It starts as a lie– but can it lead to love?If there’s one thing Ellie is sure of, it’s her deep-seated, undying hate for her brother’s billionaire best friend, Conrad Young. His endless comments about her curvy body make it impossible for her to trust someone enough to love her.
Conrad thinks the teasing and the pet names he came up with are harmless, but when Ellie drunkenly reveals how much pain he has caused her throughout the years, Conrad decides to change his ways and mend their friendship.
Unaware of her drunk confession, Ellie grows suspicious of Conrad. But when she finds herself in a sticky situation, she quickly discovers she has no one to turn to but her sworn enemy.Together, they raise the white flag and make a deal that will benefit them both.
But as they manage to fool everyone around them, they soon realize that the people they can never truly lie to are themselves.
Can Conrad earn Ellie’s trust and prove once and for all that he’s worthy of her love? And will Ellie finally let go of her hate and pride, and trust Conrad enough to give what they have a real chance?
After all, they say the harder you hate– the harder you love.
I absolutely loved reading the book 'Billionaire's Curvy Fake Fiancée' by Annie Paige. It was such a good story with a lot of heart and great characters. It had a scheming friend that played on the insecurities of a woman named Eleanor first by stealing the man she was interested in and hiding it behind her back for a long while and then by trying to sabotage her recent relationship that she has with her new love. Conrad is a wealthy business owner that grew up with Eleanor and her brother Aaron. In fact, he was Aaron's best friend and he had always been treated as one of the family. His use of unflattering pet names that he called Eleanor while they were growing up had always made her feel insecure about her body. He never realized it though until she informed him of this in a drunken rant one night. He silently vowed to never call her any of those names again. When Eleanor sees her friend and the man Eleanor had been interested in together Eleanor tells them it was perfectly okay because Eleanor had happily discovered her feelings for Conrad, and he is there to back her up. Then he asks Eleanor to pretend to be his fiancée in front of his ailing grandfather. They start a relationship, and with him being sweet to her and no longer teasing her with names, she realizes that she really likes him a lot. It is a wonderful story with a lot of interesting characters that keeps the reader totally interested until the end of the story.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I unfortunately didn’t enjoy this book, I liked the idea and the plot but i didn’t enjoy the story like I wanted.
I felt there was so much going on while nothing was really going on and the instant love wasn’t enjoyable to read either. It felt like events were missing to explain his true feelings or why certain things happened, when he explained his past feelings the timelines didn’t seem understandable and even he didn’t know how he felt or didn’t want to admit it, the back and forward I felt wasn’t enjoyable.
Overall it is a good story and the characters are okay but it just didn’t hit the mark for me.
Conrad was a billionaire but did not show off his wealth. His business partner was Aaron. Ellie was Aaron’s sister and hated Conrad. Conrad was also her brothers best friend from early childhood. Aaron had to go to Asia for the business. When he left he told Ellie to be good to Conrad. He had been gone for two years and his grandfather, who raised him wanted him home. So Grandfather lied and said he was ill. That got Conrad home and he lied and said he had a fiancé. Ellie or tangled in a lie and said that her and Conrad were in a relationship. So Conrad took that opportunity to ask her to be his fake fiancée. It is a good story, please read.
2.5 ⭐️ I did enjoy this book! There was some cheesiness, but it was still intriguing. I couldn’t get behind the way they texted; no one texts like that… I love the brothers best friend, enemies to lovers, and he falls first tropes! There were some plot and grammar errors, so it could’ve used more thorough editing. Lastly, in the ending it explained the Conrad-Ellie situation too many times. It was like reading the same thing over and over. I know the characters had to individually explain themselves to different people. However, I think it could’ve been written or briefed differently so that it was less redundant. Overall, the story had good bones and Kate is the real MVP!!! What-a-gal!
I wanted to like this book. And some parts were good. There are errors throughout the book… just just grammatical, but also the names are misplaced. And it felt so fast, suddenly they were in love. I couldn’t finish it once it got to the steamy part. It was so unrealistic. The
I totally agree with Lisbeth's review: I really wanted to like this book, but there were too many errors that kept pulling me out of the story - grammatical, spelling, and name referencing the wrong people. The storyline and plot ideas were great, but the writing just wasn't there for me. I couldn't finish the book.
I loved the vibe between the characters! She's shy and self conscious, but he sees her as so much more. The side characters are written great, even the characters you obviously are supposed to hate. I'm so excited to read more from Annie Paige!
I enjoyed reading this book a lot. This book was so good that I couldn't stop reading it until I finished the book. Obsessed with the characters too! For anyone who likes reading enemies to lovers, you'll love this book!
I definitely enjoyed the story of Ellie and Conrad. Though, I think Kate stole the show. She is a great bestie. I wish there was more to the 'dating' part. Things went a little too fast in the end.
Billionaire's curvy fake fiance was an enjoyable read the author didn't use an over drawn out drama to keep you invested in the romance between Conrad and Elie. The characters take you on a journey. Using their feelings for each other to create a yearning for the explosion of passion when they get together.
Ellie-phant? Really? He seen nothing wrong with that nickname? Especially for a young girl struggling with self image. I didn’t feel like there was much between the two main characters, there could’ve been a lot more scenes between them to help their relationship grow. Sarah was such a flipping beehive! She was truly a bad human and a horrible ‘friend’.
