This is the story of Finnley Wilbanks, a young woman whose father has just died and she is convinced that he is murdered. Seeking the help of Caine Honor after she seems to be targeted herself, Finnley finds in him not only a protector but someone who believes that she is in danger and who is willing to risk his life to save hers. Finnley has no idea why anyone would target her dad, a mild and quiet stationery shop owner. But she is absolutely certain that he did not commit suicide and even more convinced when she is run off the road and someone tries to shoot her. Caine’s job is not only to protect Finnley but to help her discover the truth so that she can move on with her life. This is a fast-moving and intriguing read. I was captivated by the idea that her father had been killed for no apparent reason. When the clues started appearing, I was compelled to keep reading to find out what really happened to him and why. The suspense is edgy, with non-stop action from beginning to end. The romance is a subtle addition to the story as both Caine and Finnley are somewhat reluctant to engage personally with each other. This is a multi-layered, cleverly written page turner that is tightly written and well paced.

We are back in the shadow of Mt. Rainier with Suspicious Homicide, the newest in author Elizabeth Goddard’s Honor Protection Specialists series.
Finnley Wilbanks is convinced her father was murdered, but her pleas for help fall on deaf ears. After she was run off the road, she turns to Honor Protection Specialists.
Caine Honor is assigned Finnley’s case, despite the little zing of a spark upon meeting her, he’s there to do his job and his job only. His heart is closed…or is it?
Someone is after Finnley, and while they work to keep a step ahead, sparks fly. But she’s been burned before. He won’t risk heartbreak again. But what happens when they each let the Lord direct their paths instead of themselves?
Between the non-stop action and attraction, I was riveted, and read it in one sitting! Plus, while it’s not labeled as such, the last chapter acts as an epilogue, and we all know those are my favorite!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

I received this book as an ARC with no expectation of a positive review. Finnley finds her father dead. The local police call it a suicide. Finnley knows better. How does she prove that her father did not kill herself. She is being targeted, but the police do not believe her. She hires Honor Protection Service. Caine Honor is hired to protect her and look into her father's death. Finnley finds that nothing in her life is as it seems. This book will keep you guessing until the very end. This is a must read for all.

This was the last book in the Honor Protection Specialists series. I have read them all. The entire series is really good, but I must admit this is my favorite. It has everything a good suspense story needs, getting chased by killers, not knowing the reasons why, and not getting the help from law enforcement that is needed. Book has a very good story line, and it kept my attention with several twists and turns, surprises cropping up, and not being able to trust anyone. Excellent read, highly recommend.

SUSPICIOUS HOMICIDE by Elizabeth Goddard is the fourth book in the Honor Protection Specialists series. It’s the fast-paced, adrenaline filled story of Finnley Wilbanks, as her whole world as she knows it seems to be tumbling down around her while death, mystery and intrigue seem to abound everywhere.

While the Devault County Sheriff and county medical examiner try to convince Finnley that her father committed suicide, she’s more determined than ever to prove them wrong. After someone ran her off the road and still the police won’t believe her, she’s submitted her application for a gun permit and she’s determined to learn how to shoot it in order to protect herself. She then realizes that she’s not equipped with the knowledge of how or the physical strength to follow through for possible threats along the way in getting the answers she wants and needs. She hires the Honor Protection Specialists to help prove her father was murdered. Presented with the facts of possible threats to her person, she also agrees to their protection services. Caine Honor is assigned to her case as bodyguard and investigator and will be in her close proximity 24/7 until the case is resolved.

Caine is the only of his siblings still single – by his choice. Having failed to keep the woman he had once loved safe, he’s determined to remain with no significant other. However, immediately upon meeting their new client, he felt a connection and is drawn to her. It’s feelings he will fight. It’s just a job and he’s a professional. As the threats keep coming, his resolve to remain impartial starts to melt away. His feeling towards her are probably just because of all the hardships she’s recently been through. First her father’s death, threats against her life and livelihood, the authorities lacking in taking her claims seriously and then finding out her father may not have been the man she thought him to be. That would have anyone with feelings of needing to support and comfort Finnley.

After having been fooled and left heartbroken not once but twice, Finnley was fearful to allow her heart to open up to feelings for Caine. “After her father’s death, she was already shattered, and she didn’t need Caine to spread the shattered pieced into the wind.” The more she was around him though, seen that he was genuine in his words and actions, she found it harder to fight those feelings until she knew she couldn’t turn them off even if it meant eventual heartbreak.

Why after all the years of going with his friend to scale Emmons Glacier, had Finnley’s father decided to take a cruise with his daughter this year instead? Why would he be excited about the trip and then commit suicide? Can Finnley find the answer to who murdered her father? Why are these men out to nab or kill Finnley? To what extent will they go to keep whatever they think she’s might know silenced? Who was Finnley’s father and what was he into with hidden rooms, rented storage units and a stash of guns when he claimed to be fearful of them? Will Caine and all the employees at Honor Protections Specialists be able to keep Finnley safe from harm as they search for pieces to the puzzle to eventually make a clear picture for her? What will it take before the sheriff’s office takes Finnley’s claims seriously? Who was Finnley’s father really? With her identity shaken, will Finnley ever find out who she is? Is it possible that answer will only bring more questions?

SUSPICIOUS HOMICIDE is a fabulously, well-crafted story that will grab you from the beginning and have you reading this incredibly story in one sitting. It a story of perseverance, family, seeking the truth regardless of the consequences, romance, danger and suspense. Elizabeth Goddard created believable characters that the reader can’t help but make a connection with while she wraps the whole story in a wonderful thread of faith. To me the story proved that sometimes you have to stand up for what is right, even when the odds are stacked against you knowing that your faith is your support – “Be not afraid; only believe.”

SUSPICIOUS HOMICIDE is most positively FIVE STAR reading! I highly recommend it to anyone that loves a clean suspense story, a sweet growing romance or just a downright fabulous read. Although part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone book.

I receive an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Suspicious Homicide. This is book four in the series Honor Protection Specialist. I'm a huge fan of Elizabeth's work. I love to read her books. This is an amazing one. It's well-written, action-packed, and full of drama. I know you are going to love it.

Finnley Wilbanks is upset about her father's death. They had deemed it a suicided but he was planning a cruise with her in just a couple of weeks. He was looking forward to the future. She knew he had been murdered but the sheriff won't believe her. She is driving up a mountain road when she is attacked and run off the road. She survives but when the deputy arrives he doesn't believe her. Why wont anyone believe her? She needs help.

Protection Specialist Caine Honor was called into the office by his brother. He is assigning him to Finnley's case. She just wants someone to find out who killed her father but his brother assures her she needs protection after she has been run off the road. Caine's not sure he should takes her case, she is too attractive. Finnley doesn't want him she wants his brother, not a good start to the case.

So starts a terrifying journey to find her father's killer before the Killer finds them. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and for a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life.

Suspicious Homicide by Elizabeth Goddard is book #4 in her Honor Protection Specialists series. Unfortunately, it's the last one and I'm so sad to see this series end. I loved reading about each and every sibling as they each had an adventure and found love at the end. This is totally a standalone novel, though. You don't need to read the previous 3 books to know what is going on. I couldn't put this one down. I picked it up just planning to read for a few minutes before bed and next thing I knew it was late in the night and I'd just finished. It was so exciting with a great storyline. I really felt Finnely's anguish over her dad's death and her search for answers. It felt like her world was falling apart and it was. Thankfully, she had Caine to protect her and help her as she discovers answers. It was definitely a page-turner as most Love Inspired Suspense are and I know you'll be on the edge of your seat with a few twists that are thrown in. I was given a copy, but all opinions are my very own.

This is the fourth book involving the Honor Protection Specialists, and I can't think of a better way to wrap up this series. The danger is non-ending, the questions overwhelming, and the uncertainty feels suffocating at times, but one thing is certain---Caine Honor will do everything he can to protect Finnley Wilbanks!

This intriguing story has twists, turns, and a surprise that I didn't see coming but it also explores the special bond between two people who've experienced heartache in the past. Author Elizabeth Goddard excels in writing suspense riddled with emotional drama, but she never fails to weave an inspiring faith theme into her stories. I highly recommend Suspicious Homicide to all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense!

I received a copy of this book from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.

Finnley has had the dreadful experience of finding her father dead. Uncomfortable with the suggestion of suicide, she begins to try to discover what really happened. Needing protection after being run off the road, Caine, with Honor Protection Specialists, is hired. The danger never stops - shootings, fire and more have her questioning if she ever really knew her father. What was he hiding and why does someone want her dead?

Wow - what an end to the series about Honor Protection Specialists! This is a stand alone story, so you will want to get your hands on the other three stories after you read this one. This early copy was received through Love Inspired Suspense and BookFunnel. These impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

Despite everyone, including the police, believing her father committed suicide, Finnley is determined to prove that he was murdered. When an attempt is made on her life, only Caine Honor, a bodyguard and investigator, start to see that it was truly an attempt on Finnley's life and to agree with Finnley the posibility of her father being murdered. Working together to solve her father's murder before she herself is murdered, Finnley also risks mistakenly losing her heart, again.

Come along on this high suspense adventure and see the power of Christ in action! I highly recommend this story to all who love Christian fiction, suspense, and the struggle to figure out who-done-it!

I received an ARC from the author; however, my review is my own and done of my own volition.

I've read all of the books in this series and this one does not disappoint. It is a stand-alone read so don't worry if you haven't read any of the others. This book focuses on Finnley who hires the Honor Protection Specialists after she is run off the road. She belives her father was murdered but no one else does. Caine Honor is assigned to protect her and as more and more things happen, everyone begins to believe that maybe Finnley's father was murdered after all. This book has lots of surprises, quite a few twists and turns, and enough action and suspense to keep you reading until the very intriguing end!! I received an advance copy from the author but all opinions are my own.

Elizabeth Goddard never fails to keep you turning pages and Suspicious Homicide is no different! The book begins when Finnley Wilbanks is run off a mountain road shortly after her father's death is ruled suicide! When the sheriff won't listen to Finnley that her father was murdered and her life is in danger, she hires a private protection service. Caine Honor is assigned to her case and not only protects her but helps search for clues to her father's past and, of course, falls for her! Be prepared for a startling revelation near the end! I won my copy of Suspicious Homicide in a Mary Alford contest. I recommend this book to others!

Don't Be Afraid, only Believe

I really enjoyed this book, there was action and suspense from beginning to end. Both the hero and heroine were afraid to fall in love, they both were dealing with pain from pass relationships. This story touches on murder, attempted murder, arson, and alot of secrets🤔🤔.
