What makes this book brilliant is that it takes a wide range of research and puts it together into practical, meaningful applications for anyone leading a team. The chapters are concise, which I love, and follow a set structure which makes it all really easy to digest and reflect upon. Now I’ve finished, my copy is covered in highlights and post-it notes which is a clear sign that I’ve found it extremely useful and will be taking actions directly from it – in fact, I already have! A great book for any and every school leader.

I’ve read lots of books like this and they are generally not very good.
This one is.
Sam has done a sterling job at taking research in and around teamwork, team building and leadership and applied them to work in British schools effectively.
It was also nice to contribute a case study and read the ones that others have written. This greatly added to the work.
