The day she lost them all was the day vengeance found her. Shadows have always been a part of Kriena Black. The shadows of memories from the family she lost in a single night, and the literal shadows that only she has the power to summon when she needs to disappear. If only the creatures that haunt Faermere after dark were mere shadows that she could bend to her will. Thanks to a single mistake, the mysterious Runi leader of the most feared creatures in the city of corrupt Fae has his eyes set on Kriena, demanding that she repay what she so foolishly cost him. With no room for negotiation, she becomes the devil’s pawn in a game that she assumes has nothing to do with her, but she finds the true feeling of family in the unexpected. With the help of a few trustworthy Fae, Runi, Dryads, Sirens, and a Shapeshifting devil, Kriena becomes a key player in this game of death and revenge.

IMPORTANT This is book 1 in the “Daughters of Lotus” trilogy. Each book has its own small HEA, but the books should be read in order for the best experience and the big HEA for all!

Abigail, you did it. Your first full novel in the trilogy about the daughters of Lotus. I'm proud of you. Beautifully written with great characters and lots of humor. This is the story of Kriena and Nash. It's amazing how they revolve around each other and don't want to express their feelings. Also the characters of the Clan; a siren, two young dryads, a Fae, and an elemental fire mage. It's amazing how they are there for each other and protect each other. As usual, I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't put it down! Read this first great book in this trilogy. You won't be disappointed.

I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily writing a review.

This is an incredible read. Fantastic world building, awesome characters and an exciting, intense and thrilling storyline that combined draws you in and does not let go. Kriena Is such a fantastic character, she is strong, she is feisty and she has suffered a great loss. Nash Is a shifter and a leader of a clan of rebels who stand against the fae king. They consist of a Siren, Two Dryads, a Fae and an elemental Fire mage and they are doing their best in this action filled and adventure filled story. The author weaves her magic and has us on the edge of our seat and I am so looking forward to reading more!

“Even the rat.”

Obsessed with Nashal’s perfectly overbearing personality and Rek’s quirky flirtatious personality. Very quick read (which is a mega plus for this busy momma.) Enemies to lovers. Perfect first book to the trilogy. Does not end on a cliffhanger, but leaves it open for interpretation of what could be coming. My wheels are definitely turning with thoughts of what is to come (are they searching for the same girl?!) Eager for the next book!!

This is the first full length novel from Abigail. Her previous books have been short stories.

Despite this book being longer, Abigail has done it again with the amazing characters, great banter and even better storyline. As usual, I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't put it down!

I highly recommend all of Abigail's books. I received a complimentary copy of the book and I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.

You're going to love Fate Thief!! Abigail weaves a tale with characters and details that kept me intrigued and laughing. Sitting on the edge of my seat at times! I'm looking forward to reading the series as well as any thing else she's written. I don't always give five stars but Abigail's book actually deserves a TEN!!!!!

I hate leaving scathing reviews on books but I am sooooooooo mad about this book. Where was my promised epic fantasy? and enemies to lovers? And to be compared to the works of Sarah J. Maas, K.F. Breene, Ilona Andrews, Kelly St. Claire, Linsey Hall, and Jennifer L. Armentrout!!!!!!!!!

The only good things about this book was the pretty cover and the misleading synopsis.

This was an enjoyable fantasy romance. I love the shadow magic and shifter powers. I actually loved all the magic powers described in the story. Lotus being the name of a moon goddess is unique and I'm excited to read more about the daughters and how the prophecy comes to life. I liked the interactions between Kriena and Nash.

I’ll give it 2 stars cause I finished it…but I won’t be reading more. I don’t feel the story matched up to the summary. There was little to no world building or relationship development. Final battle is over in pages. I claims to be college age or new adult but it really is more of a young adult book other than the one sex scene that lasts all of two paragraphs.

A lovable band of misfits!

While Fate Thief was a fun read overall, my absolute favorite part was the cast Abigail has populated this fantasy world with. They are an interesting and lovable band of misfits whose personalities, as well as their magical gifts, complement each other and provide plenty of comedic relief.

I love Kirena so much and watching how strong she is. After being forced from all she knew to make a life for herself. She is so sassy and fun but also strong and resilient, I love her with Nash and their dynamic

A full length novel, as a prequel to a trilogy is a first, as far as I'm concerned, from this author.
I am more than pleasantly surprised as Abigail nails it.

Kriena was taken away by her aunt and separated from her two sisters when she was no older than five years old. She doesn't know , now aged twenty, if her parents are still alive or her sisters.

Her aunt has always taken care of her and even provided her with a job in the linen wash house where they have an apartment. One day, two Royal Fae soldiers arrive with the goal of arresting her because she dared shift in Town square. It goes farther then that as they kill her in front of her niece.

Devastated, Kriena joins up with a gang of "Robin Hoods" in order to assert vengeance on the person of the Fae King and try to repair some of his bad deeds. The current leader of the group is called Nash, a Shifter, and he leads a clan composed of a Siren, Two Dryads, a Fae and an elemental Fire mage. The description is far away from the portrait of "murderers, traitors, deviants and bandits" that the Fae King has been spreading around.

Action, discovery and mastering their own powers, love, betrayal, hate, torture, battles are part of this brilliantly written story by a very gifted author that uses that gift to virtually transport the reader on this adventure with a plot that makes it hard to put the book down. I highly recommend this book, I rate it 5 Stars +++++ and am awaiting the second book in this trilogy.
