I was gifted this book by my sister-in-law who has 5 children 🥰
I really enjoyed this simple book that held profound truth! Furman reminds us of God’s intention and design in godly motherhood is to sanctify us to become more like Christ which gives Him glory! She challenges us to see the beauty of motherhood with an eternal mindset rather than being stuck in a busy routine that can breed a negative, bitter mindset.
Though I fully agree with the premise of this book, I do believe there is more to the purpose of motherhood than to just give God glory.
I believe motherhood can give us a a deeper understanding of God’s beautiful character! Through the love we have for our children, we can see how He loves us! An unconditional, all-consuming kind of love! 💕 Love is the central piece. God is love! The greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind.
Personally, I felt that loving God was overshadowed by Furman’s need to give Him glory. Yet, love is what gives God even greater and more genuine praise and honor! Maybe I am being overcritical, but I couldn’t give the book a full 5 stars when I felt like it was missing such an essential component.
I loved the truths hidden in this tiny little book of encouragement for mothers who want to honor the Lord in their motherhood. I only withheld a star from my review because I can't put my finger on why exactly, but maybe the chapters could have flowed better or been a bit fuller.
