I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Missy Walker so far! Iron Heart is the third book in the Slater Siblings series, and as an Australian author, Missy has yet to fail (in my eyes) at delivering a satisfying HEA. I read a lot of dark romance, so it’s refreshing to pick up one of Missy’s books knowing I’m guaranteed a solid happily-ever-after 🫶🏼
I started reading her books in late 2024, and during the switch from reading on my iPad to my Kindle, I only just realised I could transfer my purchased books from the BookFunnel app to my Kindle — winning!
If you love a good bodyguard romance with some steamy dom/sub scenes, I highly recommend this one. Kinsley and Victoria’s story is fantastic. You meet Victoria in the earlier books in the series, which follows each brother’s journey, and while this can be read as a standalone, reading the first two books gives you the full background and makes it even better.

This is the final book of the Slater Siblings and this story revolves around Victoria aka Viki Slate, a well known female vocalist who needs protection after she was abducted a few months before her story. Kingsley, a special forces veteran has been honourably discharged and he takes on the assignment of her personal protection. Initially they clash as both are strong willed characters but as they get to know each other, they learn to appreciate the other person's strength and vulnerabilities. This book is a wonderful portrayal of two hurting and insecure in love characters. As they reveal more and more of their inner selves to each other, they demonstrate their growing trust in one another and they can't help but fall deeply in love.
I really liked both Victoria and Kingsley, they were a perfect pairing and I was sad to finish the book as I wanted more!
Ms Walker does not disappoint with her entertaining writing style, the angst, the humour, the erotic BDSM love scenes which all make this book interesting and addictive and forces the reader to carry on reading till the very end. I really enjoyed this book and thought it the best book of this series. I was given an advance reader copy and I rate this book 4.75*.

4.5 stars I really enjoyed reading Iron Heart by Missy Walker. It’s book 3 in the Slater Siblings series. Victoria, aka Viki Slate, is a singer that has PTSD from a kidnapping and needs a new bodyguard. Kingsley is ex-military (with his own PTSD issues) agrees to act as her bodyguard. These two are both very strong-willed, independent people. They have a unique understanding of each other, bond together and fall in love. You really feel their chemistry! The BDSM is tastefully done, as are the flashbacks to their traumatic experiences. I really liked this series and look forward to the author’s next book.

This was really great.
Victoria has a new bodyguard but they dislike each other immensely until she follows Kingsley to a kink club and they find a commonality.
Victoria was the ultimate brat, pop star needing a bodyguard but Kingsley was the ultimate man in control, in more ways than one.
Once they find their common ground, their romance really kicks in as does the suspense.
Well done with great characters and am interesting plot.

This series has been great so I was looking forward to reading Victoria's story. Boy oh boy it was so good! Victoria and Kingsley are both strong but broken inside characters and I love them both. They help each other heal from past traumas. Victoria from being kidnapped and Kingsley from losing his platoon in war and it's beautiful to read. To watch as they grow together and fall in love, even though both are to scared to say it. Missy has written the D/s scenes with care and because of that they are more realistic, trusting, and spicy. The hea these two fight to get is so worth it in the end!

Trigger warning: dealing with loss, kidnapping (not the fun kind), SA, PTSD
Somewhat emotionally heavy book. MMC has demons he’s facing so he tries to keep a hardened exterior. FMC is also dealing with a traumatic event she went through. Their walls come down and they allow each other to be vulnerable but the walls come back up before the HEA.
Beautifully sad story which turns very hopeful.

December 13, 2024I stopped reading the minute the hero had sex with what he thought was someone else even tho it was the heroine. I'm not in these books to read about sex with other people. I gave Vincent a pass in his book because he had only met the heroine once.

Was hooked from first chapter.. his hard outer shell hiding his soft but tortured insides... his own hurt that only she could break through.. her trauma that only he could help ease away. They needed one another.. was awesome .. Great series.

4.5 Amazing read and I love how they developed over the story, although it was rather short. My issue is the end was too rushed for all they had been through in the past.

Victoria is a strong willed, fierce and determined FMC, but she has some demons to battle.
Kingsley is her protector, bodyguard strong alpha broody, MMC, with his own demons that he is battling.
She is a pop star and he is her bodyguard, lines cross, a Dom/Sub relationship takes them both by surprise.
Really good novel, well written.

Victoria is the youngest of the Slater siblings, she is a famous singer that had a bad experience so now she needs protection. Now you wouldn't just pick anyone to take care of her security no you want the best.
Kingsley is the best of the best and when he is hired to be a bodyguard to Victoria it will be a job for him, but will it?
This series ended with the best of the best, this is the last book in the Slater Siblings and we do get to see all of the siblings so yes it is best to read this one in order.
