Need to read all 3 books because the first 2 have no ending

I’m rating this set as a 4 but if I were rating each individual book, I would rate them a 3. I did enjoy the story since it is a unique time travel concept. I also enjoyed most of the character development. However, book 1 and book 2 have no ending. No loose ends are tied up. The reader is just left with a partial story. Since I had all three books, I was able to simple read the next book. If I hadn’t had all three, I would have been very disappointed. Also, the last book dragged on. I could see the end coming but there was too much emotional baggage from all the characters. Demarco, for example, was described over and over as to how angry he was. It became annoying. All that said, though, the trilogy is worth reading, the time travel unique and a satisfying ending is done in book 3.

Too violent

Story starts out as an intellectual challenge and kept my interest and then it just all became violent and stupid. One of the lead protagonists becomes angry and out of control and then suddenly he's fine again.
