About the author

In 1994, Brenda Jackson’s first novel, Tonight and Forever, was released. Since then she has had more than 100 novels and novellas published (the first African-American author to accomplish such a feat) and has over 3 million books in print.

A very quick listen. As much as I was irritated by Kendal not thinking Jamison wanted her, this was the best of the 3 books.

I felt like this had more depth to the characters and it was more than just instalove. My one wish was that Kendal had been given the opportunity to put ex wife in her place.

Jameson had sworn off tying the knot for good; after his ex wife all but STOMPED on his heart by cheating on him and then leaving with her lover —a lover who ended up dumping her right after the divorce, as expected 😒— having no regards for neither him nor their daughter, he crossed falling for or trusting a woman ever again, or at least, that's what he thought 😏 it was the "Do not speak about my wife like that, EVER AGAIN!" part that had me sold 😭❤🔥 that man KNEW how to treat his woman, and he didn't fail to show it in EVERY word, every look, every touch, every kiss ❤❤❤ Jameson IS the standard, y'all; Do NOT settle for less!!!

Kendall was a kind and quite sensitive soul ❤ the girl'd had a crush on Jamie ever since she was a 14 year old little munchkin 😭❤ I think she and him could've had a chance much sooner had she not made assumptions on his physical preferences, solely based on the women she'd seen him date before. It was clear that she was a gorgeous woman! And Jameson mentioned that quite often, yet she never seemed to take his words seriously, and THAT was to blame on her dÖuchý ex! 😤

I think as much as she worked on herself and tried to feel confident, there was always a small part of her that felt like she could never be "physically pleasing" enough to be by Jameson's side, and that was truly heartbreaking because there are still so many women being judged due to their body sizes, and made to feel like they aren't worthy of being loved or called beautiful 💔

So this is my message to all women out there, dealing with the same insecurities Kendall was facing when first reacquainted with the only man who'd ever really owned her heart: You're worthy of all the love there is to offer in this world. Never let ANYONE make you believe otherwise! ❤

Jamison and Kendal’s chemistry was heavy throughout the story, so it wasn’t hard to see the love between the two evolve. I always love a good BBW love story and this one didn’t disappoint. Jamison may be my favorite Savoy so far.

I really enjoyed how their love grew.
