***SPOILERS AHEAD***
I am by no means an expert ARC reviewer, however - these are my overall thoughts.
The good:
The characters are enjoyable (Crimson is adorable and I see why all three of her mates can't get enough of her), the relationship development is well done, there is plenty of spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, reverse harem lovers will definitely enjoy this short read.
It's humorous, mysterious and engaging. This being Jennifer Carter's debut novel I think there is good things to come from her with more writing! This was my first "Shifter Romance".
There is the perfect potential for an interconnected series with this novel and that is something I really enjoy. That particular development was introduced easily and without any confusion or cliff hanger ending. This can 100% be read as a stand alone and it would be just fine.
The questionable:
There's like.... a ton of breaking the fourth wall.
The list of triggers is definitely missing a few.
I was hoping for some more context in the beginning of the different "social classes" (alphas, betas, omegas - how they interact with humans, what shifters present that's different between each type of wolf, do they have other abilities besides shifting)
This could just be a personal opinion but I found the inner monologues and the flashbacks taking away from context rather than adding a lot to the context, Occasionally it made sense but not consistently.
Multiple times I found myself going back and re-reading a paragraph or previous page because some of the writing didn't match up with earlier context.
And finally, there was some humor that was just poorly placed and seemed to completely divert the mood of the scene being described.
The bad:
I found a lot of grammatical errors & misspelled words, hopefully these can be rectified before publishing and it could be polished a little more.
There are some lines within the story that are completely redundant and in my opinion take away from the story because it's confusing.
There was a moment where I couldn't tell if Crimson was grieving her grandmother or Liam because he hadn't contacted her in a while.
The "red light district" scene was confusing, did Liam follow her to the hotel without her knowing? Why was he lurking outsider her room? I couldn't tell what Adams connection to it all was, in the grocery store he handed her a card that directly referenced a club in the district however it leads to Crimson signing herself up (as a last resort for employment because of all the omegas in the town somehow Crimson is the only one who isn't being give any other options besides sex work or poverty) to be a sex worker in the hotel equivalent of a dumpster?
The note from the grandmother felt a bit like a red herring and extremely overly specific, if the idea of the stalker/serial killer was explained with more context other than someone who Crimson smiled at in the grocery store one time (one time that I'm assuming wasn't when she met Adam?) then it spiraled into everyone being drugged and captured and the grandmother foretold this fortune in an ominous note under the floorboards? Also.... if the serial killer was assumed to be a son of the man who raped Crimsons mother wouldn't that suggest the serial killer is Crimson's half brother.....? Gross.

This book is a spicy retelling of little red riding hood and boy let me emphasize spicy!
This story is fast paced and packs a punch, with humor, tragedy, fated mates, love, lots of spice and was a fun read! I also loved the mystery and suspense elements to this book!
The characters were all wildly different but blend together really well.
Despite some tragic events, the read is somewhat lighthearted and super fun!

Couldn't put it down
I will start with fairytale retellings are not my thing. But this was great. I was hooked from page 1. It was fast and dirty but I didn't mind that at all. Crimson and her Alphas are so cute and funny even in the bad times. I, too, have humor in inappropriate situations. Now I am so curious about Luna's story. It needs a good proofread, but I could overlook it because I was so engrossed.

I love Bailey, Liam and Adam’s bond. You would think that they knew each other for years.
How each of the guys act with Crimson is so sweet 🥹! They would do anything for her!
I also loved the way crimson also shows she is there for each guy when they are working through some strong emotions or thought
Overall it was an amazing book and I can’t wait to see where this series goes🖤

This story is fantastic. I loved the relationship between Crimson and the guys. They have fabulous personalities and amazing chemistry. This story has a ton of action, drama, and suspense. It pulled me in and didn’t let go. There are moments where you can feel the pain that they are experiencing. Then you can feel their happiness and joy. I loved Crimson and her feisty personality. The guys had me laughing out loud at times with their antics. I can’t say I had a favorite out of the guys because they are all fantastic in their own ways. I am not one who likes to spoilers as I love to have the reader experience the full story on their own. But this story has so much going on that it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. Jennifer Carter writes the story with a beautiful flow to the story. She keeps you engaged into the story as you journey alongside these amazing characters. This is absolutely a fantastic story that doesn’t disappoint.

Great book. Crimson is an omega and she really liked her best friend Liam. But he was told he was a Beta so they couldn’t be together even though they wanted to. One day crimson came home and everything in the house felt wrong and her grandma was gone. She immediately contacted Liam. Liam turned out to be an Alpha. A while later she was at Liam’s house and Adam barged in to Liam’s house when he didn’t answer. He had a good reason for not answering. Adam was also an Alpha and they were all mates. Adam and Crimson were out one day and she met Bailey. Great series. A lot happened in the book.

A Tale of the Crimson Wolf by Jennifer Carter is a Red Riding Hood retelling where everyone is a wolf shifter—except for the Huntsman, who is the enemy.
The story starts off strong, with solid world-building and a well-described FMC, Crimson, who seems like she has enough depth to lead the narrative. The first MMC is introduced early on, and initially, everything appears promising. However, once Crimson gets into trouble and her bond with the first MMC is revealed, the story takes a turn.
At that point, the plot fades into the background, and everything revolves around sex. For a virgin FMC, Crimson is surprisingly confident. Don’t get me wrong—I enjoy a good smutty read—but this shift feels abrupt. When the second and then third MMC are introduced, it becomes clear that whatever is happening, Crimson is determined to sleep with one (or more) of them at any given moment. One of them is injured? Let’s see if sex will help. Danger is looming? Time to get naked. There’s so much focus on orgasms that, when the plot finally resurfaces, I half-expected her to mate with the antagonist. Instead, she seduces him as a distraction—which, at least, shows some character development.
Two of the three MMCs have a bit more depth, with explanations for why their connection to Crimson is important. The third, however, feels like an afterthought, mainly there to round out the reverse harem.
The writing style isn’t anything special, but it’s easy to read and follow. If you're not looking for much plot and just want smut and shifter shenanigans, this book delivers.

I'm in love with this authors books,I just can't get enough of them. I first learned about crimson when she made an appearance in echoes of the moonlight. And I knew I needed to know her and her alphas story. And what a fucking story it was.
It's a wild rollercoaster ride that has twists and turns you don't see coming at all. It definitely gave me all the feels. I couldn't put it down for the life of me. It's packed with action, drama, angst, spice, banter and loads more.
The characters, storyline and plot where really thought out and created. The writing is wonderful. And the world created is amazing. I just loved every minute of it and them.
Our fmc crimson is a omega shifter , she's all alone now since the last member of her family passed. But crimson might be in danger, when all of a sudden omegas are being killed. But her dated mates Liam , bailey and Adam won't let any harm come to there little omega. They need to get to the bottom of it. This story was everything and more. I can't wait to read more from Jennifer. Highly recommend!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this spicy shifter thriller. It was full of mystery, intrigue, and romance. I adored our feisty FMC Crimson. She has been through so much at her young age but keeps her head up and pushes forward to survive. She’s incredibly caring and endearing. You can’t help but love her. Our delectable MMCs are so fantastic. I loved each of their charismatic personalities, and their chemistry as a whole was wonderful. Liam is charming and compassionate. Adam is extra spicy, sexy and a trouble maker yet levelheaded. Bailey adds an additional layer of care and protection. They each offer Crimson something to help her maneuver her chaotic life while she has a special way to care for each of them catering to their individual needs. I enjoyed the character development and how they are evolving learning and growing together.
I enjoyed this story very much and the mysterious murdering stalker added an excellent twist. I look forward to seeing what trouble our group finds next.

The world the author has created is wonderful. The characters are well written and interesting.
It was very fast paced, quick read, but I loved that about it. It kept me interested at all turns. I definitely recommend this book, so do not wait to grab this book.

This story is fantastic. I loved the relationship between Crimson and the guys. They have fabulous personalities and amazing chemistry. This story has a ton of action, drama, and suspense. It pulled me in and didn’t let go. There are moments where you can feel the pain that they are experiencing. Then you can feel their happiness and joy. I loved Crimson and her feisty personality. The guys had me laughing out loud at times with their antics. I can’t say I had a favorite out of the guys because they are all fantastic in their own ways. I am not one who likes to spoilers as I love to have the reader experience the full story on their own. But this story has so much going on that it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. Jennifer Carter writes the story with a beautiful flow to the story. She keeps you engaged into the story as you journey alongside these amazing characters. This is absolutely a fantastic story that doesn’t disappoint.

OH EM GOODNESS! This was my first wolf shifter romance and it has me completely feral! I LOVED all of the characters and the spice level was on point.
I love the possessive and protectiveness of the alphas towards crimson as an omega and how submissive she is with them. The alphas are so in love with her and you can just feel it.There's some male competition between Adam and Liam and some joking between them that make me laugh. Bailey makes a late appearance and he fits right in! The mystery/thriller aspect of the book kept me hooked and wrapped up nicely at the end. It has a happy ending and left it open for another story! I can't wait to see what other stories this author writes and I'm happy to say she has officially turned me towards these types of books!

This is a fast pace and high heat read! All the omegaverse why choose romance I have read have been spicy. But the chemistry between these 4 really created some 🥵🥵,fan yourself moments. I loved the mysterious plot line and loose fairytale retelling to go along with it!
Insta-love normally isn’t my thing. But I think Crimson’s character fit with both Adam and Bailey so well that I was 100% into it! Plus the possessiveness of the wolves knowing their mate is a huge bonus! Liam’s relationship with Crimson had me swooning right from the beginning. I love the alpha/omega relationship and it is very well done with these characters.
The ending left me wanting more! I can’t wait to see what else happens with Crimson and her guys!

If you love spicy omegaverse with added suspense, this is the book for you. This is the story of Crimson, an Omega, and her three mates, Liam, Adam and Bailey. There is a serial unaliver of Omegas on the loose and he has targeted Crimson.
I love the world this author has created. The smexy times are hot, the dialogue is sharp and witty, and the characters are wolf shifters. This is an easy-to-read story that will keep you turning the pages. I have never read this author and she is now being added to my must-read list.
Some characters have their own books and I now want to read the story about Luna and her mates.

This book is a wolf shifter, murder mystery RH. I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters , the banter and the murder mystery aspect as well as the well written spice. I just wish it was slightly longer. I would have loved more of the grandmothers character and back story as well as more explanation regarding the murders and the luna and how it’s all connected but over all loved it, and would read more from the author ☺️
It would be fab if it could be made in to an interconnected series as would love to hear more from crimson and her men.
Can’t wait to see more from this author.

I love retelling/reimagining’s of fairytales. This one did not disappoint! It’s super-HOT! This is a fast paced read. There is a lot going on. I love that it is a reverse harem. This book had some laugh out loud moments for me. There is plenty of action, mystery, and spice. I love the chemistry between Crimson and her alphas. They are so protective and possessive of her and she is the same with them. I fell in love with Bailey when he was first introduced to us in the book, and I think he is my favorite. Im ready for more of their story!

Kudos to the author for explaining this world in the beginning of the book because it's a shifter omegaverse with a bit of a history lesson that you need to remember about for the ending to make sense.
That being said...it was okay. Crimson has been bff's with Liam for most of her life and it's no surprise when they finally connect. As we know from the description, Adam and Bailey end up being her other two alphas. TBH, Crimson is a bit too whiney for my taste (which I know is hard to avoid sometimes in omegaverse) and I felt like the writing could've been better. So...entertaining enough but not my favorite.

Please check trigger warnings before reading! This was an amazing book that the author is using an interconnected world for the stories she's writing! The love and friendship connection between Crimson and Liam is all encompassing but as the new guys Adam and Bailey are added its a smooth yet needed transition! Their are twists in the book you don't see coming in addition to surprise appearances. Can't wait to read the next book!

This is a slight darker version of little red riding hood.
It had me hooked from the very 1st page and sat and read in one sitting.
I loved the bond between all the characters Bailey liam and adam each had their own characteristics and brought their own personalities in and they way the each were with crimson was lovely.
I would recommend this to everyone

This was a shifter version of Red Riding Hood, but with a twist. There were a lot of old wives tales regarding Omegas and the 1 that gets chosen as Luna. The thing is there hasn't been a Luna in over 500 years until now. Crimson must face a lot of things now that her grandma has passed. Can she handle it?
