Marigold Ross (“Mari”) is out of college and visiting her Aunt Leigh and Uncle Jack for the summer. She even has a job lined up as head coach for the JV soccer team. Stiff from the cramped plane ride, Mari puts on her jogging outfit and goes for a run. But a house at the end of the street has her staring at how it doesn’t fit in with the brick homes looking instead like rectangles of glass and steel stacked up in a pile two stories high! It’s really ugly, in her opinion. A jogger behind her asks if she is lost and she told him she was distracted by this ugly house. She continued her critique of the hideous house, not noticing he is not smiling as he turns to walk up to the front door and inside. Oops. At least her aunt and uncle couldn’t stop laughing that she had insulted billionaire Julius Ward’s monstrosity of a house! The real estate developer may never recover from the insult! She hopes she will never see him again, as she buries her red face in the couch cushions.
By the second week, Mari was bored. She and Aunt Leigh ran into a friend of her who told her about a Parks and Recreation program that provided 2 weeks of sports for kids. So she volunteered as a summer sports camp coach. She befriends a shy boy named Hudson and he even begins to talk with her as she encourages his tennis skills. Then one day, no one shows up to take him home, so she sits beside him and talks to him about her own shyness. She even got a smile from him. An hour later, a tall man pulled up and they recognized each other – from her criticism of his home. He tried to pay her for staying with Hudson and she refused. He was obviously still upset by her remarks. But Hudson waved goodbye and smilingly told her he would see her for the tournament the next day.
The game was exciting and Hudson was hesitant about being the goalie at the end where he would be responsible for preventing Orange team from scoring. But Mari told him he would be awesome – and he was! Blue team won and Hudson was a hero. The team celebrated at a pizza buffet, Mari and Hudson laughing and bumping shoulders as Julius watched them interact. When Mari goes for a jog the next day, there is some sort of drama going on at Hudson’s home. His nanny is screaming and trying to claim Julius. She told Hudson she would be his step-mom. Hudson realized she lied to him, and he turned to run away. Mari went after him and found him in his treehouse. She asked to join him and held him while he cried and told her about the lies. She reminded him that his dad loved him and the boy strongly responded, “I know”. Julius heard them talking and was relieved at the heartfelt exclamation. And the fondness Hudson felt toward her was obvious. He invites her into his office, and offers her a full-time nanny position. He knows Hudson adores her. And she is so genuine, kind, and honest. This could work out and bring Hudson further out of his “shell” as she works her magic. Will she take the job? And will this be the start of an even better relationship with his son and she gives Hudson the confidence he needs to open up?
This was such an awesome, wonderful story. The author did a perfect job introducing us and giving us a reason to adore her characters. I highly recommend this book. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this one.
Julius is a self made billionaire with an eight year old son. After losing his wife a few years ago he has built a wall around his heart and feelings. Although Hudson is everything to him he is still hiding behind grief and mistrust. Feeling everybody is only interested in him for his monetary worth. Going back to Kingsport for the summer he enrols Hudson into the two week summer sport camp. Mari is sports coach and filling time until her new job at Wisteria Academy as Football Coach starts. She's a breath of fresh air with her easy smile and friendly personality. So when he has to fire another nanny for her amorous behaviour towards him and stealing his dead wife's jewellery he feels happy to employ her to be Hudsons nanny until they return back home to the city. After letting it slip he's done a background check on her will she take the job, then bring told there can be no personal feelings as she's his employee, she agrees to his conditions. However over time she becomes close to Hudson and life begins to change no longer a grumpy father who only has time for work he starts to become the father he never had. Can things really be this simple or is he just looking through rose tinted glasses. Not everybody is happy with the changes in his life can he see things that are in front of him or is his own mind and feelings fooling him. This is a well written book you get a feel for the three main characters and understand how trust is an issue. I loved how the characters and Mari's family are so believable and totally pull you into the story. I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC copy and this is my own honest and personal opinion and review of the book. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I have
Mari Ross has gotten out of college and decides she wants to visit her Aunt Leigh and Uncle Jack for the summer. On her morning jog, she sees the ugliest house on the block and while staring at it another jogger comes up and asks if she is lost. She then proceeds to tell him how ugly the house is and all things bad about it. Little did she know he lived there until he walked into the house. How embarrassing when her aunt tells Mari that it is the Billionaire Real Estate Mogul, Julius Ward. When Mari and her aunt find out there is a two week sports camp for kids and they could use her as a volunteer, she jumps at it. There is the cutest she. When his father py little boy names Hudson and she takes him under her wing to get him to open up a little and even smilulls up, late, it just happens to be Julius who insists he should pay her for her extra time with his son. She of course refused it. She gave Hudson the confidence to play the goalie at the tournament and he did great, the team won and the effect Mari has on Hudson is not lost on his father. When jogging the next day, she hears lots of screaming coming from Julius' house with the nanny and Hudson and it was so bad, Hudson took off running. Mari stepped in and consoled Hudson while Julius saw her effect on him once again. Julius then offered Mari a full-time Nanny position. Will she stay and accept or will she return home? You must read it and find out. This is a fantastic, wonderful, sweet story that I couldn't put down. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
This was a first time read for me by this author and I found it to be quite a delightful story. Mari is visiting her aunt and uncle for the summer. While out for a run one morning, she inadvertently insults the house of one of their neighbors, not knowing she's talking to the homeowner himself. Shortly after, she starts a summer coaching position for a summer sports camp. When she starts her coaching position, she meets a shy little boy, Hudson, and bonds with him. She later finds out he is the son of the very man's house, Julius, she insulted when she first arrived. But fate has a funny way of working, because Julius sees how good she is with Hudson, and Hudson really responds to her, so he offers her a nanny position which she can't refuse. Julius has built a wall around his heart but Mari has somehow begun to crack that wall, and slowly she begins to help him heal and connect more with his son. A very sweet and charming story that I am glad to have had the opportunity to read. I received a complimentary copy from BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Recommended for: those that want a couple who build a relationship/ no sex; kissing at end of book
Notes / opinion:
This is my first read by this author. This was a very enjoyable clean romance. the beginning hooked me and it was easy to keep going until the end. Single Dad was just a bit lost in parenting but not grumpy (as is the norm for single dad romances); nanny was intelligent, used her brain and self confident. It was a great read and departure from other stories in this troupe. If I had to pick a dislike - it would be the illustrated cover of which I am not a fan of in general. That said, I very much enjoyed the story and would recommend it.
In this coming of age book a young woman fresh out of college moves to new town for a fresh start. The problem is her new job doesn’t start right away so she volunteered at a summer camp to pass the time. At the camp a little boy captures her heart and she ends up being in the right place at the right time when he needs a new nanny. With a busy handsome dad Hudson has a problem keeping nannies from falling in love with his dad. Mari vows to do just that, but it might be harder then she thinks. Bellame does a great job of setting the scene and growing the characters as the plot develops. It’s fun and teaches what summer should be about. FUN I would recommend this to all who love small town romance.
This is a fun, entertaining, clean, sweet read. Julius and Mari are interesting, relatable, captivating, entertaining characters. Their meet cute is perfect for these characters and their story – I really liked it. I enjoyed their romance and time on page together. Bootz did a good job with showing how grief can affect people differently and it’s affects on their relationships. I loved the first meeting and the interaction between Hudson and Mari. He is such a sweet child and a good addition to the story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Mari meets shy, quiet Hudson during summer camp and instantly is drawn to him. But then she meets Hudsons Dad Julius and realizes he's the one who's home she insulted a while back! Its awkward at first. But when Hudsons nanny is fired, Julius asks Mari to become the new nanny since she's bonded so much with Hudson. The only rules... no dating and feelings can happen with him, as her employer. Seems simple enough.... until its not, for either of them. And while they deny their growing feelings, life throws another wrench into their plans threatening her future with Hudson and Julius for good.
I thought this was a sweet, single dad romance. Mari is a fun loving coach that begins teaching at a summer camp and instantly connects with Hudson, a kid who was being picked on. Hudson is a little bit unusual in the sense he doesn’t act like all the other kids. This is due to being raised by his billionaire, single dad, Julius. Julius needs all the help he can connecting with Hudson so he recruits Mari to help him.

A sweet romance bore of circumstances. He’s the grumpy neighbour she insulted… She is a summer camp sports coach , she’s fresh out of college but Mari has an old head on her shoulders , she makes friends with shy child Hudson who’s father is Julias Ward . Her neighbour! When he asks her to be their Nanny she can hardly refuse…. A really sweet adorable read.

I would have rated this 3.5 but it’s not possible.
This was such a cute, fast and entertaining book to read. I literally read it in one sitting. I enjoyed it a lot. This book reminds me of the short and small pocketbooks I have read in high school. And that is in a good way. That’s what hooked me into reading. I will definitely read more books by the author.

Smitten for the Summer is a Small Town Off Limits Romance by Bellame Boots. I think that this was a very enjoyable romance. Mari and Julius got off on the wrong foot. Julius son, Hudson, is a terrific character. I liked the way the author introduced Mari and Julius as well as Hudson in the story. I found the story unfolded like a flower and I couldn't put the book down… this is an excellent story. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
I really liked this book. It left me with a smile on my face. I loved the relationship between Mari and Hudson and how kind she was to him. I liked how getting to the hea wasn't smooth sailing but they got there. Would have been great to see a little more about Maris and Julius relationship after they got together like their wedding. It was a great sweet story with characters I could relate to as well as a couple of villains to keep it interesting!
Mari has moved in with her aunt and uncle for the summer as she waits for school to start and her coaching job. For something to do she decided to help out at a summer camp where she met Hudson. Little did she know he is the son of the man that she met on the street and called his house “ugly.”
Really enjoyed this book with its twists and turns. The main characters are well written but Hudson is adorable with his crush on Sunshine. I highly recommend this book.
I just adored this romance. I couldn’t stop giggling at Mari and Julius’ meet cute…and at so many of their interactions. These two are just adorable together and I loved how sweet this romance was. I found this book so entertaining and enjoyable to read! It is my first Bellamy Bootz book but it definitely won’t be my last!.

Bellame Bootz is a new author that I think will do well. This story has romance, humor, a billionaire, a mean girl, a precocious little boy and a fresh out of college youth worker, who becomes the nanny. No surprise the billionaire and the nanny fall in love, this is a romance, but there are some twists and turns that make the story fun.
A fun, entertaining and sweet clean romance with relatable characters. Neighbors who had a not so perfect introduction (their meet cute) but later find out they have someone in common, his son and her new friend. It's well-written and I couldn't stop until I got to their maybe not smooth sailing HEA.

I truly enjoyed this wonderful book. Mari, Julius, and Hudson are wonderful characters in this entertaining story. This is a story that I read and I felt good during the reading and happy how it ended.
Well written story with strong characters. Clean age gap nanny for the summer romance. Looking forward to more from Bellame Bootz. Received ARC copy from the author. Review voluntarily given.
