Rebel #4

Linger

Rate this book
The heart-stopping finale of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams’s REBEL series.

I’ve always known where I ranked in every aspect of my life.
Parents? Not the favorite twin.
Military? Dangerous scapegoat.
Women? Practically a god—they’re welcome.
Mafia? Irreplaceable member of the family.

When Willow Bennett moves into our little town, I find that confidence rocked for the first time by how guarded she is.
But that secretive smile and those dancing eyes keep drawing me back to her as if falling in love isn’t a danger I never wanted to put on anyone.

And now that danger is knocking on our door. Demanding atonement for a choice my family made years ago. Attempting to ruin the peace we’ve been living in.
Threatening to destroy everything.

But in our world, rebellions aren’t a phase; they’re an oath. A way of life.
And I’m the unassuming Rebel you need to watch out for.
Nearly every word out of my mouth might drip with sarcasm, but that doesn’t diminish my aim. More than that, you can’t escape me because I’m a bloodhound.

The name’s Diggs.
There’s nothing and no one I can’t track down. If I’m looking for you, you might as well start praying because I’m about to be the last thing you see.

Molly grew up in California but now lives with her husband and daughter in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach . . . which roughly translates to being a homebody and dishing out movie quotes with her hubby. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and loves curling up in a fluffy blanket during a thunderstorm . . . or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Like all Molly McAdams books this one was wonderful. I always loved Diggs and was excited to finally get his story. However... I will never forgive this author for killing off one of my favorite characters 😭😭😭

This is the last book of this series… only to find out there are two other spinoff series!!! Shocked!! Am I going to read them? Yes, yes I will lol!
I enjoyed this book. As much as I love Diggs he did irritate me a bit with his constant back and forth, more so than the other characters when they had the same decisions to make. Like come on bro, you know you love her so just give in! But really he is great! Strong, sexy, funny, light, charming and lethal! Just like the rest of the family, fiercely protective! I hated how much he blamed himself when things went wrong. It hurt my heart. Now Willow aka Tree, while broken, scared and tormented from her traumatic past was strong and brave when it counted. Could you imagine meeting a complete stranger one night for a one night stand and then that person continuously sneaks into your home undetected!!???? But yet she knew he was good. Dangerous but good. Could have gone without so much push and pull but ultimately it ended the way it should have.
And oh my gosh!!! Without saying names and giving anything away…. my heart absolutely broke when one of the family “mafia” members dies! Devastating!

Good

I didn't read the previous books in this series, and I didn't feel lost in this story. This is an action-packed book.

I would a thousand percent give this 5 stars if it weren’t for Jessica… I just don’t understand how that made sense. Kieran and Jess’ story is my favorite and I just cannot fathom how he’s supposed to live without her. It broke me so much that it distracted me from Diggs and Willow’s story.

“The right person can change everything you thought you knew or wanted.”

Linger was a gripping, suspenseful and emotional story in the Rebels series. This author always writes such compelling stories with rich, developed characters and interwoven storylines that will leave you breathless. I was on the edge of my seat to find out what was going to happen next. Diggs and Willow were magnetic and fiery and their connection was tangible.

“I like the way you find me, even though I’ve never once hidden from you.”

I loved Willow’s strength and spirit. She had been traumatized in her past, but she didn’t let it break her. Without even realizing it, she fit seamlessly into Diggs life and filled a hole in his heart that Diggs didn’t even realize that he had.

“The scariest part of my life is you.”

Diggs broke my heart at times. He’s so drawn to Willow and she arouses the most primal feelings of possessiveness and protectiveness yet he pushes her away at every turn to keep her safe. I loved how Willow was determined to stand by him and “handle” his life no matter what.

“I look for pieces of you in every part of my life. You’re so deep in my veins, I couldn’t remove you even if I wanted to.”

The emotional angst in this story is high and my heart was broken by more than one event in it. I’m going to admit that I hadn’t read this series and I think it would have had an even more impactful emotional reaction from me if I had, but I still enjoyed this fast-paced story. It was a rollercoaster ride from start to finish full of unexpected twists and turns, pain, betrayal and a love that cannot be denied.

I have been anxiously waiting (checking and rechecking for release date updates like a psycho😂 ) for this story to be released.

This story was everything I expected it to be: suspense that grips you from the first chapter, romance, a sprinkle of spice, and then when you’re not expecting it your heart gets ripped out by some event you dont see coming but, then she puts it back together and you wait anxiously for the next book like a stalker😜 🤣

Diggs is such a sweet hero, broken but so loyal and protective of our heroine. He hasn’t allowed himself to have a life with anyone to prevent them from being used against him. After falling for Willow, he pushes her away to protect her from the darkness that is his family and life.

Willow has started a new life in a new town to heal from a horrific event in her past. Diggs is able to get under her defenses in extremely endearing ways. They just fit seamlessly into each others lives.

I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop and watch them come together against adversities that get thrown their way.

I REALLY wish certain heartbreaking events didnt have to happen. In my head they didn’t 💔 . I mentally rewrote that, hope you don’t mind Molly… 😂

Overall a great addition to this Rebel series. I’m definitely hoping for more from this group because I love hanging out with them and want to spend more time in the movie fort. 🥰 🥰

I’ve been dying for the release of Linger, Book 4 of the Rebels series. I’m fortunate in that I’ve only been waiting six months, since I held off on reading the previous books until earlier this year. If you’re someone like my friend @favbooks98, you’ve been waiting four long years for Diggs’ story. I had the honor of obtaining an ARC of Linger, and friends…Diggs was worth the wait.

Disclaimer: You 💯 need to read The Redemption series and the previous Rebels books first. You will be lost without them.

Diggs has always been the goofy member of the Borello family; always cracking jokes & more focused on his next meal than anything else. He’s also the first to run into dangerous situations and serves as the Borello family tracker. He refuses to settle down and bring anyone into the mafia life; that is, until he meets Willow. Willow is new to Wake Forrest and seeking an escape from tragic events that drove her out of her home in Virginia. A one night stand quickly turns into an obsession, and neither Diggs nor Willow are able to resist one another. But there are some rival gangs that don’t appreciate the new direction the Borellos have taken in recent years…and as people linked to the Borellos are murdered, Diggs needs to decide whether to bring Willow into his family, or release her for her safety.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I love, love, LOVE Diggs, and I love Willow for Diggs. She is so enamored and she will do anything to be with Diggs. You see a whole new, serious side of Diggs with hints of his fun loving side. All of the couples from the previous books make appearances, some more than others. Halfway through this book the suspense ramps up and I caught myself talking to myself out loud twice. In true Molly fashion there are some agonizing twists and turns - and hints of future storylines for secondary characters. I literally cannot wait to see what’s next in this universe!

I couldn't wait to dive into this book.
This is book 4 in the series but you really do need to dive in. If they are new to you characters or already loved characters you will not get lost whilst this love story unfolds and grips your emotions.
Digg and Willow are perfect for each other.
Digg knows that bringing Willow anywhere near his life means putting a target on her, he's comfortable with his role in his mafia family, he's a man that doesn't entertain love, a man at ease with murder and danger.
Willow is everything Diggs knows he can't have yet he can't stay away from her.
How easy it was to be drawn to this mafia family, how easy it was to love Willow and Diggs together, their turmoil with coming to terms that love exists for them, can they make it, can it work?
My heart was in bits for them, everything was against them, I kid you not the intensity of my emotion even took me by surprise!!
When past enemies return everything tilts on its head!! They really are fighting for their lives!!!
The lengths they go to Protecting their family had me it bits, this author just knows how to hit you hard in all the right places!!
Diggs and his family despite their "occupation" completely stole my heart, Their trust, their determination, the strength and loyalty as a group, and Willow made me want to be like her, this woman !!! Stoic, unmoving and Loyal!!
Grab this book, Diggs will find you and you can handle him!!!!!!

This book. Holy smokes. Diggs. Finally, it's his turn for a story. It did NOT disappoint.

I absolutely adored Willow's character, she has had some trauma in the past, and it matched Diggs'. Instead of it working against them, it actually worked for them. Diggs is a brooding, protective man who wins you over from the beginning. You cannot help but absolutely love him.

From the turn of page one, I was sucked into the world of the Borello's again, and it made me never want to leave. In fact, I left a little more emotional than I normally do from a book, but I guess that's what happens when a book is written so incredibly well, and tells such a grand story, that it feels like an old friend is gone when you turn the last page.

With this, I leave you with my favorite line...

"I like the way you find me, even though I’ve never once hidden from you."

Swoon.

Just read it!

Diggs finally!!

Diggs  finally gets his story. I didn't want this book to end. Willow has demons but she meets Diggs  and he keeps them away.  Diggs isn't one to settle down, he doesn't want to bring anyone into his world and worry about them, but he can't stay away from Willow. When unknown enemy comes to town Diggs has his own internal battle,  push Willow away,  or admit his true feelings.  Willow is brave but can only handle so much with her past. When their pasts intertwine and the family has the fight of their lives, the enemy does all they can to put doubts in Willow's head. Diggs and his family deal with big heartbreak but support each other.  I love  Diggs and Willow, she centers him and he keeps her demons away.  I love seeing the other Rebel characters and the Henly band members,  and a couple from a different book of Molly McAdams.  If you read the previous Rebel series books,  this is a must read! 5 stars!!

What an ending to this series. Now I don’t know if she’ll give us the next 2 series she mentioned at the end as she shifted away from this name, but if she does I’ll welcome them

That being said…I don’t know if I can forgive her for destroying one of my favorite couples. I know it went with the story, but she made him (not spoiling it) human so if Molly does come back to this world I’d be interested to see how and if his life moves forward

I liked Diggs a lot. I do think he was very back and forth for safety but I felt like I was on a hamster wheel most of the time. Willow was likable at first but then towards the end she drove me insane

A gripping and captivating romance that is powerfully inspiring, emotionally raw, and heartbreakingly beautiful. A beautiful, strong, and resilient heroine and a complex, fiercely protective and determined hero. Their chemistry is magnetic and undeniable. The storyline is incredibly well-written with suspenseful twists and turns that are a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Those emotions radiate from the pages; you feel their pain and sorrow, their joy and elation, and everything in between. Diggs and Willow’s connection is intense and undeniable. I love how they fight for one another. A spellbinding romance that I didn’t want to end.

Just want to start by saying I have been waiting so long for Digg’s to finally get his book and it did not disappoint. Though I will say that Molly McAdams is very good at making us experience some truly heartbreaking moments, and she has got to know what I am referring to.
Diggs and Willow are absolutely perfect for each other and their book has to be in my top three of the interconnected series. I desperately hope there is another book in this series because each one seems to get better as it goes on.

This is a gripping, emotional, and suspenseful story for sure.

Molly McAdams has a good way to establish a foundation and then slowly build up to the climax which I love her for doing. She isn't afraid to make you cry, make you laugh, or make you angry enough to throw your Kindle down on the bed, but you are so into the storyline that you must pick it back up and finish reading. I love Molly McAdams for this reason and I loved this book.

Thank you for the ARC!

Wow what a story Molly had for Diggs!

Wow what a story Molly had for Diggs and it was well worth the wait.

Willow was perfect for Diggs, but what an explosive story this was.

He tried so hard to keep her away from who he was, but little did he know she was already smack-bang in the middle.

You never know what trials and tribulations you will get with Molly, and this one was no different, tears were shed….again!

To get the full experience you need to read this in order of the Rebel Series for sure, but if you want the full Monty start with Blackbird.

I hadn't read Rebel series so I was going in blind when I started reading Linger. It's a forth book in series based on mafia romance.
And man what a rabbit hole it was. I was hooked from prologue to the last word. Diggs and Willow's story was incredible. Every chapter was unpredictable and intense and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I cant reveal much without spoiling the book but if your are a mafia romance reader this series is a must read!

Diggs!! Borellos!! Do I really need to say more?

Our favorite sandwich making, fort building, best tracker around finally gets his story! From the first page Molly grabs your attention. Willow captivates you just as she does Diggs. You can feel the pull/connection between the two instantly.

Molly has this way of bringing you to the edge, then brings you back to help heal your heart. She delivers another book you can’t put down.

Okay, y’all need to read this book. Especially if you’re a fan of the series. There are so many twists and unexpectedness that you will be hard pressed to put it down and get anything else done. Diggs has so many reasons to not let Willow in, but there’s just something that’s making it difficult to push her out, no matter how hard he tries. Another great read from Molly McAdams. I expected no less and I’m glad I was right. Grab it today!

LOVED

Let’s be honest, I love anything Molly writes! But this group of characters are some of my absolute favorites of all time! Diggs’ story was no different!! Throughout the other books you couldn’t help but love him, but after reading this I want to marry him!
The chemistry between him and Willow was perfection!! And getting to catch up with the other characters was an added bonus!!

After 3 years we are back in the world of the Borellos. This takes place about a year after the last book. This time we get more of our favorite sandwich loving tracker Diggs!

The rollercoaster Molly McAdams put me through in this book shouldn’t surprise me but it did! The twists and turns I was not expecting at all. She also broke my heart. You don’t want to miss out on this story of Diggs

One of my favorite things about Molly McAdams is that each book feels new and different. This book was great, and I found myself falling for the bad boy. I found it a very smooth and easy book to read, so I finished it very quickly. I feel like you get to see the other characters in a different way, and I really enjoyed that. This book is probably the best in the series!

Molly really packed a punch with Linger! This book was full of action and emotion. I loved how we got to see the whole crew but man, I was heartbroken over some of the loses amid this war. Diggs and Willow were the perfect couple. I loved her loyalty to Diggs, and how she was adamant about accepting him regardless of who he was. The final book in this series did not disappoint! I need so much more. Like an extended epilogue a few years out that tells us what each couple is up to.

I’m literally a Molly McAdams STAN. But what in the fresh hell is this? I DNF halfway through. It was insanely cringe. There was zero point. It just seemed to go in circles. It could’ve literally been a novella. I’m saddened. Still love tf outta her & the first books in this series were good, but this was not it.
