Love this first issue!! It gives me some Hogwarts/Yu-Gi-Oh GX vibes and I am here for it. Love that the running line is “Find your light” and that there is a school for Power Rangers! Where do I sign up?!
So begins anew adventure into the universe and a child of a power ranger legend just joined the academy. Hello Murphy's law. Awesome artwork and writing!
This was such a good graphic novel! It would have been five stars but I rated it four (or more like 4.5 but I can't on goodreads) because the art color seemed to change from chapter 1 to 2 and it threw me off and there were some story points that confused me a tad bit. I hope they clear up the story points in future issues. I was a huge Power Rangers fan as a kid, that being said I remember nothing of them as an adult lol but I really enjoyed this story and different take on the lore of Power Rangers and how they come to be a Power Ranger. For anyone who like the Teen Titans graphic novel series, you should definitely give this one a read when it comes out because it gave me similar vibes and was a lot if fun!
A cute YAish first issue, I liked the characters and setup well enough, loved the subtle then not subtle nonbinary character. I especially liked the backmatter. In the end though, I have enough power rangers issues piled up that I don't need another series that isn't connected to the original team at all.
I know absolutely nothing about Power Rangers, but I loved this first issue. The artwork (colours, lines, faces...) was absolutely stunning and the characters very loveable. I can't wait to read the next issue.
