I fell in love with an international rockstar... Then I fell for his best friend.

Love is a strange thing.

I thought I was done with men after I divorced my ex-husband. I mean, who would want a single mom with more emotional baggage than she can handle? All I wanted was to sit in my favorite spot, in my favorite café, and sulk.

But all that changed when I saw Michael effing Jones. The movie star. The rock legend. My idol. Just my luck, for once.

There’s only one problem. A gorgeous problem with eyes to die for. His name is Avi, and he’s Michael’s best friend. They’ve been together through everything, but now that I’m here…

Michael is raw passion, impulsiveness, and glamor, Avi is an island, strong, unfazed. The crazy part? They’re both into me. And day by day, I feel like I’m into both of them .

I know I should have made a choice. But maybe, possibly, there’s a way to make this three-way relationship work?

Complete review of ~Double Devotion:~by Sima Ben. Our story begins with the introduction of our (central) female character Sam who, after being divorced twice, and feels sad and lonely on the first page is great for a story that tells: a strong directness that throws the reader, \"into the world of the story and the characters\". and explains to us almost everything about her), (8.5/10) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ and then we meet the supporting characters (and our main ones) Avi and Michael. After the story's "crew" meet, they begin to get to know each other better with the help of a scene, which enriches the reader with Sam's status (upper middle class), and explains the difference between Michael and Sam. Which leads us to the middle of the story which feels "stable" to the reader and explains the personal and group conflicts of our characters. The story also breaks tension from time to time in favor of "sex scenes" which feel natural and unlike other stories in Gunner serve a purpose for the story and the reader. (8/10) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Like the rest of the story, the end of the first book in the trilogy feels great, thanks to a good chemistry between the characters (who feel as if they grow up with the reader. ) and a world rich in \"colorful\" characters which provides a certain escape for the reader. Like the end of the "arch" of our main characters is very beautiful and you can see their growth until the end of the story, I especially liked the fact that Sam Abby and Michael get from each other what they need in order to grow and more than just another "relationship" "They learn to love themselves and each other more. (8/10). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Summary A very nice and refreshing book. I highly recommend this Gunner to book lovers, who are not afraid to \"shake the top of the tree\" and want to take that risk. and in my opinion this is an example of a story worth reading despite these problems. I give the first book in the "Broken Hearts" series ☆☆☆☆ (and a half)/☆☆☆☆☆ Stars.

more than just steam

“Double Devotion: LOVE HEIGHTS" really pulled me into its story about love, healing, and finding yourself. It's all about Sam, who is figuring out life and love after her divorce. She meets two men, Michael and Avi, who both bring something special into her life, but in different ways. This book isn't just a regular love story; it's about how love can change us and help us grow. It's a powerful part of the "Topography of the Heart" trilogy that shows how complex and beautiful love can be.

A Heartfelt Journey of Love

This book instantly captivated me with its emotional depth and intricate relationships. The narrative skillfully intertwines love, betrayal, and redemption, making it impossible to put down. The characters are beautifully developed, making their experiences and emotions feel intensely real. It was a rollercoaster of feelings that left me eager for more. This is a powerful start to what promises to be an unforgettable trilogy. Perfect for anyone who cherishes a deep, thought-provoking romance.

playing with fire

A woman’s journey after her divorce involving 2 men, yes, a love triangle, a little bit too fanciful when it comes to men’s support towards a woman they don’t even know. I enjoyed most of the book.

I fell in love with the writing, it shows the true love between them. Their flaws. And how they fix them. Shows how much effort you put into every single book you make, your amazing and I recommend this book for everyone.

Romance - with variations!

Israeli author Sima Ben makes a strong impression with her debut novel of her Broken Heart Trilogy - DOUBLE DEVOTION, translated from the Hebrew by Grace Michaeli. She introduces her principle character, Sam, as the story opens: ‘It’s been months since I have been able to breathe freely and painlessly. My entire protected, familiar world has changed beyond recognition. I was left alone with sadness, shattered dreams, and one huge hole in y heart. I tried to hold on to my only bliss - my only son, my beloved Roy…’

Life for Sam is about to change, as the ‘in character’ overview of this episode relates: ‘I fell in love with an international rock star... Then I fell for his best friend. Love is a strange thing. I thought I was done with men after I divorced my ex-husband. I mean, who would want a single mom with more emotional baggage than she can handle? All I wanted was to sit in my favorite spot, in my favorite café, and sulk. But all that’s changed when I saw him: Michael Jones. The movie star. The rock legend. My idol. Just my luck, for once. There’s only one problem. A gorgeous problem with eyes to die for. His name is Avi, and he’s Michael’s best friend. They’ve been together through everything, but now that I’m here…Michael is raw passion, impulsiveness, and glamorous, Avi is an island, strong, unfazed. The crazy part? They’re both into me. And day by day, I feel like I’m into the both of Them. I know I should have made a choice. But maybe, possibly, there’s a way to make this three-way relationship work?’ So begins a promised trilogy that examines the interplay of three people in a complex romance relationship - a well-scribed new novel that deserves a wide audience!

Dnf. 26 pages and a can't continue reading it. I just can't. I think the writer is in mlm or was... U can't justify your stupidity with writing a book about it. No.
And i can agree with the another review, the writeing style is a little early begginer/ high schoolish.
I think overall the story has potential. Just forget the imaginary "marketing job". And work on the style a bit.

Could not get into this book whatsoever. Took me a few weeks to make it through. Received as a free book from a giveaway on here. Did not care for the storyline or the love story. 1 star is being nice on this one, not for me.

DNF I could not finish this book. Typos, poor sentence structure and it just seemed weird. Didn’t know how this took place in Israel. Also who gets on a boat with a stranger? I could not get into this book. I know it is a first book but it wasn’t for me. Maybe a better editor would help.

A well-crafted romantic drama...

Sima Ben’s Double Devotion: A Millionaire Rockstar Second Chance Love Triangle is Book 1 of The Broken Hearts Trilogy. It’s a great romantic drama that not only dazzles with its rich imagery but sweeps the reader with the complexity of the characters' emotions and feelings in what ultimately unites and separates them. It achieves an unexpected flow in its development and even more unexpected magic in certain moments. Nothing about the book is overwrought or over-the-top; it’s an impressively well-balanced, pleasing work. It’s perceptive on several levels, particularly in its study of romantic entanglements, its take on the role of the celebrity, and its commentary on style versus substance. This finds the author delivering a romantic saga that fans of the genre will enjoy. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me. DNF - quit at page 18
Wow, this reads like a high school girl wrote it. The FMC is not a believable or even a viable character. And cigarette smoking, just not cool in todays standards, especially if she’s going thru a nasty divorce, she couldn’t afford them. I just felt like the 2 guys hitting on her were also not viable characters. All 3 were not anybody I’d want to read about. Just no, couldn’t bring myself to continue. Glad this was free on Amazon, so I don’t feel bad for wasting money on it. Definitely deleting from my Kindle library!

At my age (61), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
