I met David Cole at the Missouri Book Festival (great guy!) and bought two of his cozy math stories for my Free Little Library… but I also wanted to read them, (even though I am much too old to be the target audience!)
I would have loved these as a kid! This story about a pet turtle shows kids how to think through an “area and perimeter” problem to build an enclosure for the turtle. They also use logic and reasoning to try and solve a mystery. I enjoyed playing along with the math puzzle, the story was engaging, and the pictures were really cute.
Definitely recommend for the young readers who love math and books!
