My entire life, I've been taking care of my dad and cleaning up his messes. I love him, and I'd do anything for him -- even let myself get sold to Chase Vicious, the dark, handsome man who makes my skin shiver and my stomach churn.

I knew from the day I met him that he was bad news--but my days of avoiding him are over.

Chase delights in tormenting me, emotionally and physically, and he will stop at nothing until he's broken me. I'm going to resist. I'm going to stay strong.

And I'll never, ever tell him how much I get off on pain.

For me the hardest part of reading a book is starting it, it takes a bit for me to get into what I’m reading usually, but with Vicious? Psh, the crazy shenanigans start right off the bat! And I found when I had to put the book down, because life, lol, I couldn’t wait to pick it back up again!

Our two main characters are probably two of my most favorite written by this dynamic duo thus far. They effectively give these characters so much depth and I felt immediately connected to them without knowing much about them. really I could read another book about them no matter the subject matter.
I can’t wait for the next book in this world! We got to meet the MC from book 3 for the second time and he is going to be diabolical! So stoked.

As always this is a dark romance, check the triggers! If you like dark romance, definitely give this one a shot. Kinky spice, awesome characters and crazy shenanigans. YES PLEASE!

- FMC: May
- MMC: Chase
- POVs Included: Dual POVs (May, Chase)

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Chase has been obsessed with May for a long time. Since the time he met her and she didn't flinch at a wound she had, but seemed fascinated with it. He knew she was the perfect masochist to his sadist. But May didn't agree and continued to refuse his advances.

But when he has the chance to buy her from Giulio after she ends up being taken by him because of her father's debts, he grabs her up. And he plans to keep her for himself. But she isn't going to make it easy for him.

REVIEW:

Like the first book in this series (Savage), I found this one to be a little boring. Maybe it's because I am so used to the deliciously dark RH mafia romances that this author duo has put out. But even with the warning that it's not as dark, I was still bored.

It's just that everything is very repetitive. There are no surprises from Chase. Nothing is shocking because we already know what he wants. Every single sex scene is virtually the same thing (and there are almost too many of them because they get a little stale after awhile).

If I were to step back and look at things subjectively, not expecting the darkness of Lucia and Vanessa's books, then there are a few things I liked.

I actually really liked May. She's strong willed and snarky and I really liked the banter between her and Chase. But she has moments that drive me crazy too. Like her unnecessary denial of her masochistic desires. I don't get why she refuses this part of herself so long.

Also I didn't like her running off to her deadbeat dad. This was beyond stupid. I get the running. But why back to him? And look where that got them. Yeah, great idea.

In addition to (mostly) liking May, I also did like the sweet moments between Chase and May. I don't mind the noncon and CNC and usually I actually like those things in a dark romance book. But the way it was done was so repetitive and boring. Chase always says the same dirty talk, they do the same song and dance until he overpowers May. She denies liking it and then does. It's just over and over again.

The part where May and her dad get kidnapped by Jake the Lender and that whole craziness was interesting to read. I also liked the cameos by Giulio and Slayer. But everything else was pretty bland.

One thing I really would've loved to see also was their initial meeting. It almost seems like I should already know about it? Like it was in another book? But I just don't remember it. They talk about it briefly, but don't get into the details about it. Even if it was in a previous book, I think including it in a prologue here would've made a lot of sense to act as a refresher or for those who haven't read the other books. That really would've helped me to understand Chase's obsession with May more.

As a side note I was confused about Ntimacy being in this one considering it was closed at the end of Vanessa's trilogy. But at the end of this book it was also closed. So I suppose the timeline overlaps? Kind of confusing though.

Lastly, I was okay with all the pain play until they brought out the needles. That just sounded...yikes! No thanks. I actually cringe less during knife play scenes. haha Apparently needle play is a big no for me.

Overall I think I liked this one less than Savage because it was a lot of the same boring pattern as that one. It just didn't wow me and was pretty boring for me. I will still read Drake's book. But I'm hoping this author duo gets back to RH's because I LOVE their dark
RH's!

Wow, when I started this book, I didn't think I would like this one as much as Hunter's and Stef's.

But xiao mao Mei dug her claws into me. She is exactly what I would expect any captive (myself lol) to react in her position. Always negotiating and making the best out of the things given to her in life. Chase is the perfect hero or anti hero, however you want to look at him like.

I loved that this book was different from the others from R and A, starting out with some feelings from the hero's end. Did he go about it wrong? Yes, but he's a lawyer, he's scummy and an opportunist so I don't hold it much against him.

Another bit, loved when hunter and Stef showed up and I can't wait for the next book. The third piece to this trio of crazies. 💜

I hate May

Look, the book is fine, the plot is fine and as much as I want to say that if you enjoyed the first book you'll probably like this one I can't because May is insufferable. I can't remember a time I have hated a character more. And I can read about characters I hate or dislike but I didn't want to read about her. I don't even know how I finish this. That's a lie, I skimmed a lot.

May is supposed to be this kind hearted hardworking person but she is a b*tch the entire book. Even to Stef who does literally nothing! And while we're on my sweet little cry baby I'm going to defend her one more time. Steph had a full and complete character arc and never changed who she was at her core. She was dealt the worst hand in life and yet she remained kind. She had every reason to hate Hunter and she forgave him. And above all else, she took pride in her submission and never judged other women for the decision they made or situations they found themselves in, unlike a b*tch known as May. She's the opposite of a girl's girl and her reluctance and denial of her masochism became exhausting. I'm glad Chase was having fun but mama I wanted to die.

Every fight was the same, every argument was the same. Even after she had proof she still trusted and tried to protect her trash bag father. (And yes, I'm taking the ending into account, I still said what I said and will die on this hill). We were going in circles on the worst merry-go-round and I do not know how Chase got off. Speaking of which, I actually liked him. I mean not "like" because ain't nobody in this book likable but at least but he's an interesting character I found myself invested in. And because he actually liked May from the get-go we don't have a hard time seeing him as the love interest like Hunter. He's kind and cares about. I don't know why but he does. I guess in her case she's lucky because ain't nobody else going to put up with her nonsense.

You can't even rightfully say that she changed because she doesn't. She only becomes mildly tolerable true no growth of her own. It's only because she almost dies. Spoiler but not really, you know how New Bristol works.

One last minor thing, this didn't feel particularly smutty or anywhere near as kinky as the previous book or any of the books in the New Bristol world. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe because Chase likes her so we spend a lot of time with him just talking to her (and her being a b*tch)? I don't know. I don't want to say the smut was lacking but something felt off. That or my hatred of May was so intense that I couldn't even enjoy the smut. It's probably the ladder but I'm going to pretend it's deeper than that.

That's it, that's the review. The book is fine and I kept waiting for May to get better but she didn't. I hated her in the beginning and I hated her in the end. Now if you excuse me I'm going to go re-read the book I actually liked to expunge this from my consciousness. Three stars because I still like these authors, just not this book.

The hero asks her out on a date many times and she always say no. He saw her touching a cut on her hand after she dropped a glass at a catering gig where she worked as a server. He knows she likes pain. He even says she and her father are both invited to dinner to try to get her to spend time with him. She always refuses.

Her dad has a gambling problem and some bad guys show up and cut her dad's ear off, then take her as payment. She knows the hero is rich and wants her so she begs the bad guys to call him for the money. They sell her to him as a sex slave.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
MAJOR SPOILERS I SUMMARIZE THE PLOT

The hero puts her in his basement dungeon and repeatedly rapes her. He says he asked her nicely for a year to go on a date and she ignored him. She could have had the nice way but she chose the hard way.

He uses a whip on her and makes her bleed. He flogs her, uses a paddle, adult toys, and ties her up or chains her repeatedly so she can't keep fighting him. She always fights him and he likes that she resists him and is not a gold digger.

The hero also always gives her aftercare. He cuddles her, he makes her eat food after an intense session. He doesn't want her to be sad so he offers her privileges. He gives her a sewing machine and materials (she loves to sew costumes) and he lets her pick whatever she wants to watch on the tv (she picks anime). So he's not always terrible to her.

But the fact is he does terrible things to her and her body betrays her into liking what he does, against her will. The heroine likes pain and he likes giving pain.

He rapes her many times. Finally one night he falls asleep and forgets to lock the door. She goes home and tells her father they have to leave and hide. Her dad keeps wanting to go home. He tells a loan shark where they are. The loan shark says her dad doesn't have the money he promised so he's going to sell their organs.

The heroine gets cut up by an evil doctor planning to steal her organs before the hero finds her and rescues her. Her dad jumps in front of them while the bad guys are shooting and dies saving his daughter. After causing all of her problems in the first place.

The heroine has scars from the doctor's cuts. So the hero turns the scars into his name instead (with her permission). They have a big talk and he agrees they are in a relationship and she's not his sex slave anymore. He gives her a safe word. They are happy together.

Bristol series Book 2 is good, dark and dirty!

I received an ARC of this novel and was anxiously waiting for Chase's story. It was well worth it. I highly recommend reading Book 1 in the series so you can be familiar with this world and the characters. It has sone dark content, so trigger warnings are included and kinks are explored in depth, so read with an open and well-prepped mind. What I loved the most about the characters was that we learn early on that Chase and May have history and already know each other before their intensive "situationship" begins. Chase has been obsessed with May for a long time and finally gets an opportunity to have her and have her, he does. I was as conflicted with May's introduction to Chase's kinks as she was. It was hot and disturbing and I wanted more and I didn't know if that was right or wrong, but I was okay being wrong. I so enjoyed the push and pull of their relationship. Yes, Chase is vicious literally and figuratively, but there's some give and take that we get to experience with May. May isn't a weak FMC. She is stubborn, almost to a fault and she's a fighter. I love a forced proximity trope and when they were together, it was such an interesting character study read. Chase and May are really intriguing together. There are some intense sexy scenes between them that had my eyes bursting out of my head. Very heated!! I couldn't get enough of their interaction, especially seeing all of the layers of Chase he revealed over time with May. He's psychotic and all, but there are worthy qualities that only May was able to bring out in him. The story never got dull and there was even an adventure, suspense scene that sets up the next book in the series, which I am so looking forward to. Dark read, but overall HEA, with updates from other series characters. Highly recommend!

This is not your typical romance full of hearts and flowers. May has tried to keep her distance from Chase but recent circumstances have her at his mercy. The more time that May spends with Chase the more she gives on to the things and feelings that she has shied away from and tried to ignore. May will have to learn to accept who she is if she wants to survive.
I enjoyed Chase and May’s story. The two are good together. Their journey is not an easy one. It was nice to see the way their relationship unfolds. I enjoyed the way May grew and began to understand what she truly wanted. Chase is not a good man but he shows May that he can be her hero. I loved that May is not a simpering damsel in distress but a strong and feisty woman that holds her own. I was glad to see main characters that were Chinese. Being Chinese it was nice to see Asian characters that were strong and not a stereotype. This is a dark read so please make sure to read the triggers. The authors weave a good tale that had me right from the start and did not let go until the end.

Absolutely loved it. Even more than savage. I liked the added action.

I have to give the authors praise here, but before I do. I know that this book in no way describes a healthy D/s relationship that's based on safe, sane, consensual kink.

With that being said, the authors did an amazing job on describing the inner process a lot of masochists and subs go through. And I love how the experience of subspace and subdrop was described.

The only thing that bugged me was Chase saying he couldn't find willing women in BDSM clubs, and that they'd use the safe word when he got to intense. As someone who is very active in my local kink scene, I can tell you with certainty that many, many, MANY people would like what he did, and even worse. And yes, that is including the whole being locked up in a basement thing. Some would even be fine with not having a safe word. (which is not something I recommend, and again, this is not me saying this book is a good portrayal of a healthy kink relationship).

This was such a delight!

It's been a while since I've read a MF-romance and I really loved how Addison and Raissa wrote these two Characters!!

May is a masochistic firecracker and it was so entertaining to see how she stood up to Chase, but also see her squirm and suffer (in pleasure haha) <3
This was kinky, hot and also filled with some action I really got so hooked I read this within 24hours (damn sleep)

I've read this as a Standalone and didn't feel I missed out on something!
I can't wait to see what Girl will wrap Drake Brutal around her finger ...hehehe...

Be aware that this is a dark romance that follows a nonconsensual 'relationship', sadomasochism, bodybetrayal and more. The authors took good care and wrote a very elaborate authors note, so please check in if this might contain personal TW/Limits!

Ok so I knew the type of story I was getting in Vicious.
But I was also pleasantly surprised and impressed that the storyline and plot are more complex than I was expecting.
I really liked that there was more complexity to everything about the characters, the plot and the intricacies of their wants and needs.
The “romance between Chase and May is so far from typical.
It’s extreme and it fits their personality and their needs.
I actually really liked Chase. There is a lot to him.
He isn’t one dimensional. He has many facets to him.
And May is also a complicated character.
Her mind is at war with her body. Her thoughts and her wants are at fighting against each other.
Very good and gripping story.
I was captivated from start to finish.
**4.5 solid stars for this intense story**

Be prepared for a deep dive into the dark and twisted world of Chase Vicious. This book is very dark, so make sure to check the trigger warnings if you have topics you need to stay away from. Overall, I really enjoyed this read! It is well written, had a strong FMC (no simpering, whiney, pathetic female here! She's got fight and fire!), and a plot that kept the story moving forward. If you enjoy spice, be prepared for lots of steam! I also loved the language and culture references. Characters were well developed with strong backstories and consistent character traits. Growth is obviously important to see in stories, and both characters changed and grew throughout. Overall, well worth the read!

If you are looking for an over the top obsessive MC then Chase Vicious is your man. Chase’s obsession with May pushes him to do wild things for example purchasing her from Ntimacy. I love the interactions between Chase and May. I love the fact that he loves how she fights and talks back to him. That she doesn’t back down and still has that fire in her even though she’s had a rough life. May has spent majority of it taking care of her dad. If you are looking for super spicy BDSM scenes then this is the book for you. The aftercare from Chase is so touching.

I cannot get enough of the New Bristol Billionaires!! Chase Vicious is delectably dark! The lengths he will go to make May his is thigh clenchingly amazing. A s@distic dom with a surprisingly gentle side ( just for his May)

Donovan & Wolf have created the most enticing world for us and I'm 100% living for it. I devoured this book in a single sitting.

It was a good read. Took me a bit to get into it. Was still good though. I like the characters. I like how Chase compliments May. I like how May discovers things about her self while with Chase. It’s not a conventional relationship. Chase bought May now she’s his personal toy. She didn’t have the best like before Chase. Now they have to navigate their new relationship. Will May escape Chase or will things take a turn for the romantic? Check out Chase and May’s story. There are dark themes to this story. Check your trigger warnings.

Arc copy received Amazing continuation to this series. Lots of spice and a great storyline too. I loved getting to know Chase and May. Cannot wait for Brutal's story, I already feel sorry for whoever he ends up with, poor girl is certainly in for a rough ride. 1000% recommend this series and the ones prior to it as the other characters pop up throughout. It is not necessary to read the others as essentially it is a standalone, however you certainly get more from it if you have the knowledge from the previous books.

Wow… this book one minute had me on the edge of my seat and the next I was fanning myself from all the heat! The story itself was intense, and who doesn’t love a OTT MMC?!? The banter and chemistry between the FMC and MMC is perfect! This was my first book read by these authors and it’s safe to say I’m hooked!

I really enjoyed this book. Please make sure to check trigger warnings as it will not be for everyone. Chase and May find their way together through unconventional circumstances. We read how Chase and May come to love each other despite everything they go through. I love a good enemies to lovers story and this definitely delivers.

Chase Vicious definitely lives up to his name. I don’t think obsession is an accurate enough word for the way he feels about May. The push and pull dynamic and the little bit of bite that May had made for a fun read. I can’t even tell you how many times I laughed at their witty banter. It’s such a great balance for how… intense some of the scenes were.

The characters in this book are great. May and Chase are amazing together. I love them, they fit so well.

This book is definitely more fluffy non-con, but it still has that element of dark.

I really loved reading this book, and am very curious for the last standalone in this series as Drake also deserves love 😝

great book!

May was sassy in this book and I loved it. Though she was a smart tough girl well Chase enjoyed it. These two were great together. The spice was very zesty and I was surprised that may definitely has a high pain tolerance. This book was great but please kind the trigger warnings .

How cute Chase&May are together 🥹

Fluffy ńôn -çoņ indeed. Chase knows what he wants, and it's May 👀👀

Even tho the book is full of 🌶 Raissa and Addison bring up some very real issues. May is half Chinese/American living in America with her American dad.
Chase is Chinese but have lived a long time in London before moving to Bristol.
Deep down May and Chase bonds over being "different" than the society around them. Chase even helps May with learning chinese, a language May's not fluent in after her mum left her.

I'm terrified of Drake but also sooo intrigued. He seems like Hunter&Chase combined 😩
Poor Baba. And I hate Stef🙂
