In a world where the magic Gifted oppress the Commonborn, a spirited inventor’s daughter must join forces with a stiff, new lieutenant to save the Republic of Steam.
With a family legacy that invented steam power and founded the Republic, everyone thought Amelia Steam would accomplish the next impossible thing. Now everyone believes she burned down her family’s company, killed her parents, and obliterated her family name. Hoping to redeem herself, she works outside the Republic as an undercover agent. But as soon as her big break appears, she’s forced to work with Ander Blackwell—a frustrating soldier who’s as stiff as a board.
Ander has his own challenges. Although he’s the top-of-his-class graduate from the Steam military academy, he’s one failure away from being discharged from what he's prepared his whole life for. This is why when his commander asks him to step far out of his element and retrieve a secret message at a masquerade ball, his only answer was “yes.” There he collides with Amelia, who seems to have no regard for authority or teamwork.
At the ball, they discover a dangerous plot that could destroy the entire Republic. The discovery changes everything. Somehow, the two must overcome their differences to face an enemy with greater intel, more numbers, magically enhanced soldiers, power over the elements, and a psychotic assassin. Their only assets are a small airship crew and every ounce of teamwork, innovation, and moxie they can muster. Will it be enough? Or will this be another failure that costs the lives of thousands of Commonborns?

Quite a ride from a debut indie author with this book! It was some steampunk, some fantasy, and all action! Never a dull moment with a fun cast of characters with personalities galore.
“The mind to bridge the impossible. The strength to face the dark without succumbing. The heart to persevere against all odds.”
That quote really sums up the story.
A new lieutenant to the Republic and a famous inventors daughter have to put aside their differences and their dislike and distrust of one another to take on the larger, and better equipped foe of the Gifted. Can they use their combined talents to overcome and protect their country, or will the bickering and posturing ruin their chances of success?
“He felt the team’s eyes bore into him, and the weight of responsibility felt like an anvil dropped onto his shoulders that was now threatening to rip him off the wall.”

Everblade is a story of adventure and intrigue that keeps you captivated from beginning to end. The story is fascinating and unique and the characters delightful and full of depth. The writing is so well done, clean, and leaves you wanting more. This is absolutely a book you want on your shelf to read over and over again and share with others. If you love magic, fantasy, and good storytelling, this is a book for you!

This story kept me captivated throughout the adventure. It was a fun read and I highly recommend it to all - young and young at heart. You will find a bit of yourself in the characters and you will appreciate their personal growth as they play their part in the struggle of good vs evil.

I couldn’t put this book down! I absolutely loved getting to know all of these interesting and real feeling characters! I am very gracious I was able to copy edit this book but I also feel quite ecstatic to have read the complete work and to have a copy of it myself now! It is a powerful adventure story with lots of heart and plenty of thrilling moments full of action! I can’t wait for more to come in this series!

This book takes you from sewers to ballrooms, magical fortresses and jungles, all while navigating airships, traps, relationships, enemies, unexpected allies, and the ferocity of nature. The writing is clear and concise with hardly a dull moment. It’s awesome. You’ll love it. Read it.

This was my first read in the steampunk genre. I'm hooked on this series and I'm very excited for the next book to come out next year! It was a relief to find an action packed book with a bit of romance WITHOUT language or smut. The amount of detail in the map and schematics was beautiful and the explanations of how things work didn't confuse me or draw on too long. I'm definitely going to be following this author couple's creations.

Wonderful read. All the characters were interesting with their own history’s and motivations. Dispite the large cast of characters the book manages to avoid an overloading you with names and personalities to remember. The concept is unique and has lots of potential for future books in the series. Overall fantastic book and a series I’m going to follow.

February 15, 2024My three boys really enjoyed it! One even keeps walking around the house saying "I wish writers could write faster," and "I can't wait for the next Everblade book." Needless to say it's a great read and one I would recommend for young readers in a heartbeat.

Just not my favorite book. The characters felt a bit forced and I didn’t like that there was conflict after conflict. Every chapter had a new problem to solve.
