“Ye cannae simply force me tae marry the man who ruined me life!”“Aye,” the laird said. “I can.”Iain MacThomas is surprised to find a lass tied to a chair in the basement below his chamber. What’s even more unusual is that she turns out to be the daughter of his father’s greatest foe.
As he knows "you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer", he marries her…
Evangeline Robertson has no idea who abducted her in the dead of night. What she does know is that being “saved” by the MacThomas clan is really no salvation at all.
While convinced that Iain has taken her away for his own agenda, she finds herself drawn to him like a moth to a flame. And as Evangeline uncovers that she's just a pawn and Iain has been the main target all along, the race to save his life may prove too late…
"The Laird's Healing Touch" is a Historical Scottish romance novel of more than 400 pages. STANDALONE, No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Best-Selling author, Fiona Faris, invites us to an unforgettable journey of the Maxwell Lasses series to the breathtaking scenery of the Scottish Highlands. Are you ready for it? DON'T MISS THIS!
Fiona Faris is an American author of authentic historical Medieval & Scottish romance books. She started writing historical highlander romance after she visited the Scottish Highlands years ago with her husband.
Her books have received startling reviews about the humor, the darkness and the romance they have.
She lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband and their two sons. Before she started writing romance, she experienced the various occupations: translator, dog-training, and a substitute English teacher for the most part of her life... However, nothing could ever compare to writing stories depicting the majestic and mysterious Scottish Highlands!
Saw the cover, liked it. Read there was no cheating, and the author lied! He is a manwhore and chose a woman to fuck for the night. He slept with most of the barmaids there and chose one he hasn't fucked yet, so they go to his room. They start but he hears muffled sounds, the tavern slut leaves and he goes down to see where the noise comes from, he sees the heroine tied up. She is the daughter of his enemy, so he marries her for reasons....on their wedding night, and after he has sex with his now wife, the heroine, the next morning wakes up in an empty bed..she looks for her husband to give him a kiss and she catches him flirting with the maid. He tells the maid "who will know?" smiling at her. The heroine opens the door to the bedroom and catches them, she is angry and hurt and realizes he will not change. Every pretty girl he flirts with and puts on the charm. He then says to her, why should he change his man whore ways. Afterwards he promises her that he will not look at another lass again and be faithful........too little too late! He says that he did it to hurt her so he isn't attach to protect himself......*BULLSHIT!!* We know he wanted to fuck other women, because that is his thing, getting his dick wet whenever he wants. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE REFORMED MANSLUT!! He was with the maid to fuck her. Did not finish. Will NEVER read this author, she is a fraud. Fiona Faris here is something you already know;, cheating is not just full on sex or oral or kissing. It is also flirting and had she not caught him, he would have fucked the other woman! Him promising to be faithful after does not erase him flirting with another woman after he takes the heroine's virginity on their wedding night AND him starting to have feelings for her. So that is what he does? Try to get into an OW's pants? I don't know who you are trying to fool but it only makes your readers angry! I thought I would try a new author, and I thought the dude on the cover was hot. What a waste of my time! Don't waste your time or money on a lying author! Fiona, If you say no cheating, then there better be NO FUCKING CHEATING!!!
This book is amazing and I loved it! Fiona weaves yet another exciting tale of love, loss and betrayal in this story of Evangeline and Iain. From rival clans, they find themselves together when Iain rescues her after she’s been kidnapped. Taking her to his home proves to be a bumpy ride as his father is suspicious of her. Soon Iain finds himself being forced to marry Evangeline and he is not too happy about it. But things will change. I love the way his feelings and thoughts change as their relationship grows. There will be times of doubt as someone is trying to make her believe it was Iain who kidnapped her. There is danger and betrayal from one so close to Evangeline it will shake her to her core. In the end, the truth to the war between their two clans is revealed and they are all able to move forward and heal even as Evangeline and Iain find their happily ever after.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
A dramatic tale. They should be enemies, but the chemistry is strong. Will it be enough?
Evangeline is the headstrong eldest daughter of the Laird. She is also the clans healer. When she receives a message from a woman in labor she sneaks out of the keep, only to awaken bound and gagged in a dark room. Still she tries to call for help, making only faint sounds.
After a night at the pub, Iain goes to his room. He hears a strange sound and finds a hidden trap door which he opens, surprised to look into the eyes of a woman being held prisoner in the secret room. He frees her and takes her to his clans castle.
On speaking to Evangeline he is suspicious. Their families just agreed on a truce. Is she a spy?
I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and I liked the characters, especially Evangeline. She is brave and speaks her mind. She's open and friendly even in bad situations often offering help and advice to others.
Iain MacThomas, the future Laird of his clan was a womanizer who had no intention of ever settling down. After a night at the local tavern as he and one of the barmaids are starting to get intimate he hears a noise. He finds a trap door in his room and he finds a lass of his enemy clan. He takes her home where his father declares he must marry Evangeline Robertson as his father believes her a spy. Evangeline had been kidnapped while in her way to help one of the ladies in her clan deliver her baby. She was in no way prepared to marry Iain. Once they are married the two begin to fall in love although there are many twists and turns to their happiness, one in the form of her kidnapper who happens to be her beloved uncle Mitchell. In the end their love wins out as they unite the two warring clans.

Rival clans, talk of truce and a kidnapped daughter what more can you want from a Medieval Romance set in the Highlands of Scotland? How about enemies turned to lovers with some truth revealed as to a plot set to keep them apart. This was a riveting story by Fiona Faris that was filled with excitement and suspense all the way to the end. Iain and Evangeline were a great pair and made the story more intriguing as they got to know each other.
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily leave this review.
Loved this emotional roller coaster …so full angst and fear…love and hate …joy and sorrow…trust and suspicion right from the beginning to the end! An amazing story of two strangers tossed together! One moment in time that changed both their lives irrevocably and ultimately the future of their Scottish Clans! The story of Evangeline and Eian is an amazing, sizzling, tumultuous, love story that encompasses and changes so many lives! I couldn’t put this book down till the very last page!
The MacThomas and Robertson clans have been enemies for as long as Iain MacThomas could remember. When he found Evangeline Robertson tied up in a room below his, his protective nature kicked in and he had to rescue her, bringing her to his castle. Iain’s father insisted they wed to end any clan wars forever. Neither Iain nor Evangeline wanted that but had to agree. But the attacks did not stop even while the two became closer. A family secret is behind it all and kept me on the edge of my seat. Loved the characters.
I do love reading Fionas books. This book is no different. Once you opened up the first page you get sucked into the world of Scottish highlanders and kilts, you just can't go wrong. I Loved the characters they really worked with the storyline, which is very well written. Just couldn't get enough of the romance. I look forward to the next book this author publish. You don't want to miss out on this read if you love Scottish lairds and thier women.
This was a fast-paced, swoon-worthy read, that I found I did not want to put down! The story was original and exciting with characters that were realistic and likable. It is everything you could want in a delightful stroll through the pages of a historical romance and more!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
I read it. It wasn’t bad just not exciting nor did it draw me in. Typical scenario but the author didn’t write in a style that seduces the reader to feel the emotions of the characters. The hero I liked, the front cover won me over and made me read it. His character was strong passionate caring.
I have enjoyed this book. Iain and Evangeline had a lot of trials to go through before their life got into normal. I suspected the uncle but I didn’t know what his reason was until later.
Fiona is an excellent author. Really love this book and I’m glad to go to the next one as soon as an unwanted marriage happened. It was a great story. You’ll have to read it to see who the evil was in the end.
Evangeline is rescued by Iain after she was kidnapped. They are from two clans who don't trust each other. The story of how trust has to be earned is well written into this book. Lots of action. Great series
Filled with much sizzling chemistry between Iain and his unexpected love interest. The wife he didn't want turned out to be the one woman he couldn't live without. Excellent story! ❤
