Clara needs money, so she gets naked online.
Of course, she gets a stalker that gives her a lot of money.

descriptiondescription

She thought she was safe, after all, she's in the other side of a computer, should be safe, right?
Clara is going to find out, nobody's safe with internet.
Behind the screen doesn't protect her, when someone wants to know everything about her.

descriptiondescription

But when the stalker becomes her saviour…
Clara gets everything.

descriptiondescription

It's a short story, spicy, light reading.
Don't expect anything more than that.

It was good! I liked the story and the characters were well written but the stalking part of the book was way to long. I waited 70% of the book for something to happen between them! I would have preferred that the book was a little longer so we could actually learn more about the fmc

I’ve been so excited for this novella. You wouldn’t be my greedy, grabby hands! Pansexual camgirl? Genderfluid stalker? High spice, low plot? Dark romance? Oh yes, please and thank you to all of it!

This novella was a bit of a fun project for Dana Isaly, sprung forth from her brain when she saw the cover (Can you blame her? It’s a great cover!). Clara is a camgirl, just trying to get by on her own in Boston. She works in a coffee shop during the day and cams by night.

Io is a private investigator, of sorts. They’ve been hired by Clara’s father to find her. The guy’s sketchy though, so Io’s been taking their time to study Clara thoroughly to really make sure they’ve got the right girl. Yeah. That’s totally why they’ve been taking their sweet time and fobbing off the client with excuses as to why there are no answers yet. It’s not because Io’s obsessed.

As Io works to gain Clara’s trust online, her obsession grows into a sense of possession and a hard protective streak. Clara needs to learn some lessons.

This book isn’t meant to be anything but what’s advertised: an erotic thriller novella with low plot, high spice, gender fluid and pansexual representation, a camgirl, and a masked stalker. The spice is very nice, though it’s mostly solo until the back end of the story. When those couples scenes hit, though, BOY HOWDY was I here for it. Io and Clara were smokin’ hot together. Steam up the windows and burn up the sheets.

Terrific novella just in time for Halloween. Loved it.

I was provided a copy of this title by the author. All thoughts, opinions, views, and ideas expressed herein are mine and mine alone. Thank you.

LOVED this one! The sapphic & genderfluid stalker romance novella of your dreams! Don’t listen to the reviews saying it is all smut, though, there’s barely any. Really hot and perfectly-paced, though.

This novella was everything I hoped for and then some, a chaotic, steamy little ride that knew exactly what it wanted to be and didn’t waste a single page pretending otherwise. If you told me I was getting a pansexual camgirl, a genderfluid masked stalker, a ton of kink and just enough plot to string all that filth together, I would have already had read it long long before!!!

Clara, our main girl, is doing what she can to survive in Boston. By day, she works at a coffee shop and by night, she turns on the camera and becomes someone else entirely, pouring her energy into the world of content creation just to make ends meet. She’s independent, a little guarded and not looking for anything serious, but then comes lo and lo changes everything.

Now lo isn’t just some casual viewer. They’ve been hired by Clara’s estranged father to find her, but it becomes obvious very quickly that their interest in her goes far beyond a paycheck. What starts off as a job quickly turns obsessive, with lo watching her streams, studying her every move and slipping deeper into a twisted fascination that’s equal parts protective and possessive. They claim they're just taking their time to “make sure they’ve got the right girl,” but anyone paying attention knows the truth:
lo doesn’t want to find Clara for someone else, they want her for themselves.

The chemistry between Clara and lo builds slowly, simmering beneath the surface through every online interaction, every near-encounter, until it finally explodes in scenes that are just as filthy as they are intense. The first half of the novella is heavy on solo spice, but once they come together, it’s game over!! Raw, hungry, and so charged it practically crackles off the page. And yes, the masked stalker fantasy hits exactly the way you want it to.

What makes this one so fun is that it never pretends to be something it’s not. It’s not trying to be a deeply layered emotional romance or an intricate psychological thriller, it’s a queer erotic novella with niche kinks, high heat and just enough plot to give the chaos a little structure. And honestly? That’s exactly what makes it so good. It knows what it is and delivers it with zero shame.

So if you’re in the mood for something a little unhinged, undeniably spicy and unapologetically queer, with a camgirl, a masked stalker, some light obsession, and a whole lot of heat…this is one you’re going to want to grab!!!
Just be prepared: it’s not soft, it’s not sweet, but damn is it satisfying.

I liked this a lot but I think it was way too short to develop anything like "real" between Clara and Io. Also, it could’ve had way more smut, don’t get me wrong the book was hot but I think if it had been longer we could’ve gotten more background story, romantic development and smut.

There aren’t a lot of FF books out there so I appreciated this one. I definitely liked it and recommend reading but i would've liked more. Toodles!

This so cute!
I really liked Clara and Io back and forth is was short cute and spicy.
Io was just as Clara despised them beautifully feminine and handsomely masculine and I loved their dominant loving aura.
Clara was short sexy and sassy and really like how she didn’t just even into Io but in some sense made them work for her.
Dana is the queen of Novellas and I really enjoyed this one so you got to check it out for yourself and see what fun is behind the screen!

I randomly stumbled across this book while scrolling through Kindle Unlimited and the cover immediately drew me in and after reading the blurb I was sold and had to read it. Cam girl with a stalker!? Yes please.
I am somewhat bummed that this was only a 80ish page novella as I actually really enjoyed the storyline and I was left wishing for more.

Another great novella by the Queen of novellas! Behind The Screen is an all spice, low plot, stalker novella with gender fluid and pansexual rep, and I really enjoyed this novella.

Clara is a cam girl, and Io is somewhat a private investigator who has been paid by Clara's French father to find his daughter.

This novella is now available.

ARC Review - I was very excited by the concept of this book, though to be honest the whole pansexual aspect is not one that I really enjoy. I understand there are so many different types of people in the world, but it just isn’t my thing. That being said, I did enjoy Io and Clara’s story. There was a tiny bit of plot, but this novella is mostly spice. As with many novellas, if you go into it expecting a masterful story with tons of plot and twists and all of that, this is not your story. If you want something short, spicy and sexy, this is for you.

🦋💙🦋💙🦋💙🦋💙🦋💙🦋💙

Behind The Screen is a short and spicy story with mystery, spice & spooky elements. Clara is just your regular broke girl who works at a coffee shop & lives in a place that CONSTANTLY smells like pizza.

She decides that she would take a try at camwork, and surprise! She makes a ton of money and she can finally afford to buy herself some food and stuff - But what happens when one of her obsessive fans finds their way into her life. Will Clara be safe? Or is her new fan more than just a fan?

Tropes 🍕💖
- Nonbinary Character
- Masculinity, Femenity
- Camgirl
- Camgirl x Fan
- Stalker
- Super Hot NBMC 🥵

RATINGS AND THOUGHTS 💭 ✨
I was creeped out halfway through the book because as someone who has spent their WHOLE life on the internet, the whole doxxing and stalking just creeps me tf out. I just ... It gives me the ick.

idk It was eerie and I kind of figured that since it was a stalker novel it would happen but I almost had a panic attack 🥲

I didn't know the character was nonbinary but when I found out I was SHOOOOOK. 😍 I love the rep, absolutely love love love.

The smut was good but Dana Isaly 100000% has better books than this one

I Really Wanted to Like This Book...

I really truly wanted to like this book; however, it was less than perfect. One, I'm against authors plagiarizing other's work, and Dana Isaly did that with another one of her novels. Two, it was never explained why Clara abandoned her family in France to live a life of sub-par conditions. Yes, her dad was a controlling jerk, but it was never explained if he was legitimately evil. Three, I'm trying to expand my reading horizons by reading books I wouldn't normally go for, so even though I read this book from start to finish, I couldn't get accustomed to Io being referred to with they/them pronouns. I'm not complaining, just mentioning there's nothing wrong with someone being comfortable in their own sexuality to be biologically female and masculine at the same time. All in all, the concept of this book was contemporary, relatable to the occasional Only Fans girl in the financial aspect, and the sex was hot. Plus, the ending was quite sweet, even if it didn't end with marriage and kids, which is something I'm crazy about when reading almost any epilogue. I know I'm being somewhat critical, but that's just what happens in the territory of a book review.

Clara is struggling to make ends meet so she becomes a cam girl outside of her normal job. So far, she’s made some money off it and decides to start offering one on one options for her viewers. One viewer in particular who watches all of her streams, takes her up on this offer and is willing to pay any price. However, after some one on one chats, Clara finds out this viewer knows everything about her and exactly where to find her.

That viewer is Io. They are a type of private investigator and they believe the cam girl is the one they have been hired to find by her father. But Io runs into the issue of falling for Clara. Becoming obsessed. They decide that they are going to make Clara theirs and they aren’t taking no for an answer.

This was such a fun, quick, and spicy read 😍 everyone knows I love a good stalker romance and this was perfect 🔥 This is worth the read 🖤

I've had this book on my kindle for a while now, but I just hadn't really gotten around to reading it. It was Unholy Romance Readers March BOTM, and because I've had it so long, I decided to go in blind.

One thing I will say is that I didn't expect it to be a sapphic romance. I don't really like sapphic romances, as I find they don't keep my interest. I won't say that it was an unexpected surprise because I did kind of like this one, but I wouldn't have probably read it if I knew beforehand.

Anyways, I did like this novella, and if you're wanting a little introduction to the stalker trope, this is a good book to read as it's not that dark. The book's plot was alright, and the spice was there, but I feel like Dana could have put more into this book and made it a little longer. This book was an interesting read, and while I like Dana's books, this one just wasn't for me.

Dana Isaly's latest offering proved to be a delightful departure from the conventional romance novels I've encountered before. Intrigued by the unique premise and my previous positive experiences with Isaly's books, I dove into this new release with high expectations. I wasn't disappointed.

What sets this book apart is its non-binary love interest, a refreshing and welcome addition to the world of romance literature. As a reader, it was my first time exploring a narrative with a non-binary character at its center, and it turned out to be a genuinely eye-opening experience.

Dana Isaly deftly introduces readers to a different facet of romance, one that transcends traditional gender norms and expectations. The non-binary character brings a new perspective to love and relationships, offering a nuanced portrayal that challenges and expands the boundaries of conventional storytelling.

In true Dana Isaly fashion, this was outrageous, farfetched, and just overall cringe. But that's what makes her stories easy to read, and why I keep going back for me, despite the lack of substance. Ya know when you just need to read mindless spice? That's when I choose one of her shorter books to get me through. This was weird and not at all realistic but I did actually enjoy both the MCs, which is a change up from some of her others. It was fine and satisfied the spice itch.

A high-speed romance between a camgirl and a stalker.

The camgirl went from absolutely terrified to attracted in a blink of an eye, which was unrealistic. The stalker goes by they/them and is non-binary, I believe - it wasn't very clear but that's no issue. However, the stalker was hired by the camgirl's father but we never did find out why or what came of it. It just ends.

Perhaps it might be because there was less than 90 pages but there was no substance or depth to the relationship. It honestly had the vibe of a one night stand. The characters felt distant - we know absolutely nothing about them - and it was just impossible to feel engaged in their relationship. I enjoyed my previous read from Ms Isaly but this one was very disappointing in comparison. Overall, a very forgettable book.

3.5 stars.

I’m usually a big fan of Dana’s writing and while I enjoyed the writing in this one, it felt very unfinished. I’m a sucker for a short, spicy read, but this one was just a little too short and was left feeling unfinished. The story is titled “Behind the Screen,” but what happens behind the screen was left as a fade to black for the most part which was a bit disappointing. Once we moved past that initial disappointment and leap forward in the story, it got much better and became what I expect from Dana. However, after this the ending felt a bit rushed and left me wanting. I would have gladly waited longer for this book if it meant a bit more attention to detail.

All that being said, I still enjoyed the read. When it was good, it was good and I stayed until the end.

I'm so sad to say that I was super disappointed by this book. I've enjoyed everything else I've read by this author but...this book.... I don't know what to say. I knew there were stalker elements to it but...I think because there wasn't enough time to see their relationship before the real stalking started, it just felt...weird and almost forced. There were so many times I was rolling my eyes because how much do either of them actually know about each other. I feel like for this to actually work it needed to be longer to actually develop trust between them (which just feels wild to me. How does she trust Io???). And maybe for there to be any time to show what Clara actually likes instead of it all being what Io assumes she likes.

Way to short but amazing, nonetheless!

Wow! I genuinely wish there were 200 more pages of plot development and spice scenes because I adored this book. Even though it's a quick read, there is still plenty of spice, stalker development, and a really great dual POV. As someone who identifies as gender fluid, I also really appreciated the inclusion of a non binary love interest without their identity being a plot point. Clara immediately using neutral pronouns and never questioning Io just made me feel so seen and normal. Highly recommend this read!!
