He's ten years older than me. He's also my enemy. So why do I keep checking him out?
George Mason is determined to hate me. Our families owned rival businesses for years, but after my family bought out his family's land, he's never hated me - and my family - more.
But now we have to work together. We've gone from enemies to colleagues, seemingly overnight. Neither of us asked to be put in this position...but now that we're forced to work in close proximity, all I want is for us to work together peacefully. George seems to have other motives though, as he sets up traps and tricks meant to sabotage me.
I won't surrender, though. George might be an older, rugged mountain man, but I grew up in the mountains too. I'm tougher than he thinks. When I pass his tests with flying colors, he's not sure what to do with me. Until we're snowed inside a cabin together, huddled together for warmth.
Suddenly, it seems like our differences aren't such a big deal. And we have more in common than we thought.
Author Big Grumpy Mountain Man is a short and steamy standalone romance. No cliffhangers! No cheating! And a happily ever after guaranteed!
MMC/FMC- George and Miranda POV- 1st person dual Genre- Contemporary Romance Sub Genre- Mountain Man Romance Length- Novella Heat level- they do the thing and use the P word while naming the parts. Slow burn; they don’t do the deed until about 70% in. Series? Y but can be read as a standalone Safety: no cheating, no S. Violence, no OM/OW drama, no cliffhanger, HEA. Triggers- language, explicit erotic content Tropes- Enemies to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Grumpy/Sunshine, Pulling Pigtails, That’s Not My Leg What I liked- I liked Miranda. She comes from a wealthy background, but turns the Princess trope on its head. She has grit. And she works hard to prove herself, even when George is determined not to give her a chance. About George- he was harder to like because he spent the first 65% of the book being a buttonhole (the author’s word, and I love it so much that I’m adopting it). He was alternately resenting her or metaphorically pulling her pigtails because he was attracted to her. Spoiler: he did improve. What I disliked- the wanton wasting of chocolate chip cookies when she was trying to bake the perfect batch. Oh, the humanity! Verdict - this was a cute story and I enjoyed reading it.

George and Miranda's love story gives many enemies-to-lovers vibes. Ever since Miranda's family bought George's family's land, George has been salty about it. He took his anger on Miranda even though she had nothing to do with it. They quickly fall into an enemy relationship even though they are both attracted to each other. Once Miranda spends a few days working in the kitchen of George's resort, will their relationship change? Will they see that they are meant to be together? Their story is fun and sexy. You will want to be friends with Miranda and fight with George. Overall, it's a great novella if you want to read something quick, fun, and steamy.

Miranda is the youngest child and only girl in the rich and successful Wolfe family. She just finished culinary school and is now tasked to manage the kitchen at Beech Mountain Resort. George kind of holds a grudge against the Wolfe family after they both his grandfathers resort. He thinks Miranda is a spoiled princess that got the job because of nepotism. They both make their lives hard, but they are kind of attracted to each other too. A snowstorm and a leaky cabin change their relationship quite quickly 😉 Enemies to lovers , short, sweet, fun to read, romantic, steamy and safe with a sweet HEA and no drama😍😍😍😍
Miranda (h) struggles to get her family to see her culinary abilities and hopes to oversee the culinary operations at the resort her family has taken over. George (H) misplaces his anger over his grandparents selling off the family resort and takes his enmity out on Miranda. But he begins to question his actions and motives, especially when he’s forced to come to Miranda’s aide when his plans backfire. Loved that Miranda brought George and her family round to see her strengths and skills. Sweet and spicy age gap mountain man romance.
This short story was great and I absolutely loved these two. Miranda is a beautiful independent woman who has made something of herself. Even though her family has money and everyone knows her family name, she worked hard for the career she has. George is a strong stubborn mountain man, who refuses to see the amazing hard working woman Miranda is.
The author has given us a quick older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Miranda and George. The story keeps us turning the pages with misconceptions, connection and steam.

An attraction that they try to fight! This is about Miranda and George. Miranda’s family purchased out the George’s family resort, and he is not so happy about it, now that Miranda is there working the kitchen or getting it ready and teaching the crew a thing or two. Miranda is a tough cookie, especially as she is born with nothing but overprotective brothers, she can still hold her own. Now she is going there and doesn’t expect any special treatment but George puts her up in the oldest broken-down cabin because he knows she is going to demand better, but she doesn’t. He realizes his mistake when the storm comes through and now, she is out there freezing.

George wants to hate her, simply because her family has money and bought the resort that his family owned. When he actually gets to know her, the real her he finds out that she is just trying to make it on her brother see her for the things she can do and not their little sister.
