A collection of tiny essays and random thoughts shared on the author´s bookstagram @thegreat.divine_
Tiny Essays is a book to those who feel deeply and unapologetically. To those who love wholeheartedly. It is a book filled with daily reminders and tiny messages for those who might need to hear it. For dreamers and lovers. Artists and believers.
It is a book meant to be read by the heart; to be appreciated. To change perspectives and to make the reader fall in love with the art of living and (self) loving.
It not only has random thoughts shared by the author daily on her bookstagram, but also (love) poems - among so much more.
a beautiful and heartfelt collection of poems about the human experience and what it means to love deeply and whole heartedly. this is the first poetry collection i have read and i will certainly be re-visiting this book in the future to hear her words again and again. i’ve always loved ines’ writing and have supported her for many years and i’m so so proud of her for putting her beautiful work out into the world.
and remember, look for planet surfaces on your morning coffee ☕️ always climb the damn mountain 🤎
*Disclaimer: I'm friends with the author so my opinion is a bit biased. I tried to be as objective as possible*
First of all, I'm just so proud of Inês for putting this out in the world. It takes a lot of courage to let other people see this side of you, something so personal. This book will be forever special to me because I'm in the acknowledgements which is one of the biggest achievements in my life.
I enjoyed most of the poems, some hit really close, others didn't which I feel is quite natural when you're reading a collection like this. I loved it when she talked about books, readers. The one where she talks about mistakes and how mistakes can shape who you are but don't define you hit really close. I know that when I'll need some comfort I'll turn to this.
I'll admit that I thought all of the poems would be full length with which I mean poems that would fill up the entire page. Sometimes there were poems that were more of a Pinterest quote but honestly who doesn't love Pinterest quotes? I honestly do. I just thought I would mention this so you don't go into it with the same misconception as I did. There are also some pictures included from her Instagram so if you like those, definitely go check out her account (;
The collection talks about themes as nostalgia, longing and disappointment. There are no trigger warnings for this book as violence or grief but just know that these themes are mentioned in case you're sensitive to this.
I should begin by thanking Inês for finally publishing this book. I still remember when we were thinking of ways to reach more people and how to print it the best way possible.
This book is beautiful. It is love in pure form. Easy read poetry but one that touches you. It’s like you’re hearing the autor in your heart and absorbing it all. It’s empowering, loving, touching and it feels so simple but it’s so profound and beautiful.
I cannot thank enough Inês for publishing it. I just want to read it over and over again.
*I'm a friend of the author and a huge admirer of the woman she has become. So my review might not really be impartial due to the fact of my believing that only such a person could do something like this* "Tiny Essays" is an adventure. I spotted myself putting down this amazing book only to get in touch with my feelings and to calm myself down due to all the brutal (yet painted so beautifully) truths I was reading about. This masterpiece touched my heart in a way i could only possibly imagine. Inês, I am so proud of you and I do love you for being so brave, wise and for being this unique person that I'm lucky enough to call friend. "Tiny Essays" is a must-read. A book that must be cherished. This book gave me something I didn't know I needed. I am a soul "who feel deeply and unapologetically".
I read "Tiny Essays" right after it came out and I can't even put into words how much I love this tiny book! Although I'm not a regular poetry reader, I really enjoyed this collection. Inês wrote these poems for herself, but in doing so she wrote about things I felt too but struggled to express. Her poetry feels like a personal conversation and speaks heart to heart and soul to soul. I can't wait for the next treasures she'll choose to share with the world.
P.S. Inês, I am so proud of you!
P.S.2: I come back to some of the poems from time to time and they still never fail to amaze me 🩷
"Do not attempt to turn yourself into a noun, when you were born to be a verb" Inês' writing is pure magic in form of words. She's capable of fitting whole cities, whole planets, whole galaxies in a simple metaphor. It's heartwarming. It's soul consuming. It's alive. It's magical.
