The cold, treacherous Colorado mountains serve as a perfect backdrop for this suspenseful tale. The harsh, unforgiving environment mirrors the danger and uncertainty that Isabelle and Adam face. Yet, amidst the freezing temperatures and relentless pursuit, the warmth of their faith shines through, offering them guidance and strength.
This book is incredibly captivating! Cate Nolan's writing style pulled me in, and I devoured the book in no time. The characters felt so real and relatable, especially in their expressions of faith amid intense danger. Isabelle and Adam's journey is not just a physical escape but a profound spiritual adventure as well. Their unwavering trust in God, even when facing relentless threats, is deeply inspiring. The plot is tight and action-packed, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian suspense and mystery.
The following quotes are among my favorites and highlight the core message of this story—the unshakeable presence of God in the midst of chaos. Adam’s journey to trust God, despite his past struggles, is a powerful testament to the strength found in faith. Isabelle’s realization of God’s constant presence offers hope and comfort, even when their situation seems dire: • “I remind myself that God is in control.” The words sounded so simple spilling from his lips. They gave no indication of the hard-fought battle it had taken him to get to this place of trust in God. An ongoing battle, like so much of his recovery. • “You’re not alone,” her heart whispered. “God is always with you.” • “God is with me.” That truth, strong and clear, echoed in her mind.
Cate Nolan’s Colorado Mountain Kidnapping weaves heart-pounding suspense, faith, and the chilling beauty of the Colorado mountains into an unforgettable tale. From the moment the first cryptic phone call shatters the calm, this novel captures the imagination and keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
I received a digital ARC of Colorado Mountain Kidnapping from the JustRead Publicity Group Tours and the author. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
It only took one tiny event to set off a large chain of mysterious events. And those events completely changed the lives of Isabelle Weaver and Adam Dalton. The mysterious events that were thrust upon them took them from complete strangers to completely relying on each other to solve them.
And that mystery captivated me from the very first page. The twists and turns had me fully engrossed. So much so that I could feel everything the characters were experiencing. The nail-biting intrigue and suspense entwined with amusing and tender moments, as well as courage and faith, will keep you glued to the pages up to the very end.
This is one of the best suspense novels I've read. It keeps the anticipation coming with every chapter. The author kept PTSD, and healing as a result of war very real. The chaos and then calmness with letting God take control is something I have done on so many occasions. I am sleep deprived because I couldn't put this novel down. The author did a great job in showing how chaos can become calmed when letting the lord take over.
Fabulous read! My only wish is that the book was much longer! I loved the characters and the storyline and hope there a more book in the series. And "my football baby", what could be cuter...
Isabelle Weaver is ready to enjoy a little time away with her daughter, as well as her best friend and her baby. When she receives a strange phone call from her friend warning her to get out of the cabin with the children now, she is puzzled until she sees the car pull into the drive. This is just the beginning of what will be a wild ride for Isabelle and these two little girls.
Adam Dalton is a former army ranger who has some lasting scars, both physical and mental, from his time in the military. He is content to have little to no contact with the outside world. That is until Isabelle comes banging on his fence gate on the run from armed men.
Adam suffers from panic attacks and other issues, but he is still a warrior and protector at heart. Isabelle and the children are at the right place to be protected. This was an explosive, fast-paced run for your life story. These men are after something, and they will stop at nothing to get what they want. This was one of those armchair clinching thrillers as danger lurked around every corner.
Isabelle and Adam have found that their strong faith can be and will be their refuge in times when things look bleak. Adam was a true hero in every sense of the word because he put aside his personal pain to be a protector for a young woman and two small children. I loved the way he was able to soothe Isabella's young daughter and make her forget the danger they were in. This little girl was a trooper as well.
This was an incredible mystery that ran wide open from the first chapter until the final chapter.
Thank you to JustRead Publicity Tours and the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I received this book as an ARC with no expectation of a positive review. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Nolan. It will not be the last. Isabelle with her five year old daughter is watching her friend, Jess', baby daughter, Laura. She receives a call from Jess telling her grab the children and get out of the house. This leads to an adventure that is so white knuckled that it was so hard to put it down. I never saw the ending coming. You will want to grab this book for a wild ride.
Colorado Mountain Kidnapping by Cate Nolan was action packed from page 1! The scenes and characters were so well described that I easily imagined everything as I read. The book was hard to put down for that reason. I loved Adam, Isabelle, Mia, Laura, Chance as well as the secondary characters of Claire and Nate. I thought Adam's PTSD was handled well as was Isabelle's ability of relate to what was happening to Adam because of her past experience. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Cate Nolan.
I love the romantic suspense books. This one was so good. It is so sad what our soldiers face and have to live with along with others who have faced trauma in their lives. I'm so glad to see ways that are being found to help them overcome that trauma. This was fast paced and kept me turning the pages to see how it would all work out. Well done!
This is my first Cate Nolan book , but I don’t plan on it being my last! What an adrenaline rush! This story was Full of action and suspense! Isabelle Weaver is told to take the girls and run, and that is just what she does! She runs straight to a “closed off” veteran with PTSD. Can former Army Ranger Adam Dalton help Isabelle keep her young daughter and her best friend’s baby safe?
Colorado Mountain Kidnapping is a quick, suspenseful read that also incorporated love into the storyline. It was well written, imaginative and kept the reader wanting more. I have an English teaching background and enjoyed the book thoroughly. Cate is a talented writer who knows how to capture her reader’s attention. I will definitely read more books from Cate Nolan.
I really like the stories that have the people loving the scriptures and loving their Lord, and living for Him. These action packed stories have them living a morale life. Thanks Cate.
This book was pretty enjoyable. I didn’t expect very much out of it, but it was pretty absorbing nonetheless! I was pretty wrapped up in the intrigue as to why this infant is constantly being kidnapped.
