Over Exposed is the third book in Stephenie Julian’s Salon Games series that is based on a hotel that caters to any and all hedonistic pleasures. We first met our main characters-Greg Hicks and Sabrina Rodriguez in book two-No Reservation. Greg, an infamous Hollywood producer, photographer, and playboy took promotional photographs of Sabrina wearing a friend’s lingerie. Greg couldn’t believe the heat of the attraction that sparked between the two of them but he has issues that prohibited him from acting on them. In the beginning of Over Exposed, Greg is hiding out at Haven Retreat. He unhappy with the direction his life is taking and is looking for some time alone to think things through. When Sabrina shows up, he’s angry. He doesn’t need to be fighting his attraction to her on top of everything else he’s dealing with.
Sabrina works full time at the Haven Hotel. Her first real job utilizing her college degree, Sabrina wants to make a good impression on the owners-Tyler and Jared Golden. Sabrina also feels the extreme heat sparking between her and Greg but her own issues that forces her bury her libido. When she agrees to go help take care of Greg at the Retreat, she attempts to maintain a guest/employee relationship.
When a snowstorm strands Greg and Sabrina together at the Retreat, they decide to act on their passion and so begins a night of wanton abandonment in the areas of exhibitionism and voyeurism. Though the snow subsides, the passion only grows as Greg finds his creative muse in Sabrina. Writing again, Greg begins to explore options he never thought he could have because for the first time in his life, the woman in his bed is also in his heart and he wants to keep her there forever.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Julian’s Salon Games series. Emotionally plump with dynamic characters whose journey to love is littered with realistic internal and external conflicts. Enticing erotic scenes only add to the overall appeal. In No Reservation, Greg and Sabrina ignited in the small amount of time we saw them and I was looking forward to seeing their romance play out in their own story.
Over Exposed was steamy and deliciously hot on the visual scale but emotionally, but it seemed to be missing that “spark” that the first two couples had. A strong linear storyline moves us along at a steady pace, injected with various interesting subplots that take the story beyond a simple erotic based romance. Equal parts of romance, humor, and self examination on the parts of our lovers gives this story a deeper more introspective feel to it.
A perfect blending of strength and vulnerability, Sabrina was fun to meet. Strong, intelligent, funny, and practical, she has a healthy sense of self that resonates throughout the story. After watching her mother give up all her dreams to be with men who eventually left her, Sabrina chooses work over relationships. She chooses caution over abandoned.
Greg is a sexy delicious alpha who challenges and pushes Sabrina without attempting to change her. Equal parts arrogance and charm, He sees her strength and enthusiasm and it only increases his attraction for her. Greg has some issues that make relationships hard for him too. He’s workaholic whose inability to delegate is the reason his fiance cheated on him.
Sexually, these characters scorch the pages. Greg and Sabrina are well matched. Some characters just click and you can feel that between connection between them. Exquisite chemistry and thick sexual tension gets your heart pumping as these two begin on a whim and slowly emerge as much more. Ms. Julian writes some incredibly graphically sensual scenes that leave no doubt these two are compatible in this area.
His head fell back as fire spread every place her mouth pressed a kiss. She moved from his neck to his chest, where she stopped to lick at his nipples, while the hand on his cock began a slow but steady pump that made it thicken and throb.
If he let himself go, she could bring him off just like this, with her teeth sinking on to his nipple and her hair falling over her shoulders to brush against his stomach.
I loved that neither were ashamed of their sexual appetites. They had no problems telling each other what they wanted or getting down and dirty to get it. With this strong chemistry they had, I found myself honestly confused why that couldn’t flow over into the emotional aspects of their relationship. It left me seriously conflicted on whether these two could ever have it all. They have no problems speaking to others about how they feel so why not to each other? This brings me to the main problem I had with the story overall.
One problem I had that remained a constant through the story was Greg and Sabrina’s inability to communicate. This was their conflict and it was long and never ending. Neither seemed capable of saying what they were truly feeling or wanted once the relationship was established. Both characters play it extremely close to the vest emotion wise. Greg is trying, for the first time, to be the man he wants to be with Sabrina but it comes across at times callous and unfeeling because all his explanations and excuses are in his head. He’s in the middle of a movie shoot and his two main stars, one of whom he was engaged to at one time, are giving him fits. He is forced to indulge in a long distance relationship with Sabrina. He comes to Haven when he can but when they are together, it’s mainly sex with small interjections of personal information. Greg also has a habit of pushing Sabrina but not explaining his intentions behind them. While Sabrina understands he’s extremely busy, jealousy rears it’s ugly head time and time again. This proves extra hard on Sabrina as she is already unsure of her and Greg due to his fame, past exploits concerning women, and her employee position. She never says anything about how she feels to him and keeps a small part of herself from him throughout most of the book.
“And what happens when he doesn’t consider you his anymore?” Because you know it’ll happen. You know he’s not going to always want you.”
Complex and beguiling characters filled the story, each more than able to hold their own. We see some old friends and long with a few new ones who I do hope we see more of in the future. I liked that Sabrina her own life and her own set of friends that isn’t dependent or a result of her relationship with Greg. A new introduction-Sebastian-proves to not only be a good friend to Sabrina, but a strong shoulder for her to lean on when her doubts get to be too much. His back story looks to be interesting and I do hope we see him in his own book. Kate and Annabelle are both in here and have Sabrina’s back one hundred percent. There was a small issue concerning Kate that bothered me. Those who read book two know what I’m talking about. I think it elephant in the room should have been addressed far earlier than it was.
I did feel that the ending came quickly and abruptly without any real resolution to their problems. I was also disappointed that the “salon” didn’t play a more pivotal role as it did with the first two books. Regardless of my issues, this erotic more than lights a few fires and I look forward to more forbidden delights from the Salon and Ms. Julian.

My Rating: B+ Liked It A Lot Review originally posted at That's What I'm Talking About Review copy provided by publisher
Greg Hicks, famous Hollywood producer, is back in the Philadelphia area to finish writing a screen play. He’s staying at his friend, Tyler Golden’s not-yet-opened retreat, where Sabrina “Bree” Rodriquez is also working for the Goldens. Bree and Greg met briefly (in the previous book, No Reservations) when he photographed her as a favor to Tyler’s fiancee, Kate. With the heavy weight of an undeniable mutual attraction hanging over the pair, they must decide if giving into their lust is worth the potential head and heart aches that will certainly follow.
I am a huge fan of Ms. Julian’s Salon Games series. The first two titles are emotionally gripping, full of interesting characters and sizzling romance, and thankfully, Over Exposed is no exception. I was immediately drawn into Bree and Greg’s story. Ms. Julian creates an air of desire that is so powerful, I could feel it deep in my own being. The story, while full of sensual scenes, is driven by the character’s emotions, both positive and negative. Finding their way through the onslaught of desire, fear, and doubt kept me reading late into the night.
I genuinely like and care about the characters. It was easy to get wrapped up in the emotions of both Sabrina and Greg; they have undeniable chemistry that translates into an engrossing read. I was left hanging on every thought and encounter, hoping and waiting for the pair to find their way to a happily-ever-after. However, there is a lot of second guessing on the part of both characters. Overall, it didn’t bother me and fit into the story, but towards the end, I wanted more confidence, especially on the part of Sabrina. I felt like for most of the story she never really wanted to give Greg a chance because she was convinced he would leave her.
Side characters, such as Sabrina’s new friend, Sabastian, and Greg’s ex, Daisy, add some stress to the couple’s situation, but the conflicts did not come across contrived. I found that both characters added a lot to the tale without overwhelming the already tenuous relationship. In addition, Greg’s work schedule and career add an appropriate amount of non-sexual tension.
While I really enjoyed Over Exposed, there was a definite lack of visits to The Salon, making this the least erotic book of the series. I did find the pair’s romantic encounters extremely well written and swoon-worthy; however, this story does not live up to the eroticism of the first two books.
Also, I was disappointed with how quickly the story ended. While I was happy with the direction of the conclusion, I was not satisfied with the execution. I felt the h/h were cheated out of a really good and necessary conversion, which I had anticipated throughout the story. Instead, things just sort of fell into place, and the characters each made decisions about their mutual future independently and without dialogue. Unfortunately, his left me feeling a little bit unsatisfied after finishing the book.
Despite the way the story ended, I still enjoyed Over Exposed quite a lot. I came to care about Greg and Sabrina and the direction of their relationship. I found that even after the book was over, I was still thinking about the pair and wondering how things are working out for the couple. I look forward to catching glimpses of Greg and Sabrina in future installments of the Salon Games.

OVER EXPOSED is the third book in Stephanie Julian’s excellent Salon Games series, with a hero and heroine who were both supporting characters in the previous book, NO RESERVATIONS. Greg Hicks is the best friend of Tyler Golden, co-owner of Haven, and the man chosen to join him and his beloved Kate in that hotel’s infamous Salon for their own private sexual games. Sabrina Rodriquez is both friend and employee of Tyler and Kate, using her brains and will to succeed, vowing never to blindly trust any man in the same way her mother always had . When our hero and heroine first met each other in NO RESERVATIONS, the sexual chemistry was instant and obvious to all. But it wasn’t until Greg retreated to Haven for some quiet time to finish his latest screenplay that Tyler and Kate were able to put Sabrina back in his path, with the not-so-subtle expectation that something more would come of it. Yet even as Greg and Sabrina succumb to their shared desire, neither one is certain that what they have found can survive once the storm that’s trapped them together has ended.
What I love about Stephanie Julian’s books is how she can keep me on the edge of my seat without resorting to easy ploys like evil ex-girlfriends or a madman on the loose. Greg and Sabrina already have enough obstacles to overcome after they finally act upon their sexual attraction that any additional fabrications for the sake of drama would be annoying. As the two of them move closer toward their HEA, there are multiple conflicts, both large and small, that they need to confront, not the least of which is Greg’s inevitable departure back to Hollywood and his all-consuming career there. But with each instance, they learn to trust each other more, so that by the time Sabrina and Greg enjoy their own Salon encounter, their romantic journey has reached its natural completion. Their realistic give and take as they become more adept at each other’s wants and desires are the best part of OVER EXPOSED and why it’s yet another solid entry in the Salon Games series.
Over Exposed by Stephanie Julian is the third book in the Salon Games series which is fun, exciting and passionate. This contemporary adult romance is set in Hollywood with two adorable characters as the main protagonists. Greg Hicks is a powerful player while Sabrina Rodriquez with stars in her eyes is dreaming of making it big, but keeps her composure and dignity, and not to make the same mistake as her unlucky mother once did.
But can things go according to one’s dream in a big bad cut-throat world? For Greg, life has come full circle. He was once struggling too. Sheer devotion and perseverance took him to the pinnacle. He is one of the most admired and successful writers and directors in Hollywood. Yet, when he got it all it seems so empty. There seems to be no meaning and purpose in what he is doing. The magic has totally gone. But when Greg and Sabrina ran into each other, it changes everything. The story is beautifully written and the characters well-developed. However, the author appears to have paid less attention in developing the relationship between the two main protagonists, yet, it is still a fun read and fans of Stephanie Julian will find great delight in this new book.
Stephanie Julians Salon Games series is one of my favorites. This happens to be my favorite of the series so far. I wanted things to work out for Greg from the very begining. He was torn and I love how he just went to Sabrina after he couldn't stay away from her anymore. Sabrina what an amazing woman who could br so young but have such an signify maturity to herself. She wasn't clingy she tried to understand situations she found Greg in without jumping to conculsions. It was a great book wish it was a little longer maybe have more time devoted towards them as a couple at the end but if their is another book coming out in the series then I'm sure we will hear more about them in the coming books.
I have to say I was scared to read this book because I was not crazy for Greg ... partly because of how he acts and what happens with Ty and Kate. I did not understand but everyone has their kinks :)
After reading this book I went back and change my rating for the previous two books !!!
This book took me by surprise!!!
It had all the hot fun sexy kinks without too much , and the best part of it for me how possessive Greg was ( no touching just look) it was hot ;)
I have to say this has been my favorite book so far in this series. Greg is such an alpha male all the way to sticking his foot in his mouth constantly. Sabrina is young and inexperienced, but totally suited for Greg. I laughed out loud so many times reading this and also cried a couple of times. Stephanie Julian writes characters that become a part of you while reading her books. I can't wait for Baz's book.
SMOKING HOT! I consume this series as quickly as Ms. Julian publishes them. The only thing I want more than the next one is a personal invitation to The Salon with each and every BBF from the series.
This was a huge disappointment. Where books #1 and #2 focussed on the Salon and its games, and dealt with some pretty steamy subject matter, this one fell short. Greg is supposed to be some kind of hedonist, but by 80% they're still having vanilla sex.
I really disliked how Sabrina's best friend, Kate, kept brushing off her concerns. When Sabrina tells Kate that Greg wants her to quit her job and follow him to LA, Kate encourages her! Pushes her to do whatever Greg wants with very little return other than sex. When Sabrina tells Kate she feels like a beck-and-call girl, Kate insists Greg isn't like that. (Um, yeah. He is literally doing that.)
Which was the biggest problem with this book. Sabrina continually talks about how Greg never lets her into his thoughts, into his feelings but keeps letting him get away with it. They seriously NEVER talk about their problems. He's 13 years older than her: does he want children? When? Does she, having raised her seven younger siblings?
Then Greg has the audacity to inner monologue that she never lets him in! Almost in the same breath that he's thinking that he can't share all his plans with her. Like, what the fuck is that?
Why did he have his arm around Amanada when she was coming on to him? Why can't he fucking talk to Sabrina? Baz kisses her and he does ... nothing except grow (more) distant?
Most of the book felt like the author was setting up for some intense conversation (Greg and Sabrina, Sabrina and Kate) and then backing down at the last second, instead resorting to tortured inner monologues. So many things setup with no payoff. Julian usually leaves me frustrated, but this time it's not the good kind.

I really liked this one! After a reading slump, this really brought me out of it. It’s a simple story, Greg & Sabrina meet in Book 2, then reunite months later at the Haven Spa. Then, later, we’re back at Haven. Greg is a producer/director who comes back to Philly to shoot a movie & to see if he & Sabrina still have that chemistry.
They have chemistry in droves.
At times you’ll be yelling at Sabrina to get over it, but that’s because you actually like the characters. You want good things for them.
For 3/4 of this book it was not bad and even though I wasn’t completely into it it was good enough and interesting enough for four stars. Then it got freaky and weird. I have read many on the edge romance books so I’m not a prude but the threesomes and having someone watch you and the one you love being intimate is too much. I’m not knocking it for other people it’s just not what I want to read about. Hence my review of three stars.
This story was full of twists and turns with an array interest diverse characters. I would highly recommend this book for everyone who enjoys seeing all of the threads come together to form a great HEA.
This story had the basic hard working woman falls for irresistible producer ideals. It just didn't keep the interest going very well. There is only one part I truly was surprised by a turn of events. Plus there is a lot of swearing.
Sabrina has been dreaming about Greg for six months now he is back . Actually he has been obsessing over her for the last six months. Since they live and work 3000 miles apart, can they have a relationship?
I highly recommend this book Strong characters good back story The ending I felt was a little rushed it kinda just stopped But overall good read. 4 stars
Got bored not even twenty percent into the book like we get it you’re both into each other and it’s instant lust but can we skip the repetitive descriptions of how hot they think the other is.

My Thoughts
It's clearly been a long time since i've been in this series and i'm so glad that i finally came back to it. I didn't realize that there were more books, but now that i know that there's still another, i'm super excited.
In this third installment to the series, we meet Sabrina and Greg. Greg is best friends with Tyler and Jared, the gentlemen that we met in the first books and the owners of Haven. Sabrina ironically is best friends with Annabelle and Kate who are engaged/married to Jared and Tyler. So it's a nice little circle right?
In this story, we find Greg at the Haven retreat where he's trying to finish a screenplay for his first directorial job in a decade. It's stressful for him and he's kind of burnt out from all that's gone on in Hollywood. Sabrina works for Haven after being lucky enough to get an internship etc care of Kate and Tyler (sort of) and she's been asked to head out to the retreat to look after Greg since he's a bit of a mess.
If only it were that easy right? Mind you the thing you learn quickly on is that they crossed paths a few years ago while Bree was modeling Kate's lingerie and Greg was the photographer. There was instant chemistry and attraction but i gathered that Greg pushed her away. So the question from the first moment they come together in this book is how long is it going to take for them to realize that there's something amazing there and what will it take to make it happen.
Throughout this installment, we see Sabrina coming to terms with how great she is professionally while also coming to terms with what she is or could be to Greg and what that would ultimately mean since his life is so much different than hers and across the country. At the same time we see Greg fighting with his inner self since it's not just Sabrina at stake here, his life is in the process of turning upside down not just with the hopeful success of this film but the fact that his business is getting dicey because of what his partner wants to see in terms of expansion.
True to what i recall from the first two books, we get some incredibly hot scening. The salon is a place where we get to live out our deepest fantasies and that's what happens here. Things that we knew that Greg enjoyed come to play and we see how Sabrina didn't even know that it was something that she would thrive on.
If all that weren't hot enough enter Sebastian, a rocker who's trying to get his head back on straight and comes to stay at the hotel. Sabrina strikes up a friendship that clearly is more than a friendship from one side (gotta love those love triangles) and it's interesting to see how that plays out since jealousy seems to be a big thing here.
So all in all, lots of moving parts and lots of great stuff to keep this installment moving .
A snowstorm isn’t enough to cool things down in Over Exposed! Stephanie Julian’s third Salon Games novel is fast-paced, sexy good fun. Greg and Sabrina are both easy to like protagonists. Greg has worked hard to get where he is in a cutthroat industry, but he’s burning out and needs to recapture some of the joy he found in writing and directing. Getting away from Hollywood and into Sabrina’s arms helps him find the passion he’d lost…and of course a lot more than he bargained for. Sabrina’s a breath of fresh air for Greg. She’s young and determined to succeed in the hospitality industry, but like Greg ambition isn’t the sole motivational factor in her life. The sparks that fly between them are hot enough to burn, and there’s no way Greg can resist the temptation Sabrina presents.
Greg and Sabrina are a great fit at the start, but where Over Exposed faltered was in the development of their relationship. There are quite a few ups and downs in Greg and Sabrina’s story, but almost all of them come from the fact that they simply don’t talk to each other. I honestly finished this story feeling a bit doubtful that their relationship would last because it almost seemed like it wouldn’t until the very end. While this wouldn’t have bothered me if Over Exposed were straight erotica, since it’s an erotic romance I expected a bit more of Greg and Sabrina as a couple than simple between the sheets sexiness.
Issues aside, I did enjoy Over Exposed. There’s great sexual tension between Sabrina and Greg and they had a lot of potential as a couple. The heroes and heroines from the first two Salon Games books (By Private Invitation and No Reservations) played supporting roles in Over Exposed and I liked them all enough to want to read their books. It’d be remiss of me not to also mention a new Salon Games character: Sebastian Valenti, a musician with serious sex appeal. If Ms. Julian writes a book for him I’ll be first in line to buy it. So while I felt Over Exposed didn’t seem to reach its full potential, I still liked Greg and Sabrina’s story overall and I’m looking forward visiting the infamous Salon again.
Note: I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The first thought that came to mind when I finished with Over Exposed was, meh…kind of boring. I hate saying that about book but I just had a hard time really getting into the story, connecting with the characters and I admit, it ended up being a skimmer.
Greg and Sabrina made an unlikely couple in my mind and that was helped by their age difference. Normally I could care less about any age different if it’s done right, but here, I found their 13 year age difference to be a lot considering the heroine is 23, it just seemed way too young in comparison to Greg. This along with their relationship in general didn’t cause me to buy in to the idea that Greg and Sabrina would be a match. There’s not much more than just sex, sex and more sex that make up the basis of their relationship . It lacked overall depth and I can’t imagine them being happy for the long run outside the bedroom. I needed more, period. I needed to see their connection out of bed, and understand why this couple works and that was missing for me here.
I found myself more intrigued with Greg’s assistant who takes organization and being on top of things to a whole new level and the rock band members who show up at the resort, Sebastian and Nikky. It’s Sebastian who becomes good friends with Sabrina. I’m curious to know about him as well as Greg’s assistant Trudeau and hope that something might be in the works for them for their books in the future. But this reminds me, while Sabrina might not have felt uncomfortable during one exhibition scene, I sure was when Greg allowed Sebastian to watch him and Sabrina having sex. This is an erotic story, I get it, stuff like that is par for the course but it didn’t seem sexy to me, just out of place and weird.
Needless to say, Over Exposed wasn’t a big hit for me. It had some interesting moments, but the romance between Greg and Sabrina never made sense for me, I needed to know why this couple was going to be able to make it work for the future and all I got was plenty of sex between them and not much else.
With this series, this title is my favorite so far. The hero (Greg), I really loved the dialogue he had going on in his mind. Parts of the book it was funny as heck reading what was going on in his mind. Sabrina's character was ok. I could take her or leave her. I did love Sebastian's character. Hope we see more of him.
What I didn't like about this story happened near the last few chapters. Given the other two books in this series I felt the author let us down given the subject matter and setting of the other two books. The two main characters being in the Salon at the end of the book, well it just wasn't there. Felt the ending was rushed, the ending of the book needed more description and emotion. If this had been there I would have rated this a with five stars. Really is to bad because it was a good story until the end, it just sort of fizzled out.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This series kind of dropped off for me. I liked Greg better as a side character in the previous book and felt that Sabrina lost the bite that made her fun. Also there was lots of "throbbing member" mentions and "inner caveman" appearances, which gets old quick. I did like Sebastian and like the fact that Julian always teases future book's protagonists in current books; it's definitely an enticing way of keeping a reader hooked. I think I'll read the others eventually, after a break. I definitely recommend the first two though!
