The above stories are just three of the four included in this great collection. This is a well written and very entertaining collection. Its a collection any book lover would enjoy.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for Bad Boy Update.
These books are overly detailed and not in a good way. Every moment of a day with so much that has nothing to do with the story is shared. The heroines are immature, waffle about feelings, and yet have to have their crush now. The first book, Ex, is a second chance and the majority of the story, the FMC keeps bringing up that the MMC was bad in bed but was her first... I think I'm too old to be the target audience or something. The characters are adults by definition... they just don't "sound" like it. It reads like they are in early high school and all the hormones are messing with the FMCs head. The MMCs seem to have their emotions figured out, are jocks who are popular and older, may not be the best or "biggest" but are thoughtful and considerate... mostly.
I tried to like these. There are plots, there is some character development, and there's a mix of tropes. I found myself reading the first or last sentence of paragraphs and ignoring the rest. Just not for me.
Ex - Good storyline but the main character was pretty ridiculous. Ran from everything instead of confronting her worries. It was annoying to read. The guy was too understanding and amazing and honestly, unrealistic.
Pucked - Great storyline but the author clearly didn’t know much about hockey nor did the proof readers do a good job to correct the story. No sidelines in hockey, no third quarter, no stadium and not the same player doing a tie breaking shootout. And that was only to name a few. If the story would be properly edited it would be a good but. Disappointing from that standpoint.
I love to read but right now I am so disappointed in this author I don’t feel like reading the box set or more by this author.
I only *barely* made it through Ex. The second chance plot had potential but execution was poor. The spice could have bumped it up to 3 stars but the storyline was so repetitive it was off putting. I had to flip back and forth a few times because I was sensing déjà vu with what I had just read, and sure enough, it was the same wording regurgitated.
Maddie is the first character I’ve read that TRULY made me upset with them. She was one of the most annoying characters I’ve ever read at that. All I can say is, WTF..
Brian is giving golden retriever energy. Yeah he’s an immature college guy that didn’t react in the best way a few times but I could not get behind his quick forgiveness, obsessive ways.
Even though these characters had a past, their reconnection was just not believable.
Emily Stewart did a great job on this collection, Ex, Pucked, Balled and Brother were all great stories, the plots were strong so wasn't the characters, the stories were written well. Each of these couples had their bumps along the way but they were truly meant to be, their connection and chemistry was strong, they were good for each other, they were great together. I enjoyed this box set. Thanks, Emily Stewart. Good work :)
I usually enjoy books set at college but this book was too young. The heroines were very immature to be in college. The girls met the guys usually 1 to 2 years older The heroines took any kind of problem and blew it out of the water. The boys never got a benefit of a doubt. The girls were causing a lot of the problems. They wouldn’t apologize to the boys but the boys always accepted how
The I enjoyed all the books in this wonderful set. Each story is unique for each couple. Some of the stories are unusual. All the guys are former SEALS so each has a unique take on life and what they did while in the military. Each of the ladies are unique as well. They come from having different issues in their background. Some struggle with what waits ahead. I thoroughly enjoyed this set. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Stewart.
I really enjoyed the first and last books giving them four stars-they had good character and drama with tons of spice. However, second and third books I didn’t like the female character they were whine and annoying acting like they couldn’t think for themselves.
What an enjoyable bundle of books. This author did a fabulous job with the characters within each book as well as the stories themselves. If you are looking for a few books to enjoy then this is the set for you. #BadBoyUpdate
FMC was a flighty, ridiculous girl that acted more like a child than a woman. The spicy descriptions were ok, but the author used some terms incorrectly and it took me out of the story. At least there weren’t many typos or syntax errors.
I only read the first book. I found it hard to concentrate with the MC being in her head for so much of the time with unrealistic thoughts and emotions. I found the writing somewhat immature.
2.5 stars- I read the first two stories but did not finish the other two. I liked the plot but they were both very repetitive and the female characters irked me.
Arc review For honest Review this box set has four sexy men and the women the have chemistry with as they have their ups and downs .I enjoy each story and their characters.
What a book four great stories about University. What goes on and how it affects the individual. The first story tells about two ex’s getting back together at University with a lot of chaos in between. This is a great read. I received an ARC for an honest review which I have given
