Can’t go wrong with a Parker novel. Probably my third reread of the series.

A delightful romp that clocks in at a pretty short 200 pages. Parker acts more like a hard boiled criminal in this book, whereas in the first book he acts like a sociopath at times. I view this as a good change.

The second act of the book is a bunch of Parkers associates committing jobs against 'the outfit', which makes for a very fun, fast paced read.

If any book were to be turned into a movie/TV series this would be a low hanging fruit.

Looking forward to the next in the series, great beach read.

Once again, Parker ends up facing down organized crime and it's awesome. I was so happy when I found out Mel Gibson's Payback came from a book series, and this is exactly what I'd hoped it would be.

My favorite part of this one, however, is the step away from Parker and the bigwig Outfit people for the heist montages.

This very inspiring, and I need to find some Parker pastiche once I'm done with the series.

Ahh good old Parker has finally had enough and makes good on his word to bring The Outfit to its knees. I’ve found myself wishing these books were slightly longer just to have more time in that world

An amoral gunhand goes to work on an extremely loose depiction of the mafia. I admire Stark's willingness to make his anti-hero an absolute prick, and this certainly moves quickly, but there's an element of fanboyishness to all of it that kind of sticks in my craw.

The pacing was much different this time around. As I was reading, it was a bit annoying to jump to a different character every chapter in Part 3, but overall was a nice end to a great trilogy of books. I’ll keep trucking my way through.
