Crash landing on a distant alien world had left Nyota dazed, confused, and more than a little bewildered— all of which was currently being massively amplified by the revelation she was not only an alien abductee, which sucked to no end, but was now unexpectedly a wanted fugitive from brutal Raxxian captivity.
Hunted, on the run, and very much out of her element, Nyota was grateful she at least had one thing going for her. A muscular hunk of an alien watching over her.
The pair had been thrown together by chaos and chance, a human and a Nimenni warrior. Not the usual sort of partnership either of them would have expected. But circumstances has tested fate, and as a result the alien commando was honor-bound to protect his human companion.
Facing a vast and exotic wilderness, marauding alien brutes, and all on a planet far, far from home, Nyota was in for the adventure of her life. And if she was lucky, perhaps a little something more than just protection from her deliciously manly companion.
This book should be called how to R word an Alien cuz girl wtf?! Nyota ma’am. No means no. That man said no so many times and all he was told was “your mouth says no but your body says yes” girl ppl go to jail for that!!!
All I’m saying is he was never actually interested, attracted or anything other than annoyed by her until she screwed up the marking ceremony by doing what? Forcing herself on him when he said no.
I dunno it’s rough reading the green flag alien series and the female lead is a literal red flag 😭 She was kinda whiny and annoying from the beginning but I dunno her trying to guilt trip him into doing what she wanted after she forced herself on him… she never should’ve gotten Runes, the Raxxians should’ve had an appetizer instead.
Let just pretend this book wasn’t part of the series 😌

Gleeful Goblin Review: I thought the way that this story unfolds was pretty interesting because the reader learns about most things from the perspective of the FMC having lost her recent memories and early on is having to be told what's happened so far by MMC for them to be alone together on the planet. Now, something I do want to address kind of upfront is that when things start to spark between the two MCs that the FMC is not good at consent or respecting boundaries on multiple occasions. There's attraction between the two and obviously because of the genre we know they'll eventually get together. But that being said, I feel like she doesn't respect his boundaries and his no which made me uncomfortable because it comes across in a similar way to scenes where the genders are reversed and the male character convinces the female character or pressured her until she gave in. Consent being enthusiastic and freely given is a huge factor for me so if it is for you I'd say be prepared since that can be a hard no for some folks.
I did think it was super interesting to have the explanation of fated mate tattoos described the way they are in this series. As someone who reads a lot of material in the scifi romance category it's always fun to see how authors put their spin on these kind of items. "Korvin shook his head. This human woman was far more trouble than he’d first assumed. “Your skin.” “What of it?” “I could not help but notice that you lack any runes at all.” “I’ve never really had any interest in getting inked.” “But it is Dotharian Conglomerate law.” “Well, I’m from Earth, and I’ve never heard of your Dotharian Conglomerate.” Korvin seemed perplexed by this admission. “All living under Dotharian rule receive their first markings as children, with more added as they grow older. The Infala rune is absolutely required on all who have come of age.” “Like I said, we humans aren’t part of your little club. And the what rune is required?” “The Infala,” he said, pulling his shirt open and showing the rune on his chest. It was more complex than the others, featuring many smaller lines folded into the larger design. “Pretty,” she remarked. “It is the bonding rune. The one that determines our mate.” Nyota pulled back. “Determines your mate? You don’t have any say? What kind of society is this?” “No, you do not understand. It is not like that. We may choose our own mates if our Infala has not found its match. And this happens often. To encounter your bonded Infala mate is something we hope for, but it is not a simple affair.” “Why not? And I still don’t get how a tattoo determines who you’re with.” “The pigment in the rune is alive, always growing. Shifting. And when it comes in proximity of the one it is destined to bond with the designs will connect with each other and begin to change in both parties until eventually they share the same rune.” “Matching tattoos. How quaint.” “It is not a thing to be mocked,” Korvin snapped. “If you weren’t from some uncivilized world, you would know this.” Nyota bristled. “I’m sorry, did you just call me a savage?” “I did not say that.” “It sure sounded like it.” “You know full well…” he groaned. “Frustrating woman. I simply mean you should mind your words on subjects you do not understand, which is surprising as you clearly possess a translation rune.”
The rune mechanics, beyond the mating aspect, are just fascinating to me and they go a long way to making the books in this series feel almost like a blend of magic from high fantasy with normal sci-fi which is a lot of fun. Being able to learn the nuances of this world through our FMCs eyes is a total trip and makes it so that even though there's no language barrier that there's definitely fish out of water/cultural misunderstandings galore. This is helped even further by the fact that MMC is extremely literal. As someone who is neurospicy myself a lot of the early interactions especially remind me of conversations between a neurospicy person and a neurotypical person. “Same difference. They killed people, Korvin. Shot them in the back in cold blood.” “Yes. Raxxians are a cold-blooded race.” “That’s not what I mean.” “You often say what you do not mean. It is most perplexing.” Nyota groaned with frustration. “You…” “Me?” “Yes. You—Ugh!” she grumbled as she fought to suppress her annoyance. She took a deep breath but as the stench of burning flesh filled her nostrils, she opted against another. It would only make things worse. “What I’m trying to say is the Raxxians brutally murdered these people.” “Clearly. Why did you not simply say that?” Nyota wanted to slap his chiseled face but held back—barely. “Look, we’re saying the same thing. The Raxxians did all of this.” Korvin gave her a look as one might to an ill-informed child. “Are you certain of that?” “Yes, duh!”
There are some definite bumps on the path for these characters even after their fated mates style situation solidifies and after actual intimacy which I didn't gel with but that's definitely a personal taste issue. The book is an interesting read and the world building certainly robust so it's an overall good time.

This is book 3 and I look forward to more of this world. Nyota is a human female that gets kidnapped by the evil Raxxian race on her way home and ends up on there spaceship and they are treated like cattle/ food aand she isn’t the only one there are all different aliens all around her but now the ship is attacked and it breaks up when I crashes on a strange planet but just before she saves Korvin in life by killing one off the bad guys who was going to kill him. Korvin is an elite nimenni warrior who was taken by the evil Raxxian along with his crew mates but when the ship is attacked and it crash lands on a strange planet he wakes in a broken piece of the ship with a human female and she tells him when she wakes that she saved him by killing on of the bad guys and he now vows to protect her with his life but he’s no happy about it have to look after a weak human. But when they find the City of Molok they are attacked by 12 aliens but he soon solves this problem and now the Magistrate welcomes them and the help with nasty aliens and when he learns that the female is breaking the law by not having Runes he gifts them his Skizzit to repair Korvins and do Nyota but she is a human and doesn’t even know who is the Dotharian Congomerate is or the law but she will be put in prison until she has them put on her skin. The lady skizzit gives them both a rare pigment and because the blood mixes they soon realise that they belong to each other and as Nyota learns what her new markings can do she is thrilled and her attraction to Korvin is getting stronger every day. But now they must find the others and his leader Heydar and the other crew members. There is so much more to this book that will draw you in and take you on a wild ride. Definitely a must read and the others in this series.

5 tattooed, fated mate, scrappy FMC, big alien stars.
I am really enjoying the Mark of the Infala series. It includes a great plot, lots of spice, and fated mates (they have runes tattooed on their bodies which help their strength and also identify their mates). The main characters have all been kidnapped by a race that collects other races for food and are on a ship being transported to their planet.
In this book, Nyota and Korvin were involved in the fight amongst the Raxxians and their captives when the ship crashed and Nyota "saved Korvin's life" so he vows to keep her safe in return. He wants to look for his leader (whose story was told in book 1) while she wants to look for any humans that might have survived the crash.
Unlike in the previous two books, when they come upon a city the leaders welcome them warmly because Korvin is in an elite warrior class, and when it's found that Nyota doesn't have the runes that are required of everyone, they just hire someone to give them to her.
During their quest to find other survivors of the crash, Nyota's runes make her stronger, they come across another group of survivors as well as the two evil alien races, and discover they have a fated mate connection.
I am really enjoying this alien world and hope that the series continues. The great thing about the premise is that they were all being held in different wings of the original ship so we and they don't really know who else or how many more could have been kidnapped at the same time. This series is similar to other alien romance books but different enough to keep you entertained.
I received an advance review copy which did not affect my review.
wow this series just keeps getting better book after book. I'm loving them. Nyota a human woman is kidnapped from earth. Korvin an elite Bohdzee Nimenni warrior has also been kidnapped along with many other species as food for the evil Raxxians. the ship they are on is attacked and breaks apart before crashing on a planet. there korvin discovers that nyota saved his life so he owes her his protection but his duty is to find his general so together they set out to find him and other survivors. eventually they come to a city where they are welcomed and korvin pays to have his runes fixed and to have nyota inked as it is the law. the magistrate gives them a special gift which comes into play as the story develops. together they set off in search again meanwhile they are both feeling things from the runes developing between them. they find survivors but have encounters not only with raxxians looking to recapture their livestock but the nasty Dohrags as well so there is much conflict, danger, suspense, drama and more. eventually they help the survivors back to the city encounters many hardships along the way and also discovering they are infala mates but not able to complete the bond.
this story is jam packed with so much emotion, adventure, plot twists, and more u can't put it down because u are so excited to see what it going to happen next and will they ever get to complete their bond.
richly developed characters, beautiful world buildings with excellent descriptions of each separate race of aliens and their motivations. feisty strong determined main characters that also show commitment, loyalty, faith, and so much more. a must read series. i received and arc copy from booksirens and this is my honest voluntary review.
Nyota had stopped at a food stall for a takeout meal on her way home from work. She had been on the roof of her building, enjoying the night stars, when everything went black. When she woke, she was no longer on Earth but on a Raxxian spaceship. There were a mixture of captives from various planets, and she was amazed when they could all understand each other. It was explained that all of them had a translation rune applied by one of their ears. Since Earth isn't part of the Dotharian Conglomerate, she's the only one lacking other runes on her body.
Now that the spaceship has crashed, Korvin is caring for her, but he seems to look at her with contempt. Korvin can't believe that he owes his life to the actions of the small female from Earth. But without her, the Raxxian would have killed him after the crash.
He learns from Nyota that Heydar, his general, was aboard the transport. Now his mission is to rescue him. However, she wants to rescue the other humans, since they are so ill-equipped for this planet.
Along their travels, they are able to find transportation to the city of Molok. There, they were attacked by a pack of 12 aliens. Korvin was able to take care of this riffraff, and for this, he and Nyota were presented to the magistrate. Since Nyota lacks the required runes, the magistrate gifts them the use of her best Skrizzit to apply the runes to Nyota and repair Korvin's. But the rare pigment she bestows upon them and a mixture of their blood during the procedure make something thought impossible happen.
I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Nyota was enjoying the evening stars when she was captured by aliens and awoke on a Raxxian ship among a variety of alien captives (to be a food source!!). When she saved Korvin by stabbing his attacker on the ship, he felt he should now care for and protect her in return, although he was not very enthusiastic about it at first. She didn’t have any runes which was important to him as a Nimenni warrior. Would he explain why? And when she tells him that an alien similar to Korvin had been on the transport and Korvin was able to discern that it was his general Heydar he had met, he wants to immediately rescue him. However, Nyota feels they should rescue the humans who are less prepared to survive on the plant than the general would be. Will they resolve their differences? When a magistrate discovers she has no runes, which is against the law, Korvin offers to pay for her to get her runes applied as he has to have his runes repaired since they were damaged by the torture of the Raxxians. To his surprise, her runes healed very quickly and she was able to do things that she should not have been able to do. Both of them feel strange. Could they actually be mates?
Raxxian capture and trading vessel is attacked and it's parts break away. One such lands on a planet with a lot force to form a small crater. Inside is one male alien and one small human female. Nyota comes to and sees an alien standing near her. As they talk she starts to recall what happened. Korvin is helping her to remember and then tells her that because of her he is alive. He now owes her a life debt. They prepare to travel so as to get away from the downed compartment. As they travel they talk and he discovers that his general is the one who put the translation rune on her. Now he has a mission....find his general but also protect the female who saved him. Will they find his general? Will they keep out of sight of the Raxxians who will surely be searching for their chattel? And what's with the feelings she feels when she looks at him? Why is he so standoffish? Will they figure it out or will he or she let the fact that they are different species affect what may be between them? A fantastic story of two different people who come to admire the other for their integrity and responsibility. But a story of a woman who is stronger than she thinks.

⭐️4⭐️ 🌶️3🌶️ I’ve been enjoying this series, I’ve read the first two as ARCs as well. I like that you didn’t relive the crash or the events that happened before it in this book. Korvin and Nyotas story is unique to them. He’s honor bound to protect her with his life as she saved his before the crash. He does his best to keep his distance from her because he was just her “protector.” When he finally gives in their connection and chemestry are great though, some of the spice just wasn’t for me. Also a lot of the smells were referred to as “musky” and it was really repetitive. Nyota is another strong, badass FMC, who acclimates very quickly to her new surroundings. There are characters from the first book brought into this book which tie the whole series together nicely, though they can be read as stand alones.

This is my first read by Kira Quinn and I really enjoyed Korvin and Nyota’s story.
When the ship is attacked and it crashes, she saves Korvin’s life. He is upset to be stuck with such a weak species as they start out to find survivors and sanctuary. He learns over time the endurance of humans. He also learns there are many depths to Nyota.
When Korvin gets his runes, fixed Nyota get her own runes they discover a surprise that rocks both their worlds. As they fight to free survivors and learn to work with eachother. Nyota discovers that the runes she now holds enhances her abilities just like Korvin.
Their story is funny, and action packed. These characters learning about each other, and their races is a great read. I am looking forward to finding more by this author and adding her to be future read pile.
The Raxxian spaceship crashed. They were hauling livestock back to their planet. Nyota is from the Earth and was abducted onto this ship along with other humans and aliens. Nyota saved Korvin when they were on the ship fighting the Raxxians. She had a small knife, jumped on one alien's back, and stabbed him till he died. So Korvin felt he had to protect her. Nyota and Korvin are the only two to survive on that ship. So they headed out to find the other livestock ships and see if there were others that survived. This is a fascinating story. I really loved the way these two get along. I highly recommend this series and I am reading the other two books and will let you know what I think of them, I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another hit in the series! Book 3 continued in the same timeline as Book 1 and Book 2 so I think it's helpful to read the previous two books first but if you just understand that there was a crash the story is still good. Nyota was seen in book 1 but when the initial attack happened and everyone was scattered across the ship running from cover she ended up in a different compartment than the characters in Book 1 and Book 2. Korvin owes her a life debt so he takes on the role as her protector as they navigate the bad guys and the good guys on the new planet. The sparks are hot and angsty because Korvin really doesn't think his fated love was in the cards for his life and the TENSION (whoo) I can't wait to see what Book 4 shows us as the world building is top shelf!

Just like the previous books in this series, the story picks up with an alien (Korvin) and human (Nyota) coming together when their ship crash lands on an alien planet. Korvin shares that he has an oath to protect Nyota but he does it begrudgingly, huffing and puffing all the way through the story. His grumpy old protector act was on overkill. At times it felt like he actually despised her because he is forced to always be by her side instead of going off on his own missions. He hated waiting for her slow ass and even left her alone to fend for herself a few times when she clearly needed help. Good world building, but I wasn't a fan of Korvin despite the eventual HEA.

Korvin the alien warrior is a prisoner of the flesh-eating Raxxians. When their ship crashes, it is human Nyota who saves him from a Taxxian guard, thus creating a life debt. Problem is, Korbin's warrior oath binds him to his missing commander, and the conflict of loyalty makes for one grumpy alien. As the pair of survivors trek to safety, while evading their former captors, their relationship takes on added dimensions, and some serious physical tensions. This is a steamy and exciting read, and following their dangerous adventures is every bit as exciting as their developing relationship. This ARC reader fervently hopes there will be more hot tales of the Infala bond in books to come. And this book gets a 5-star voluntary, independent ARC review.
This is book three of the series and a new couple. Korvin is the warrior that is so disciplined. He was determined to find his leader Heydar. Nyota, the female human, had saved him so he owed her a debt and reluctantly agreed to allow her to go on the journey. The reverse happened between this couple because Nyota was ready to accept their pairing. However, Korvin could only think of duty. He honored his debt to Nyota, by keeping her safe, and the investigation to find his captain. A lot more is explained in this book about the planet and the culture of the various people. This was helpful to understand behaviors and attitudes. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Read On!
I hate to give bad reviews but unfortunately, I had to DNF this at 38%. While the writing is still just as good, and I enjoyed learning a little more about the Conglomerate, its various peoples and customs, I found the dynamic between the two main characters off putting. There doesn't seem to be any spark from Korvin's side at all, he is more than standoffish, and somehow Nyota seems oblivious and keeps pushing herself onto him. I had to draw the line and DNF at what almost felt like rape when Nyota just carelessly proceeded to continue not hearing no for an answer.
I still enjoyed the first two books in the series and am looking forward to the next one.
I am really enjoying this series. Each book plays a little on the book before it, but with not a lot of review of the previous book. Korvin and Nyota have been held captive on an enemy ship when the ship is attacked and they crash to the ground. This story has a lot of action and of course a love story. It is one of those books that is hard to put down until the end. I can't wait for the next installment of the Mark of the Infala.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another well written book in this series. Full of drama, hot steam, intrigue, suspense, action, adventure and lots of twists. Both characters are from the earlier books- strong, smart with lots of feelings (emotions) between them. As Nyota and Korvin fight their way thru the crashed ship to help save others, they both learn more about the other. A really fabulous journey for them both. Can't wait for the next book, this series has so much to offer- A Must Read. Would recommend to others. I am an ARC and leave this unbiased, honest review.
With this third book of the Infala series The Warrior’s Oath a new couple finds themselves having survived the Raxxian ship crash and on the run from recapture.
Nyota and Nimenni warrior Korvin’s adventures are wild and exciting and filled with action, new enemies, suspense and romantic tension.
Loved the writing and continued world building in the over arching storyline along with the engaging characters that kept the story flowing at a fast pace.
Can’t wait for more books in the future!

I don't usually leave reviews but I have to say this one is one of the best scifi romance novels I have read. It has very good world building, good character development and I love it when the humans go thru some kind of transformation. And the fact that each transformation is different is wonderful. It keeps the stories in each book from getting repetitive and stale. I hope more books in this universe are on the way and I hope they all find each other eventually.
Ooh 😯 loved this one! Two former abductees crashed on a planet, one a sexy alien and the other a feisty female. I wouldn’t call it an enemies to lovers romance because they weren’t really enemies. But surviving rough terrain and running from their former captors sure did bring them closer together. Add in symbiotic tattoos and you’ve got a heated, sexy romance that you don’t want to put down. I am not sure if there will be more books in this series but I’m here for more if there are.
The third book of the Infala series is just as good as the former two books. A warrior alien and a strong (willed) woman, who becomes physically stronger with the Infala runes. Making their way through the jungle, finding out who is friend, who is foe. And getting to know and appreciate each other. Wonderful to share their story.
It has started with this trilogy, but it seems there are more to come. Can’t wait to find out what happens next.
Nyota was kidnapped from Earth with other woman by the Raxxians as a food source. Korvin and his teammates are captured by the Raxxians also and he is determined to find his captain. When the ship is attacked, Nyota saves Korvin's life and now he owes her a life debt. The crash land on a planet and must rely on each other for survival. A great story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Always worth the wait to read the new installment in the Mark of the Infala series. It's interesting to see how each of the humans find out they have to get inked and then how each couple handle the realization that they are mated. The heat of the Infala mark isn't all they have to handle. They are battling more than one race of alien bad guy and trying to find and rescue other aliens and humans that have crashed around the planet as well. Never a dull moment in this series!
Prisoner on a ship that sees humans as food, it crashes from an attack. Nyota and Korvin set out to find other survivors after salvaging what they may need from the crashed ship. Nyota is no damsel in distress and she throws herself into danger to save other humans. Korvin is loyal and protective and as much as he tries to resist Nyota, he can't.
Entertaining, danger, action, adventure, good characters, steamy, and HEA.
Ugh; i'm torn. Honestly was not a fan or either MC at the beginning, but once K finally let go & accepted N i fell in love with him. Not sure i like N very much still... I get she was like going through stuff, but the minute she pulled the "your mouth is saying no but your body is saying something else" it was a total turn off; she had a big hole to dig herself out of & i just dont think she quite got there.
I enjoy this series but this book along with the last one felt forced in ways. I understand the MMC having sworn an oath of honor which is why he wanted to keep everything platonic in the beginning. However, it felt very dubcon at points with the FMC coming on to the MMC. I am all for dubcon, except when it is going against one of the MCs main belief or strongly held conviction.
Korvin and Nyota are another great one for this series! Duty bound but knowing he found his infala, Korvin knows where his priorities lie now. Nyota, recovering from her servitude, feels connected to Korvin in ways she’s never felt before. Their intimacy was super hot. The plot and twists to this story kept the images turning as well. I cannot wait to read what comes next.

I loved Nyota and Korvin’s story… Mark of the Infala is a wonderfully creative series. Each book focuses on a different couple’s adventures. In this one, Nyota and elite warrior Korvin’s quest to find his missing friend and comrade turns into so much more... I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Third installment in this series is action packed with romance and humor added for good measure. The world and characters are well developed and quite enjoyable to read. These are standalones but much better if read in order. I looking forward to reading more by this author.
