wall around herself and believes that a career is all she needs, something that she is firmly in control of. Owen only has to rely on his looks and cheeky charm to get women falling at his feet.
I immediately felt protective towards Gabby, desperately hoping that Owen’s intentions were honourable and he wouldn’t break her heart. I didn’t need to worry because it soon became clear that Owen was actually a deeply caring man, under his cheeky chappie facade. Would Gabby let down the barriers enough for Owen to warm her heart and give her the Christmas that she deserves?
The characters are so believable and multi-layered it was a sheer joy to see the relationship develop. There were so many sweet and tender moments, interlaced with humour and emotional backstories. A beautiful festive read, highly recommended and another absolute gem from Kathryn Freeman!

So I actually saw this book was coming out only a little bit after I posted about ‘Oh Crumbs’ (read review here) and I knew it had to be something special. Kathryn Freeman does romance like no other and on seeing the word ‘charm’ in the title, I had an idea that that was what I was really looking for, an extra special Christmas book, with all the trimmings.
I was especially interested when I saw the ‘sea and sunshine’ bit in the blurb as I tried to put that with the cover but anyhow I jumped straight in. I’ll admit Gabby wasn’t my favourite person, there’s prickly and there’s straight talking and Gabby is both of these things but she was nicely balanced out with a range of characters I easily warmed to.
The romance was gorgeous (as expected!) as was the expertly done Christmas story-line which brought with it some the most heart warming, beautiful loveliness and charm. I fell for so many people in this story and by the end had it ticked as a book I’m going to be recommending that people put on their Christmas day reading list, to have with their tub of ‘Celebrations.’ Gorgeous!

Owen and Gabby work for the same company. Owen has taken a shine to Gabby, but there are so many obstacles to overcome before Gabby feels the same way. Not only does Owen have a bit of a reputation with the ladies, but there is a strict no relationships rules within the workplace. Gabby has also been let down one too many times in the past, so it takes a lot for her to trust someone again. As Christmas approaches and Gabby faces it on her own again, Owen suggests that they jet off to sunnier climes for the Christmas period….
This was a lovely Christmas read! I loved the two main characters, although just as Gabby is wary over her relationship with Owen, I was at first a little bit wary of Gabby’s character! As the story moves on though, and you get to know Gabby better, you can see that both Owen and Gabby are a match made in heaven! You also get to see the story behind Owen as well, and realise that both of them have their reasons for being like they are. As with many storylines like this, you know that the course of true love never runs smoothly, and this is exactly what happens here. The book really grabs you with the story and you find yourself willing Owen and Gabby to get through everything that is thrown at them.
I really loved everything about this book and thoroughly enjoyed reading it! It was romantic, funny and had a huge helping of Christmas thrown in. The writing was wonderful, the characters were genuinely likeable and it was such a heart-warming easy to read book. Would definitely recommend it and it is an absolute perfect winter warmer for this time of year.

Really, the title of this book tells you everything that you need to know about it. It is a charming Christmas tale filled with everything you could want from a festive novel. It is a wonderfully warm book, and is the perfect read to give you that cosy Christmas glow.
I found that every one of the characters touched my heart, each for very different reasons. Owen is truly irresistible, and I found that elements of Gabby’s trust issues really resonated with me. I loved getting to know each of the characters and found that I was really rooting for each of them to get the Christmas that they deserved.
I have read a lot of Christmas novels over the year, but A Little Christmas Charm is without a doubt one of my favourites. It left me with a warm feeling, and a reminder of what Christmas is really all about.

It's that time of the year again when we are all reaching for something a little more festive to warm us up on those long chilly evenings and A Little Christmas Charm is the perfect little something.
This story promised oodles of Christmas charm and Kathryn Freeman did not disappoint. I found it to be the perfect combination of charm, festive cheer and romance, I couldn't put it down.
The characters Gabby and Owen have copious amounts of chemistry and despite the fact it took me some time to warm up the Gabby, her back story was heartbreaking to read. Sick of being let down, she no longer allows anyone close enough to let her down until she starts working at the same company of Owen Cooper, who fancies her from the very beginning. Owen irked me somewhat, despite promising not to let her down he still manages to put the feelings of other people before Gabby but it all works out in the end and Gabby gets the Christmas she didn't even know she wanted.
Kathryn Freeman's writing style was perfect, the words just flowed by and kept me entranced throughout. Why don't you warm yourself up this Christmas with a copy of A Little Christmas charm.

Owen and Gabby are like chalk and cheese, total opposites, plus there's the problem that they both work in the same company where there's a no fraternizing rule.
After experiencing a lonely and neglected childhood, Gabby is unable to rely upon anyone and definitely not the office flirt Owen.
Owen will need all his persuading skills to convince Gabby that he's not trifling with her feelings, except his past history is causing her to question his trustworthiness. Well written with credible and likeable characters.
