A cozy cabin, an old wishing well, and two sisters searching for the magic of Christmas.
Inspired by magical memories of spending Christmas at their late mother’s cozy cabin in the mountains, sisters Adria and Becca embark on a journey to recreate the joys of their youth and share the holidays together in a tranquil and remote wintery getaway.
But after they bump into an old friend from high school – along with an enigmatic drifter who’s hunkered down in their cabin for the winter – the sisters soon realize that their Christmas vacation is about to take a surprising turn. With a fearsome storm on the horizon, they all prepare to wait out the bad weather.
But as old crushes begin to flare and both sisters find themselves drawn to the two men, cracks begin to appear in their perfect friendship. And when they go to the old wishing well in the garden, they both make a wish that their holiday dreams will come true – only things won’t turn out quite how they expected.
Can these two sisters recreate the joys of their youth? And can the magic of Christmas overcome the tensions that threaten to tear them apart?
The Family Christmas Cabin is a fun and cozy Christmas-themed women’s fiction series that will warm your heart with a beautiful story about family, love, and friendship in unexpected places.
In this continuing story our main characters are twin sisters. They are in their forties, supposedly successful women. However, they act like 12 year olds. On this Christmas trip home, they met an old high school male friend. Once home they discover a stranger, also male, squatting in the property. They totally accept him, with very few questions asked. I was hoping for some magic and mystery, but all I got was teenaged antics written like a high schooler trying to add more words to get the total the teacher required. I kept reading, waiting for a point. Each "book" is short and rather pointless. Why it wasn't put together as one book I have no idea. I will finish the continuing story, just to see what the actual heck this author is trying to say. It is pretty rubbish all in all. Save your $ .
I don't know what it is with this series that I don't like, the storyline is is ok. Maybe because I wish each book was longer? Or the way they end that feels like a tv movie and you have to wait for next week? But I have to know the ending so will read on!
So many emotions and mixed signals between all of them. No one wants to speak up; no body to get hurt; nobody wants to hurt someone else. I hope someone gets some courage before the snow melts!
What a fun surprise the last cliffhanger turned out to be. It continues to play a part in this section of the story as well. I read this book in one sitting and enjoyed it, but I did find Becca rather tiring and immature. The book ends with a cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to the next portion of the story. I received an ARC copy and I am leaving my opinion without influence.
