He needs a girlfriend and she needs some cash. Both of them get more than they bargain for when they strike an unusual deal.
Grant - The last thing I want to do is watch my brother marry my ex-fiancée. Nothing good can come from showing up to the wedding alone and revealing to my family just how much I haven’t moved on.
If I had a girlfriend, it might be a different story, but I’m definitely not ready for another relationship. My best friend’s suggestion that I hire a fake girlfriend is out of the question – except that it seems like the perfect solution to Annie’s dilemma, too.
Annie - I’ve never been a damsel in distress, but a streak of bad luck has left me so short on cash that when Grant proposes a deal that will help get my bank account back on track, I have to at least consider it.
All I have to do is pretend to be Grant’s girlfriend for a couple days at his brother’s beach wedding. Sure, it’s an unconventional arrangement, but how bad could it be?
The Wedding Date Deal is a sweet romantic comedy that will keep you laughing as you travel from Nashville, TN to the beaches of Florida. If you like meddling friends and family plus a slow-burn romance with chemistry but not too much heat, this is the book for you!
Tropes: Fake dating Rich boyfriend Family drama Slow burn romance Closed door/kissing only
The Wedding Date Deal by Jordan Millsaps is a contemporary romance that swept me into a sunshine‑kissed tale of awkward beginnings and unexpected emotional warmth. Grant, still reeling from being left at the altar by his ex‑fiancée who is now engaged to his brother, needs a believable date to his brother’s beach wedding so he doesn’t face family questions about his love life.
Annie, on the other hand, is juggling a streak of bad luck and a pressing need for cash, so when Grant asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend, she agrees even though the whole idea feels strange at first. Their deal takes them from Nashville to the Florida shore where meddling relatives, tender conversations, and the slow‑burn of real connection transform a pretend relationship into something much harder to classify. The story is a clean romance with dual point of view, plenty of laughter, and just enough family drama to keep the beach wedding setting lively.
I loved how emotionally grounded both leads felt, even within a familiar fake‑dating setup: Grant’s vulnerability about his past heartbreak and Annie’s practical but open‑hearted nature made them easy to root for in different ways. Their chemistry unfolds gently and, for me, created moments that felt tender without ever becoming too intense for the book’s tone.
The pacing is brisk, with funny scenes balanced by moments of quiet self‑reflection, though some of the romance tropes felt quite familiar if you read a lot in this genre. The playful banter and the gradual shift from convenience to genuine care kept me engaged, and the family dynamics added a sweetness that made the whole story feel cozy.
Rating: 3 out of 5. I chose this score because the characters’ emotional growth and the book’s warmth carried me through its comfortable familiarity to become something genuinely touching.
'I will not allow myself to fall in love with Annie Daniels.'
Ahhhh. The never say never trope mixed with fake dating. I love it and am here for it, every day of the week!
This book is a super fun, fast-paced, Hallmark-esque book that is highly entertaining. I love the push and pull of the fake dating and trying not to fall, or admit that you've fallen aspects. I loved the family dynamics and am hoping this is a series for the siblings. They all deserve a happy ever after and I need more of them!
I loved the setting. I loved the descriptions and found myself completely lost in this book and needed to know how this was going to end. I could sense the drama and this book did not disappoint!
Read this one for a fun escape, romantic tension, family drama and a happy ever after!
Thanks to the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
Content: abandonment, positive therapy representation, family drama, kisses only.
What a delight! The Wedding Date Deal delivers on all the things you want in a rom-com: swoon-worthy, sweet, and a story that has you cheering for true love. Annie + Grant = perfection!
Started with high hopes since the synopsis sounded so cute and I love a fake dating romance, but I ended up not feeling their chemistry, at all. The writing was so bland, unfortunately. I just kept wanting more, more tension, more inner dialogues, more scenes with them together having the time of their lives… It did not work for me.
No chemistry at all between MCs. I felt like I was reading a novel from the 1950s. The two fingered salute, the sweet clothes, the distance between everyone. It was just not interesting at all to read.
The fake dating trope is quickly becoming a favorite for me…and this one did NOT disappoint!
This story follows Annie and Grant. And let me just introduce you to Annie here with one of my favorite quotes…
“After books, food is probably my next biggest personal interest.” - Annie
I mean, let’s be besties…right? LOL
Annie and Grant first meet through mutual friends at a backyard BBQ. Grant has been experiencing very challenging events in his life. He had been engaged, only to find that his fiancé was cheating on him with his brother! WHAT!? Now, his brother and ex-fiancé are engaged to be married. As much as he would love to skip the wedding, family is pressuring him to attend. He figures the only way he’s going to survive this dreaded event is to find himself a date. Not just a date, but more so a woman willing to be paid to pretend to be his girlfriend so he can act as though he’s very joyfully moved on from all the drama of his past relationship. Annie decides that she’s up for the task.
What Annie didn’t realize when accepting this “job position”, was that Grant comes from an insanely wealthy family. Next thing she knows, contracts are being drawn up for her to sign and she’s soon being whisked off to fancy French dinners, first class flights and seaside mansions in Florida.
As if this twisted cheating ex-fiancé/brother plot isn’t crazy enough – wait until you read what unfolds around 75% in! LOL This book was a PAGE TURNER to say the least! Fast paced, exciting, funny, exceptional character development, beautifully written and absolutely 100% squeaky clean.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Me faltaron más capítulos, necesitada leer más citas, más secretos, simplemente más.
Spoilers ⚠️ ⚠️
The Wedding Date Deal is Jordan Millsaps' debut novel and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next! I can already tell it'll be something equally amazing.
This sweet rom-com reminded me of a Hallmark movie with its fake dating trope, witty banter, and awkward moments. Grant wants nothing less than to watch his ex-fiancee marry his brother. I mean, who would? But if he does go, the only thing that could make it bearable would be having a girlfriend to take along. At least that way it would look like he'd moved on. Annie has never once considered taking a job as a fake girlfriend, but she's in a bit of a jam financially and desperation tends to make people do things they wouldn't have typically done. After all, it can't be that bad, right? Spend a few days with a handsome likeable guy at the beach, go to a few (probably awkward) events, and come home with a decent cheque: seems pretty straightforward. But of course, it won't be. And we get to go along for the ride.
Here's what you can expect from The Wedding Date Deal: ⭐️Fake dating trope ⭐️Witty banter ⭐️Awkward moments ⭐️Sweet romance ⭐️Beach setting ⭐️Estranged family ⭐️Redemption
I loved every moment of this witty romcom. I literally could not bring myself to put it down and read it in less than 24 hours! Fake dating tropes are always fun and I was rooting for Grant and Annie from the very beginning: they were just so perfect for each other. I also enjoyed seeing Grant interact with his family and the healing that came through all the heartache. If you enjoy a good romcom with a few deeper aspects, you won't want to miss The Wedding Date Deal!
*As a launch team member, I received a complimentary copy of The Wedding Date Deal. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My positive review is not required.
I want to give the author some grace since this seems to be her debut, and there were definitely parts of the story I enjoyed. But the turning point for me was when Marissa (the OW) tried to kiss Grant (MMC) and the Annie (FMC) caught them. Her reaction felt like an overreaction, especially since the main couple hadn’t clearly defined their relationship yet. If they were officially dating, it would’ve made more sense.
Also… proposing on her birthday? The book had potential, but a few plot choices just didn’t land for me.
Okay. Lets start with the cover. I really love the layers, the silhouettes in the background. Plus, I always love a romcom book that isnt pink! (To be honest, i love the pink ones, too)
Next, Grant and Annie are so good. I will call them Grannie. 👌 They have an instant attraction and some solid but subtle flirting throughout and I approve.
If you like fake dating, wedding backdrops, sisters, good friends, and food, this book is for you!
This was such a fun rom-com! Yes, it's a fake dating trope-always fun-but both Grant and Annie are more invested right from the start. I love Annie's loyalty and support for Grant. And you don't often in a rom-com get a real villain like Marissa-a terrible person! Great supporting characters. Very sweet, clean story with a light theme of faith. Loved it!
When you start reading this book you will not want to put it down. I love how it flows between Annie and Grants perspective so flawlessly. The characters are wholesome and lovable. The storyline is captivating. It’s a really great book.
MMC was too soft. I don't love alpha-holes but this guy is an anxiety-ridden golden retriever. I like my MCs to have a little confidence or self-worth.
I can't read any more kicked puppy energy from him.
Annie is so fun! And I love how she loosens up Grant since he’s definitely a more serious guy! This story was so much fun and a perfect fake relationship story! There are so many fun characters and I’m excited for more stories!
I loved this book! Jordan Millsaps does such a great job at bringing Annie and Grant’s characters to life! I enjoyed every page and even experienced a few gushy tears. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
annie is so incredibly annoying at almost all points of the book. if you are a fan of : miscommunication annoying characters a 96% slowburn missed opportunity
This read was good although it had a very predictable plot. Fake girlfriend turns real girlfriend with lots of drama so you don’t know if they’ll make it.
