While Alphonse Sutton was serving two years in prison, an unfortunate event occurred that would change the trajectory of his and his kids' lives forever. Alpha comes home prepared to change his life for the better and make sure his daughters know that they can forever lean on him. Coming home is bittersweet for Alpha because all he knows is fast money and changing his life for the better comes with too many uncertainties. Alpha hates feeling like a charity case. He wants everything to fall in line for him and come easier than it is. Watching his best friend Dame blow money fast has Alpha almost tempted to dive back into the streets, but he knows he can't risk leaving his daughters again. Fresh out of prison, Alpha is only concerned with getting his life on track but the beautiful Brooke Kelly comes along and offers him some relief and proves to be a pleasurable distraction.

Brooke Kelly is newly single and not in a rush to replace her ex. Brooke is tired of being cheated on and disrespected. When she meets Alpha and finds out he's newly released from prison, she knows it wouldn't be wise to take him serious, but Brooke falls fast. And she doesn't just fall for him, but for his kids too. Moving too fast, stressors of the world and fatherhood along with financial responsibility has Alpha rethinking some of his actions and wishing he could do things differently. Alpha is winging parenting, working, and trying to be a good boyfriend and some days, he feels as if he can't win for losing. Take this ride with Alpha and Brooke to find out if he gets it right in the end.

Stepmama Season showed up and showed TF out. From the very beginning, this book had me in a serious chokehold. After doing a two year bid, Alpha is fresh out of prison and looking to restart his life. With the death of his baby mama, he now has full custody of his two young daughters so, returning to the streets for that quick and easy money is no longer an option. He already has a new job lined up and his boy, Dame, loaned him his house, his car, and flipped the money he was holding for him. So, Alpha’s new normal is headed in the right direction. Brooke is a hairstylist who’s about her business. Having gone through a recent breakup, sis just wants to make her money and build her ever growing clientele. Finding a new boo thang is low on her list of priorities. While enjoying a girls night out with her bestie, she’s introduced to Alpha and their attraction to one another is instantaneous. He wastes no time shooting his shot and, lets just say, he scored the winning shot that night. Both of them were just looking for an occasional hookup but, between Alpha’s charm, his adorable daughters, and Brooke’s nurturing personality, they couldn’t help but fall headfirst into a relationship neither of them were looking for. Stepmama Season was everything. This book gave me all the feels. The journey these characters embark upon is so realistic and so relatable. You get to see the highs and lows this couple goes through, you get to see unexpected life changes, you get to see hard decisions that have to be made, you get to see betrayal, you get to see heartbreak, you get to see the rebuilding of trust, and you get to see forgiveness. Because, lemme tell you, Alpha had to do a lot of azz kissing to redeem himself and the piss poor choices he made. But, he learned a valuable lesson. When your woman tells you what her hard no is and what she won’t put up with, believe her. If you have not read Stepmama Season, move it to the top of your TBR expeditiously.

Stepmama season is in full bloom!!!! This was such a good read and every single character tugged at my heart strings in one way or another! Even when they were fkn up I was still rooting for them to somehow get it together! This story was proof that sometimes a second chance is all you need to get your sh*t together and that it’s possible not to make the same mistake twice! Anyone can say they’re sorry and will do better but that changed behavior hits different and Alpha was proof of this!

The book kicks off with Alpha’s first day of freedom after a 2 year bid! He got hemmed up by them alphabet boys but luckily only had to eat a few years. While he was down, tragedy struck that left him as the sole parent to 8 yo Sienna and 3 yo Kelsi. Dealing with trauma of their own, these three struggled to navigate their new normal and the adjustment period was not easy! Thankfully Alpha had Dame, his lifelong friend, to hold him down. He made sure that Alpha came home to more than the basic necessities until he could get on his feet.

After a recent break up, Brooke is looking to drink more water, keep her stress low and mind the business that pays her! As a top hairstylist in the city Brooke is doing well for herself! Her bank account is sitting pretty and despite leaving her wealthy ex in the dust, she’s set financially. For Brooke she’s past what a man can do for her from a materialistic perspective and only wants loyalty and a man that’s all about her and not her and every other woman in the city.

Alpha and Brooke first cross paths during his “welcome home” night out at the club and their connection was almost instant. What started out as one night of fun quickly turned into more. There were many highs and just as many lows with this couple and while Alpha made some piss poor äss decision I can agree that him and Brooke took off faster than what he was ready for which led to their rocky road! We love a good redemption story and Alpha definitely redeemed himself! Brooke was a rider from day one and I absolutely adored how she cared for Alpha and his girls! This story will leave you feeling like all is right with the world! Don’t sleep on Stepmama season!

I cried real tears!

This book was so good from beginning to end. I had a serious connection with both main characters. Alpha and Brooke were such genuinely good people. Dame was something else but I guess he was OK. Davina definitely was that girl and I loved her whole life.
So many heartfelt moments in this story that I was brought to tears a few times. This book was definitely worth the binge I just did after working a full day.
Very much worth it.

I liked the story I did not love it. The repetition about the money, status and what Damon had was a lot for me. If you told me twice, I'm sure I can remember. Overall, the story was a goodread given the context.

Brooke was just such a genuinely good woman and friend. Alpha really didn’t deserve her but that’s what Grace is for. I loved her friendship with Davina and how Dame and Alpha supported each other.

Second chance

Sometimes all we need is a second chance. I was so mad at Alpha when he messed up but I’m so glad he got a second chance to make things right, the saying of you never know what you got until it’s gone is a true statement.

I was so in love with Step Daddy Season that I was so excited to see this. Alpha and Brooke stole my heart . It broke for Brooke but I got why she was moving like she did. I highly recommend this.

I'm about to get in trouble for this but...

I'm on Alpha's side.

Hear me out.

How many times has a woman stayed with a man because it was convenient? He helps with bills, lightens the load with the kids, & helping out around the house.

I don't condone him using her, I just understand why he did.

Don't get me wrong. He screwed up, but, I do feel like Brooke was on some high school sh*t.

I could understand her reasoning for not using her brain if she was a teenager or in her early twenties but boo, you over thirty. You are way too old to be letting your pu**y make life altering decisions for you.

When she told him that she was pregnant, she expected him to be like " yayyyyy three kids for me woooo!! " She was disappointed that he didn't give her the reaction she wanted.

Then what irritated me was that she made the decision to get an abortion because he cheated.(which I kind of don't blame him for) Her decision was purely based off emotion, not wisdom.

If Brooke had used her brain & realized that a man that just got out of prison is not looking for a wife but a good time, she could've saved herself a lot of drama.

When he asked her to be with him, she should've said no. But, like I said, she was thinking with her pu**y.

Alpha & Brooke's relationship was built on sex & convenience. Not romance. There's was nothing real between them. If she had stayed in the girls life but moved on with her personal life, I would've respected her but she let history repeat itself & let Alpha do the same Tyrin did. I couldn't even pretend to like her after that.

I feel like Alpha knew that no other women would play stepmama for his kids other than Brooke. I feel like that's why he fought so hard to get her back. If he didn't have kids, I think he would've let Brooke go & took full advantage of his freedom.

Davina & Dame are beyond toxic. There's no way I would've had baby with man that put his hands on me, I don't care how much he beg me to keep it.

I would've love to read a book about Alpha's mom. Other than that, I'm good.

I usually eat books up at this length, but I’ve been struggling to finish this one. Brooke was actually fine with me at first. I liked her, I understood her, and then the pregnancy happened and everything went downhill. The dramatics came in heavy. Needing space and alone time just to think because you’re pregnant felt like a lot, especially when y’all were having sex nonstop. Do they not understand how sex works. If you don’t want a baby, maybe don’t let him paint the walls every chance he gets.

Her considering abortion because Alpha already has two kids and she doesn’t want to “burden” him also didn’t make sense to me. Like you knew he had 2 kids BEFORE…Again, if that was such a concern, why was there no caution before. It was manufactured instead of a natural reaction.

Davina frustrated me just as much. If she’s really that well-off and claims she got it out the mud on her own, why is she sleeping with any man flashing money. Sleeping with Lance unprotected when she already knew it wasn’t going anywhere (her words) made her look reckless. She’s very careless with who she has sex with.

I hate when FMCs start doing dumb things to “prove a point” to a man. If you want to be a hoe, be a hoe on your own terms, not out of spite. Davina just looked silly.

It honestly felt like the author was stirring up drama for the sake of it, and the pregnancy trope was doing way too much. I forget sometimes that I’m reading a Natisha book and she loves a pregnancy, but this one didn’t hit.

At this point, I don’t even care how Davina and Dame end up, or how Brooke and Alpha end, because everyone is doing the most over something that shouldn’t be shocking. Y’all were having a LOT of sex. The pregnancy shouldn’t have caused this much chaos.

Here Is To Second Chances!!

Alpha came after serving two years. He went into daddy mode soon as touch down. Dame got him back on his feet and told him, he didn't have to pay him back because that's what brothers do. Brooke stepped out with Davina and locked eyes with Alpha and it was on after the club. Poor Lil Kelsi, she has nightmares. Sienna it effects her but she doesn't say anything. Alpha paid for his girls hair full price. They hooked up every time. Alpha shouldn't have ask Brooke to be his lady if he knew was going to cheat. She has been though it before with ex. He knew he was wrong with Brooke watching his girls. Dame flipped out on Davina saying that she lied. They were both single, so he shouldn't been choking her. Then Brooke hit him the bottle. Lisette was comfortable with Dame was giving her, except his heart. Brooke and Davina were pregnant at the same time. Brooke didn't keep her baby Davina did. Nicole mama know she was wrong Sienna heard her say that about Brooke. Dame knew the Feds were on him. He did what he had to do. He gave Alpha the backpack to Davina, Lisette, and him. The only bad thing is they had to get him at his kids reward ceremony. He only did four years, they could have gave him football numbers. Alpha had to sell there hours to accommodate their growing family. They gave Dame a coming home party .

Loved this ❤️❤️❤️

This story grabs you in from the beginning to end. Alpha was just a father coming home from doing his bid but wanted to be better for his daughters. Dame was such a solid and loyal friend, he was crazy with his personal life but he had a good heart. Brooke was out her on her grown woman business, starting the fresh new single life after having a lame for a ex. Alpha and Brooke first meeting set of fireworks and feelings they weren’t prepared for. Alpha made me so mad when he messed with Ebony thirsty self smh but I was glad it was one and done with no contact with her at all. I will always appreciate a man that owns his faults/mistakes any day. Brooke was strong and held out as long as she could but they love was real. They way she nurtured and loved those beautiful babies was amazing ❤️ Davina was a fool but I loved her personality because she had Dame out here sick 🤣. Dame was used to his slow baby mama letting him do whatever, that he thought Davina was just gone fall in line…. Nope lol. But I’m glad to see that he had matured those years he was down. Everyone got there happy ending and I was here for it !!! Amazing job as as always Natisha !

Loved It‼️

I hate what Alpha did but I’m glad he acknowledge his wrongs and got back right quickly. Pride was killing him slowly and he ain’t realize until it was too late. Brooke came in and stood ten toes down for them babies. Alpha came home with a plan and stuck with it and I loved that Dame didn’t try to talk his friend back into the streets. I loved that Sienna started to call her mom cause unfortunately Nicole is gone and them girls needed a mother even though she can’t replace her. I’m glad Nicole mom apologized cause she was dead wrong. It was nice to see Davina making Dame sweat when it came to their situation since he kept playing in her face. Dame was a good friend though and very dependable. I’m happy for the happy ending wish the epilogue talked more about the girls though.

Great story

Alpha came home and even though things were stressful he held true to his word and done things the legal way. Dame was indeed a true friend holding him down but it took Davina giving him a taste of his own medicine to realize what he had and the way he was treating his baby mama giving her false hope was wrong. So happy Brooklyn came into those girls life to help them heal and she took no bs from Alpha. When temptation comes it can come hard and when he made that mistake he knew what he had at home was genuine even though they moved just a little too fast when he first came home but him wanting what's best for his daughters after their trauma, and seeing what his best friend was going through he knew that the street life was not for him. In the end everyone found their peace and happiness.

Phenomenal Read 📚 👏🏾 ✨️ 🤗❣️

The author has excellent writing skills. The story was captivating while including everyday mundane tactics that weren't out of place within the story. The characters were complete and complex... like real folks, you could gate their actions without hating them. Everybody had nuances, which made the story rich and real. I'm glad everyone got a HEA because we're all supposed to grow and learn how to adapt and adult 🙃. Brooke was a wonderful woman and deserves all the love ❤️. Alpha got on my nerves at times but did right by everyone in the end. The auxiliary characters were great....I love litte Sienna! Children are blessings, and we need to be intentional about their creation and their environment because they suffer or survive from our choices. This is a phenomenal read 📚 👏🏾 ✨️🤗❣️

I liked the storyline

But one thing I would like for this author to do is to stop making unrealistic money references. Doing so makes the story sound more unbelievable than the fantasy that is being conveyed. For example, there was a reference in the book him not making 100,000 in income and what he was going to do once he did, but somehow he was purchasing a 379,000 home with no credit history. It's a small thing but I'm like come on man, how could he afford that house earning less than 100k with poor/no credit?....and this is not the first book where the author has made money and/or value references that just did not make sense. Just sharing my opinion....otherwise I enjoyed the book.

Yes, yes, yes!!

Come through Miss Brooke! Anyone who can take on kids, especially when they don't have kids of their own, is a hero in my book! Alpha fumbled the bag bad, but I'm glad they were able to get it together! I absolutely loved them together! As for Dame, his heart was big, and it showed! He got away on a goof deal if you asked me, but he needed that time to see who was gone have his back. Lisette was a typical gold digger who had no self-esteem worth anything! That's why I always say a man only gone do to you what you allow! This was why he was so stuck on Davina! Sometimes you have to lose the ones you love to find out who y8u really need! Great read

Ehh…unpopular opinion but Alpha lost it for me when he cheated. HE made the decision to be in a relationship knowing he was fresh out of prison. And let’s be clear he only did a 2 year bid, not like he was gone for 10+ or something wild. HE was well aware of what her ex did and HE made the conscious decision to cheat literally right after having sex with his girlfriend. So it’s not like he was lacking. Mind you, he’s insecure about his finances and her ex being a baller and he needed help with his kids and home but still played in her face. I would’ve loved to see her move on and he have to live with his decisions cause she was the prize, she literally made his life better/easier.

EVERYTHING!!
This book was everything I needed to bring me out of the readers block I was in. One thing about Natisha Raynor, you will never be disappointed in her work. I loved me some Brooke. They way she was with those girls made my heart smile. I was so angry with Alpha for his indiscretion, but I understood where he was coming from. One thing for sure is that Brooke knew her worth and didn't allow him to play in her face. She made that good brother suffer and work for what he wanted. I also loved Dame and Davina. Great read!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Natisha don't miss!!

I love how relevant this story is. The addressing of grief for children was beautiful because we forget sometimes that they're people too and they have feelings 🥹 Now I love how Brooke didn't play when it came to her respect. Alpha tried to be all macho and she let him know who runs the show 🤣 Dame and Davina🙄 toxic with a capital T! Those 2 and Lisette gave me gray hair. Lisette was the baby mama nobody wants to deal with because she live in delusion land🤦🏾‍♀️

Stepmama season

Stepmama season was just as good as Stepdaddy season...make sure you check it out. I was rooting for Alpha and hoping he was strong enough to fight all the temptation around him. I really loved the way him and Dame looked out for each other, as well as Davina and Brooke. With kids like Sienna and Kelsi i dont know who wouldnt want to be in their life. This is another recommended read in the extensive catalog of Natisha Raynor. She definitely has multiple books that will peak your interest.

Stepmama

I didn't enjoy this as much as 'Stepdaddy Season' mainly because there were so many bedroom scenes. The two main characters, Brooke and Alpha, were very likeable though. Alpha was determined to go legit after his prison stint and Brooke was a successful entrepreneur. She saw him for the man he was becoming, with no judgement, and was especially impressed by his insistence on taking full responsibility for his girls.
This story was a powerful testament of second chances, family (even without blood ties), despite all the drama.

I enjoyed this book

I couldn’t understand if he just got out of doing a two year bid why did Alpha think he was ready to settle down…Men do dumb stuff. He had a good woman but ended up cheating…Brooke better than me because I wouldn’t have taken him back until he begged me like Keith Sweat. I hate Dame ended up getting caught and had to go to jail for four years…all that money and didn’t start up a business was crazy. This was a good read one that didn’t contain heavy violence.

Alpha and Brooke had me hooked from the very beginning of this book. It gets 4 ⭐ because Alpha was wrong as two left shoes and I didn't agree with that being the hurdle they had to overcome. He knew Brooke's history, he was the one who wanted to lock her down, and he pulled some dumb shit. Brooke however gets the woman of the year award because no matter what, she refused to let those babies lose another person in their lives. Raynor once again proved she could reel me in with another great read.

Good Old Fashioned Romance

This was a good book. It didn't have all of the drugs, intimate scenes, killings, and twists and turns that you find in other books, but that was ok. I love those elements but this book had characters that I could relate to. I also loved the fact that this book was so well written. There were not many typos and grammatical errors that had me scratching my head or reading the same sentence three times trying to figure out what the author was saying. Kudos for that.

Amazing Read!!

This was an absolutely great book and I thought stepdaddy season was good. I love every part of this book and I even admired how great of a dad Alpha was. He really disappointed me with his indiscretions but I can understand a little where he was coming from although I don't condone it. I knew he definitely learned his lesson. Him and Brooke and the girls made a great family. Everytime I think Natisha can't give us any better she fool me every time. Amazing!!👏

You know

I didn’t want her to take his tail back but I guess I’m happy for them lol I get how he was feeling but to do my girl shady like that I couldn’t respect. But some men do learn from their lessons and deserve a second chance. I’m very happy for Brooke and the girls. They deserve each other. I also loved the fact that you let Alpha be so vulnerable. I think we needed to see that. 5 stars babe as always.

MUST READ🔥🔥🔥

Stepmama Season is in full effect. Brooke is such a great woman. I love how she bonded with the girls and didn't let the situation between her Alpha stop her from seeing and spending time with them. My heart broke for them girls on what happened to their mom.
I love how Alpha stepped up and did right by his children by getting a job and settling for that fast money.
I definitely recommend this book. Because you will not be disappointed.

Amazing Job

One word describes this book...Great! I really enjoyed Alpha, Brooke, Dame and Davina. The feelings expressed by both couples was nothing short of amazing. I was proud of how Brooke handled Alpha to let him know she wouldn't deal with pain again. Overall the Author kept the storyline flowing and the characters were amazing. I would love a spinoff, if not I still give 5 stars!

WHAT A LIFE

This story was very uplifting. Alpha was serving time for selling
drugs. His best friend picked him up and was very generous. He put Alpha money to work so when he returned home he allowed Alpha and his two young daughters live in one of his homes. Brooke owned her beauty salon. He took his girls to the shop and they ended up going together. They had some problems but got back together and even had a son. Worst Dessi b.
