This is the ninth book in the Seabreeze Inn series (I’ve read all nine), and continues the story of the Bay family and the love story of Ivy and Bennett, as they finally go on their long-delayed honeymoon. However, since this is a Jan Moran book, you can be sure there will be so much more than just a honeymoon trip in store for these two. As with the other books in the series, Ms. Moran does a wonderful job of weaving in other storylines. Among them are the continuing mystery and fascination with Amelia Erickson, who, along with her husband, Gustav, owned the home now known as the Seabreeze Inn. I’ve come to look forward to reading more about Amelia’s life—with each installment, another puzzle piece is revealed (and oh, there’s a very fun twist), and in this installment we also get a peek into the Ericksons primary residence in San Francisco! Ms. Moran’s description of Mallorca, their honeymoon destination, is wonderfully vivid. I could smell the sea air, picture the beautiful foliage, and really wanted some tapas and sangria! Note: for anyone who hasn’t read any of the books in this series, Ms. Moran does an excellent job, in only a few words, of catching us up on the other characters, as well as the circumstances that brought Ivy and Bennett together. If I had one criticism, it’s that Ivy’s ongoing hesitancy to share important news with Bennett became annoying—they’re husband and wife, and life decisions need to be shared! Also, some of the dialogue gets repeated throughout this book. It almost seemed like filler to me. However, I loved the ending (and the bonus scene) and can’t wait to “attend” the Gala in Book Ten. I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
