3.5 stars - This review first appeared on A Weebish Book Blog

In volume two of the WILD ONES series, Sachie and the clan head to the beach to visit her grandfather’s friend and enjoy some fun in the sun. The group soon encounters trouble when Sachie meets Azumi Inui, who quickly becomes enamored with her, sparking Rakuto’s jealousy and competitive drive.

I once again enjoyed the trip back into Sachie’s over-the-top and humorously ridiculous life. In this sequel to WILD ONES, vol. 2 Sachie continues to keep the clan’s henchmen on their toes as her vigilante ways often lead to unforeseen and dangerous situations. Many would become exasperated—I certainly would!—but they seem to take it in stride and take comfort that her presence in their lives has filled them with happiness.

Volume two delivers more “awwwwh”s, more gut-wrenching moments as Sachie mourns her mother’s death, and priceless cock-blocking from oblivious clan members.

2020: I had forgotten about Azuma and the triangle! Don't know how I could have forgotten that! I wasn't sure if I wanted to dive into that, but the story is still very cute.

Good book! The art is great, and Sachie is amazing! She's a very multifaceted main character, and I loved seeing her intensity and sense of justice, along with her caring side, in this volume! And I really enjoyed this volume. It was funny, sweet, and endearing, with fun action scenes. The yakuza are great. 4.5 stars! Oh, and I liked the tension Azuma added to the story.

After enjoying and laughs with the first volume I was excited to read this one, the second volume.

Sachie Wakamura is taken in my her grandfather when her mom dies. Only he happens to be a part of a gang! Now she's treated like a princess, surrounded by some scary (but sweet) men and even has her own bodyguard! But Rakuto (the bodyguard) drives Sachie crazy! He is the most popular guy at her new school, but she's the only one who knows he's a part of her grandfather's gang. Not only does he watch her every single minute practically, but one minute he can be nice and kind, the next totally irritating!

In this volume there is drama at the beach as a new character is introduced. Then there is drama about a dance and the problem of Rakuto being followed around by a movie club, their secret might be found out if they don't stop the filming!!

This was a really enjoyable volume and I'm growing to love the characters. The story is funny and sweet. My only real problem is that sometimes the panels can be confusing and a little rushed kinda. But otherwise I really enjoy this manga and I'm excited to get the next volume!

Sachie just learned her grandfather isn't dead like her recently deceased mother always told her... it's because he's the head of a yakuza gang! She isn't sure about her new family even though they treat her as the honored princess of their boss and to make matter more complicated Rakuto is her bodyguard, and the most popular boy at their school! Can she adjust to her new family and find a way to make her new love work?

This volume starts out slow as we have classic shojo manga moments. It gets a lot better once we move past rival Azuma and just get cute with Raku and Sachie's situation at school... we get a haunted house, a film club, a pervert and a netherworld cafe. The handling of the film club was the best! I love how she called them all loved ones and how tickled Raku was... Lovely drawings of their intimate moments!! Also the brief interactions between Raku & grandpa and great (more please!)

The best chapter so far was #8 where Sachie is starting to understand better about Raku and his role in her life...

BOTTOM LINE: A Yakuza love story part 2.

Lol. It seems that Sachi is starting to get used to the fact that her grandfather is part of the mob and possibly has a bit of a spotty past.

I felt bad for that one idiot who's girlfriend is the worst kind of girl.

The introduction of the all important love triangle. Wouldn't be a shoujo manga if there was no love triangle. :/

I love how Sachi and Igarashi are starting to show there feelings for one another.

Still enjoying. Still confusing with how quickly things come and go. And as much as Sachie talks about how the hero's eyes go from cold to warm... it's super hard to notice yourself, considering that doesn't come through in the pictures. He looks rather devilish whether he's lying or not...

K obálkám mám neutrální názor. Nemůžu totiž říci, zda se mi líbí či nelíbí.

Okay, I can clearly picture this as an anime and I'm reasonably upset that it's not. Especially since reading the first one, there's a huge improvement with volume 2. This volume was just so doggone cute and I'll admit I fangirled a bit.

I found that this volume had a way more interesting plot and that it was much more cohesive. The story flowed so much smoother than the last one and I am happy to say that this has restored my faith in this manga series.

At first, I wasn't sure about this manga but after reading the second volume, my doubts are very much gone. There were more swoon-worthy moments and more characters were introduced. We also had more touching moments between the characters that show how close they're becoming and hints at the relationship between them.

I really like this manga series and I can't wait to continue! Happy Reading everyone!!!

(3.5) I have to say that the way Rakuto's eyes are drawn kind of bugs me. But at least it means I can tell him apart from the other male highschoolers. (There's a rough sketch of Azuma & Rakuto in the bath - I think in the next vol - which makes it clear that drawing differentiated faces is not one of Fujiwara's strengths. Without hair inked in, they're indistinguishable. And now I can't stop thinking about the multiplying Suzukis running gag in Nozaki-kun.)

Enjoyed this one more than the first. Sachie isn't the damsel in distress the whole book, and I really think I'm going to love the addition of Azuma. This book also amped up the comedy aspects. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

The first book in this series was really good although I don’t remember much from it. This one was definitely not as good. It was entertaining and there were a couple of moments where I was like *swoon* but overall it was just an ok read.

Cute; easy to get through. Took a bit to get into, but then again, I'm jumping in at book two, which is never a good idea if you want to you know, know what's going on.

Still enjoying this series overall. Sachie is really headstrong but the characters have such wholesome ideals. I hope to be able to find this series to own someday.

Imagine having your own personal swoon-worthy bodyguard at your beck and call who pops up at just the right moments to hold your hand, help you with your homework, save your life...oh and he's yakuza, just like your Grandpa, and everyone else in your household for that matter. That's Sachie Wakamura's life, and it's still taking some getting used to. Sachie likes to jump in and stop the bad guys too, so it comes in sort of handy that she has a warm-hearted yakuza family to back her up when she wants to champion the weak. And Rakuto is always the charming prince, but what are his true feelings? Or Sachie's? Then you've got Azuma who's new to the "household", and the crazy director of the school film club who's stalking Rakuto. Funny and sweet moments ensue.

Sachie seems a bit more clueless in this volume. Lots of other cliche moments in here, such as slipping off a ledge in the wilderness, love triangles, and more. When I first read it I loved it, but this time around I found it less original. Or are other mangas less original? Either way, it effected my enjoyment a bit. Still cute though. I like Azuza so far. I look forward to getting to know him more. And the Festival Cafe in this is creative and different. And the last chapter was unexpected. Looking forward to continuing.

Well, volume 2 was a little bit less like Fruits Basket, but the similarities are still in your face. We're introduced to Azuma, who adds the love triangle factor of FB. This series came out around the same time so I know it was probably a popular genre and topic... but really...

However, I LOVE when Sachie gets super bad ass. She reminds me of Nana from Othello, who I adore! So I like that.

Despite it being a rip off of Fruits Basket, I enjoy it when I read it. But, much like Trinity Blood, it bums me out it seems to be a rip off :-(

I forgot how much I liked this series. This is about Sachie who loses her mother and goes to live with her grandfather who is the head of the Yakuza. The way the guys follow her around so she doesn't get hurt makes me laugh. I like her and Rakuto together. He is popular in school and her age but he is also part of the gang and her protecter.

Series Review: Wild Ones is a funny and romantic manga that I really enjoyed beginning to end. The plot was great as well as the characters. I never got bored and the plot twists were often surprising. The ending was perfect for the series and well timed. If you are looking for some action along with normal high school drama this is the manga for you!

Not enough Azuma in this volume! Rakuto is stalked by the director of the film club and they must protect their family secret.

I love Rakuto but I'm craving the love triangle trope so I was a little disappointed that Azuma was out of town for most of this volume and there didn't seem to be much competition.

Sweet and funny. Some parts did hint at the dark side of the yakuza elements in the story. One main issue witb the art is the hands in non close ups- they look way too big.
Rakuto is funny. His jellousy is goanna get him in trouble though...
