This workbook deals with contemporary project management. The author bases it upon competencies that are proven to be useful, to be integral, and a vital part of the project management experience. Covering area such as resource management and leadership as well as taking step-by-step approaches of the different phases of project management, the author is able to give you the reader and overview and a detailed understanding of what all goes into this process. As always this book was full of Vital Information that I found interesting and useful, I have already begun using some of the information in my masters courses at college, as I found that this has helped me gain a greater understanding in my project management courses, and so I can better able utilize the information within this book. Fantastic and highly recommended to every single project manager, later, and aspiring mentor.

I didn’t hesitate to get “Overview of Contemporary Project Management: A Competency-Based Approach that Integrates Planning and Evaluation with Resource Management and Leadership”, when I saw that it was written by experienced author Wesley E. Donahue.
This incredible book focuses on the field of project management and provides insights into various aspects of managing projects in today's complex business environment. I couldn’t agree more with the author when he explains that while traditional project management approaches still have their place, it's essential to adapt to the changing landscape of project management and understand the human element in project success. I highly recommend reading this incredible book, as it is filled of interesting knowledge, that any project manager should master.

In many fields, working on a project with multiple people is part of the day to day. This means that it is crucial to know how to handle and behave in these situations in order to get a better outcome. This book is perfect for anyone working in a project or for someone trying to pick the right people for this work. It will touch subjects such as planning and evaluation, resource management, leadership and coaching. It has helped me personally because I work a lot with other people. And sometimes, it can get very frustrating to work in a team when you don’t know how to handle certain situations. Definitely worth reading.

These have been carefully designed with questions and blank, lined spaces for one to fill in with the correct answers as one sees them. This excellent book also includes many very useful diagrams and graphs to describe and enhance the meaning of the words. This book is ideal for anyone working in project management and the author helps the reader to perceive each and every important aspect of the task. Whether that task is on a large or small scale, this book has you covered. Highly recommended.
