I was supposed to be cleaning his floors, not falling for him. And definitely not carrying his baby.
Myla The moment I stepped into Crystal Light Mansion, I knew I was doomed. Not because Alaric Xander, the grumpy, sinfully gorgeous Alpha, was my boss. Not because his fiancée loved making my life hell. But because he’s my fated mate. And me? Just the maid scrubbing his floors. One scorching night changed everything—or so I thought. Until he rejected me and went back to his engagement party like nothing happened. So, I left. Took my shattered heart, and his baby, and built a new life far away. The last thing I need is Alaric showing up now, all growls and possessive stares, claiming I’m still his. Well, tough luck, Alaric. You taught me rejection. Now it’s my turn.
Alaric Rejecting her was the dumbest decision of my life. But I convinced myself she wasn’t right. Not enough status, no impressive lineage—what would the pack think? Screw the pack. Now she’s finnally back in my sights, stronger, sassier, and armed with a pint-sized version of me calling her “Mom.” Winning her back? Not easy. Her wolf would love to tear me apart. But I’m not giving up. Not this time. Because when it comes to my mate, failure isn’t an option
Not sure how this one has such high ratings (spoilers ahead) it was bad
There were parts of this book where it felt like a 13 year old wrote it. The dialogue was bad. The plot has been rinsed and repeated in MANY shifter books. Orphan wolf who is bullied by everyone happens to be the fated mate of the soon-to-be alpha. He shags her first, then rejects her. For some reason, they always do the rejection after they get sex.
Alpha marries another woman who happens to be just awful but she’s from the “proper” line. OW, OW’s mom, and alpha’s uncle was conspiring to kill so they could take over. Thankfully, the alpha discovered that plot early and had them arrested. Then he spends the next 5 years looking for his true love 🙃 who he rejected.
Naturally, she has started a new life and has a 4 year old son. Come to find out she’s not orphaned, she’s is royalty 🫅 lol
I can’t decide if this book was either written by 1. A 13 year old with no real life experience 2. An early AI model that hasn’t been trained well OR 3. Someone who is actually writing this as a joke to see if people still read it 🤣
This book was so bad! The plot had potential but the dialogue and grammar were terrible and everything was over the top. Then there were times a word or phrase was used that just made absolutely no sense - almost like the author was writing in a language that they weren’t comfortable with. But I have read other books by this author and they weren’t like this - so it makes no sense!
But then it just got terrible. Towards the end of the book, you learn that Myla had been stringing along a great guy - she easily accepted his help (take advantage of) but refused to turn him down, saying she wasn’t interested, when he would ask her out. She kept saying “now is not a good time”. Then Allric, the douche bag ex mate, shows up and confesses his supposed love. They deserved each other.
This story had a good backbone but the grammar was awful like it was translated to English and not proofread. On top of that lots of errors in words and typos took away from the story. While there were times the story was to long it also seems to jump around like the author got tired of it at the end and rushed the ending.
Over the story was good if you can get around the errors I finished it but it out me off wanting to read more from the series.
SPOILERS He rejected his fated mate and married a woman with a pedigree. And her mother plotted to kill his father in revenge for her husband’s death. And the new wife gave the poison to the chef in order to kill the father. They all got arrested for murder.
I wasn’t overly intrigued by this plot, but it was good enough. I give it an average rating…
There were some errors but still enjoyable. I'm a sucker for 2nd chances. The plot grabbed my attention. I read this in a day. Some parts I guessed but the twists were a good flow.
It’s a cute read. If your in the mood for a rejected mate it will be perfect. I would love to know who Scott ended up with, it may be silly but he was a good side character.
