🎧🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧🎧
I picked up a few audiobooks via Booksprout in the last couple of weeks, and Kira Cole happens to be one of the authors in the mix. This story is the second I’ve listened to by Kira, and unfortunately, I’m still not convinced me, and Kira would make a good author/reader pair. I don’t know who does the editing and beta reading for this author, but they aren’t doing her any favors. I’ll still try to connect with Kira’s work when the opportunity arises and I have the time, but my time is limited so we’ll see.
I’m still not a huge fan of the narrators of the story, Serena Moon and Ryder Wolfe, but I don’t give up easily so again, we shall see.
I liked the idea of this story but the plot fell short at almost every turn. It’s underdeveloped in many places, and it honestly makes no sense in a lot more. I’m giving the story an overall rating of 2 stars because I finished it and it was not not an okay listen. I’m looking forward to maybe one day raising the bar from not not okay to at least okay or maybe even good when it comes to a Kira Cole story.

Secret Mafia Daddy gets all the New Year’s stars. Wise guy Angelo never saw it coming when he fell for Caterina. Secret baby, great reveal. Plenty of spicy encounters. Not sure I could describe a mafia romance as cute, funny and heartfelt but that is how the relationship develops, complete with possessive bad boy feels.

One night with Angelo Bianchi leaves Catarina De Luca pregnant. Three years later she witnesses Angelo murdering a man, he knows nothing about their daughter but he gives her an ultimatum marry him or she will meet her maker. She marries Angelo but he quickly realizes he has a daughter, he is furious with Catarina but as he gets to know more about Catarina the more he is drawn to the idea of having a real marriage. Can Catarina trust him enough to give him her heart.
This was a mix for me. The story jumped a bit and I had a few questions at parts of the story that were important to the plot. Angelo was a wreck before he got together with Catarina, but I thought they did have good chemistry. It was a flow of the story issue for me, great idea and concept though. Would try another book by this author.

Great story!!
This is a well written story which is action packed, and emotionally charged, with family, friendships, humour, witty banter, challenges, intrigue, suspense, danger, loyalty, and love which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, twisted, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

He's like wicked mad that a one night stand he didn't leave his number for didn't track him down when she found out she was pregnant? He wasn't even from New York... Like sure, she had his name, but in New York that's like finding a needle in a haystack. So his anger at her really pissed me off, to be honest. It wasn't rational. I also thought it was annoying that he instantly had so much control over this toddler without consideration for Cat; like he was totally okay with dropping Chelsea off with his friends who Chelsea doesn't know. Like sure, he knows they're safe people but like from the kids POV she just got dropped off with strangers.
But also, Chelsea isn't wary of Angelo at all. I mean, I guess some kids that young aren't always wary of strangers holding them etc, but I think it would have been so much more interesting if he had to earn his daughter's trust and was really sweet about it.
I'm like 70 pages in, but where's the actual plot? She watches Angelo slaughter someone in cold blood and not once afterwards does she seem to think about it again. Doesn't ask who the guy was etc. In all fairness, she doesn't even know he's in the mafia. Like, he could have been a damn one night stand who is actually a serial killer. But the same night he forces her to marry him it just doesn't cross her mind again? Like he's effectively kidnapping she and her daughter and even if it IS his daughter too, she knows very little about him other than he'd killed a man. But she just is totally okay with him being around her daughter. And he's forcing her to marry him so that she can't testify but then they're both talking/thinking about divorce already?? It's just weird.
For 33% there's been little to no actual mafia stuff. Disappointing when the premise held so much promise.

Trust me on this. Once again,the characters INCESSANT,OFT REPEATED INNER THOUGHTS ruined what could have been a decent book. Angelo was constantly thinking the marriage would not be real,she was CONSTANTLY thinking of escape. Her EVERY THOUGHT was "when I flee and relocate somewhere else " I had high hopes for this book (like a moron) because unlike Nico or Dante,Angelo seemed to want a family. Then he got one,and was just trying to figure out how he could have his kid without her mom. I can't do it anymore. These books are too circuitous -- the plots revolve around the characters thinking these thoughts AD NAUSEUM for 160+ pages. Literally no plot progress,character development, spice and only a little humor. Just a complete total boring bunch of whining over seemingly endless chapters. Apparently when I DNF book 2,I missed Nico getting injured,and reading others' reviews tells me I'm missing an abduction,but I truly do not care. I liked Chelsea and Alessia's little friendship,because it was freaking adorable,but the rest of the book was trash. My thoughts only. Feel free to read and form your own. But don't say you weren't warned

This mafia story of a found papa was ok. It wasn't bad at all though, just too insta. & It felt rushed and repetitive, could of used more creativity. It was a quick read though & the smut was good too.

Secret Mafia Daddy : A Forced Marriage Romance. This is the 3rd book of The Alpha Mafia Daddies Series. This is Angelo Bianchi and Catarina DeLuca's story. Angelo is a mafia enforcer who does jobs for Dante Ricci. Angelo is a playboy who enjoys a one night stand and never remembers the women's name. Angelo and Catarina enjoyed a steamy night together, then went their separate ways. Like he always does. Sometime later Catarina finds out she is expecting, goes to different clubs in New York City trying to find Angelo. They meet again a few years later in a club when out with her friend, but Angelo doesn't remember her. He thinks that there is something about her eyes though. Catarina remembers Angelo and tries to keep away from him. Claudio Abato stole from Danti Ricci and this is the job that Angelo is on. He is tracking Claudio and follows him into an alley where Angelo takes care of business. Angelo happens to see Catarina and she was a witness. He forces her to marry him so she can't testify. Her stepfather is Alonzo DeLuca and this is where her and her three year old daughter live. Catarina has wanted out of the mafia life for a long time. This will give Catarina and her daughter a chance to leave her stepfathers life and move to Chicago. Angelo and Catarina go to get her daughter Chelsea. This is the first time Angelo has seen Chelsea and she looks like him. Wonder what Angelo will think or say ? His two best friends Dante and Nico each have a wife and child. Angelo is the only single one. Angelo has missed out on a lot. This book will have you glued to the pages. All of the characters were wonderful. Kira is such a talented writer. Keep them coming.

I loved this book. I’ve read more by Kira, and she always creates such great characters, you can see what drives them, what’s important to them. Part of the Alpha Mafia Daddies series, in Secret Mafia Daddy, Angelo is a playboy who never remembers his one night stands names and a mafia enforcer, and Catarina, is a single mom who had a one night stand with Angelo and has deep seated trust issues. They meet again years later, in the same club they originally met and Angelo does not remember Cat, which seriously pisses her off. Angelo is in NYC for ‘work’, after a few weeks he finally gets his man but Cat is a witness. Cat is forced to marry Angelo so that she cannot testify against him, but when he meets her daughter he remembers Cat.
While the series follows a similar theme, over protective, possessive, touch her and die men, suddenly becoming Daddies. Kira writes fabulous characters, the heat and emotional connections between them is amazing and sets the pages on fire, whether they’re fighting or NSFW words.
Angelo is an amazing Dad though, and Cat finds herself falling for him even though she doesn’t want to. I love how Angelo’s family just love and accept Cat and Chelsea, so that they can feel like they have a family and home. It’s a hot sexy read with some twist and suspense to keep you on edge, can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Part of the Alpha Mafia Daddies series each can be read as standalone with an overprotective daddy and the girl who captures his undivided attention in the worse way …..maybe 😊 so hang on and double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Catarina was in the wrong place at the wrong time when she saw something she was supposed to see that would have ended her life as she saw a hitman take care of a job and the rule is no witnesses. Angelo sexy as all get out hitman takes jobs as they come one of the best out there, deadly every day, until one evening he is doing a job, and it is witnessed by a woman an innocent he can’t bring himself to kill her even thought he knows the rules, so he kidnaps her. The plan is to marry her so she can never testify against him if ever asked and she just wanted to get always from her family what better way than to marry a hitman but does things workout as planned for the both of them, will she get away from her family as planned, does she keep the fact that he is a hitman, and is happiness meant for them?

This was my first from this author but I liked the premise. I didn't much care for the characters, though. Catarina has an [unprotected] one night stand with a guy and it was so great she thinks she's fallen for him. Cut to three years later and she no longer does casual hookups because she gets attached and the last time got her pregnant (big shocker). Angelo drinks and sleeps around so much he sometimes doesn't even remember the women he's been with. He doesn't remember Cat, but her eyes are so familiar. She's upset when he approaches her and clearly doesn't remember her, so she denies ever meeting him before. Her also going out with a friend to drink and have fun while someone else looks after her daughter seems irresponsible. I just didn't care for them. I liked the forced marriage that happens, and Angelo realizing he has a daughter. I also liked how he was with his daughter.
I listened to this audiobook narrated by Ryder Wolfe and Serena Moon. Both were good and their voices suited their individual characters. I just wish each narrator voiced all the male and female lines instead of each one narrating the entire chapter regardless of who's speaking.

Excellent story! Angelo and Catarina had a night of unprotected sex several years ago, a one night stand so to speak. Move to the present, and Angelo is a mafia prince. He is estranged from his father. Catarina is a mafia princess, raised by her step-father. She wants to get out of the life style, and take her daughter someplace safer. Catarina is a witness to Angelo committing murder. It is either marry Angelo, as spouses can’t testify against each other, or be killed Witnesses are not allowed to live. She opts for the marriage, and plans to disappear as soon as she safely can. The first time Angelo sees Caterina’s daughter, he remembers their one night, and knows that the child is his daughter. Saying he is mad is an understatement, how dare she not tell him he is a father! Turns out he makes a good daddy. A lot of drama, emotional angst, kidnapping, and subterfuge happen. While all this is happening, Angelo and Catarina realize they fell for each other.
It was a good story, and well written. I really liked Angelo. The narration was well done, and a pleasure to listen to. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Good till the end
Review does contain some spoilers but necessary to get understanding of stars across. I say good till the end because the female leads whole purpose throughout the whole book was that her daughter would not grow up in the life she had with the danger surrounding her in the mafia world. She loved her papa and knew her papa loved and protected her but still knew of all the threats.
She has an unconventional marriage because of something she's seen to the father of her daughter but still plans to eventually leave mafia life behind at all cost so her daughter can live in safety. Even though her daughter's father is a great father and supposedly can keep them safe from the dangers of the mafia world.
Biggest fears come to life. She and her daughter get kidnapped. Her 3 year old daughter is severely traumatized. They are rescued. She forgets keeping her daughter safe cause husband says he loves her. Really?
Author does have a good writing style and her character development is great to a point but then everything the female lead stands for is thrown away so I don't get the point of giving her those standards.

This was a entertaining read from start to finish! The characters have great chem and the plot was interesting and had some steamy moments.
The world she came from was dangerous and she didn't want that for herself or for her daughter. She would never regret having her little girl but the father she could do without. Go figure she keeps seeing him and then sees something she shouldn't have.
I don't do manwhores. End of story. And I get that she needs a break once in a while. But maybe stay in and read and drink if you want to. Because you have a child now and no you don't get to go destress yourself at a club. What's the point when you want out of that lifestyle? She went looking for trouble and trouble found her so no sympathies from me. The chemistry they share is fantastic and how he is with his girl is great and he should have known about her. I'm glad they are all together and happy now even through it started out so badly for them.

Angelo is a mafia enforcer who works for Dante Ricci. He likes being single and one night stands are really his forte. He enjoys the companionship of a woman, but doesn't really want to bring one into his life or change his lifestyle. Angelo and Catarina meet, have a one night stand and go on their own ways. Catarina finds out a short time later that she is pregnant, but when she goes through all the clubs, she can never find Angelo again. A few years later, she is out with a friend and bumps into Angelo again. He doesn't remember her, but does find her familiar. Angelo is at that club to take care of some mafia business and Catarina witnesses what happens. He forces her to marry him so that she cannot be forced to testify against him. When Angelo comes to collect Catarina and her daughter, Chelsea, will he realize how much the little girl looks like him? Will the fact he's now a father change anything?
This is a book filled with intense characters and stories. It's not super angsty, but there is lots of action and intense situations.

Angelo Bianchi and Catarina have a one-night stand and Angelo being the man w*ore he is, does not remember her when they run into each other a few years later. Once he does remember who she is, he knows that he wants her. But when she runs away from him and then watches as he kills someone, she has no other choice but to marry him to stay safe. It is the only way.
There is a lot of back and forth between Angelo and Catarina – they are both selfish people, except when it comes to their daughter. When Angelo finds out that he does in fact has a daughter, he is very mad at Catarina and refuses to be without his daughter again. Angelo is a good father and he is trying with Catarina, but Catarina just wants out of the life and wants to be able to give her daughter a safer life. It is very hard for Catarina to accept Angelo for who he is, regardless of the fact he never gives up on her. Not a fan of Catarina, but Angelo got me the moment he met his daughter and connected with her.

Je pense que ce qui me gosse c'est que legit, les caractéristiques des mcs dans tous les livres sont similaires (voir pareil) . La FMC qui a peu d'expérience sexuelle, qui est en ''amour'' avec un mmc qui est un manwhore et qui ne veut pas de relations/qui tente de se convaincre qu'il n'est pas en amour avec la FMC. La best friend de la FMC qui est semi présente/qui avance fuck all le plot point.
Le style de l'écrivaine aussi est répétitif. I mean elle doit nous dire au moins dans 1 chapitre sur 2 les mêmes pensées des personnages principaux (qui font pas toujours sens mind you). Et les livres font seulement 275-2003pages et malgré tout je trouve ça long. Tout ce qui est mafia est peu présent et dans les clichés. Bref, le dernier livre de la série est celui que je voulais lire, même pu sur que ca me tente...
(la suggestion vient d'une instagram add, comme la dernière série que j'ai lu que j'ai aussi peu appréciée. I guess que c'est pas parce que tu peux publier un livre de façon indépendant sur amazon que ca veut dire que tu devrais le faire .... )

Angelo's and Catarina's story is Book 3 in the Alpha Mafia Daddies series. This is a standalone but even more enjoyable if you've read the first two books in this series. Both couples from the first two books have their place in this story as they are a part of the same Mafia familgia.
I really enjoyed reading Secret Mafia Daddy...there's action and drama and even some twists and turns. Angelo realizes that he wants from Dante and Nico has but still not sure if he's really ready to settle down. He wrestles with his feelings for Catarina but eventually comes to terms with the inevitable. One thing he does know is that he's never loved anyone as much as he loves Chelsea, his daughter.
This will definitely have you glued to the pages if you're a fan of romance with a bit of steam, faced marriage, one night stand, secret baby and mafia tropes.

“I can’t risk my heart. Not to a man like Angelo.”
Mafia-lite. That’s the best way to describe this book. Despite Angelo being a non-labeled enforcer and a couple of descriptive killings, this is in no way dark. I liked Angelo even if he was indecisive and kind of a stereotypical womanizer at the beginning. I enjoyed watching him so clueless as he fell in love and thought his interactions with little Chelsea were adorable, especially picturing him in a tiara drinking imaginary tea. Catarina was a bit annoying, so ridiculously stubborn about a lifestyle she grew up with and clearly benefited from, and she was in many ways very selfish as well. Still, the story was fun and I enjoyed it, except for the completely ridiculous and unbelievably contrived ending that was so unworthy of the rest of the book I almost gave it only three stars. No spoilers and they get their HEA but it was a pretty disappointing end to an entertaining story.

Wow, this book was definitely exciting the way the story was written, it had me hooked from the start and the characters were captivating. This story was about Angelo Bianchi and Catarina, Cat was in the wrong place at the wrong time when she witness a murder, she thought her life was ending. Angelo is a hitman and was out doing a job when he heard a noise he was surprised to see a female, he knows the rules no witness's to be left alive and he couldn't kill her. He kept her hoping to marry her only in name so she can't testify against him. All Cat wanted to do was escape from her family, what she didn't expect was feelings for each other chemistry between them was hot and steamy.

It was actually quite good until around 85%.
Which was the abduction, or more like the rescue of the abduction, after that things were so off that I felt a bit uncomfortable reading this.
I feel like the author just wanted to throw those details/ events in to have some sort of climax, which definitely wasn’t climactic enough, to the book and to end it quickly so that we could reach their HEA.
Now listen, I am 100% an HEA kind of gal but this ain’t it. I want to see some relationship and character developments, some progress, some works, not this, not some half-done solutions, in which most of the solving parts weren’t even mentioned off page. Idk it was a mess, all on the surface and I couldn’t really connect to a thing.
Such a shame. But the cover was so pretty tho, so extra point lol.

This was NOT a good book. It started ok, but the text was very "tell me" not "show me." Then it got worse. Cat fell into the category of too stupid to live and I ended up rooting for the enemies to get her MULTIPLE times! Arrghhh, she was THE. WORST! Not that Angelo was a prize, but he was clear the entire time.
The story goes lightening fast and then decides to have a quick SUPER low-stakes moment (that's really all it was. If you skipped a page you would have missed the "action") and then a ridiculous back and forth about love and if it could be believed. As soon as that is done, it LITERALLY happens again. Like, 2 more times we have to read Cat stressing over if she's loved. Ughhhh, girl! It would take a saint to marry you at this point.
I generally don't like to leave bad reviews, but this one was too much.

Secret Mafia Daddy by Kira Cole is my first read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. This novel is well-written, emotional, hot, and will keep you on the edge of your seat! It is filled with bad guys, good guys, sizzling scenes between Angelo and Catarina, and feelings that morph from anger and hatred to love and trust. I was easily captivated by the premise of their story, a forced Mafia marriage, and fell in love with the wonderful characters that were part of their lives. From Angelo, his father, Dante, and Nico to Alonzo (whose obvious love and acceptance of Catarina as his own touched me as deeply as Angelo’s discovery of his love for Chelsea and Catarina), Ms. Cole knows how to pack a romance with alpha males you want in your life! I have found a new favorite author!!

I very much enjoyed this Kira Cole book based on the Mafia.
This was about Caterina who had a child from a one night stand, but three years later the Daddy, Angelo Bianchi shows up.
The chemistry between Caterina and Angelo really was strong even though both had so many misgivings about the relationship and the Mafia life. But they worked through it.
Kira gives us another wonderful story that is dangerous, dramatic and emotional at times, not to mention the intensity between both characters. I also enjoyed the relationship with little Chelsea and Angelo as it bought out his softness. Highly recommended story!!.

She keeps popping up while he is working, and the sparks fly everywhere each time. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their smart and sassy sweet 3 year old daughter is a show stealer. As they navigate their tumultuous relationship while denying their true feelings, we get to experience their drama, angst, heartache, joy, and so much more. This novel is a fabulous addition to the mafia daddies series. I can’t wait to see who the author focuses on next!.

This was a pretty good mafia romance. Several years ago, Cat has a one-night stand with Angelo and ends up getting pregnant. A few years later, they reconnect at a club where she sees him murder someone. At first, he could not remember where he met her, being the manwh@re that he is. He decides that as his wife, she cannot testify against him so he takes her. He finds out she has a child and when he sees the child, he realizes she is his child and he is not happy because he missed the first three years of her life. Angelo wants to be in his daughter's life and turns out to be such a loving father. This turned out to be a good book about how they made it work after getting married and becoming a ready-made family in his world even though Cat did something really stupid and gets kidnapped.
